I just bought a motorcycle here after months of looking everywhere. I went on Craigslist, OfferUp, and other dealers, before making up my mind. Its not just that their prices are similar to owners sellers, but they offer bikes that you can trust are in great condition. Also, you can count on Bens advice to find the right bike for you.No pressure, no bs.This is the right place to buy a motorcycle.
MotoJava was recommended to me by a friend. After checking their website I saw a bike I was interested in. I went down and was assisted by Ben in sales. I ended up purchasing the bike I wanted and couldn’t be happier. The owner Motto Mike even delivered it personally. The entire process went smoothly with no need for me to deal with the the DMV at all. Definitely recommend them and will be back when I buy another bike.
Great little gem on Vanness! We aquired a few parts bikes here for dismantling. The showroom has a nice variety of starter to intermediate skill level motos. Thanks again Mike!General Manager - WILL
The guy running the show today needs to look up mansplaining. I was the unlucky recipient of a free lecture for 4 minutes on how to get on a motorcycle. I opted to get on the motorcycle from the right side because people were blocking my path to the left side. I absolutely could have looked more graceful (I was expecting the saddle not to stick to my pants), but it was still totally uncalled for and my 3 male friends who saw the entire thing agreed it was inappropriate and said theyd be furious too.I understand he was a former motorcycle instructor and its in the spirit of wanting to help, but its toxic and irritating to assume female riders are in need of a lesson from you. Im always shopping for bikes but I do not plan to go back here.
Great small shop. Super knowledgeable and will give a no BS answer to your questions and help you find the right bike for you. Highly recommend MotoJava
Do not buy from here. They sold me a bike that supposedly had new fork seals. Well one of the new ones were leaking and after 3 trips back they still didnt fix the leak. Now come to find out the fuel system is rusted out causing the bike to lose power when on long rides.
Bought my first bike here - 2018 Honda Rebel 300! Looked brand new even though it wasnt. MotoMike was really helpful, delivered the bike to me in San Jose because I wasnt feeling too confident riding on 101, and gave some good tips and advice as well. They take care of the registration and documentation as well, so I had to worry about nothing!
Excellent first time buying experience, new rider so they delivered which was perfect! Looking forward to beginning my motorcycle journey.
I emailed them about a TU250X which is not emissions compliant in California and am aware there are requirements(at least 2 years old and have 7500 miles on it) with other exceptions such as having been registered already by someone who moved here with the bike and registered it. I just wanted to know how this was done to verify legitimacy, however it seems I had offended the person I emailed as they seemed to push me off saying the bike wasnt for me and suggested that I should trust them because of their 22 year run. First off I would like to apologize as I meant no offense, however I would like the right to know the history of a used bike before attempting to buy it. That said, I would have given 1 star but the person, despite seeming fairly frustrated and didnt want to sell me the bike, still turned me away fairly calmly. It was still quite suspicious and slightly rude but Im more than happy to hear them out and improve the rating if at some later point this is explained and I have a good experience buying a bike, given that they still would be willing to work with me after this review. Again I dont have anything against them. I just want to know what Im buying.
My experience was quite unpleasant. Moto Mike as he calls himself was rude and unhelpful. He chose to be condescending when asked the simple question if the compression was checked on a used motorcycle. What a loser. I have cash, and yet he refused to communicate like a professional and lost a sale. When asked if he was the store owner he was still rude. Ill be taking my cash elsewhere and buying from someone thats respectable.Edit: Yes this is a real review. I spoke with mike about the DR650 with around 1400 miles. You are a liar and have a terrible person representing your business.
This is an honest and no-bs place to find a good bike for you. They will propose bikes for your needs, and if they don’t have one that’s appropriate, they will even send you elsewhere! I have also serviced my bike here with the same top results. I really trust this shop and I always have good interactions there.
Definitely recommend Mike at MotoJava. Very knowledgeable staff and great deals. Sold my bike to them on the spot just took approximately 30 minutes or less. Very professional!
