I purchased a beautiful baby grand at Alamo Music. Mr. Kevin Higgins was wonderful to work with. He took the time to instruct me on the many different piano features, brands, manufacturer’s history and piano sound. He directed me to make the best selection based on my home acoustics and frankly I was impressed with his vast knowledge and experience in music. Moreover, he is an amazing musician and played a beautiful original song that almost made me cry with the emotion he can evoke when playing the pianos at the store. I couldn’t be happier with my experience at Alamo music. Mr Higgins is praiseworthy. I highly recommend Alamo music and Mr. Higgins if you want to make the best decision on your piano purchase.

I give Alamo Music Center a 5 star!! I called for a price on a accordion, and a sales person by the name of Gary Smith answered. He was very polite and informative. He answered all my questions, and I agreed to buy the accordion. He was very helpful and the process of it all was quick and easy. My boyfriend and I picked up the accordion at the store, because I wanted to meet Gary in person, and tell him thank you for his professional help, but they do offer shipping. Needless to say, my boyfriend (a talented musician) ) is very pleased with his new accordion.

I was looking for the new Fender Kenny Wayne Shepherd Transparent Faded Sonic Blue USA made Stratocaster with block inlays and stumbled across the in depth Youtube review that Alamo posted when I was searching for reviews of this guitar. My usual stores were out here in Indianapolis and my back up online go to stores were also out of stock. I saw they had some in stock and their on sale price was almost $200 lower than my go to stores! I started speaking to an Alamo rep online through their chat feature and he even called me to answer any questions I had including how it came with a gorgeous hard case. Amazing customer service! John and Cooper (?!) were both super friendly and helpful throughout my experience. I was searching (with much difficulty) for a mandolin as a gift for my father. I called about one I saw on their website and John set it aside for me for a couple of days before I was able drive down to San Antonio from Denton. After arriving and checking out the mandolin, John wrapped and boxed it for me, knowing it was a gift. I am super pleased with the product, price, and most importantly, the service. If you want to purchase a Taylor guitar, then buy it from here! My experience with Alamo Music Center was fantastic. Gary was super helpful, and all of Alamos YouTube videos that introduce, compare & contrast, and demonstrate the features of their guitar offerings are spectacular. The nice thing for me about purchasing a guitar from Alamo Music instead of another well-known supplier (Im purposely not mentioning any names here) is that I knew that guitar was 100% new (other music stores will have an unpurchased guitar with dirty strings, covered with fingerprints, and usage by who knows how many people and they will call it new). I highly recommend Alamo Music Center and consider them as the best kept secret in the music industry.

There is a free parking lot near their building. Its small so it may be hard to get a spot sometimes but we were able to today. We walked in and were immediately helped. It seemed very organized and everyone was very friendly. This was honestly the most valued I have felt at any music store in town. Thank you!

We went to purchase an instrument for our church for indoor and outdoor use. We were initially dealing with Gary Smith who turned us over to their keyboard specialist. After not hearing from him or Gary we were put in contact with Kevin Higgins who was fantastic. He met with us for over an hour allowing me to try different digital pianos. He was not high pressure and was wonderful to work with, responding quickly to my emails. After being put in touch with Kevin, everything went smoothly. This store has great pianos; used and new and a very friendly staff!! Kevin and Ted were great support to me when I organized my studio recitals at the store. As a long time customer of Alamo Music, it pains me to write this review. I have been a customer for over 10 years and have made purchases of close to $8,000.00 through the years. Recently, I asked Alamo Music to order a Bass and an Amp for me (they were not in stock). I knew going in that it might take a while, but I figured the company would keep me in the loop. However, every time I called, I had to review the order with them again. In each call they told me that they would check on the order and get back to me. Each time, I was not contacted as promised. We went into the store a few weeks ago to talk with someone in person and was told the Amp was in the store. I had just talked to someone the day before and was not informed the Amp had arrived. I have left messages for the sales person, general manager, and CEO, but none of them call me back. We finally found the Bass on Amazon and ordered it. I called to cancel the order and was promised a refund. I checked the statement a few days later and I did receive a refund, but was shorted. I can not tell you how disappointed I am in my dealings with Alamo Music. I purposely ordered the instruments with them out of loyalty and this is the thanks I get.

