Cozy spot in great area. Both indoor and outdoor sitting options are great. The shop is located right in front of a park with a nice view and the inside is very artsy. Lots of local artists pieces in the walls that gives it a different and unique vibe. The coffee was good, nothing crazy but good. Pastries are all vegan, which I thought was awesome. I had the vanilla pop tart and loved it. Layered bread with a generous, sweet filling. They do have other options for full meals as well
Deserves nothing but 5 Stars.PS The only 1 star by John Hernandez is a fraud the guy obviously has no common sense or taste and the worst opinion I’ve ever seen, so if you see it just go ahead and report it. John if you see this you are dumb.
Sorry to start this off sour but that one star review from John H who is a local guide is hilarious. Imagine leaving a 1 star review for a Small business over your cheese not being yellow, which I dont even believe is served here.Go spend your $20 at a corporate owned franchise. Fast food is cheap for a reason. There are PLENTY of Other restaurants that will provide you with all the yellow cheese you could ever want. 🤢And complaining about shakers and salsa served in paper cups? Seriously? You couldnt find anything else to complain about? It sounds as though this person just wanted to take their anger out on someone. No one cares if you told all your buddies not to eat here. That means less people like YOU around. Now for the good,The menu is different and the food will satisfy your palate. The staff works hard and they do their best to serve great food and drinks. Ill be telling ALL of my buddies to check them out :)So take my advice, and eat here!
This place is great, the food is fresh and delicious, AND they support local artists! the tres leche latte changed my life.
Yesterday myself and co-worker of mine we went to eat at your establishment, and I must say that I and my worker where not. Very impressed with you at all for the Following Reasons:1. We ordered Bacon/Egg with Cheese Tacos and the Cheese was White and it supposed to be Yellow ( especially when we notice another customer had yellow cheese on theres).2. The price was to expensive we can go to Other Mexican food Restaurants which i have to in the Past and get Yellow cheese on my Tacos and not pay the Price. Of $ 21.65.3. While my Co-worker and I where eating the staff came up to are table and asked us for the Salt and Pepper shakers back, so the other customers can use them ( you should have salt and pepper shakers on the Table and as well when you serve salsa you should use little cups to put it in, NOT papper cups).I do NOT recommend this restaurant to eat at.I will not be Back here Again. You all not only Lost 2 customers but a whole lot more because i did tell a lot of people about my experience. If you want to waste your money go ahead. And eat here. But if your smart dont waste your money here because that all youll be doing. So Take my Advice and dont eat here
A 3 min walk from the hospital and a much nicer environment to wait for your appointment! Very cozy converted house, I think, and super friendly/relaxing staff. I had a lavender expresso, very 😋 delicious. Some breakfast tacos too, fresh & hot on homemade tortillas, served with mild house salsa. Limited seating but enough seating and some spaces outside, in front, to view the pretty city park. We kind of forgot about all the hectic schedules and daily tasks for awhile. Oh, the artwork, textiles and jewelry on display for purchase are one more thing to help you slow down and take a break. Enjoy this nice getaway.
LOOOVED kepej!!!💕Its only one block away from a large, over-rated, national coffee chain & is definitely worth hopping over!Cmon people, open maps, look up coffee shops get out of these giant corps & into the true backbone of our communities, the mom & pop shops. I know youll love this one 😊Not pictured, my nicely made double shot cappuccino from the day before ☕ & the HUGE almond croissant pastry 😋I live outta town, but kapej is just a few blocks off I-35/37 downtown, so will be back, hopefully soon!
Got the tres leche latte, which is a must try and their most popular breakfast sandwich. This place is a must try!
Coffee was great. Unique flavors and nice setting and decor.
Came in to finish work on my laptop and get a nice quick and easy meal. Got exactly what I expected and enjoyed my time here. Definitely will come back, staff is very nice and the atmosphere is very homey
Great little coffee shop; I had an excellent vanilla iced latte. The parking is fairly limited but the shop is cute and intimate. I’ll be coming back when I’m in the area!
A sanctuary. I love coming here in the middle of the day. The food is delicious and their coffee is just what you need. Perfection. On a nice day. Sit outside, catch some reads, and relax. Try their baklava!!
This place was so awesome! The staff was super friendly and helpful. Inside is really well set up, intriguing with a comfortable coffee shop feel. Always looking for new places to try and I will definitely be back to try the multitude of drinks and foods!!