I bought a used Honda Rebel 500 bike here and had a good experience. The staff is nice and very knowledgeable. My headlight went out about a month after I bought the bike and they replaced the bulb for free.
Offered to a trade in and to buy one of their bikes at FULL asking price, they misunderstood as a low ball and Immediately flew off the handle with middle finger emojis and extremely rude language. Shocking and disgusting way to do business.
I have purchase 2 motorcycles from Paul and Joe over the years and both experiences were great! These guys are knowledgeable and arent out to sell you something you dont want or isnt right for you. They take a very thoughtful approach to making certain that the bike you buy is just want you are looking for. Their prices are always extremely fair and and they are two of the coolest guys you could ever want to do business with. Really, no complaints.
The most trustworthy Moto retailer in the city, especially if you’re looking for your first ride. MotoJava has long played this role in the city, and I’m glad to see them surviving in today’s east side gentrification apocalypse that has driven out so many other local shops.
I started riding 5 years ago and purchased my first 2 motorcycles from Joe and Paul. Both bikes were in excellent condition and each time when I was ready to move on I sold the bike back to them and get the next one. (My third bike was a new one.) They are the most respectful and ethical gents Ive met along the way. They look after their bikes ALWAYS.I would give them 10 stars!
Best, most trustworthy second hand dealer of motorcycles in the city. They’ll take care of you and won’t even sell you something that won’t work for 5,000 miles more without even thinking about it. If it’s for sale there, it’s instantly $1,000 better value than most private sales because it’s been completely looked over by these guys. Best of all, they don’t ever sell you a bike that’s inappropriate for your level.
The new owners are great. Really enjoyed purchasing my latest bike from them. Wasnt charged an additional fee to pay for the entire bike with my credit card! They also took $5 bucks off for the push-up challenge!
Bought a motorcycle from them service and prices very reasonable. some tiny cosmetic damage since it was used but otherwise it was practically new. if you want to buy a used bike this is the place to go.
Mike knows everything there is to know about bikes. Been trusting him for 15 years. Never a problem with my bikes!
Moto Mike and Lucy are the best. They have looked after me and my Triumph many times and I trust them completely! I wouldnt dream of taking my bike anywhere else.
Moto Mike and Lucy are the best!Mike was very helpful and informative. He helped me decide on the perfect bike for me, Ninja EX650. The bike was pristine when I bought it. Low mileage, annual service, brand-new tires, etc. His prices are competitive and he seems genuinely interested in serving his customers beyond what you might get at other shops in town. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!PS $5 off for the push-up challenge. Make sure you ask for this!
My husband and I have purchased 3 bikes from Paul and Joe over the past 9 years. We also bring them in for service and minor repairs as needed. Theyre honest, knowledgeable and trustworthy. Dont forget to check out Pauls cool crash photos on his Ninja 250 :D
Moto Mike took great care of me. Ive since bought a new bike, but Ill always miss riding my first love. Their prices are competive and take a no-BS approach to sales. I cant recommend them enough.
Bought my first bike here from Joe. Awesome guy and great place. Sad to hear that the business has been sold to new owners. There are some big shoes to fill!
MotoJava is the best! No contest! Moto Mike (owner) is fantastic! I was buying a scooter for my husband but had to drive it a little ways to get to the truck that I was transporting it with. Though I have my M1 license, its been about 5 years since I rode anything. Moto Mike took the time to give me a refresher. He patiently explained everything about the scooter in detail, then filled out the paperwork for the title (only took about 10 minutes), and I was out the door! Best customer service, ever! Thank you!!!
MotoJava is the best motorcycle shop anywhere. If youre looking for integrity and customer service, this is the place. Seriously
Ive had very little reason to take my bike in for other than routine maintenance, and whenever I do I call Moto Java first. They are wonderfully helpful, and even help troubleshoot and diagnose over the phone to see if I can fix things myself. Very friendly, definitely my first choice!
