Just bought a sweet kayak. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Special shout-out to Paul C, who guided me through picking out the kayak and accessories. He went out of his way to get me set up with everything I needed, without trying to upsell me on anything. Really above and beyond, great customer service.

Paul C was extremely helpful, cordial and knowledgable about my kayak purchase. Beyond the product knowledge, he also provided a locals insight on its use as well as requirements. Companies are fortunate to have employees who are into the products they sell!

Didn’t make it inside as they are requiring temperature checks! Aren’t we past this? Was going in to buy a stationary cycle but I’ll take my business elsewhere .

Beware of scam! They kept my items that I returned, no refund, won’t send them back. I got scammed by this business.On April 4th, 2021, a customer was charged $69.99 for a pair of rollerblades that they ordered on Decathlon.com. The item the customer received did not fit as advertised and did not meet quality expectations. Since rollerblades are a wearable item, the customer had to try them on in order to figure these facts out. The rollerblades were returned but a refund was not given because “warehouse staff deemed these items to be opened, damaged and/or used.”Upon or during purchase, the customer was not notified of this company’s unusual return policy. There is no mention that the customer is not allowed to ensure the product fits properly or test it for defects. There is no statement in the product description that notifies the customer of this return policy as well. The customer is deceived into thinking that the product they are buying is eligible for a return if it does not meet the description or is defective, yet there is no warning to the customer that the product may not be returned.The customer was charged for the product, sent it back for a refund, was not issued a refund, and now the company will not return the customer’s property. The company is requesting money in exchange for the customer’s property. The customer was not notified of any return fees prior to returning the item. The company’s policy does not state a return fee is required at any point.

Ive always had a great experience at decathlon (Indian stores and US stores)! Their products are very reasonably priced, offering a range of options and across many outdoor-sy things.I particularly want to give a shout out to Alex from the biking department (I think) at this branch of decathlon for helping me choose the right road bike and for being super informative about every aspect of it.Its a great place to start with even especially youre a beginner! Highly recommend it.

My favorite store for ANY sporting goods at the most affordable price! It is also, by far, the best quality you can get. I practice a lot of sports in California, hiking, backpacking, climbing, mountaineering and everything comes from there, it has never let me down, even at 9F in the eastern sierras. All the gear you can buy has strong ratings for a fraction of the cost of what you can find at REI or SB. Every kind of sport has a different brand name, built by the best expert in the field. For instance, the climbing gear is design in the Alps, by a crew of climbers and mountaineers. Until now I had to rent every weekend some gear, to be sure I had the best quality, without spending too much. Now I can own some top notch gear, that is built to last.If you are concerned about the environmental impact of clothing, know that some product are built with responsibly sourced down, recycled plastics,..Go see for yourself, the store is massive, the vendors are skilled and kind.

I thought I could just go there and get a new bicycle seat, my seat broke on the way across town, my bike was actually dangerous to ride at the time. The problem is the security wouldnt let me in the store because I have a small backpack- the thing with the backpack is I have a laptop in the backpack. Well to make a long story short I just went across the street to Sports Basement, they were very kind to me and got me back on the road safely. Thank you for being there Sports Basement!

If Ikea and Big 5 had a child this would be it. A bunch of Chinese made stuff trying to look fancy with some French flavor. Dont expect them to stand behind anything they sell. I bought some 26 mountain bike tires and tubes for my sons bike. After riding the bike less than 5 minutes the front tire came off the wheel and the tube burst while he was riding it. The next day I tried to return the tires and tubes. But they said to me they couldnt warranty them. I would give them one star but the guy from their bike shop was very helpful

Charged for items that we did not buy, and when brought it up, showed an attitude, and said if there are random tags around, it can wrongly be scanned. This is the only time I have checked my receipt, so I wonder if it happened in the past as well. The other two times, the store manager was super rude to other customers. NOT coming back!

Ive been to this store around 3 times now, and every time Ive walked out with (shamefully more than) everything I needed in just a few minutes - so great for a busy mom with zero time to shop! The space is well laid out, and the product range is vast, so if I had the time Id just browse, but the staff are just so readily available to assist. A shout-out to Yann(sp?), who is very knowledgeable, helpful and might be the friendliest Frenchman Ive ever met. Prices in this store are also more than reasonable, and I never feel like Im overpaying, especially for the great quality you get. GO HERE IF YOU NEED ANYTHING OUTDOORSY. THEY MORE THAN LIKELY HAVE IT!

Sales are important yes but customer service more importantly because people talk and I see when I come to your store there are not that many customers.The decathlon brand is such an epic and trusted name in Europe and to keep that good name probably start hiring people who care about people not just the bottom line.

Great store for all things adventure and the prices cannot be beat! They also do custom 3d printing and embroidering and such in store.

