Passion is what lies at the heart of this modest neighborhood bike shop. At a passing glance you might mistake San Francyclo for something its not, but the second you walk through the door its charm becomes intoxicating. The walls are stocked with top of the line bikes/e-bikes, scooters, components, accessories, apparel, etc... so for anyone who rides more than the average weekend hobbier, the temptation to visit with MOJO and Jason is all too hard to resist. San Francyclo epitomizes exceptional business practice and good old-fashioned American neighborhood ethic.20/10 would recommend to anyone who wants a personable, professional and passionate experience.
You had me at MOJO. Thank you Jason for being one of those humanitarians that can recognize you as a human. Thank you for giving me advise that made sense for my style of riding, my budget and my timeline. You did not pressure sell me. You sold me what I need now and discussed what I could consider in the future. I dont live close, and I make the effort to see him and pick his brain for all things cycling. Thanks again and sending my love to MOJO.
Great shop, helped fix a flat and we all had fun accessorizing our bikes while we waited. Stoked on the new grips and bell
Been coming here for years for all my bike needs. Always have a great time talking to the staff — Jason is the man and Mojo is just the coolest little pup. Awesome local bike shop!
After spending the summer at home with family in NY, I was headed back to CA for PhD study, and I wanted a good bike to be there for me when I arrived. Of course, COVID-19 meant that bikes were in short supply. And me being 410, long legs and medium-short arms, I dont mesh with quite a few models, even in the smallest size.Somehow, Jason from San Francyclo made magic happen. And was warm + personable throughout. He did a great job with getting a Marin Presidio 2 set up for me, from purchase to assembly to final touches + fitting. Experience was incredibly positive in every aspect.I trust Jason highly, and reccommend San Francyclo to anybody who asks :)
Ive purchased a few items from this place in the past without much interaction with the staff. Came in recently to ask a few questions I had about a new bike purchase and the tone and attitude of the guy working here was so rude it was almost comical - he was incredibly dismissive and was zero help. I needed to pick up a new bike lock, too, but ended up walking out because of his attitude. Its too bad this is our neighborhood bike shop. Why be in business if youre going to treat customers so poorly? Shop elsewhere. Not surprised by other bad reviews (and the shop owners defensive tone).
Amazing customer service! Thank you!
Very negative and dismissive attitude - I’ve actually never encountered such poor service at a bike shop. I just went there today along a bike ride as I was having a problem with my derailer and asked to use a plier and Allen key myself - usually bike shops have a pump and tools outside! - and was given the wrong size... Jason brushed me off with “I just love loaning people my tools who don’t buy anything, but just keep doing it.” What?? I was actually also there to buy a tube but I just dropped this and went to another bike shop. I suggest you do the same!
Same guy charged 30$ twice (60$) for fixing the same wheel in 2 days. The second day my kid brought the wheel - and he charged him 30$ after he just has repaired it. No reciept. Please, be careful
Been going here for years and they service my electric bike very well.Jason just invited me in to try to charge it cos even though A2B have gone out of business these guys always help out.Seeing as biking includes social distancing and Mayor Breed just said bike shops are essential -anybody needs a new bike go see Jason and support local business during these trying times.
The best bike shop in San Francisco. The employees are truly knowledgeable and go out of their way with customer service. I am new to biking and the education they provide is very helpful. Love this place! They helped me with a simple repair and received a great deal.
I stoped in last second to have a bicycle put together. The guy there went above and beyond with the service provided and stayed past closing 30 minutes to get everything right. I then bought some accessories like a phone holder and he came over and installed them for me while also giving me tips for riding in SF and applications to use. 6/5 stars if it were an option. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Of note, tho bike rentals are available here, those would be for the regular bikes, *not* the cargo bikes (neither manual nor electric), as they pointed out, those are like a $6k ticket item. Makes sense, who would want to rent a Ferrari when you could simply purchase one? #SFlife
Best bike shop in the area. The workers are super cool and not pretentious. The dog is the finishing touch.Ive had them work on 2 different bikes and they have always done a great job.
