Placed an online order and was very disappointed. Maybe they treat their patrons better and have better presentation at their location but as for online orders not so much. I ordered a sausage, bacon, ham sandwich with egg and what I got was far less than that. Just enough sausage to look like it was on along with bacon but the rest of the sandwich it was non existent. The tea that was ordered as well was only milk and sugar and no tea. I understand that there can be mistakes however this is low and insulting.

My first ever review of anything. This place is bomb, but the blueberry muffins are an absolute joke. For the sake of BCB and all its patrons, I hope someone reads this and takes it into consideration. I’ve gotten the bb muffin 3 times, each time the muffin contains less than 5 blueberries. My muffin today had only 1. Completely ridiculous—communist. I wouldn’t leave a review if this place wasn’t worth. The food here is awesome. Chocolate chip muffin: awesome. Probably 20-40+ chocolate chips. But the blueberry muffin: one. A good muffin too. Would be perfect if there were an ample quantity of blubes. Please fix this. It’s heartbreaking.

Maybe others had bad moments here and there, but I love this place. People in San Diego seem to flock to Einstein bagels or the like. This saddens me wholeheartedly. This is blasphemy basically. Big City bagels is a whole completely different level. Their locks cream cheese actually has real pieces of lox in it and its super delicious. Theyre bialys though often under toasted are delightful. This is the best bagel shop I found in all of San Diego!Theyre ordering and waiting process is a bit intense but everything post covid seems to be functioning pretty poorly anyway.

Its a really good bagel place. I gave this 4 stars because they had my favorite tea which was weird that its served cold cause I prefer it hot. The bagel I got was great and the cinnamon toast muffin was also a favorite of mine. I would go back for that muffin. Cute little place, full of framed sayings on the walls. Pretty decent service they were nice and polite.

Just bad. The bagels are just bread... Not bagels. The everything tastes like nothing. The eggs are microwaved and or frozen. The cheese wasnt melted as the sandwich was barely hot. My sandwich had more pieces of paper in it than flavor as it was wrapped then cut with a dull knife. If you want a bagel sandwich go elsewhere. I cant speak for their coffee or anything else.

Ive spent a lot of time in New York and have eaten more NY bagels than I can count. BCB is the closest thing to a NY bagel shop that Ive ever found outside of NY, and I wanted to cry tears of joy when I realized how good it was. I knew it would be good when I walked in and saw that the shop was fairly small, with a semi-confusing line and ordering system (it might sound bad, but if you know NY bagel shops, you know why this is actually a good sign). I got the Mexicali and an iced latte. The bagel was absolutely delicious, and the latte was one of the best and strongest cups Ive coffee Ive had in San Diego. I personally say dont trust the bad reviews - most of them are delivery-related or talk about having to wait. In my opinion, the wait is worth it. And, contrary to some of the reviews, I found the staff to be quite pleasant, despite the fact that they were super busy. If you appreciate a legit NY bagel, come here. If you dont understand this review, stick to Starbucks 😉

Great selection of bagels and spreads to choose from, which has been the case for years with BCB. The team pays close attention to what you request, down to how you want your bagel toasted; something you might not find elsewhere. Parking can be a big issue, depending on the time of day you go, and the coffee is somewhat burnt in its flavor. Hence the 4 stars and not 5.

Food is good, I love the bagels!! Im not in the area anymore, I would go all the way to Hillcrest to buy them, but the last time I was there before the Virus, I was extremely annoyed by staff laughing and an older male staff flitting with cashier and there we were just waiting in line listening to their chat, I guess theyve assumed I didnt speak Spanish, yes its a restaurant, but nevertheless making your customers feel uncomfortable is definitely not good for business, management needs to have a code of conduct this will help, food is great but in goes in hand with good service.

I usually don’t leave reviews of any kind for any business, but today I had to. I like to order food every Friday for my employees and sometimes clients and this Friday was no different. I have had issues with bcb in the past not getting my orders right but I decided to give them another chance. I ordered 10 breakfast sandwiches for about 75 dollars through uber eats. The driver shows up with one sandwich and I ask him what happened. Apparently they had only made the one and sent the poor uber driver here to face me and 8 hungry contractors. Now all of this is fine and I didn’t mind because Brandon the uber driver said he would drive back and pick them up. I tried contacting bcb and tried getting ahold of someone in the shop and no one answered. I called back at least 6 times and the phone wasn’t answered once. I ended up cancelling the whole order and ordered food from a restaurant that answers their phone. By the time he got back to your store all my clients had left, and BCB had just started making the other 9 sandwiches. Thanks for nothing.

My wife and I went around 8:15am after having an appointment nearby. We stopped in for a coffee and a Breakfast Smoothie. There was a short line that we breezed through fairly quickly, and ordered. Staff was quick and prompt, answering any questions. Our drinks were out within 5 minutes of ordering. We took a seat at one of the two dozen or so tables the cafe owned. A decent line began forming around 8:45am that the staff handled quickly and efficiently, calling out orders and delivering food and drinks to guests. We left at 9am, it was an enjoyable experience. We likely wont go out of our way or make plans to come back, but if we happen to be in the area again wed stop in!

I love my sandwiches and for my first time there, I was not at all impressed. The lackluster of my sandwich made me mad and the price of my blandwich, just tipped the cow with me. The bread was like eating wheat straight from the field and it was clear the person, making the sandwich hated their job. If I was making a sandwich for a company I would make it the way I make them at home, happy and filled with love, not just putting a blip of mayo on it like your trying to make the jar last for a month. The only thing that made me happy was the pickle. The attitude of the staff was nice too but they should research their food as well instead of telling people how good it is, I think that their taste receptors need to be fixed or honed. They bragged about their tea as well, I enjoy my teas alot and when I drank this tea. The first ship was good, then it turned in to a 80s Avon perfume but enough about that I will really think twice before I go back into that place maybe it was an off day? But Im sure I wont chance it.

Decent bagels that are the right balance of crisp and soft. A wide selection of things to put on the bagel, as well as bagel sandwiches and other fare. Drip coffee, espresso coffee, smoothies, crepes, and more round out the offerings at this locally-owned store.Be there early for the best selection.

Its a little rediculous giving just four stars if you knew how often we go here, but its more because of the ritual and location than anything else. Its good, dont get me wrong. The only thing that lost a star is the service. There can be seven or eight people working behind the counter for two helped at any given time. I almost want to design them a new operations strategy, just to rescue them from bumping into each other all day.

Great bagels, par with New York bagels, except for the fact that New York bagel shops are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; so, you guys really need to stay open way past 4:00 in the afternoon. I would go here regularly if they had reasonable hours, but since they are always closed, I only come here once every 6 months to a year, when I so happen to be lucky enough to be here early in the day. I dont think I am alone in this. Also, if you sold bagel chips, that would be awesome.

I just fell out of bed at about 11am this morning and decided to walk the three blocks to see if this place was any good. If youre searching for the best bagel in San Diego your search is over. Hands Down the most delicious, fluffy yet still crisp bite of heaven youll taste on the West Coast.I moved from New York last year and was on a search for a good bagel because San Diegos average Joe bagel just didnt do it for me. In the Northeast we have the type of water that makes bagel making ideal especially in Long Island (wow)! So how does Big City Bagels do it ? They have an authentic bagel-making process, complete with kettling the dough prior to baking, gives them their unique texture. Toppings on both sides give them more flavor and appeal. But It is more than just taste they perfect! Their selection is vast complete with over a dozen flavors of bagels, 10 cream cheeses, sandwiches, crepes, baked goods and more! They are soon to get a smoothie bar as well :)Dont waste your time with any other Bagel Place!
