We went in to find a new instrument for our daughter. The man that helped us was so patient. He helped our daughter find what fit for her and her needs. The price was great. We did go somewhere else first and they did t compare at all. Their prices were high and they had no selection. I have always had great experiences here!!
Don’t remember his name. But the clerk in the drum department pulled two heads for me the day before. When I got there he had them ready and took care of the transaction. He had me out of the store in record time, and answered my questions . Awesome job, thanks.

Recently I entrusted an heirloom Kamaka ukulele for repair to the San Antonio luthier, Mr. Paul Capello. He did outstanding work, took the time to explain his method of repair and provided timely updates. Highly recommended!
If I could give 0 stars then I would. Not a single employee gave me the time of day! I was going to make a significant purchase from the audio department and there was no one working that section even after waiting for 30 min. I went to another department and was even standing in front of two employees while they had a conversation trying to get their attention. They looked at me and never even said hello.I went to the front desk and asked the guy there, and he very lackadaisically said he would Page someone. He never did.Beyond awful customer service.The place was a dump too.Take your money elsewhere!I won’t be back!

Went in on 2/27/2021 on the hunt for a guitar with a floating trem. I found one I really liked, but the bridge was yanked all the way out, maybe from customers tinkering with it or that was how it was sold to the store. Shane was nice enough to take about 10 minutes out of his shift (and while the store was a little busy too) to get the bridge leveled out and adjust the action for me the best he could, free of charge. Super nice of him :) It played like a beast when I got it home thanks to him. He even found a whammy bar that was usable with the guitar and gave it to me, also free of charge. If Im ever on the hunt for another axe to add to my never-ending collection, Ill make sure to stop by here again!

Just called to ask what was the price range for a percussion kit. The man on the phone let a big sigh out and said they range in price. He said, is it for a beginner or what? I explained that my child is going to start band and needed one. He said, well they range from 2-500. Please try and be more kind to people that need help. Thats why I called for you to give me more information You treated me like I was a bother.
The guitar technician Paul was super friendly very knowledgeable and very attentive towards my needs and repairing my guitar. The front counter, the first person that greets you obnoxious rude with zero customer service knowledge. I would highly recommend any individuals representing Sam Ash music at the front counter to have some sort of customer friendly service training. One order multiple.deliveries, I ended up purchasing a few items elsewhere. I will try the physical store next time and then order what isnt in stock online. Fulfillment center needs improvement.

Abel is super!! Ive intention to speak with him concerning sound system, this day I was keyboard shopping. Several times he passed through the area, I think, to be available if a guest had a question or needed assistance. As it were, he walked through and the very second I looked at him without hesitation he came over. In his reserved manner (not really Lol) he answered each question but only from a knowledge sense, also gave his honest insight and thoughts which I appreciated. I say not reserved really because it was only a few minutes after the Q&A that our interaction was more like friends. Of course things got hilarious when he rolled out with this 10 yard box to somehow put inside my Chrysler 200!! Thanks to his and my best friends amazing critical thinking and problem resolution skills we (they) got it in; I was still laughing at the matter of this 6ft box going inside my little car so I was of no help! Long story short Abels knowledge going beyond the product itself to manufacturing and production and honesty was the best! Ive managed CSRs in office and food service for 15+ years and Id gladly have him on my team working toward management!! I look forward to returning to speak with him about sound system for a friends church where Im Dir of Mu for the time being, Im sure itll be just as enjoyable, pleasant, comfortable and satisfying fun!!See ya soon Mr A

I purchased a Yamaha MODX8. The salesperson, Roland, was awesome. He got me in and out of there quickly and didnt try too up-sell me on things I didnt need. Sam Ash was cleaner, more organized, and had more inventory than that other well known place.