I must admit I truly really like this store sometimes even refer to it as sfs hidden gem for all things outdoors .... hiking, camping, climbing kayaking extreme sports even archery ! (Seems how very few know about this place whenever I mention it) I don’t know why?? I mean I even got a backpack from there that can literally hold air be taken underwater with you as a breathing apparatus. Their prices are very fair yet their quality in products is a little bit above the normal standard I feel like and I believe this is due to them manufacturing their own products so their overhead is probably relatively low therefore the don’t have to kill you on the cost of making things ...I mean don’t get me wrong there are still plenty of things in this store I’ve wanted to try and haven’t yet so I cannot speak for everything but the things I have I’m generally genuinely pretty impressed. My only gripe with anything about decalthalon would have to be that I bought an electric skateboard from them almost two years ago now “the elwing” loved it looks like an old school deck it’s pretty fast and very smooth and the battery lasted me a good while before I’d have to charge it for a even with all the going up hills in sf. And I mean I rode that thing everyday for about six or so months until randomly the remote just stopped holding a charge . So pretty bummed I brought it in thinking these guys are cool and they make their own products so they’ll help me or at least point me in the way right direction . Yes and no when I brought it in the manager tried but couldn’t even fix it he said he’s look for a spare and call me when I could come and get it.... a week and a half went by so I chose to just go in from there they said they never had any or anything plan to give me one then I got upset and the manager came out again this time calling the factory that makes them and then told me for $65 I could order a new one. I laughed and asked are you serious ???? I just paid $545 for this thing not even six months ago and you’re telling me something that isn’t even my fault you’re going to try and charge me how much?! And so I left and haven’t been rode it since which is a damn shame .....At any rate that’s been my only problem with the place

Ok this store never has anyone in it, but be prepared to wait a long time regardless. And when you finally get someone to help you they move at a snails pace, have NO idea what they are doing/talking about, and they are not the brightest tools in the box… not to mention if they have anything it won’t be in your size because apparently they only carry xsmall or xxl… I know decathalon from living in France but here it seems like a Walmart than a sporting goods store… I would rather go to another store and at least get competent service and find the product in stock… I don’t know why I go back, last time ever.

I bought the Triban RC 100 and although i was a big fan of Decathlon, this bike was having a lot of issues which are not covered by the guarantee: tires were punctured and wheel bearings of the front wheel was broken after only 5 months of basic usage. The rest is ok but the gear is not really solid either, you need to keep pushing on it for the lowest speed.So yep, i dont know for the other models but for race bike i would recommend something else. The

Love the place. Take my kid there constantly, he loves trying all sorts of sport equipments. Friendly staff, very helpful but gives you space if you need. Great prices but not forsaking quality. Some innovation too that I dont see with other companies at this price point. Totally recommend!

Originally there was a misunderstanding about an offer that I was emailed but not given when I got into the store.Happy to report it seemed to be a teething issue with the new store and their customer service have very quickly gone out of their way to correct the problem so Im revising the review to 4 stars.I used to shop at Decathlon a lot back in Europe and its great to see a fully stocked store in SF (the market store is... cozy)

I was impressed by the layout of this spacious store with almost anything you would need for any sport or related activities. There are plenty of staff friendly and eager to direct you but for the uninitiated just stroll through and get the lay of this place. There are plenty of products on sale for you to consider and I grabbed a handful.

Excellent experience with Antony on Kayaks and hammocks! Wonderful customer service and great options. Looking forward to my first kayak trip.

I was excited when Decathlon opened their first store in San Francisco on Market Street but this location is the real deal! Its much larger and has a much wider selection of products. When shopping for sporting equipment, especially on a budget, there is no better place to go.

As a gymrat, Im in love with this place. Everyone is so customer friendly here, but today Antony was so informative and went the extra mile. I will be here every weekend, as my daughter treats it like her gym. Love it!

When buying my stuff the staff member said couldve made it easier with a card but (shoulder shrug) he takes my money and puts it in this machine buys a gift card and uses the gift card to complete my transaction... I was so confused. They dont take cash but will make a plastic card to THROW AWAY IMMEDIATELY!!! THANK YOU DECATHLON FOR MORE TRASH.

Very happy with customer service and impressed with knowledge of staff. I have needed to buy a sturdy travel backpack to use in lieu of my roller bag for a while but been intimidated by choices. Stopped in at the new Potrero Hill location to look at options, and ended up buying a backpack that day. Anthony was super knowledgeable and was able to listen to my travel needs/style, and help me select a pack. I ended up deciding to purchase that day bc he took the time to explain all the features of the packs I was choosing between, teach me how to best use the packs (adjusting the straps, etc.), and just really made me feel confident in my choice. He also noted some accessories that might help me get the most out of my pack, and in a way that was informational/teaching (rather than pushy upselling – thank you!) He also explained that the prices are so affordable bc Decathlon makes their own gear, so there is no “middle man.” The pack I got saved me $$$ in comparison to another retailer, and I’m super excited to use it on my upcoming travels. Thanks very much to Anthony for your help!!
