This eye place was excellent and I was so glad they were willing to see my 5 year old. All staff members were friendly and professional, and I was not sitting in a waiting room for long at all. I had such great service at the office. Dr. Rosillo is phenomenal. She took the time to explain me everything and all the questions I had. After seen her I was helped by Art and he was just great. Very patience and went over every question and prices also went over different lenses and show me physical examples of the lenses that suit me better. Update 1/25/21: The frames I had ended up with were defective. They were glad to replace them with no problem. I spoke to Alex who was very helpful also over the phone however, I suppose there was a miscommunication that I figured the entire glasses would be replaced (both the frame and lenses). Mind you, I don’t live in San Antonio anymore, but still choose to see Dr Rosillo. I came back from Austin to pick up the glasses and was asked if I had the other pair of glasses. Nobody didn’t inform me over the phone I had to bring them, so I couldn’t get my new glasses at that time. I was extremely frustrated being that I had taken a day off from work and driven over 100 miles to get them. The staff up front suggested for me to ship the glasses to them so they could replace the frames with the current lenses I had, then they would ship them back to me. I didn’t want to do that fearing they’d break while being shipped...and then have to spend more on shipment. Just thought that was silly...but I can see why it was brought up being that I live in another city now and to save me a trip. Dr. Rosillo spoke to me and she was very patient, kind, and willing to compensate me for my time. I just let her know I would come back on a Saturday when they’re open and I’m off from work with the defective glasses. I just want to express how much I appreciate her for making it right and not giving me a rough time. She was very empathetic. I felt more at ease and calm after. NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES!! DO NOT RECOMMEND. I recently got my prescription glasses from here to use in operating rooms but the frame was heavier and didnt quite fit my nose bridge when I got my glasses back. When I asked for a refund (since I didnt like other frames at the shop), Dr. Nydia instantly changed her facial expression and had me talk to the receptionist instead. Ever since then all the employees treated me rudely and told me Dr. Nydia is doing me a FAVOR by allowing me to exchange the glasses. I was FORCED to purchase another frame even though I didnt like any of them at the shop. No one had explained the refund or exchange policy prior to the purchase. When I asked where the policy is stated, the receptionist took long time to find it on website. Policy was not stated anywhere in the shop nor paper copy was given. ADDITIONALLY, all the frames at the shop were more expensive than the retail price. I personally compared the price from brands such as Ray-Ban, Fossils, Tommy Hilfinger, Nautica etc. so it is confirmed (attached in photos). (lens were way more expensive too) When I asked the reason why the prices are significantly higher, they told its because all the frames are from Luxottica and they need to profit by raising the price. Next time I need glasses, I would just purchase through online which provides cheaper options with full refund.

One of the best eye care doctors I have been to. My husband, my daughter, and myself received wonderful service and we went on separate occasions. All office staff was courteous and friendly. It was clean and they have lots of precautions in place at the moment. I highly recommend for all ages. They were very gentle and had tons of patience with my daughter.

Dr. Rosillo and her staff are always very courteous and accommodating. They def try to make sure you are comfortable and they are patient with me. When you try on glasses sometimes Dr. Rosillo will personally help you make sure the glasses fit properly not just her staff. This last time I went and had to pay out of pocket and I tried to shop around to see if there may be better prices but she definitely has some of the best prices exam and it wasn’t cut throat!

I just had my first appointment here and was extremely pleased with my experience! Everyone was friendly, kind and knowledgeable, the office was pretty and clean, and it was easy to get to! To topit off Dr. Rosillo being fantastic. she didnt rush through my exam and gave me you sufficient time to figure out which lens correction was a sharper image for me, which I dont think has ever happened before. I will actually be able to see very well now! Bonus, she is a very nice, real person! She was even sitting at the front counter when I checked in! 😀

Front office staff was very nice and efficient, and they also got me back for my appointment immediately even though I arrived 30 minutes early. YOU MUST GO HERE! I walked in to repair my existing glasses-from a different eye clinic. I didnt expect anything but i was treated like a Queen! The doctor took the time to look at the issue, find another frame to replace mine, move me into the new frames and make all the adjustments. I was so happy, i had to hug the doctor! Wow service is rare and so refreshing!

