I had a great experience at Caars. Dan spoke with me on the phone, originally offering an appointment time about a week later. When I told him the urgency of my need, he told me to bring my car in right away and that he would see it the same day. He took time out of his lunch to take a look at my car.Within 2-3 hours after dropping off my car, Dan called me back and gave me the synopsis on the car. All costs were up front and handled professionally and efficiently. I got the feeling this business is honest, trustworthy and competent. I will go back to Caars when I have car trouble again.

Last week while I was at work some not so nice people cut the Cadillac converter out of our Jeep. With the help of AAA and CAARS we were back on the road within days. Was visiting from out of the area and a high pressure radiator line went out. Located CAARS through AAA website. Called Vince explained situation. He just about diagnosed over phone and said part was Cadillac dealer part only and he could have it at his shop the following day. The car would be ready for pick up by close of his business. The car was towed in to his shop. He called first thing in the morning with his diagnosis and suggested all hoses be replaced as they were factored original and were 15 years old. He laughed and said got good use out of them. He gave me a price over phone, the work was completed on time and he discounted my bill for having AAA. Recommend shop to anyone.

The kindness and professionalism that I experienced was refreshing. The staff is gracious, honorable, highly competent and most pleasing to work with. I have an older car with high milage. I asked them to examine all aspects to see if anything needed repair. They did with the result being one quart of oil added. They are mechanics who can be trusted, caring about the customer.

I went to this auto shop for the first time when my car needed its breaks changed. I called them and while they offered me service that day I couldn’t leave my car overnight due to work but I made an appointment for the next day. The next day I dropped off my car, and the day after that I had my car back. I experienced excellent and swift service. I paid electronically so if you favor Apple Pay or anything similar you’re good. They even checked up on my car a few days later to see how it was doing, and I assured them that it was running great. This happened a few months ago and my car is still doing great. I’m definitely going back.

Spoke to Dan on the phone and explained the air conditioning stopped working on my 2007 Dadge Ram pickup. He explained in detail what they would do to diagnose the problem and what it would cost. Vince checked me in, confirmed what they would do and the cost. I received a call about an hour later. They found a leak in one of the hoses from the AC compressor to the interior cooling unit. He gave me a new estimate to replace the hose and said they would have it done by the end of the day. At around 4pm Vince called and said the truck was ready. The bill was exactly as quoted and I thought very reasonable. They showed me the old leaky hose and explained where the leak occured. I also received a discount for being a AAA member. Overall this was a great experience. Dan and Vince were professional, friendly and courteous. I received a follow up call the next day to make sure everything was still ok and to confirm that I was satisfied with their work and service. They won me over. CAARS is now my go to shop for all my auto and truck service. Try them. Im sure youll experience what I did. A great shop and great people.

This is the best mechanic I have ever gone to. Price lower than most and top quality work. I was referred to them by a diesel mechanic. He called Caars the “gold standard” and they are.

This was my first experience with CAARS and I will definitely be back! My old car needed several repairs and I was concerned that it would be really expensive and would take a long time. I had read their positive reviews online and they are on the Auto Club list of approved auto repair services, so I expected a good experience. But it was better than I expected. Vince listened to my explanation of what my car needed without interrupting, then asked questions to be sure he understood. He said I could bring in the car that day. The next morning I received a call detailing the work needed and the proposed price for each part and the the total expected cost. The proposal was very reasonable. One of the repairs my car needed involved some rather labor-intensive electrical wiring work which ultimately required more time than was originally quoted, but they held to the originally quoted price, which was a welcome surprise. I spoke mostly to Vince and Dan but everyone there was very friendly, courteous, and helpful. I’ll repeat part of the opening sentence of this review: “I will definitely be back!”

Called for a battery replacement. Got one quote the first time I called. Got a higher quote the second time I called. Was told they had the battery in stock and it would take about 30 min to replace. Yet even after giving them the part number of the existing battery, once I got there they said they had the wrong one and had to order it. Instead of taking 30 min away from an hourly paid job I had to take 3 hours. I understand mistakes happen. But 3 hours of lost income more the doubled the cost of the repair. Again. Mistakes happen. And I will give them another chance. Ultimately they were friendly and apparently did a good job.

I was turned onto CAARS by a local tire company to get my car aligned. Since then Ive used them for all my car repairs because they have competitive pricing against the dealer and also they follow through with any commitment when making a repair. In addition, they have always managed to get my car repaired quickly so I dont loose time or money. The place is organized, clean and the mechanics explain things and I feel confident in their workmanship based on all these factors and because my car is doing great due to their workmanship.

Dan was very professional and clear with what the issue was and they fixed it same day! If I didn’t live 35 miles away from them, I’d make them my go to shop!

Quick & proficient service!

Called and set up an appointment for the morning of my next day off. I showed up at the agreed time and was met by a friendly, knowledgeable mechanic to dis cuss my needs. My car is a 1967, which scared a couple of shops off. He asked me to leave it for a couple of hours. I recieved a text notification that the car was done. I picked up the car, no surprises, and drove it home. The steering wheel was straight for the first time in years, and the car drives much better and goes straight down the road. The shop is clean and organized. I would recomment them to a friend.

Second time using their services. During this CV-19 time, it can be stressful to know you need to get auto work done as well. Staff at Caars was very professional and provided me a fast time frame to return my car after dropping it off when they opened. Came by for an oil change and tire rotation. I live in San Diego, and travel for work to Oxnard, I had a day off and visited a friend in Dana Point, my alternator went out and there was a very small fire 🔥,! Was at Sushi 🍣 place so called AAA, a local women said call Caars, and they happened to also be a AAA place. Vince was assuming he fixed my truck a friend drive my back to Oxnard so I could work Thursday and Friday! Did late pick up. Very honest I would send my daughter there for work On her car if she needed it!

In today’s world of scams and dishonest people, I have repeatedly uses Caars for my vehicles and have found them to be very honest about issues, not trying to sell you work you don’t need, their pricing is reasonable, and they are always completed on time and sometimes while you wait. Staff is well trained, with Certifications. Everyone is very friendly and professional. Prices are reasonable. Mechanic found an issue I was not aware of and fixed it.BAD NEWS: One day prior to my visit I called the shop mid-morning - no answer so left a message with questions I had; the call was never returned. Next day I took my car in for headlight adjustments and oil change; also to check front bushings. Cost for headlights was posted on Shop Fee bulletin board, but was quoted a 10% higher cost. Was advised that both front bushings need to be replaced. I asked for a quote and was told they needed to check prices and availability - still waiting for quote 3 days later... Going on a road trip soon and need this repair done!Norman H.Update:Brought my car in for a brake job. These guys definitely earned a 10! Job was done at the time promised. Cost was a little BELOW their estimate. I also had a warning light that I could not figure out. Turns out there were actually FOUR issues. They diagnosed and fixed them all and the charge was next to nothing. I will definitely be back again. Honesty and competence define this shop. Go there!