MotoMike was fantastic! Cares about the bikes and the customers. Helped my girlfriend and I find the right bike for us with realistic expectations
These guys are fantastic and super nice! I take my bike here once a year for a tuneup and they keep it running great!
Called to find out what I could do to get my motorcycle appraised and was told that since I went to another dealership, they would just call them and find out their price, so I should just take whatever I get offered there. I was then hung up on. Not giving them a 1 because I never made it TO the shop in the first place, so at least I didnt waste any time before being turned away.
These guys are really an asset to anyone who rides in this city. Theyve earned the hell out of my business and I really cant recommend them enough.I took my bike by after fiddling with it for a few weeks without a successful repair. These guys were happy to help me figure out what was wrong and even talk me through what to do myself. Ive finally got the parts I need on the way and you can be sure Ill be making an appointment with MotoJava for the work. This is the kind of business that a whole community should support. Drop by and see for yourself!
Very helpful and knowledgeable. Good deal too.
The guy that owns the shop is a very rude guy I went down there with a scooter that I used to own Paiggio MP3 500 the three wheeled scooter I went down there to see if I can sell it to him and hes like theres too much damage on it he said he can only give it 500 bucks Im thinking I spent well over $4,000 just to buy it not to mention about how much it cost keep it up with maintenance he even took it for a test drive and he like was really rude about that too I would suggest not to go there theres a lot of other better places in San Francisco to go look at motorcycles
Had a great experience buying a 2016 fz-07 at moto Java earlier this month. I love the bike and it is in impecable mechanical shape. I had seen similar bikes on Craigslist for around the same price, but buying from a mechanic/dealer gives you guarantees and the piece of mind you normally dont get at private party prices, plus they take care of all the dmv paperwork for you. Lucy was cool af and I would highly recommend buying a motorcycle here.
If you are a new rider looking to buy your first bike, look no further. I could not have possibly had a better experience buying a Honda Nighthawk 250 from MotoJava. Moto Mike was astoundingly professional and helpful. I wanted to buy a used bike because there was the possibility of me dropping it and me just generally roughing it up a bit as a new rider. But I didnt want to buy one off of Craigslist, because if you dont know the mechanics of bikes its hard to know if youre getting ripped off. Plus I just really wasnt ready to deal with a bunch of maintenance atuff right off the bat. MotoJava is the PERFECT place if you are looking for an affordable used bike, but in excellent ready-to-ride condition as it has recently been refurbished. But that isnt what ultimately sold me on the shop, and what will keep me coming back for the rest of my days riding in San Francisco. I was a bit nervous about driving the bike, and asked if moto Mike wouldnt mind showing me how the bike worked and maybe even giving me a little driving refresher before getting on. Moto Mike took an incredible amount of time with me to show me exactly how the bike worked and then gave me a driving lesson to get me confident on the bike. Keep in mind this was AFTER the point of sale, so there was really no sales incentive for Moto Mike to do this. Him and Lucy genuinely just seem like kind, decent people. So if youre looking for a bike, GO TO MOTOJAVA!
Buyer beware! Bought a bike from these guys that was supposed to only hove 1,300 mile on it. Took it back within the first week with a squeaky front disk brake, 3,000 miles later I had to replace the front brake pads. The pads were worn so thin there was almost nothing left of them. Both pads had been sprayed with silicon to keep them from making noise, I also found out that the original battery had been replace with a weaker smaller battery.
Whats that, youre looking to buy an overpriced motorcycle without being able to take it for a test ride?? Believe it or not, these mental deficients satisfy all your criteria!
Lucy is a damned good mechanic with a ton of experience.
Lousy everything
Smells like gasoline......THE END. 👉🏍
Tons of bikes and the mechanic was kind enough to show us around with no pressure to buy.
I love LucyLucy is the best!!!!!
Rocks!