This place was amazing! Came in with a flat 10 minutes before closing and Alex sold us a new tube at an awesome price. We were in a hurry so I forgot my gear bag in the shop on the way out, before heading back home to Socal. Called Alex and he boxed up the bag and sent it back to me in San Diego via fedex the next day. Couldnt be happier with the experience and ethics of this business. Thank you thank you thank you!
Brought in my State bicycle to get a spoke replaced, not only these guys were cheaper then my two local bike shops in Richmond district but they got the job done quickly as well. They also adjusted my disc brakes and I didnt even ask for that service.
These guys doing some amazing repair jobs! I have taken my Xootr scooter here twice in the last 2 years and gotten it back in amazing condition. They will take great care of you regardless if youre a bike owner or not!
Super helpful staff. I came in with my bike once just to ask for advice on adjusting my steering bearing and they taught me how to do it myself. This is a good place to rent bikes if youre visiting for a weekend.
The guys here were very nice and straight with me. My friend who lives in the area suggested the shop to me. I got into an unfortunate situation with a bike I rented from them and they were very understanding and empathetic of my circumstances.
Jason and team really took their time to walk me through all the options. I ended up going with a bike that they let me test on the spot. Great group of guys who know what they are talking about!
Arrogant service. If your not a cool hipster biker don’t go here. Terrible service.
Abject disappointment. Brought bike in for a full exam and tune-up, plus new tubes, as it hadnt been ridden in years - $150 later... and 3 weeks later, a flat tire. I fixed it; then another flat 2 weeks later. Took it to them, they fixed it, and long story short, the rim tape hadnt been inspected or replaced, so spokes were puncturing the tube - how do you not check and fix the rim tape when youre changing the tire, let alone doing a full tune up and check? But instead of fixing the 2nd flat for free, he still charged me for time and new rim tape. But thats not the only interaction; I went back twice after that simply because its the closest shop to me, and each time I get a negative dismissive attitude - and his prices are notably higher than other central Richmond and NoPa shops.
They did the best tune-up on my road bike Ive had in quite a while. I will definitely be back.
The staff are super friendly and personable, the rental bike I got was such a smooth ride, and the rental fees were totally reasonable. Highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking to rent/purchase a bike!
These guys are great! Fast service, fair prices, and everyone who works there is really nice.
Great service and friendly people! Very knowledgeable without being snobby.
Great local shop. I was impressed with their skills when they diagnosed and fixed a tricky shifting problem. My bike always feels like its on glass after a tune-up there.
Ansom and Brett were Very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. I had a broken chain and they took the time to replace it. They were also able to fix and adjust a couple of other things on my bikes.
Strong upsell for premium tune up, bike came back in worse shape than it went in. Three revisits including two chain adjustments, its not even back to where it was before.Took the bike to another shop and my bike is shifting like a dream, and the breaks no longer start dragging on the wheel by the end of every ride.
Alex was awesome and entertaining! Go here to buy, adjust or repair your bike.
Great neighborhood team with a lot of knowledge across the spectrum from mountain bikes to road bikes
Literally the best place to go for novice riders looking to get advice, equipment, & service!
Great service. Great shop. Highly recommended.
Cool bunch of guys from a variety of cycling disciplines. Its worth noting that they have a touring guy who rides a Surly LHT with a Rohloff hub - he was very helpful when I was selecting adapter plates and other little pieces for my esoteric German hub.Come for the bikes, stay for Mojo (the shop dog).
Jason and his crew are super helpful and knowledgeable. The best part is seeing and petting Mojo - Jasons Staffordshire Terrier - the lovable cuddlebug. :-)
Great place to rent a bike. Very helpful staff!
Very helpful waystation for those looking to bike over to Marin.
Just as good as the other store very friendly staff
Very friendly & knowledgeable staff. Ill use them again.
Very good service with good price
Always have a good experience here!
Best bike shop! Friendly and helpful even if youre on a budget and asking a million dumb questions (like me.)
Great quality rental bikes and service
The staff was very friendly, but they didnt check the bike they rented me. A few hours later the seat was too loose to sit on and the tires were underinflated.
Expensive and treated me like I was an idiot.
Amazing people, knowledge, and atmosphere!
Awesome service!