We were looking for a piano and had some concerns with the delivery. Our piano teachers referred us to Alamo music and suggested we discuss our concerns with them. Had a great experience buying a guitar at the downtown location. They take Covid seriously and were by appointment only, which I appreciated. I was a little bit of a needy customer since I wanted to compare 4 different guitars, but they didnt bat an eye - the guys were really friendly and let me sit and play without ever pushing me to buy something or making me feel like an imposition.I ended up special ordering a guitar and they were great about the logistics and still gave me a discount off MSRP. Pickup was a breeze - overall a fantastic shop.

The piano was exactly as described, and I got a ton of accurate pictures from the site, and from Kevin. The deal I got on the piano was top class? And the transaction was very smooth. The hard part is waiting for such a large item to arrive, but it was definitely worth the wait.

My experience was less rewarding than most of these reviews.Via email, I sent various questions regarding a potential purchase (over $3.7k worth). Of all things, I get a reply via text. Most impersonal. The first text said he could help me and did answered one question. I text replied about the other questions. He said he was reading it now. REALLY! A few more answers trickled in. I again prompted about other questions pending answers to. His delay was he was working with store customers and get back to me. I guess I was not considered a customer. It has been 3 days with two un-answered questions.Typically, I buy my gear from another ‘sweet’ music store. But I was compelled after reviewing many helpful video’s, to support Alamo Music. Never again.

I left my Vintera Strat for a simple pickup replacement and setup that took a month and had NO WORK done except taking it apart. checked on it a week before I gave up waiting and it was exactly in the same condition when i picked it up. On average my guitars are ready to go in a week or 2. They have a 1 month abandonment policy i was getting no updates and getting nervous and frustrated with the terrible customer service. Every time I called I got the run around and when they patched me to service I was never answered just a machine. I picked it up totally disassembled

Please note, this is during covid times.I went to Sam ash and found a Taylor 614 that was beyond beautiful sounding. I went home and pondered life a bit. See, I just started playing less than a year ago and was in a different market. I tried the taylor academy series,... loved the feel, loved the neck but the sound was not for me. I ended up with a really nice Alvarez Artistic series. Has a lot of taylor qualities like the arm bevel.Now, almost a year later I couldnt get that neck out of my mind. Went to the store and tried the academy and for me, Alvarez was the right move. However, I saw a 614 and said, hmmm. Love struck.I went home and pondered and went back that weekend to see what the wood was and there was a 214. Hmmm I thought. My buddy and I did multiple blind tests and the 214 would win out everytime.I go online and because I watch Alamo Music on youtube, went to their site and set up an appointment. I asked for at least two hours. They didnt have the plus so they brought out a dlx, I played it once and said...this is it.Best service, best prices, supporting a youtube channel I love, and lastly, support local business. Im selling my Alvarez to go buy another 214 for the office. It just cant compare to the taylor.Thanks for a great experience and see you very soon.

Customer service is unparalleled. As soon as I walked in, and older gentleman asked what I could be helped with. Everyone there was prompt and courteous. The aforementioned gentleman, who also helped me with selecting my daughter’s gift,(Ukulele) was even kind enough to tell me about a group that gets together at a community center and is taught by two Hawaiian sisters. I’ll definitely be looking into his suggestion. The guy at the register was very helpful and offered to tune the Ukulele. Wish I could’ve gotten their names. I will most definitely be returning.

I purchased a piano on the website. After trying to contact the company several times to find out the status. A day or two later, i was told it was sold to someone else. Reluctantly, I agreed to purchase another piano. I was charged promptly. It has now been nearly a month, and I still have not received the piano. If ordering online, think twice.

