My husband and I were overwhelmed, stressed, and in need of serious help when I found Madeleine. On the first day she came to our home, she stepped right in showing us best practices on everything from bottle washing to setting up our sons nursery to products that might help our son sleep better so that we could sleep better. Eight weeks later, Madeleine left us more confident parents able to spend more time enjoying our son than worrying about what we were doing. We loved Madeleines focus as a parent educator. She taught us how to care for our child by reading and responding to his cues and offering him opportunities to grow. Well be forever grateful to Madeleine for all she taught us and for connecting us to so many outstanding resources that will help us in the future.
Madi is a dream to work with! Shes the perfect mix of education and empathy - just what we needed in this new adventure as a new family of three. Preparing for birth and parenthood during a pandemic was overwhelming, but working with Madi virtually made it so much easier. Highly recommend her to anyone!
Madeleine provided virtual support when my son was 2 weeks old. We were struggling with feeding and sleeping issues and being first time parents her empathetic and knowledgeable advice was so valuable for us and we saw immediate improvements.
TL;DR – Madi is a knowledgeable, resourceful, and kind hearted person that is an easy recommendation for a postpartum doula.Madi was very professional—punctual and a good communicator—and very easy to work with. She explained how she normally does business, and how she has shifted her approach in light of the pandemic, and we felt safe to have her enter our home.We agreed to have her be our doula, but we continued to hesitate in having someone come into our home to help us with our newborn; Madi was going to meet our baby before our parents. Our big, and naive, question was, what kind of value would she bring?During her first visit we immediately realized how big of a help she was. She was very relatable and easy to ask questions about anything related to our baby. There were even basic things that we didnt even think about she let us know just by observing; eg you put babys clothing from the bottom up because all baby clothing is designed to stretch, or how to put a baby in a Ktan wrap, etc.Madi is very knowledgeable about so many things, but you have to remember she is not a lactation consultant nor is she a pediatrician, so she will not diagnose your child for you. However, she is able to give her opinion and has enough experience to see what things are leading to, and give you the right questions to discuss with your lactation consultant, pediatrician, OB, etc...Madi is also very resourceful in that she knows what baby products work and which are gimmicks. Off the bat, she saw our breast pump, and told us immediately, You need to get a new one, this one is very weak and will take forever to pump. In the myriad of products out there for babies, she is a great resource in helping you wade through the clutter.
Madeleine is a true professional and a wealth of knowledge, warmth, and practical help for those first weeks home from the hospital. She knows what new moms need and is able to anticipate what will benefit your unique family! She has fantastic product recommendations and is very well connected in the postpartum community. Madeleine even came to the hospital after my daughters birth to support me and give my husband a moment to go home, shower, and check in on our older daughter. Madeleine is also very talented at organizing and is great hands on help as well for whatever you need---baby care, meal prep, laundry etc.!
Lifesaver! We dont know how we would have done it without Madeleines help. Although we read all the books, took classes, etc. it felt as though that knowledge was not applicable once baby was home with us. There is so much happening day by day, week by week, and without Madeleine there to help guide us - we have been so lost and even more overwhelmed. I only wished I knew about her before our sons arrival and felt super lucky that when we reached out to her (son was 3 days old) that she had availability for us. She was with us from the time that my son was one week old until eights weeks old. At first, I thought that couldnt be enough time but she reminded me that she was there to guide/prepare me for the long road with the baby. And she did!She would let me know about certain books regarding babys development, she would bookmarked the applicable chapters/pages. This was amazing as there is just so much info and not enough time to scour through all the resources. She also made sure that I was taking care of myself - that I had meals/food/snacks/water especially since I was nursing. And she had a list of professionals she quickly referred me to which was major.I highly recommend that expecting parents reach out to Madeleine as the initial time with your baby is so important. She will be there to help set you up for success while you focus on your new baby.
Madeleine is a wonderful post partum doula and newborn caregiver. Her depth of knowledge, resourcefulness, professionalism, enthusiasm and compassionate care helped us adjust to the overwhelming challenges of being first time parents. I am so grateful to her for helping us establish great routines around sleeping, feeding, and playtime for our son early on. We continue to rely on these routines and have adapted them as our baby has grown and it has helped us to create a semblance of balance and predictability that would otherwise not exist in our daily life. I am also endlessly grateful to her for taking care of me and coaching me through what was a rough entry into motherhood. We are so lucky to have had Madeleine help us, she is a gem and we treasure the time we got to spend with her.
I was first in contact with Madeleine before I delivered, and it was wonderful to have her as a trusted source of information for all questions I had to prepare for life with a new baby. After arriving home from the hospital, Madeleine was there to help me feel at ease and confident with my newborn. Immediately I saw the connection she had with my baby, and the ability to comfort and handle her. I always felt safe with having Madeleine care for my newborn, she knows what she is doing, is able to jump in and go without me having to worry or dictate to her, and the best part is she is so friendly and positive its a joy to have her energy in our home. She was helpful in other questions I had / recommendations in the baby community, better than anything I would have been able to find myself. Having Madeleine in my families life was the best decision I made, and highly recommend!