This office is amazing. I had a small piece of metal or rust in my eye due to my work at a metal shop, and it had been bothering my eye for the past 2 days nonstop. My eye was constantly watering, my nose had a strange symbiotic reaction and was always running, I looked and felt gross. So I decided to reach out to a specialist, which is something I never do. But the circumstance called for an intervention. So I called this office a little over an hour before they closed to schedule an appointment for 3 days later. They were able to see me that same day!! So 1 hour later I’m at the office, got the metal piece out of my eye, and got a little bit of a check up of my eyes all within that same hour. And all of it was at an affordable price! I recommend these fine folks here for all your optical needs. I for sure will be coming back whenever I get another piece of junk stuck in my eye. Lesson learned: ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SAFETY GLASSES.

I have pretty bad eyesight and I like how Dr. Nydia is always trying to find better contacts for me and gives me suggestions to take better care of my eyes. I have complete trust in her. I’ve been coming to Family Eye Care for about 6yrs!! I love it, the staff and doc are great. I’ve never had a problem or complaint. I also brought my 7 year old daughter here for her first eye exam! She loved it!! Over all this is a great place to come for contacts / glasses and/or routine eye exam.

Had some serious concerns about my daughter’s vision. I called Family Eye Care first thing in the morning and they squeezed us in right away. The staff provided excellent service and Dr. Rosillo was very good with my 8 year old daughter. Overall we are very pleased with how we were treated and my daughter’s first eye exam. I posted a review 2 years ago and wanted to share an update. Dr. Rosillo and her staff have ensured the safety of patients (and her staff) during the pandemic by requiring masks, social distancing, and temperature checks when you walk in. In addition, they thoroughly sanitize all machines and equipment prior to each patients use. They were incredibly patient as I took over an hour to decide on frames and stayed well past closing time (unbeknownst to me) as I deliberated over which frames to choose. Not once did I feel rushed or as though I was inconveniencing them. Like I said, I didnt even know they had closed! I highly recommend this clinic. Previous review: Dr. Rosillo is the best! We had taken our son to numerous eye doctors over the years, but none seemed to be a fit until we finally tried Family Eye Care. All the staff are very friendly, Dr. Rosillo is amazing, AND best of all they take appointments on Saturdays! A convenience which is greatly appreciated when you would otherwise have to try to squeeze an appointment in during work and/or school hours. I highly recommend Family Eye Care, for both children and adults.

The staff was friendly and courteous, but they billed the wrong insurance company, despite being told several times, and charged me a copay I wasnt supposed to have. When this was resolved, they would not refund the payment to my card or mail me reimbursement, instead requiring me to return in person to pick up a check.Edit based on businesss reply: This was not an issue of primary and secondary insurance. I had two insurances for two different purposes and the wrong one was billed. As for the copay refund, their lower overhead costs is my time and gasoline. In this day and age its basically unheard of to have to pick up a printed check. Its inconvenient, thats a simple fact.

Dr. Nydia Rosillo is my favorite eye doctor. I live out of the state and try as much as possible to come back to Family Eye Care for my eye exams, contacts and to get new frames when visiting town. I love the professionalism, extensive variety of style selections and the most updated contacts, as well as knowledgeable doctor, friendly staff and excellent customer service, including standing and providing guarantee for their products. I accidentally scratched my lenses and they were able to replace the lenses promptly. They actually make me feel like at home and help me find the best frame for my face shape. They have great parking and easy freeway access. They take different insurances.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Rosillo since I moved to San Antonio and have had nothing but positive experiences. Whenever I’ve gone in for an eye exam I’ve only had to wait a couple minutes at most and usually I’m taken straight back. Dr. Rosillo and her staff are very nice and do a good job explaining the purpose of each eye test and answering any questions you may have.

