Amazing service! Great communication and my bike runs SO WELL now! Spent extra time getting my shifters to free up on their own rather than jumping to replacing them right away. Highly recommend!
I have had my bike serviced at various places prior to trying the Bike Doctor. I used to be unhappy with service time and quality of the job done on basic road bike tune up.The job was done perfectly by the Bike Doctor and I did not have to make an appointment online to get my bike tuned. My comprehensive tune up was $69 ad included truing up the wheels among other things. Very happy with how the bike rode after that, so there is no doubt I will be going back. Cash payments only, bring your bike directly between 12 and 6pm. As simple as this.
Paul operates a bike repair shop out of his garage, and Ive found it really great to have a bike shop in my neighborhood that I know I can always go to, and trust that hell give me good advice and evaluations, rather than just trying to sell me expensive products. Hes fair, reliable, and really an excellent resource to have. Ive been going to him for years now, and felt like he really deserved a good review.
Friendly, knowledgeable, the people there put customer service first.
Paul returned my call about quick inquiry for bike repair. When I showed up in his shop, he actually took 10 minutes and just repaired the rear brake for my bike without charging me a penny! He is truly awesome and really a model neighbor and awesome San Franciscan! Thanks Paul!
The bike shop owner is knowledge and nice! I would give 6 stars if I could. Recommended to everyone!
Aweseome fast fix. Bring cash
(The star rating is based on my phone conversation.)I spoke to the guy on the phone. He gave me quotes that seemed fair and I liked that he took time and effort to talk to me about the problems Ive been having with my bike. On the other hand, he got peeved when I asked him for an estimated time of completion and he sort of went off on a rant about being a bike doctor, but he was no emergency bike doctor, and if Im in a rush to get my bike fixed, there are other bike repair shops that could use my business, and that I was calling him on his day off. I really dont know where that came from, but I just shrugged it off, and said I would see about coming by when his garage/shop reopens. The Bike Doctor mentioned he was 75 years old. My moms 80 and they seem to share similar temperament. Ill keep him in mind for future bike problems, but for now, Im going to take his advice and give my business to other shops that not only want it, but need it too.
Didnt visit, but gave a call for some information on the how to work on bicycle wheels. Informative and friendly, Paul I believe will be a good mechanic in the Bay area. Thanks!
After a full tune up for a very reasonable price the bike really did feel like new. Such good work. Also hes very friendly and service minded.
Very helpful staff, some of the nicest bikes I have ever seen. Definitely worth checking out an the have all different upgraded parts
Paul is always professional and keeps our familys bikes in top shape. We feel very fortunate to have him in the area.
Amazing guy, picked up and dropped off the bike around my busy schedule, was extremely flexible, friendly and explanatory.I WILL be going back here again when I need repairs and I WILL be recommending him to friends. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!
Super quick, direct and prices are unbeatable!
Paul is a great guy, and very knowledgeable. Low prices and fantastic customer service. I highly recommend this man!
Highly reasonable acceptable price for amazing bike fix by nice old man.Went in for punctured tire, paid $20 (definitely market rate for flat tire), but then even got a mini-tuneup where my brakes were tightened, tires were pumped to full (I only have a primitive foot pump), and derailleur fixed because he didnt want me to die before the next meeting, plus 30 minutes of much-welcomed advice and stories. And _even offered a starving student discount_, which is super nice, thought I turned it down.Price for full tuneup is $69Price for assembly out of the box is $15 on top of tuneup, which is lower than the closest (for parkside residents) competitively skilled bike shops prices (maybe because less rent? Since its out of his garage) which is $100.Will definitely come backtl;dr Super nice guy, competitive skill level, check him out
Super cool and convenient! And hell pick up your bike anywhere in the city. Affordable and a nice guy
It is a single man shop. But the quality if service he offered was really nice as compared to price. The guy treated very well.
This guy really knows what hes doing! I recommend him to anyone whose having problems with their bikes but doesnt want to deal with any of the overpriced solutions throughout the city.
This is a one man shop. The one man Id very nice and helpful though. I stopped by because my petal happened to fall off right next to his shop. He didnt have the part to repair it but he was able to get it on in an ad hoc manner securely enough to bike back to the Caltrain to get home. He really saved my day.
Very knowledgeable and friendly, will give you great tips about your bike while hes fixing it!
Friendly and knowledgeable guy and super fast service with super reasonable prices!! Will totally go back :)
Paul was very helpful in repairing my bicycle! I brought in a bicycle that had a chain that kept falling off. After closer inspection, he pointed out the fact that my bicycle had some incompatible parts some how working together (a mix of Shimano and Campagnolo parts). We went back and forth with the parts I needed and I helped source the parts. After some trial and error, Paul was able to get my bike back in working order! I will mention that Paul is very well versed with Shimano components, but might be a little less familiar with working on Campagnolo components. However, hes a pretty knowledgable hands on kind of guy, so Im sure hell still be able to work something out. Great service, excellent prices and quick turn around times if there arent any hiccups! Also keep in mind, hes cash only. Its not a store front. Hes located inside the garage of a house in the middle of the block. If hes open, his garage door will be! If not, check back another time! His hours of operations are listed within Google Maps .
Super nice guy, fast service and drops off your bike to your house. Great experience through and through.
Tuned my bike nicely, good value.
Helpful. Great person, knows a lot about bikes.
Just got my bike tuned for $59! And it runs great now!
This is a one-man bike repair shop in a garage in the Sunset. Unfortunately he was unable to help me, so I had to take an Uber to another bike repair place though.