Phillip was awesome. As soon as I walked in with my guitar to trade in, he pointed at me and said Whats up? He gave me an excellent deal on my trade in for a new guitar. He did all the paper work quickly and got my new axe ordered.It was really busy on Saturday and you could tell they were stressing a bit but it was still a good experience. No joke, this is the place I usually go because my credit line is with these jokers. If I didnt have to, Id go to Guitar Center. The guitar dept workers are the worst and I think one of them is the manager. While they arent rude, they most definitely are not helpful or friendly. Ive seen better customer service at McDonalds from 16/17 year high school students.
I needed a starter harmonica set for a future R&B star (ok hes 2 yrs. old but everything he sees is a microphone or a musical instrument so hes a musician) and Nick was very helpful with a great set that was priced right. Went today, June 7, 2020 because my son wants to learn guitar. A lot of guitars that we looked at for his price range. Customer service was awesome, he helped with picking out a good guitar for first timers. He even showed us a package that included the guitar with amp, straps, case, pick, and cables. Gave us a great deal, my son is excited ro learn now!
Wow! This makes the other place look like Costco. So, heres the deal. If all you need is a specific item, you dont have to go to Amazon, they can order it for you if they dont have it. If you want it RIGHT NOW, they can help you with that too. Project? They have solutions upon solutions and EXPERTISE to guide you. I found my place!!! I didnt need someone to put me in it (they were SO rude at that other music center.) I needed someone knowledgeable to walk me through and figure it out with me. They did not tap their foot impatiently or tell me they needed to help someone else who knows what they want. They listened. They cared. They had everything I needed. THIS is that kind of place!
After an unsatisfactory visit to a competitor a few blocks away, we were fortunate enough to have Jorge offer to help not long after entering. Professional and knowledgeable without trying to steer a decision. Great person to work with, our purchase was a very nice value, and will definitely visit again.

This would have been a 1 star if it wasn’t for Roland. I came in interested in a bass guitar everyone I asked for assistance acted like they had more important things to do I waited about 5 - 10 mins to be helped. I almost left but I found Roland. Roland was very friendly and very informative. I had a lot of questions being a beginner to playing a bass and he answered everything in detail and he renewed my excitement into learning how to play guitar. You need more people like him. I’m definitely asking for Roland when I come back and he is the only reason I will be coming back to your location. Thanks Again Roland!!!!
Went into the store just looking for a keyboard stand but came out buying a beginners guide for adults for learning keyboard as well. Store was better than i would have imagined. Saw individuals actually learning and using equipment gave me confidence to do that one day once i am better on the keyboard.

I always have a great experience and have been going to this store since its very opening day in San Antonio. I have preferred Sam Ash over Guitar Center for quite some time. I tend to make my way to Sam Ash for everything I need. However, when I went in yesterday, it just felt different. It took several minutes of me standing by a register for someone to come help me. No, it was not even a busy time, I really did not see anybody working. When someone finally came to help, I had to ask for prices on an item because nothing had prices on it. He went ahead and told me that they were all going to be around $50 (bass drum head). I found one that actually had a price tag of $27.50, but when I took it up to purchase, the clerk said this is actually $31. As much as I wanted to point out that the price tag was on it and it should be honored, I had no time to argue, so I accepted it, especially since it was $20 less than what he said they were all going to be anyway.I had to return back today. This was my fault as I bought the wrong size head and just had to switch it out. I walked in to what felt like an empty store. Again, the fact that there were no prices kept me in the store longer. A clerk came up. He almost insisted on a refund which was weird. I had to pull out my phone and search for every single item I was looking at to check pricing myself. Meanwhile, the 3 clerks that were there (one guys name tag said Bass Yeti) were all having a discussion at the front of the store. I felt a tinge disappointed these past two days going to Sam Ash. The experience has changed a bit.

Open space, biiig selection new and used gear + clearance. You can touch and use the gear moderately (no like guitarcenter, employee play the instrument for you because you cant play, ridiculous). Love hearing people trying different instrument.

Wanted to pick up this guitar, but a huge step ladder was in front, so i looked for an employee to move it. couldnt find anyone who worked there for about 10 minutes. finally found someone who could help me, and he led me to an amp so i could plug in. plugged up, and the amp had a bunch of feedback on the clean setting. decided to flip to the gain channel and this extremely loud ringing burst though the store. someone obviously doesnt make sure their amps or guitars are ready to try. was and am extremely disappointed.

My bass guitar electronics needed some attention... I called the store to see if they will be able to fixed it. The person that answered said yes. I arrived to the store and at the front desk I spoke with the employee he stated that he was the person that I talked to and he was going to do the work for me. It only took him 10 minutes to fix my bass guitar... best costumer service in town. Please just check them out you wont regret it.

I was referred to Sam Ash by another vendor whom I had great service from. CSR was good. The Manager taking care of the issues I had was great.Bottom line, due to their negligence, its been about 3 weeks to get a synthesizer/keyboard? Unacceptable even for a beginner like me. No return call even after a detailed message? No big loss I am not a BIG spender!!! Maybe if I was going to buy over 5k worth of stuff? Regardless, lesson re-learned, bigger business doesnt care.