Went in for my annual exam, the staff was very friendly and polite! I was in and out very quickly and painlessly! They have an excellent selection of frames to choose from and all the options for lenses was very thoroughly explained! Definitely making this were I go for all my glasses and contacts!

Oh my eye! LOL while it wasnt a laughing matter at the time but I had a piece of ceramic tile dust up into my my eye while cleaning up and thankfully Family Eye Care was able to take me in right away and check my vision and remove the piece. Family Eye Care has a wonderful staff. Everyone there is nice and very professional. I have been going there for over a year. They have state of the art equipment and they perform thorough exams and can handle any of your concerns.

I was so sad about my experience. I just moved here, and this place looked cute. It had decent reviews, so I scheduled an appointment. Then, I was afraid I was going to miss it, so I called to see if there was a cancellation charge. When I called, they couldnt find where I had been scheduled, so I had to reschedule completely. They called about my insurance, and because my insurance can be a little confusing, I emailed them a copy of my card at 1pm. I came in for my appointment at 4:30pm, and they had yet to look at my insurance. By this time, my insurance office was closed, and they could not make contact. They told me I would have to pay out of pocket up front and they werent sure if my insurance would cover anything. After all of that, I had to leave without ever seeing a doctor. It was disappointing.

Dr. Rosillo and her staff are very knowledgeable, friendly, and always makes time to answer any questions I have. Her equipment is very advanced and her office is always neat and clean. My husband and I have been going to see her for the past two years and we have never had one complaint! We have both purchased glasses from her and are completely satisfied. She has a wonderful selection of stylish glasses. We have also been fitted for contacts. She suggested the daily contacts which I was hesitant about trying due to their cost but they are amazing!

Was here back in march, brought my 6 yr old son to get checked again second time in less then a year had a feeling first prescription was off, and it was! so we got his prescription updated. They accept medicaid so till now they have been going on with medicaid trying to get my sons glasses approved. finallly they were! i got an updated call saying it was approved two days later glasses are ready for pickup.AMAZING!!!

I was a walk-in... No appointment. The arm on my glasses was about to fall off and seemed totally irreparable. But they worked and worked until they got it fixed! With state of the art technology in optometry and practice management, Dr. Nydia Rosillo provides the best care I have EVER received from an optometrist. She is compassionate, tireless in her goal of patient satisfaction, and prompt with communication via phone and the Internet. Having the ability to schedule appointments online is invaluable in a day and age where having that tool available will save time and money that would normally be taken out of my work day by calling and by having to write out all insurance info upon coming for the first appointment. She is not in it to get a pair of glasses on every face, or contacts sucked onto every eye; she just wants every patient to have the best solution that fits with their needs. I have been a patient here for a few years. The doctor is amazing. However today I had the worst customer service experience and will no long be a patient after this experience. I arrived, was asked to sign some documents and then quickly escorted to the back for my exam. The staff did not provide any information on a change in their offices participation in my particular vision insurance. After my eye exam I was informed my charges where an extra $80. One particular staff member was rude, condescending and just repeated the same things over and over again stating that I should have asked more questions. Nothing was resolved and I feel deceived. If you decide to go here, dont depend on the staff to provide accurate helpful information.

I booked an appointment 3 weeks in advance. Appointment was lost, then found. Then, the secretary couldnt find my insurance and accused me of not being able to pay if I didnt have insurance! She just didnt know how to look it up! USAA members beware of this place.

They were the best on everything you could imagine ! I have M.S. & HAVE a lot of problems with my lower back& have had lower back surgery for problems with my back, they helped with that & also had a fan in the exam room that helped with claustrophobia & left the door open when discussed THAT helped relieve the claustrophobia ! My biggest problem was at the last where they had to take pictures then print outs, it would have not been difficult for somebody with normal lower back difficulties but because of my back I was in a lot of pain at this point that a regular person with a regular back would have been no sweat !
