I made 2 different purchases with Clays. Walked in to see if I could get my galaxy radio looked at as she was sickly. Lol Clay got to my baby and had her feeling healthier than shes ever been within several hours. This guy knows his stuff. After seeing all the good reviews, I figured what the heck. Im here to say Im unbelievably happy with his services. No, it wasnt dirt cheap, but its now working better than it ever did from the factory. Had to give 3 stars. The shop did a good job on the peak and tune. Unfortunately the coax cable he builds and sells was garbage. Both ends came apart when removing coax to another truck. Due to him only being open Mon-Fri and me working Mon-Fri I can’t get in for a fix. I ordered a Wilson coax from Amazon. It seems much better built.

As a trucker my time is limited. I bought A Galaxy 98vhp from clay. And I cannot be more satisfied with the radio and service. I installed myself had to call clay for technical support and he was more than helpful. If I could give them a 10 I would. Thanks clay and to all your techs. Frustrated.........Ive used Clays services numerous times. Im always told, first come, first served. If you leave your CB, it will be a couple weeks, so get there early, and wait. So, today, arrived early, first one in the door......well guess what....policy change. Yesterday, peeps left their cb for repair, paid a premium to get their unit fixed first thing this morning, so......im at the back of the line. I offered to pay the premium now, as no one else was there, so I could get taken care of now, but that wasnt acceptable . Dont bother calling, I called several times, noone ever answers, and a call back doesnt happen. Now for the good news.......I like Clay, and the work has always been satisfactory, when you finally reach your point in line.

Bought a galaxy and was having troubles out it and about a week or so after having it contacted them to get the radio fixed they said I had to contact galaxy. Was really disappointed they wasnt will to stand behind the work.

If you want it done correctly then bring it to Clays in San Antonio Tx. He is VERY BUSY and does not hire hacks to fix radios. I’ve been a customer many for many years because of the quality of his work! The installer Adam is top shelf as well.

Talked with Clay when I drove in from Newton Iowa. Had visited Walcott Radio on I 80 and was not impressed at all with their not wanting to explain anything about the radio I was interested in. Clay took the time when I inquired about the Stryker 955HPC and why it would be an excellent choice for what I was going to be using it for.Picked up the radio the next day and installed it later that afternoon in Bandera.What an excellent radio!!So far Ive had nothing but compliments on the audio quality as well as excellent signal reports when using it on the LSB/USB channels from several different countries as well as all over the United States with the DX conditions we have had lately.The Stryker 955HPC will punch through the DX over other stations using various added on amps with only the radio and its clean modulation the way I have it set up on my vehicle!!Big thanks to Clay for sure!!

Ordered cobra 29 xl with high watt mod. Recieved radio 4 days later packed extra nice. Radio talks better than Ive ever had before. Had a question about radio once recieved called customer support and question was a answered right away! Will never purchase radio or equipment from anyone else. Clays is a absolutely the best!

New to the cb world. Got cb installed with antenna looks great sounds great just wish someone would have gone over it with me being new to this. I know I should have asked questions but dont even know what questions to ask.

Was a big fan of clays, dropped off the radio in december. Was told radio would be ready before January. They dont answer phone calls (even when you leave a message). I cancelled my order in February when I finally got a hold of them. They didnt seem interested in keeping my business since they are backed up with work because the Capitol got attacked....Im not kidding. Now I spent money shipping a broken radio back home, not to mention the waste of time.

Excellent service and quick turn around, took in my poor old worn out Cobra 25 and it wasnt worth fixing. Clay explained everything to me before diag or repairs were started and even worked with me on moving the Connex board from my old 25 to my New Cobra 29. I had many questions on setting up a base station and hes full of valuable information on how to do it properly and how to do it cost effectively. Ill definitely be back and reccomend him to others.

Clay and staff did an excellent job helping with equipment selection, prep, and then installation of both the CB and my own UHF (HAM) radio units.My RAM truck had no spare space for either of the new units, unless I wanted them on my dash - which I did not - but Adam did a phenomenal job getting creative with unit and mic placement. Very subtle, easily covered when parked, and very functional - I love it. Im thrilled with their service and assistance. The equipment selection at their shop was extensive beyond all the makes/models of radios, to include assorted choices of each accessory type among mics, speakers, power supplies, antennas, cabling, mounting accessories - everything needed in multiple choices. Im thrilled with my solutions.

