LastMinuteGear is a great San Francisco shop to get any gear, info or resources on all your outdoor activities! James was incredibly thoughtful and accommodating when I need some last minute gear before a trip. He was even able to move things around on his schedule to help me before I left town! When I ended up not needing some of the gear I purchased, their return policy and process were perfect. I will absolutely be returning to pick up some ski gear later in the year, highly recommend.

Great concept, high end gear. One idea for the owners is to include a printed instruction with rental for things that need installation such as tents (get inspired by Ikea or Legos) . We got the Agnes big10 station 6 person tent and we werent sure if we got the poles right. so we ended up not getting the extra room outside.

My husband and I went to Lake Tahoe last week, and in this season we need to prepare snowshoes and sleeping bags in order to walk in the snow trial and avoid the cold. The gears in Last minute Gear are very easy to rent on their website and their staffs prepared your gears so quickly and so kind! Its a very wonderful experience to rent outdoor gears in this shop!

No Camping Equipment, No Fear, Last Minute Gear to the Rescue. I used to camp a lot. After some years in the city that slowed a bit. Wanting to get back into I reserved a campsite months in advance and did absolutely no prep for it. The day before I reserved all the gear I needed at Last Minute Gear and was set. Thank you! Their system is easy to use, the prices are incredibly reasonable for rentals, and the products just right for what I needed. The person who helped me after I placed my order was helpful and kind, and was open to my feedback when I wasnt quite sure how adding to an order on-sight worked. My only product complaint would be that the camping air pad wasnt very comfortable. Im considering buying my own, in case I end up camping more frequently. Otherwise, I have nothing but kudos for LMG!

The process was very easy from renting online and then picking up. They have their own department just for pickup. They had a bunch of reservations it I waited just a few minutes for someone to help me. They were all very nice, knowledgeable and friendly. They return was just as easy and fast. My experience was flawless! The staff extremely friendly and helpful. I often leave planning for camping or climbing trips to the last minutes. Last minute gear truly are a cut above the rest.Booking the kit was simple as their website is modern and intuitive. On the day we were picking up the kit, we asked if we change the pick up time to after hours (11:30pm), and unbelievably the team were able to cater to our requirements at such late notice.When we went to pick up the kit, the employee was very helpful walking us through how to use the gear and helped with any questions we had. He even had great advice about the campsite we were going to!The kit was absolutely great. James was great to work with. We booked some gear in advance and it was ready as soon as we needed it. We rented a tent, chairs, pots and pans, and a cooler. All were in great shape and worked perfectly for the three days we rented them. We got to town a little earlier than expected and James was extremely flexible, letting us drop the gear off several hours earlier than planned. Would recommend to anyone. Couldnt have had the great time we did at Yosemite without Last Minute Gear!

AMAZING service. James is incredibly knowledgeable and very approachable. His passion about making the outdoors accessible and reducing waste is contagious. I bought a Lena cup (menstrual cup) which worked exactly as advertised. Extremely easy to use and I never notice Im wearing it. I no longer have to buy disposable tampons and love knowing that it is safer than bleached cotton and plastic applicators. James answered all of my questions about the Lena cup with expertise I would not have expected from a person who has never used one. Highly recommended!

I used Last Minute Gear to rent supplies for a weekend trip to Yosemite. This was my first time backpacking, I had no idea what I was doing and owed none of the equipment I needed. From a convenient pick up and drop off to prices, Last Minute Gear was spectacular!James and Grant were really helpful when I picked everything up. They answered all my questions about my trip and even gave tips on the equipment I might need. They encouraged me to try on different backpacks, showed me how to wear them, and found one that fit me best.The team really cares about reducing consumption and staying green. Not many people consider the carbon footprint of buying items that one rarely uses. In addition, everyone I talked to was super friendly and really passionate about camping and the outdoors!