I went in to get my daughter a digital piano for her birthday and Nick and the other staff were so awesome! I’m not very knowledgeable about musical instruments but their advice was very helpful. This was a great experience. So glad we went! After doing our internet research we went to buy a digital piano that we thought was right for our needs. After talking with Kevin Higgins and having our son play the digital pianos they had on the floor, we knew what we were thought we needed wasnt going to cut it. I found the online videos extremely helpful in making my decision. I called and spoke with John and ordered one. I told him I was a little concerned about buying a guitar without playing it first. He told me almost everyone here is a musician and would make sure I got a nice guitar. My guitar is AMAZING and I couldn’t be happier with the guitar and Alamo Music Center. Highly recommended them.

I live in woods of east Texas... far away from any music store. After searching the internet for a used grand piano, I came upon Alamo Music in San Antonio, Texas. I liked their online format. It was easy to use and very informative. I found a piano I liked and called the store. I spoke with Kevin, the manager of the piano section and told him what I was looking for. He was very friendly and helpful. I explained to him that the piano was a birthday gift for my wife and had to be delivered in time for her birthday. Even though I lived about 300 miles away, he had the piano delivered to me in three days. It arrived in perfect condition. The delivery guys were very professional, They covered our hardwood floors with mats to prevent any scratches. All in all, it was a really great experience. I recommend Alamo to anyone looking for a piano.

I have never been there before, but I was pleasantly surprised at what their store had to offer. I played on a Shigeru Kawai, as well as some Kawai, Steinway, and Baldwins that they had in the showroom. They eventually accepted a return and refunded me, but that also took a few followup emails to inquire about the status. Anyways, not the best but not the worse. Take it for what you will.This store is shady and does business unethically. Beware of the customer service here. I was speaking with an online salesman about a guitar. I asked to make sure that the item was new and he confirmed it. Then he proceeded with the sale, but behold instead of receiving a new guitar, I got a used one. Then he became very unresponsive to emails and phone calls. I would have to call him multiple times, leave voicemails, and he would only get back once every other week. This experience was so frustrating. I even requested to speak to the managers, but they are the same--never returning phone calls. It seems like this place works unethically from top to bottom.

I have been looking for the perfect guitar for myself, an older beginner. I checked out Alamos website and youtube videos as well as many other companies sites. These guys actually personally (AJ Medina) contacted me and took the time to communicate with me, answer my questions and give advice. Weve had the pleasure of being helped twice by Nick with purchases for our son. We purchased a percussion kit for 6th grade band, and also a Yamaha keyboard. My experience here was extremely educational and lively. Kevin, the piano man, loves his job and it shows. When I arrived with my daughter, Kevin talked to us like friends instead of customers, and made us very comfortable. He showed us every piano in our price range and explained all of the necessary information from the prices, to the interior of the pianos and how everything opperates in great detail. He even took the time to play some of his favorite tunes. From that, we understood well how the digital and acoustic pianos sound. Overall, it was a very personal experience. I took advantage of the Labor Day sales to get a ukulele. Im not familiar of what to start off, I seek advice with their staff. Gary Smith is pro in this. He helped me what ukulele to start off for practicing, which is a Cordoba Concert Ukulele (which I call her Phoenix). He was helpful in tuning Phoenix, and provided me information of whom to seek for practice and what groups are there. The staff were awesome in processing my purchase and other stuff I was looking for. I highly recommend this place! In addition, Alamo Music Center have a good room for recitals.

We recently ordered a digital piano through Kevin HIggins of Alamo Music Center. He was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, personable and made the entire deal a painless experience. It was almost TOO easy! The piano was delivered sooner than we expected (to Kerrville) and the deliverymen were polite and efficient -- had the piano set up in no time. We have absolutely no complaints about the entire transaction. I would recommend this business (and Kevin) in a heartbeat!

I bought a fender acoustasonic telecaster yesterday from Alamo music center in the down town and it was better then discribedAnd it was 550 less then the normal street price at 1550$ after taxThe guitar was described as a B-stock but it is in fact nothing wrong with it and it looks perfect and it was new in the box with everything was in the case