Ordered a radio online in the morning and end of day clay called to let me know it was sold out said it might be 3 weeks before he could get it and if I wanted to wait or cancel he gave me that choice so I said I’ll wait because before he took the money he wanted me to know what was going on so with said that should tell others that clays radio shop it’s out for money there out for Quality and reputation of being the best in Texas.

Got my Stryker 655 about 3 yrs ago or so, no issues whatsoever. Get nothing but compliments . Receive sensitivity is to my liking and it swings about 80 watts. Will be eventually sending in my 497 for repairs due to bad set up from GI joes. Highly recommend these guys.

Robert and His apprentice did the most totally awesome Antenna and radio installation. The workmanship easily surpasses anything performed by the engineers at NASA. I bought a Galaxy 98 VHP from a online hotshot. I should have bought it at Clays.It had Issues and appears the tuning work was done by a Chimpanzee with a bottle of Scotch in one hand and a soldering iron in the Other. Luckily Clay was able properly tune my radio and even found a factory defect which he corrected.This shop gets 5 stars which is the best Google lets me do. In reality the shop cannot be measured on any conventional scale known to man and is at a level of greatness of Biblical purportions.

I had a bearcat 980 and cobra 29 lx peaked and tuned. Truck rewired and a new Wilson 5000 installed and tuned. It was all completed in 1/2 a day. During radio checks and communications during the next week. I am getting out loud and proud with just the 4 watts on the bearcat. 8 miles has been my max so far. Very professional installation. I would use them again.

Phenomenal! super fast turnaround, shipped out two business days after ordering which included some mod work. galaxy 979f (fits in freightliner cascadia cb cubby, same size as cobra 29), rt sounds great, xt audio was complimented, got a radio check immediately from a spot where i pretty much would never get before. great swing even without a loud AHHHHHHDIOOOOOOOOO. It was my 1st time doing business with these guys & I have to admit I was impressed with their knowledge of radios. I had a CB radio installed the other day, the installer did a great job & a great guy to talk with as well. He served in the military years back, so we had great conversation during the installation. Just picked up a President Lincoln 2 plus. I compared the price to online competition and it was extremely fair. The staff was super knowledgeable and friendly. Shipped my Cobra 29 ltd to them for high wattage mod. I couldnt be more happy with the results. Radio puts out strong, loud, crisp and clear! Receiving is better as well. Worth every penny!

The customer service was excellent and professional. The tech Adam was very knowledgeable, professional, and polite. Prices are reasonable. The staff was very helpful and attentive to all my concerns. Im very pleased with the work done.

Went there to get my swr readings down low since I was having trouble doing it. They said they could do it for $35. I had all brand new installations done myself, they couldn’t get the readings down either and they replaced my new things with their old and used parts and still couldn’t get readings down. Clay the owner said I would not be charged since they could not fix it either. As I was leaving I was told by one of his employees that I would be charged something for a service fee. Well the fee ended up being more than what they told me would be a $35 job. They charged me $86 and some change for a job they couldn’t complete! That makes no sense to charge a person more for something they can’t do! $35 completed and $85 incapable to complete is s big difference! Reported them for fraud to my credit card company and was refunded my money back by my credit card company. Clays radio shop is a complete ripoff! Maybe the radio shop out in front of them can do a better job!So you’re saying you were going to charge me a $170 for a $35 job that you couldn’t complete? Nor did you or your helper mention any other additional charges! Yeah, that’s fraud!!! I have a camera on my truck where you stood right in front of it saying there would be no charge. Would you like to see it? My credit card company has and that’s why they refunded me. You’re 3 or 4 hour job you are talking about only took me 30 minutes to do myself. You’re business tactics are unethical.

This is the best radio shop I know of in the country. They might be a couple dollars more than the other guys but it is worth the money. You will get your radio back performing at the top of its potential. Fast turnaround on repairs and very professional and knowledgeable. They even know a few tricks that the others dont. Clay has a new Forever customer in me. I actually was sk impressed I didnt just buy a new radio I had them fix my general lee so I would have a backup just I case. This way I wont be forced to go somewhere else to get repairs while on the road!If you want a top notch radio. This is the place!