Last Minute Gear is so awesome. I have used the service three times, and I love it. The goods were all in good condition. James, the business owner, is really nice, responsive, and flexible. He prepared everything I need for my trip to Tahoe 30min after I placed the order on a Friday night. The showroom is close to BART and a bunch of MUNI lines, which is super convenient for commuters. I truly recommend this business to everyone, especially to people like me who just started snow sports and only go snowboarding for a few times a season!

Super helpful place to pick up camping gear. I went during normal store hours so I could browse and ask the staff questions. Borrowed a sleeping bag, sleeping pad, backpacking stove, and pot for my trip to Zion. Highly recommend -- all the gear is from top name brands. Was able to drop it off a week later in the evening when the shop was closed by using the digital passkey they sent me.They also seem to have ski gear.

Last Minute Gear deserves an exception: theyre genuinely one of the best services Ive used in any category both in terms of their convenience and their consistent focus on putting people first. This place is the best. If you are camping in the bay area, especially if youre traveling internationally, this is the ONLY spot you should be going to get your gear. You have to schedule to pick the gear up, but they work on a 24 hour schedule, so you can arrange to pick up and drop off gear in the middle of the night. Really a great concept, and when you shop at Last Minute Gear, you are doing yourself a favor.

James is a great guy. Superb last minute gear, excellent drop off/pick up times, and amazing service. Not much more you could ask for. I flew in from another state to go hiking for a week, and it helped me out a lot (a BIG stress relief) to have this gear waiting for me once I arrived. I highly recommend Last Minute Gear to anyone in the San Francisco area or flying in to go hiking or camping. If you want to save some travel space or are lacking some gear, its a great investment.

Diablo!The equipment was fantastic — the sleeping bags were perfect, the cooler kept ice better than any Ive ever used before, there was more than enough camping gas to make meals for the weekend, and the stove was just what we needed.In the end, this service was exactly what we needed. High-quality gear, easily accessible, and at a great price that is affordable for anyone. I will definitely be going here first the next time I go camping near San Francisco!

This place is awesome!I was suppose to borrow a snowboarding jacket from my friend, but something happened where I cant get it from her. So I was scrambling and calling stores to see if they have anymore snow gears, but no luck. Since I was suppose to go to Tahoe that day, I was going to give up but I found Last Minute Gear! I called James and told him that I was leaving to Tahoe in 2 hours and I needed a jacket. James was so quick and made sure everything was taken care of. I told him my friend was going to pick it up for me. James said to tell my friend to call him and he would ran out to hand it to him. Instead of hauling camping gear on a plane and checking it and then hauling it on an uber- we opted to rent most of our gear. This great little shop offers 24 hour pickup and drop off of gear. I love the option to rent things instead of owning them!

I was really well looked after and happy with my rentals. The sleeping bags were so warm that we almost felt hot in them. I requested for 2 sleeping bags that zip together so I could share with my fiancé, and I was provided with this without any fuss.

Originally I tried to rent gear at REI but what I needed was unavailable...best thing that could have happened. I found Last Minute Gear at the eleventh hour. Cost is more than reasonable, the gear is top quality and pick up/drop off was a breeze. James is great to work with. I had a mix-up after my trip and a piece of my gear went into the wrong vehicle. James was understanding a provided me an extra day to return the gear without a late fee (I would have happily paid it because of my great experience). Horrible! So confused, Im not sure if this guy is legit... would not recommend. It was all in a residential apartment. Expected more range, and I didnt understand the reviews and how this shop managed to get 5 stars... absolutely no hardware, only soft goods that were highly questionable... had to get through three separately locked doors to even talk to the shopkeeper. Please save your time and possibly life and avoid at all costs...

Very high quality REI backpacking tent... much cheaper and more convenient than buying or renting from REI or one of the other big stores. Great experience.

We live out of the country and could never possibly take all the camping gear we needed to travel the PNW. We also could not afford to buy all new gear or even hunt down enough gear to borrow from friends around the US... thats why Last Minute Gear is incredible and life saving! We worked with James and he was extremely accommodating. We traveled with our gear from San Francisco to as far north as Port Angelas, WA in Olympic National Park - the gear and supplies were all perfect! James is very prompt and professional.
