Had The Breakfast Sandwich and Avocado Toast Supreme this morning. Had Coffee to Go Along. The Breakfast Sandwich that I Inhaled was Fresh. The Eggs prepared before your Eyes are Perfectly cooked and placed inside a Fresh Roll with Ham, you can add tomato and or cheese. My Wife Loved The Simple But Tasty and Filling Avocado Toast Supreme. Excellent Counter/Cashier Customer Service. Our Food Was Absolutely Delicious.
This is a great little coffee house more or less off the beaten path in Santa Monica and it gives real authentic down home vibes and a original charming atmosphere without all the pretenses you find in so many other coffee houses. I’ve always enjoyed coming here and the coffee “bitches brew” is delicious and unique to this place. The baked goods and the quiches are delicious.
Will return to experience the beautiful patio area in sunshine rather than an almost rainy day. Have to find out the deal with Wi-Fi, signs posted says theres NO Wi-Fi yet many clientele were on their laptops. One person seemed to be on Skype. No soup. No grilled cheese. Sometimes they have chili. Good coffees.
Love this place. Been here twice already. The service is a bit of a wait but I love the cafe here and the food. I ordered the eggplant sandwich. It was absolutely amazing. Recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious light fulfilling meal. The side salad is pretty good as well. Friend ordered the turkey and Swiss which they said was also good. I love the urban/earthy feel to the cafe. Theres lots of seating outside as well. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a casual atmosphere to have brunch and coffee.
Great food, great coffee, great environment. Im going to 18th Street Coffee Shop regularly for 7 years and although it has modernized and changed quite a bit, it still has the same friendly faces, the same beautiful Mosaic tables indoors and Outdoors, and a complete cell phone ban, which once you get used to it is absolutely fantastic. Theres a rumor that a celebrity owner, and the painting by Joni Mitchell above the counter doesnt help dispel those rumors at all! Love love love this place!
I came in here one day when their credit card machine was down. All I had was a fifty. They didnt have the change for it. So, being fairly regular, they just have me free coffee that day, and I got them back on my next trip.Love this place and the people. Interesting conversations can be overheard about the entertainment industry and other unusual topics. Definitely a favorite of locals and not transient tourists. No cell phones are allowed, so it makes a great place to work for the afternoon. If I get tired of working alone, I come here for a nice change of comfortable, outdoor atmosphere.
Stopped in this morning. Coffee and breakfast were great! The owner is a very nice man and a good conversation. 100% recommended
Good healthy foods and sweet desserts. Loved the quiet atmosphere and patio dining. Very comfortable and relaxing. Staff is very kind.
Nice Venue. Inside or outside. Great employees good food. Even healthy foods and burritos in addition to good coffee, tea and delicious desserts
A really fun coffee shop to go to. The interior is fun and the outdoor seating is nice too. The service is really great. Last time I was in, I got a medium even though I paid for a small and the woman behind the counter said I made too much, enjoy! And smiled. I will definitely be back.
The aura is homely, casual, friendly. The staff are warm and happy. Coffee and food are excellent. Great place to read, draw, contemplate, socialize, relax and get away from the rat race. Outdoor seating with a secret garden-like setting. No wifi.
My car broke down right in front of this place. While waiting for the rescue I popped in for some tea and a little energy boosting snack. The young man that served me was very nice, spent time to help me make my choices, suggested his favorites and generally made me feel comfortable in this already cozy little place. They have a nice tea selection, sweet snacks and gluten free options.
I dont know what to say, I expected a Starbucks, but its truly more up end and with a much better selection of fresh food.I was there only 3 times due to a project I had in the area, they remembered me after the first visit, and if you know me, Im the least memorable person you could ever meet.
18th Street Coffee House is my hideaway every time that I want to organize my business away from home. The place was well maintained and always gives me good vibes to cheer up my day with a great tasting cappuccino.
Great coffee and food. Lovely atmosphere and staff
Loved the decor and ambiance of this little coffee shop. Their nutella latte was delicious! Liked that it had the home feel and not super corporate and stuffy. However, dont feel out of place if you dont have a mac and arent working on screenplay. Looked like your typical LA-everyone is an actor-everyone is trying to be a screen writer place. Pretty trendy and hip. Offered a variety of different snacks and foods. Good for a light lunch.
Very intimate feel to this place. The staff is friendly and helpful, the coffee and food are amazing. Great place to bring a book and hang out awhile.
Nice and cozy spot and relaxing place. Staff is easy going .my coffee is delicious.