Not sure how I would have managed without Madeleine. I remember when she first came over, I had my 4 week old napping on a mat on the floor with the TV on, completely clueless. She immediately helped me set up the baby monitor and we started using his crib for naps. That was day 1 and every visit after that, she taught me something new, from my babys wake windows to pumping more efficiently to useful baby products to purchase. Madeleine was also super encouraging, which I really needed at the time, very flexible to work with and so loving toward our baby. I had no idea how difficult the first couple of months were going to be, but she really helped me stay sane and I learned SO MUCH from her. I highly recommend hiring Madeleine!
I feel so lucky to have had Madeleine work with me for the first 12 weeks of my sons life. With her generous, intelligent, and thoughtful guidance I went from knowing nothing about babies to feeling self confident and able to take care of my baby. I highly recommend Madeleine she is professional, kind, reliable and trust worthy. Plus she’s easy to work with and a lot of fun to hang out with.
Madeleine is hands down the best postpartum doula youll find. She is organized, thoughtful and kind. Our babe was madly in love with her and adored being in her arms. Madeline is also extremely knowledgable on all things baby. She helped us get our nursery set up and recommended the top items wed need from the best baby monitor to a nail trimmer. Madeleine is also an expert in sleep and helped us establish a good routine with our babe. By the end of the first week with Madeleine our babe was taking naps like a champ without hours of rocking. She taught us how to introduce a lovey and other methods to help ease the transition to sleep without too many sleep props. We are forever grateful for her methods, her intuitive nature and overall calming presence. In addition to all of her help with our babe, Madeleine also helped us find a day doula when we needed additional care once her contract was up. We were sad that her schedule was already booked but she recommended an amazing doula, Lupe, who was just as experienced, thorough and loving as herself. She also helped us land our current nanny who is a great fit and everything we were looking for in a caregiver. We would not be where we are today as confident parents without Madeleine guiding us along the way.
Priceless! Madeleines knowledge and connections were a huge help as a first time Mom and new to the Bay area. Initially I was afraid of how tough things would be without her guidance, but towards the end of our sessions, I was learning to walk on my own with my baby. She was gradual, gentle and gave me great confidence that I got this!
Incomparable! I am so grateful to have found Madeleine. My amazing birth doula recommended her, and she was a saving grace. I met with her for an interview in a coffee shop, and was immediately struck by how professional she was, organized, and prepared. Prior to the birth of our daughter, Madeleine helped us streamline our registry as well as understand the products that we would actually use (and how to use them). We had read tons of blogs and best of lists, that led us to buy tons of useless baby gear; working with Madeleine, we returned much of the nonsense and felt extremely prepared for our baby. She also helped us organize our nursery as the countless Amazon boxes were delivered so that we could actually find what we needed. Very helpfully, she helped create structure out of chaos, turning one segregated for baby kitchen cabinet into an easily organized space for bottles, teething toys, pumping parts, etc. She also helped create and stock rolling towers for pumping, nursing, and other needs. After our daughter was born, Madeleine proved her worth over and over again. She was a sanity check for me in the early days -- someone I could talk to and who understood and had resources to help. She is well-connected with early-childhood practitioners, including the best lactation consultant (Katie Howser). She will work with you through the basic day to day of your new baby, including diapering, bathing, creating routines, and calming your child. On countless occasions early on, she rocked our baby to sleep when she otherwise refused, and gave me the time to rest and recover. Later, she helped create spreadsheets for us of the items we would need for local and long distance travel, including what to bring and what to have shipped. Shes organized and tabulated all my frozen pumped milk, which will be super helpful once I go back to work in the near future. She also gets her hands dirty -- shell do your baby laundry, clean the bottles/pumping parts, change diapers. Shes there for both you and your baby. You would be lucky to work with Madeleine, and I highly recommend her!
Madi is amazing! We are first time parents and feeling overwhelmed, Madi came into our house and we immediately felt at ease with her depth of knowledge and experience. She also brought positive and fun energy into our house which we really needed. We learned soo much from her, including safety tips, little tricks and hacks, how to simplify and have fun, and ways to take advantage of what SF has to offer babies(which is soo much!) After every visit we felt much more empowered like We got this! :)
Madeleine is the best! Every new mom would benefit from working with her - before and after baby arrives! A wealth of knowledge and advice, and very approachable and friendly. Highly recommend!!
Madi was so amazing with our newborn Haya. She taught me how to handle my baby, helped me gain confidence and gave me the the much needed opportunity to rest and recuperate. Always ten steps ahead, she took care of all the daily baby tasks that we didnt even know we had to do. Shes a gem!