I like Sam Ash, but geez, every time I go in, Im waiting by the checkout counter forever with nobody in sight. Even when I order online, Ill just stand there and not see one employee around for 10 minutes. Theyre always in some other room doing who knows what. But theyre friendly and I like the selection.

A disappointing experience honestly. The rather large young man with the giant plugs and fair share of ink really needs to work on his people skills and less on what I can only imagine he perceives to be the cool factor. After being told that the price I received on Reverb was on account of the platform selling used gear, I mentioned that it was indeed new and Reverb works with multiple outlets. He quickly changed his tune and stated that he knew that Reverb also sold new gear. He was also anything but helpful to a gentleman that was asking for audio advice, and from what I could discern, its probably because the clerk knows very little about audio. I was also prepared to purchase an Earthquaker pedal, but the young man that I presume was supposed to be working the guitar accessories counter also didnt care about first impressions. After my inquiry on a couple of pedals, he made no attempt to further the discussion, ask about my needs, or even offer to pull them from the case. He scampered off, and the end result is a bad review. The only reason its not 1 star is on account of my Guitar Center experience right before my Sam Ash visit ... it was worse. Back to Reverb it is.

The store was crowded, but the employees were quick to get to us after helping other customers. They were very helpful in identifying and solving the issues I was having with my wireless mic. I was glad I had bought the warranty about 10 months ago, as a wire had gone bad and I got a new mic.

Fantastic experience from start to finish. They had listed a (barely) used guitar Ive been drooling over for a while on a third-party website at a reasonable cost. I called the store beforehand as Id be coming in from Austin, and Mike held the item for me. There were a billion amps available to test the guitar through, and each department throughout the store looked to have an impressive selection of new and used gear. In the same transaction, I also sold several pieces and got a satisfactory return toward my purchase. It was quite busy in the store on this Saturday but the employees were helpful, professional and efficient as could be. I highly recommend!
I came in to take advantage of the swap/trade in deal they had going on. Everyone was very helpful. I ended up trading in some old gear that was taking up room in the closet for new gear that is actually going to get played.
Yes, it was a great experience. Sam and Ron were informative and answered all of our questions. They provide us with the best options availability. We also went to Alamo Music and had to ask for help, whereas Sam Music was attentive and so many more choices. Purchases were great too. I walked into the Sam Ash location off Loop 410 at McCullough in San Antonio one Friday, expressing my frustration with my Aria Pro II guitar that I actually bought brand new almost 36 years ago but could never keep it in tune and it just sat in a closet all this time and I was fairly certain that I should just trade it in for a new guitar. That is, until I met Sergio.Fast forward, a couple of hours later, I walked out of this Sam Ash store with my same Aria Pro II guitar in hand with a new inspiration to play it and a new friend named Sergio!Sergio happened to also own the same Aria Pro II electric guitar as I, so he knew everything about it, then he tested it out, and then I believe he sacrificed his lunch break and set it up fully (and properly) for me so that I could take it home that same day (since I was from out of town).Needless to say, I was simply ecstatic and blown away by this generosity of time and the genuine interest in my making the right decision that Sergio provided, so I am now a Sam Ash Music store fan for life!Thank you Sergio!
Good location and friendly staff however it was clear there were not enough associates to go around to all the customers who needed assistance. When we were assisted, he (I cannot recall his name) was extremely knowledgeable about the product we were interested in. Recommend going during slower hours if you need to ask a lot of questions.
This store has the worst customer service. I simply needed to return a cable and perform a refund. I waited for over 30 minutes and was not helped. Multiple employees were standing around not helping anyone while the drums/audio was overrun with customers. Managers were not visible. Amazon was over $20 cheaper anyways. Will not be returning.
What sets this place apart is their customer service, they are top notch and they really are professionals. Jacob did a fantastic job when I made a major purchase and should be commended and promoted. Sam Ash is the best in San Antonio by a very large margin. Went looking for saxophone for our 11 year old grandson who is in band. Sam Ash had the best deals for new saxophones. We went to the Sam Ash store located at loop 410/McCullough (San Antonio, Texas) because close to our house. Was assisted by Jorge and he explained to my grandson and us many details pertaining to the instrument. Jorge was very patient and helpful and answered all our questions before we decided to invest on this instrument. The store offered a wide array of instruments and brands; very nice store and all the employees were very friendly and professional.

This guy took time and was patient with a dad and his sons new adventure into drumming.