Pretty cafe struggling to figure out what it is. Good selection of tea but espresso is left to bitter before service. Kitschy interior and a prominently featured “WE DO NOT HAVE WI-FI” sign give an instant and accurate impression of the experience. Okay to stop in for a morning coffee or lunch if you are craving one in the area but not worth seeking out.
Great spot! You can sit outside on the patio and there is almost no noise from the card or just sit inside. Coffee is really good and so is the quiche! Staff is really friendly too! We have a winner :)
Lots of seating in an inviting and airy environment. The staff is always friendly. The coffee is decent, the food is tasty and the prices are reasonable.
Very nice cafe. Good outdoor area
Very kind people. Brought me a cup of coffee when I was cold and in the rain. Random act of kindness that was greatly appreciated. Great coffee by the way. Thanks.
An unexpected find but a cute place. The staff was kind and thoughtful and the coffee was delicious. I had an all around great experience
Best coffee Ive ever had.Prefer this place over starbucks any day
The coffee is delicious, plentiful, and varied, and if you need a bite to keep the caffeine shakes away, theyve got lunch, breakfast, and other sweet desserts. The outdoor patio is quiet, peaceful, and forbids the use of cell phones (conversations, calls, and other noisy activity).Be warned, there is no WiFi, a policy I can appreciate, but dont come here looking to waste an hour on social media. Bring a book, or a friend, or something more than your addiction.
This coffee house hits it all out of the park - great coffee, great atmosphere, and not overpriced. Its so hard to find a place in Santa Monica that has more than one of these qualities but somehow 18th Street manages it! They also have a no cell phone policy that people seem to really stick to - making this cafe a really unique place to get work done, catch up with a friend with no distractions, or go on an intimate afternoon date.
Great vibes. And try red tuna sandwiches
Called to see if they sell coffee by the pound because my father really likes Bob Dylan and apparently he used to own the shop or whatever. The girl on the phone said no, we use coffee from Groundworks and just starts giving me unwarranted directions. I ask if they sell any other gift-y items and her reply was this is place where people come to read and write. And then she hung up!Never have had such a rude customer experience in my life.
Awesome coffee, food and amazingly friendly staff and service
Arguably the best cafe in Los Angeles. Very comfortable, good coffee, the staff are very nice, and the ambience is eclectic and warm. If you havent tried it youre missing out!
Really cute cozy spot. A great place to meet friends for coffee and a bite. Lovely enclosed patio.
This is a little coffee shop here in Santa Monica. All the staff is great and a fun to be with. This little shop is enjoyable and quiet place just to hang out with friends or having a meeting with co workers or just reading a good book.
This place stinks: its totally not charming, pleasant, and comfortable. Stay away (so that I can have it all to myself; I love his place)My only real complaint is that theyre not open on Sunday. Open up on Sunday and take my money!!
Awesome coffee, food and amazingly friendly staff and service.
Not a high end coffee place: if youre looking for well crafted cup of coffee, not here. If youre looking for an airy, homey vibe to chat, work, or eat, its here.
Best atmosphere for writing or humaning with friends. Now serving Caffe Luxxe coffee. And, they have great gluten free options. (Simple boiled eggs. And oatmeal. And a coconut macaroon that’s too good.) Comfy seats and friendly staff. Don’t come here... it’s always easy to find a seat.
Nice staff. Yummy baked goods. And tasty teas.
Love the organic coffee options. I choose a Fair Trade organic coffee....very tasty! I may order the quiche next...it looks good! Playing Johnny Cash!
A great neighborhood coffee shop in an of Starbucks and Coffee Beans. It is an awesome spot to turn your cell phone off and just sit back to enjoy your coffee (or tea).
Friendly staff. Absolutely delicious carrot cake and something called lox bread, toast with salmon and cream. Just amazing.
Got a very good vibe from this coffee House. Had a delicious cup of organic coffee with Non-GMO soy milk. Its a nice little gem of a place, you must try it if you get a chance.
Told me to go outside while on the phone. The delivery was pretty offensive and they said its mandated by the city of Santa Monica..... Starbucks right down the street doesnt do this so seems very strange.
Quaint, good coffee, marvelous pastries, warm, friendly atmosphere, phenomenal, helpful staff...a great place to meet friends and strategize, get some work done, meet nee good people or just have your own quiet time! The ONLY problem is that SMPD is very on the ball and if your parking meter expires you WILL get a ticket!
The best of the best. Simply the friendliest, most idiosyncratic and coolest place in LA. I love you guys!
Laptops okay outside. Really pleasant. Serbian spoken.
Wonderful coffee shop to write, eat, drink some tea or coffee, and keep writing.