Clays shop is the only radio shop I will use. I had questions about putting a radio in a jeep they game me the best bang for the buck. I drove 2 hours twice because of the excellent in knowledge. Looking forward to buying another radio real soon.

If you want your radio Tuned correctly you must go here!!! Just a great bunch of guys that know their stuff. They have good deals. Clays Radio Shop has a Great selection of the Top Brand radios in 10m & 11m. Need an external speaker? Mic? Power Mic? Lighter power plug? Yep they have accessories stocked. Their antenna section is stocked with only the best. They have all sizes, from top load, mid-coils and base loads. I even saw a base station antenna with ground plane kit. Go! Check it out!!

I had done business on line years ago when Clays was in north Texas. Now they are open in San Antonio. I went into the shop to get a couple of radios checked out. The counter help is outstanding. They know what questions to ask. A short while later I received a call from them telling me they were finished. The service is the same now as it was years ago. I would go back easily and I would definitely recommend them to all.

Great place to. Actually saved my radio. Stryker 447 hp. Drivers DO NOT GO TO JERICHO in Bakersfield. He will destroy your radio. Thanx to Clay for saving mine by custom making a part for it. Definitely will come back for next purchase of a radio.

Great friendly atmosphere and service. Allen and Robert were both informative and helpful in figuring out the problem with my radio. Once Robert worked on it, he went beyond my expectations and made sure I was satisfied with the sound and quality of the radio. Will definitely be back for any repair work or new toy purchases.

Had a Friday appointment which I couldn’t keep and they worked out new appointment. Had a few minute hold up while they finished another install. Discussed all options and cost with me. Very busy but still courteous. Very clean install which worked well on trip home. Would recommend them to anyone.

If I could give 10 stars I would. I took in my Galaxy 98 CB radio that was purchased, installed, peaked and tuned elsewhere but the peaking and tuning wasnt done properly. Clay fixed the issue. When I first went in I was getting 25 watts on the swing but am now pulling 200 watts. He got my SWR to 1.08 which is excellent. I was in and out in no time. The staff are a great group of people to do business with, absolutely excellent service.

Not recommend. Price was way higher than quoted and the front desk help seemed just to make up the diagnosis. Beware

This is a little premature (Ive only just paid for the repairs and havent got the radio back yet) but so far Im very satisfied with them. I sent 2 2950s that had given up the ghost and only one was worth repairing. I dont know if I can edit this once I get my radios back, but if I do, I will bump this up a star. Polite and businesslike in any contact Ive had to date.

Tried to purchase from them but charged my credit card but said I was denied. Then my address wasn’t verified. Gave up trying to work with them when they wanted to bill my credit card for more than my purchase. If their reasons are for protecting against fraud issues they are losing honest paying customers.

Took clay my galaxy 98vhp to get repaired after it stopped sending out a signal. I could hear everyone talking but I couldn’t talk back to them. He had it up and running better than it ever has. After 25 years of using clay I do not recommend using his shop to repair a basket on a bicycle much less a radio his prices are outrageous and his work is half the quality of what it used to be I sent the same radio there three times to get the problem fixed among other items I sent I also purchased a radio from him straight from the shelf should be good to go and it wasn’t They just fly through the radios and don’t fix the problems I will take my business elsewhere from now on Clay you should’ve stayed in Mingus

Arrived around one thirty signed up to be placed in line .they said it would take two hours for our Turn so we killed time and went to wash trucks. Came back and waited until like fifteen till 4...mind you thats the time they close. they told us they wouldnt have time to do it today because they got held up on another job. they asked if if we could come back tomorrow but we are not from here. so we didnt get what we wanted and waited for nothing. now I understand its Friday and everyone wants to get home early but what we wanted done doesnt take long. (swr tuning)you decide what rating they should get. first time here and last.

Everything showed up in 1 package, and was very well packaged, in a fairly timely matter, only thing keeping me from 5 stars is they were a little hard to get ahold of on the phone but Clay was rather quick to answer my emails regarding progress of order. I had my 29LX worked on. Granted it took a few weeks because I had bent knobs and he had to order them, but it was worth the wait. I need something else done to my radio and a cord on my CB mic. I wont take my radio anywhere else.
