I first brought my car in to MINI of San Diego in Feb 2020. I have a 2008 that was given to me by extended family and I was interested in having it checked out. At the time there were a few suggested maintenance items, and the Service Team was very helpful in indicating that nothing needed immediate replacement, but that it would likely need follow-up down the road. I didnt feel pressured into having the work done right away. That brings me to Mar 2021: I got a 20% offer for previously recommended service, and so I brought it in for an oil change and a follow-up on the other items. I loved how they sent a video inspection of my car, showing me exactly what they were seeing and explaining everything. Through the course of our communication, there was a bit of a misunderstanding on one of the service jobs (I thought it was being noted as a future recommendation, when ultimately the work was performed). When I inquired about it for clarification, my Service Rep immediately recognized some of the language could have been open to interpretation, and without me asking, went above and beyond to lower the final cost of my bill. Thats the kind of service Ill return for! I dont usually have my car serviced at a dealership, given the prices can sometimes be higher, but in this case, the service is worth it! I also LOVE the convenience of the Loaner Car and that my car is returned to me freshly washed. And the friendly attitudes and smiles! Thank you Service Team!

Recently bought a MINI Cooper Countryman for my son. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and obliging. We had a small but potentially difficult issue and the team at MINI San Diego sorted it with no quibbles and no questions. Great service and I would highly recommend them. In fact I already have, to one of my friends who liked my sons car.

My old car from 2003 finally bit the dust, and after shuffling cars around, my wife needed a new one. We were interested in the new MINI EV, so went down and took a test drive with Andrew. We loved the car and decided to go for it. Andrew was very helpful at every step in the process, explained everything, and really gave us the time and space to make our decisions. Irene helped us once we got into the finance phase, and she was also very patient and helpful in answering all of our questions. My wife and I would both highly recommend buying a car from Andrew and the rest of the extremely professional crew down at MINI of San Diego.

Exceptional experience from the minute I dropped my car and was personally escorted to the waiting room and the Covid Safety Process was explained well.Anthony was my advisor and had been recommended by a fellow mini driver. Anthony did a great job getting me set up for my appointment, answered a few questions I had about the mini (as I was a new owner). On 02/28/2018 I took my Mini Cooper Convertible to Mini of San Diego for a standard oil change and 27 point inspection.In the past in 02/2017 I had an issue with this dealership breaking off the clip to my battery cover however was willing to give them another chance.My last oil change in 09/2017 at Mini of San Diego they recommended I replace my torn left front CV axle joint boot, so I went ahead and replaced it in 10/2017 at a local mechanic shop.Today when I went into Mini of San Diego they performed their inspection and suggested I still replace my left front CV axle joint boot....... So I crawled under my car and took a look at it and noticed it looks perfectly in tact then proceeded to take it to my maintenance guy who also said it was still in tact.Not only did they mis inform me of maintenance I needed done they also said my car was going into wash before returning it to me only to come out as filthy as it had went in........ So my point of this letter is are they even doing the things Im paying them to do???????I will be looking at finding another dealership to deal with or even a local mechanic as they have misinformed me too many time at Mini of San Diego.Attached is a photo of my untorn front left CV axle boot joint and a photo of my filthy car window that Mini of San Diego washed....

I am a new Mini Owner.. I’ve had my JCW for less than a year and had to take it in a few times for minor issues.. every time I arrive, the service department is super busy but they tend to be on top of it. The service department has a specific flow that gets you in and out quickly. I have never had to wait very long to be helped. The best part is I’m always provided with a loner car. . And getting a loner car makes zero stress and peace of mind. My experience has been pretty awesome.Thanks everyone!!! Great team.

12/16/20 UpdateI finally received my refund and kudos to Lisa M. for her professionalism and for getting this issue fixed. She took the time to explain about their staffing issues due to the pandemic and identified a system issue that held up my refund. I accepted the explanation and we both agreed that there are some communication issues that they need to address between their customers and internal departments. For my case, there were 4 points of contact where this all could have been avoided. Someone should not have to send 3 unanswered emails, a defeated credit card dispute, and a final Hail Mary play at public shaming on social media to get their attention.Again, I hope this is just a temporary issue due to Covid-life but In the meantime, my best advice is just to document every correspondence that you have with them and if it takes more than 24 hrs for a rep to respond to you, follow up again and again.Dont spend $500 on pre-ordering the Mini SE ElectricUnless youre absolutely committed on purchasing this vehicle, just dont. I pre ordered one end of June but after a delay in production, my car wouldnt be ready until Jan-Feb. I thought about it some more and decided to wait for improvements for this 1st gen mass produced EV model by Mini. Mainly. I was worried about the range for my future needs and 1st gen growing pains.I was assured the pre order was refundable but its definitely not. Apparently theres a time limit also on how long you can dispute a charge so looks like Im out in the cold. Big shout out to Rich and Roberto for ghosting me afterwards too. True professionals in their trade.

I recently had my car serviced here I found the staff to be very professional and appreciated the updates that I received about when my car would be ready. My car is running fine, so the work appears to be high quality.My only complaint was that when I went to pay, I asked about a military discount and was told that I needed to mention this when I brought my car in. I did mention when I brought my car in that I had moved here recently due to the military, so I found it very frustrating that I was not told that there was a discount at that time and then was deemed not eligible when I did ask later.Since San Diego has such a large military population, its great that they offer a 10% discount, but not being able to receive this discount when I went to pay definitely left me with a poor final impression.Update: In response to the owners request, I called the office and was able to negotiate a 10% credit to my account to address my original concern described above. I greatly appreciate the teams willingness to address this and am happy to now amend my review from 4 to 5 stars.