Real rich caramel, scooped from a jar with a spoon, is what they use in their coffee drinks! No clear syrup! Best coffee in a long time, and a great little spot overlooking a park near downtown.
Lovely little gallery and coffee shop overlooking a park. Great coffee and pastries. The food menu looked authentic, cant wait to come again!
Cozy, art-filled building. Nice, shady outdoor patio. Excellent coffee and one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had. I had no idea this place was here until today, but it’s now on my list of places in SA worth a repeat visit.
I love the artisan aesthetic!! The interior is an artist gallery and has plenty to look at and ponder. The food was overtly delicious which confused me because I thought I ordered something so plain but came out the complete opposite. I ordered the Dirty Masala and it was tasty? It was like a spicy iced coffee. Never had it before. The guys helping with my choice were super welcoming. I’m on a round trip on the motorcycle across the country and when I find my way back here I plan on returning. I wish I had friends in this town I’d recommend them here. So I hope this review puts some butts in their seats!!
Try the mango turmeric smoothie! Delicious.
Opens at 8 which feels a bit late for a coffee shop but otherwise very friendly. I had a blueberry honey muffin.. WOW. And you can’t go wrong with supporting local artists
The food is AMAZING!!! Fabian is so friendly and courteous!!
Delicious food. Variety with healthy options menu. Amazing Art to admire or purchase. Super staff. The live ukulele music was relaxing. Definitely be back.
Kapej is a must-try if you’re in the area. Breads, tortillas, pastries all made in house with natural ingredients. Breakfast was amazing, especially the tacos and egg sandwich. Brought out-of-town guests the next day. The quality was consistent. Coffee from local roaster. Delicious.
Great service, great atmosphere, highly recommend Kapej. I love it there. Their drinks are delicious. The art on the wall is unique and their art exhibit is amazing.
Ouch! I forgot how expensive a coffee shop can be. But, I guess it makes sense. If this is your primary source of income, you have to charge enough to earn a living. Anyway, the service was excellent. Atmosphere was nice, too. I didnt eat anything, but whatever they were cooking smelled amazing! If you dont mind spending $4 for a small cup of coffee, I would definitely recommend this place.
Great coffee and breakfast tacos! I’ll be returning for sure. It was $8.34 after tax for a coffee and breakfast taco. That’s comparable to other coffee shops from what someone else posted below.
Veggie Quinoa dinner presentation and flavors excellent and satisfying.
Tried out this place because it was close by and I think it might be my new favorite coffee house! Super cute converted house with local artwork displayed/for sale. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I ordered a hot Kepaj con leche and it was perfect! Not too sweet, creamy, no burnt coffee flavor. They also made me a sample of the Masala chai and let me tell you, it is the closest to authentic chai I have had in a long time, made with traditional masala and jaggery! Haven’t had a chance to try any of the food items yet but I will definitely be back!
Coffee is great. Food is great.
Great coffee & tasty coffee! Excellent service and cute place. Owners were really nice!
Almost dont want to leave a review cause I found a little spot to go to hide out. Right across from a park, great veiws and feels inside. Would be a great place to get some FaceTime with a friend or family member then take a walk in the park. I had a Frappuccino great coffee, I can taste the quality of the expresso.
I am so happy to have discovered this hidden gem of a place! Everything I have tried on the menu has been DELICIOUS! (even the artwork is a small feast for the eyes). The place is immaculate, the owners - so kind and engaging, and the coffee is superb - it has become difficult for me to enjoy coffee anywhere else.
Lovely and quaint lil spot with a cool art gallery, nice jewelry and pretty delightful food! Not much of a coffee drinker but Ill return for theirs! Mocca made with fresh melted chocolate and owners who were cool with making my friend a sweet cubano cafe, not on their menu! Great service!
The food is very delicious! The Tres Leche was so good we had them make our wedding cake. Additionally, the artwork on the wall is from different local artists in different styles and at a great price. We returned for coffee and their baked cookies since the dog park is right in front. The owners have always been nice to us and we could see us stopping by regularly.
The coffee and food was delicious! I got the Kapej con leche and a bacon egg and cheese taco and I was not disappointed. Good quality tortillas and the Oaxaca cheese was fantastic.
This is the best food in San Antonio. Desserts, sandwiches, and pizza. My mouth waters just thinking about it.
Excellent coffee and lovely place!
Excellent 100% exquisite all ...
