I had a very custom requirement, and they nailed it! They are not always easy to get ahold of but it is worth the wait for their return of messages. It must be because they are so busy doing fabulous work!!!!!

Got my bike used. It always had shifting problems. Had other bike shops work on it. They claimed they fixed jt but it was never smooth. When I accidentally broke my derailleur, I had this shop replace it. The previous problem went completely away and shifting has finally been smooth and easy.

Very unprofessional. Not sure how they earned a 4+ rating. Theyve had my partners bike for over 3-weeks now when they committed a 1-week turnaround. We could have easily taken the bike to Sports basement a few blocks down. The shop is never open on the hours mentioned on Google Maps. When we CAUGHT the shop open yesterday, the owner said he would message and return our bike by the end of day today. ANOTHER failed commitment. If the shop continues to be closed and we dont hear from the owner, we will be filing a report with the SF Police Department. For all we know, they could be renting our bike elsewhere in the city.

I wanted to get my bike serviced and dismantled to be shipped. Ben came to my place on 08/12 to pick up my bike, he was on time and great. I texted and called him for an update but got no response, after texting, emailing, calling for a few more days he replied on 08/17 that my bike will be good for a shipment on 08/19. Texted him on 08/19 for the tracking information and invoice. I haven’t received any replies. I believe my bike has been stolen.

I’ve been meaning to write a review of Civic+sprocket for a couple months now. Ben serviced my old (2012) mountain bike last year. It took a long time to find parts given Covid’s impact on the biking supply chain...but once we had everything he did an amazing job breathing new life into a really cool bike. I couldn’t be happier w the result. He was very knowledgeable about parts upgrades (eg. mtn bike disc brakes), and the bike came back in great working order and cleaned-up too. I will definitely use C+S for future biking needs.

The guys at Civic are so great! My bike is old and rides like a dumpster. I had another bike shop refuse to work on it, but Civic took the task on without hesitation. They were honest and extremely helpful with all my questions.My bike now rides like a chariot and Ive never had it glide so smooth. Im very impressed, and would recommend everyone to go if you want quality and honest people!

Did an awesome ready-next-day tune-up of my last bike ($200 total since he replaced the chain and some other parts in addition to the basic tuning)—unfortunately I had that bike stolen a couple weeks later. So then I emailed and Ben gave me his perspective on the new bikes I was considering. Always great service, an awesome addition to the neighborhood.

Despite two confirmations from this service, he could not show up on time. The appointment was for 9am. I waited until 930 before calling to see what the issue could be. At 955, I received a text saying his alarm had only just gone off (he said Sunday early morning was best!), and that he would be here in 20 minutes. It is now a little past 11am, and he still isnt here. He declined to respond to my text message at 11 asking if I should actually expect him today. 0 stars not possible, but this is pretty ridiculous.

Booked appointment with them and they did not show. Called them and finally got through to owner he said he was having issues but would text to confirm so booked another - they again did not show.
