Run away from this company. Bought a door from them. When the door and crew arrived for installation the door looked awful; dented and rusty. I refused delivery and asked for the owner. Owner arrived and stated that they would fix the door and it would look great. When I asked what happens in a few years when it rusts again and the dents reappear after the spackling cracks or falls off. He said “not to worry, if that happens, which it won’t, we stand by our products and will fix it.” Well, it happened. Multiple calls and visits by my wife and myself have resulted in their refusal to stand by their product and work. To make it all worse they quoted me a price of over $1000 to fix it. How’s that for standing by their product? The owner was very eager to earn my $3000+ business but will not see me or address the problem. So much for his word and his product. Buyer beware.

San Marcos Iron Doors are truly professional. The iron door that they custom designed for our home is beyond expectations. They are professional in their approach at every stage of the process, from measurement to installation to follow up. They are the only home improvement contractor that we have used for which we can say we are totally satisfied with the service, product and price. While it might take slightly longer to get your custom door built and installed, overall it is well worth the wait. Their production tracking system allows you to follow each stage of the production process. This definitely offsets any anxiety one might experience. Great job San Marcos Iron Doors!

UPDATE: They did finally come after my posting... and did the service man was excellent at the completion, our door looks beautiful... only wish it didn’t take something negative to get results. Will increase our stars to 3 instead of one. CS is very important!The door is pretty and that’s about all I can say positive. They were quick to take my money, but that’s about the end of the customer service. Been waiting now over 2 1/2 months for some follow up on completion... sales person took calls but did nothing... CS is poor, She always an excuse and no apology which is really all someone asks for!! Wish I would have read the reviews... seems their work is very inconsistent.

I would not recommend this company, terrible communication, so many mistakes, took wrong measurements, ordered the wrong way to have the door to swing, just so so frustrating to work with this company, I never even received an invoice when I paid for half the price of the door. I called several times to have the supervisor call me and never once received a call.Stay away from this company.

Difficult installation requiring fit up of beautifully fabricated iron door plumbed into irregular arched opening in stucco gatehouse. Finished product is perfect. Alan and Adrian were on time and worked skillfully for a long, hot day. They are professional and caring craftsmen.

I worked with Becky who helped me get the design just right. I liked that the quality of the door was higher than other manufactures. Becky worked with me to get the right price and door. The time line to reach us went a little long but it worked out since we were new construction. You have to know they custom make these out of area so they rely on skilled trades. So if you want a stock door you will get it in a quick timeline, if not, the wait is worth it. They showed up when scheduled and the touch up person was proactive in making the follow up appointment, The icing on the cake is how BEAUTIFUL the door is. Heavy iron with excellent color and feel. We love that we can open the glass and that we could choose what kind of glass

Please do your homework before using this company. We ordered double doors and a fireplace cover. They forgot to order the fire place cover. Months later we get a call asking if they can come and reassure. Weeks after that needed to confirm yet again what we wanted. We have not heard from them again. Yet they were prompt to collect payment. Worst company and I do not recommend. Never finished the job.

Spent over $5,000 on a front door. Virtually every year for the last 5 years, they have come and touched up the flaking paint. Three other firms have verified that the door was not properly primed. Finally, the owner, committed to fix the door properly. On the scheduled day, they did not show at the agreed upon time. When we called, we were told that the OWNER has said the warranty was off. What warranty? This should have been corrected in the first year. We were never showed a warranty or signed one. The OWNER does not return calls. We are having another firm correct what this firm would not. Next step was to the BBB. It got results!!11/22/14 After the owner, realized that they should take care of this issue, the company resolved the issue to our satisfaction. We just wished it hadnt taken so much time to come to this conclusion.

Do not use this company! They are slow and unreliable. We contracted for a very small, simple project. A company rep came out and gave us an estimate, and collected our payment of ½ the project price (the other half being due upon installation). Once they had our payment, we never heard from them again. I had to repeatedly contact them over a one month period: finally we got an installation date.The installation date finally arrived, but nobody showed up at the scheduled time. After waiting for hours, I called them. The man who answered our call was super apologetic and promised that he would be at our house within the hour. So we continued to sit and wait. He never came, and our calls to him later that day were not answered. We wasted an entire day waiting for this service that never came. A few days later, he called us and was so sorry about how he had stood us up. He promised to be at my house “in 15 minutes” to complete our installation. An hour and a half later, someone finally showed up. They installed our railing, and then left without a word. They did not give us an opportunity to inspect the installation and be sure it was satisfactory. I just happened to look outside to see how things were progressing, just in time to see their truck drive away, without a word to us – not to apologize for previously standing us up, not to see if the installation was satisfactory, not a word. The customer service from this company was the worst I have experienced in many years. They will take your money and then delay, delay, delay on your installation. They don’t return phone calls and will stand you up without any excuse. Avoid this company!

Ive been working with San Marcos Iron Doors for about two years trying to complete a simple order.Instead of giving all the details, Ill tell you this:Their billing department hounded me for final payment before the work was completed to my satisfaction on a regular basis.Their first rep, LeeAnn, lied to me on every occasion she could.They tried convince me that I didnt even know what a straight line or a gap was.Finally, they sent Allen. He was FANTASTIC! He listened and took care of the issues . He is the heart of that company. Had it not been for him my next steps would have been legal action.BTW-the billing department emailed my final invoice minutes after Allen left. I wonder how they would react ifI treated them the way they did me and took two years to finally pay them. JK-I paid them and going d riddance.Now Im looking lfor another company to do the rest of the work Id like done.I give the company as a whole zero stars. I give Allen FIVE.

I bought 4 steel doors from them for a new build, the service and installation was terrible. Many dates were delayed which held up our project. Now that they are installed within less than a year they are already rusting on the inside. I have contacted the company and Jennifer multiple times without response. The rubber seals were installed incorrectly so I have a huge gap in the corners of the doors that I was out to replace myself. Very disappointed in the quality as well as service.

Ordering and paying for a San Marcos Iron Door went smoothly, however after receiving the door the Service Department compromises the integrity of this company. My Exterior Door Rusts, Lock Tumbler Fell Out, When Pulling the door closed the door jerks back open. I recently scheduled a Service Call whereby service was scheduled on a Saturday, 12 - 3 pm. No one arrived or called. The following Monday another Service Call was scheduled for Tuesday 2 - 5 pm. Once again no one arrived or called. I called the company and they had no answer as to why I am still waiting, 6:00 pm. Thus far I am not happy I chose this company.

Everything is great until you have issues. Service dept never responded emails, multiple phone calls and messages. Poorly installed door cost me thousands in home repairs. They never responded, called me back or even apologized. Do not use them. You will regret it.