Great but limited food. Outdoor seating on a vine covered trellis enclosed patio. No wifi (yeah) but look and talk to the persone across from you.
I feel that this place has an appeal to a certain type of person but it is definitely not my cup of tea. The coffee is pretty average and the options for food and beverages are very basic. It is a very “santa monica” type of place but for someone who takes coffee very seriously I wouldn’t recommend it.
A lovely little place. Good food. Good coffee
Nice kitschy ambiance with outdoor seating. Had an iced tea and it hit the spot on a sunny day.Don’t come here if you’re expecting to use WiFi though. They don’t have WiFi available.Otherwise it’s a decent place for a quick coffee or tea.
Very friendly no cellphones or weirdness quiet patio and inside dining own parking in alley several spots or meters beautiful service and great yummies
Rumor has it that this place is owned by Bob Dylan. But everybody I ask there always says that it is not true. Either way, nice place to stop by for a quiet and low key lunch.
Cool under the radar kind of cafe with a sweet patio. no Wi-Fi. old school feel. refreshing
Really solid lunch fare, and the coffee is great. I blew a few afternoons here while visiting, the WiFi is solid. A very nice little coffee house.
I love this spot- it has great artwork, delicious food and lovely staff. Its the perfect place to sit and write.
Among my favorite neighborhood cafes. Its a super chill place where you can easily spend all day working at a computer (no wifi but you can sing in through CableWifi if you are a member), reading or writing, and listening to the birds chirps in the patio. A gem!!
Terrible customer service. Ill be happy to go into further detail about our brief experience here at a later time, but right now there are more pressing things to tend to than to detail how obtuse the people who work here are! The place is filthy too.
Groundwork coffee, good food and friendly service. A nice, shaded outdoor patio also.
Had a great visit at this coffee shop, make it a stop on your next visit to this town. Freshly baked goods on the premises.
Nice, quietly and friendly place and I like a lot to spend a time reading there. I think that the owner is Bob Dylan
Very nice place to sit and have a cup of coffee or a light meal.
Staff is so friendly and the place is gorgeous! Good prices as well!
Amazing baristas, very friendly and service oriented. I love getting the green ice blended with almond milk here
This is one of those hidden gems that not enough people know about. Its family owned and run, great food, beautifully friendly staff, great loose leaf tea, and outstanding coffee.
This is a wonderful little coffee house with great ambience. But it has horrible hours. It is really only for people who dont have day jobs.
Came here for meeting. Didnt order anything but the venue seems pretty nice. Pretty easy street parking nearby.
Cool layout and vibe, and very relaxing atmosphere. Great place to read or do work over a cup of joe.
The sweetest little coffee shop around. I wish I lived near here so it could be my regular hangout
Love this place Ive eaten there for years and had coffee also for years
Really quaint outdoor patio, amazing coffee and friendly staff :)
One of the last places in Santa Monica that is not a tourist trap.
Nice cafe with a beautiful garden. basic fare for breakfast and lunch.
Amazing coffee plis good selection of little bites with it.
Loved it! Great coffee and ambiance.
Nice place good coffe and food but have no internet
No Wi-Fi, what is this the year 2000? Seriously, No Wi-Fi! Other than that the place is spacious and quite nice.
Really cool atmosphere and great coffee only downside is theres no wifi.
Really nice place and relax while on your lunch break, and the coffee here is delicious!
The most chill coffee shop in LA. Service is wholesome; the food and beverages are all high-quality and consciously prepared; and the seating is presented as if youre chillin at an ideal home-feel surroundings. Only negative is them not providing wifi, but hey man, bring a friend, pre-downloaded work, or a good book and youre all good
Im such a coffee person but Im also used to Starbucks but I decided to give this place a try and wow did it blow me away. I will definitely be coming back here.
Quiet, good food and drinks, free parking, enclosed patio, not crowded. Westside gem.
Loved this place... great atmosphere
Love the Elvis sandwich, yummm!
Erica is the greatest! 😊
Lovely coffee and friendly vibe.
OMG Is this like huge. But they have lots of workers behind that counter. Clean place. And all the computer gurus are in their laptops and iPhones. Hahaha. Love it.
Excellent staff and ambiance!
Absolutely love this place the Barista Tiffany is fabulous
The smell when you enter here is unforgettable. All of my friends like to come here
Nice cousy place to hang out..
Food is ok ... A little bit overpriced
Nice ambience.. the coffee could be a little better though.
Great service and excellent cold brew.
Cozy cabin like atmosphere with tranquil outside garden 🙏 . Free WiFi and hanging out is encouraged but the entire place is a no cell phone zone which is refreshing! 👍
