I go here to buy and replace my issued gear and personal gear. I love their prices and staff. But keep in mind, ninety percent of their merchandise is Military oriented.

Don’t waste your time going here they have absolutely nothing for military No ranks, ribbons or unit crest!!! What a shame!!! tons of shelves are empty they have very little inventory Worst military store I’ve ever been in!!! The owner told me to try Armed Forces Supply right up the road they had a massive selection And offer military discounts there thank you very much to the store owner for referring me to this awesome place! Hate to leave a negative review but Military City Surplus is not a military surplus store and it sure doesn’t support a soldiers here at Fort Sam Houston!!

I went by there at 1:15pm today and open sign was not on. Appeared to not be open and looked abandoned. Not one car near the business.

HORRIBLE! ZERO STARS! Military City Surplus is the by far the worst military surplus store Ive ever been in. the gentleman that works there is nice but the store is done! I used to go here to get OCP for field ops and miscellaneous gear but as of today its the last time I walk in here. Ive watch the store deteriorate over the last several months. this is definitely not for military personnel also nothing is priced so you have to ask him how much everthing is! If you do want to head over there I suggest you call first because the answer will be I dont have it right now Best of luck guy.SMG. Rich

Went there doors locked during business hours and no one answered the phones

Are they open or are they closed? Sign and web site say 10-6 min-fri 11-5 sat. It’s 10:30 on a Tuesday no one is here. If you want to run a business be where you are supposed to be when you say you will. Especially if you are catering to the military community, we are early 5min early is late. I drove out of my way to come here, big disappointment. Don’t waste your time or gas, they don’t want your business.

Called yesterday and asked if they had any Navy pea coats, guy said they had one left. I asked him to check for size and it was just my size 40R. He held it back for me until I could get there an hour later. PERFECT coat and fit. Could not be happier. Staff was friendly and helpful. Store was full of cool stuff! HIGHLY recommend this place!

I hate leaving negative reviews but this place was a waste of my time and gas they have nothing in stock i have no clue how it stays in business. Head over to National Outdoors and Armed Forces Supply are the places to go you wont be disappointed

I checked out several different military surplus stores and I found this one was the best in San Antonio Tx area. The owner who was working the two days I went in there was very nice and very helpful. The prices are the lowest in town. The review some guy did saying they didnt have much of an inventory was not right and a troll for they have an excellent inventory.

Well stocked store with fair prices. Im completing 8 years of active duty military service and wanted to sell some of my stuff. I was hoping to make a little money while also putting the things to good use for someone else. The attendant bought about half of the stuff I brought in (did not want old ACU pattern for obvious reasons) and offered a decent price for what he selected. Worth a stop whether you are looking to buy or to sell.

This is one of the only Army surplus stores that I know of that actually will buy military gear including uniforms, bullet-resistant vest, CamelBaks excetera from military peaple and then resell them directly to the public. This place has great service great staff is easy to get to and is one of the first places you should find if youre trying to find gear.
