Wonderful ambience and lovely outdoor seating. Great service. Delicious food, not oily, feels healthy, and some of the flavors are unique. Must visit. The waiting time peaks in the day around 1230pm. We had the lentil beet sandwich such was great (5/5), Blueys Breakfast (4/5), and sweet Halloumi, which was a unique dish with the right amount of sweetness - only a hint. All ingredients tasted really fresh. The Blueys Breakfast did have one of the best bacon Ive had = light and crispy.
Honestly y’all, it was such a cool vibe at Blueys. I ordered an Iced Horchata Latte and a chocolate covered donut with drizzled peanut butter on top. My husband got an americano coffee. There was nice music playing. They had a really beautiful outside dining area. We had great customer service! They took our order and prepared it quickly. We really enjoyed our visit!
Awesome selection of breakfast and lunch items. Got the breakfast burrito and a cold brew; loved both. Friendly attitude and very open atmosphere. Plenty of outdoor seating on some tropical beachy patio furniture and picnic tables. The aesthetic is very pleasing. Great music. Great people. Great food.
Maybe they screwed up my order but first time here, ordered the Little Fatty. According to the menu its supposed to have Sriracha aioli on it but if it did I cetained didnt taste it. It was bad but as it was it tasted no better than a Breakfast Jack from Jack in the Box. I dont mind spending money on delicious food but $9 and a 30 minute wait in line for the same thing, same taste, $1.50 from Jack. Plus one for the ambiance.
Super small portions, average food, very slow, high prices for what youre getting. The atmosphere is great though and parking is pretty easy. You come to this place to see and be seen, not for the food.
Wish there were more vegan options without the rude cashier.I placed an online order for pickup & before I went to the counter I asked for a glass to get water.. when I went to the counter I placed it on the counter after I was done with it and the cashier said, you have to put the empty glasses in the dish tubs & then I can take your order. Completely taken aback after having worked in a coffee shop/restaurant for 3 years, I respectfully put the glass in the dish tub. I wouldve never asked a customer to do my job in a million years. She was rude about it like I already should have known.I continued with my pickup & she said that I was going to be charged extra for the avocado. I said well since I had the eggs & cheese taken off would it be alright to at least get 1 item subbed for 2 things I didnt get? (Like most places will do.). She was rude, not understanding of my issue, & said there was nothing they could do. When I persisted, she said shed get a manager who made a 1 time exception for me.
As an Aussie living in LA Im always excited to find a place that heralds my home town, because I am excited by the anticipation of finally finding a good coffee place. Sadly Blueys was not it.Coffee was bitter and burned, it was pretty clear the bean/machine hadnt been dialed-in, but worse than that was the dirty chai my partner ordered...Pretty sure the barrister (in true Aussie form) just gave it a go, but mate....No good.Food was pretty good though, 👍 would absolutely go back for that. Pick up the coffee game and Blueys would be the best Cafe in Santa Monica
Bondi Harvest is on top of my breakfast & brunch list now. The place isn’t fancy. But it feels casual & charming enough to come and go any weekend. Food is tasty and feels healthy (ofc, depends on what you get). Staff is friendly. The interior has a cozy feel to it, and you can enjoy the sun in the outdoor seating.I’ve tried the ‘Bowl of formerly known as’ and the ‘Sweet squash pancakes’ so far. I don’t think you can go wrong with either on your first visit. Be aware that the line gets long fairly quickly on the weekends.
Absolutely love this place and was coming here since they barely opened. Food is so so delicious. Now got packed so come and expect some wait. But definitely worth it!
If you hate disabled people and love mediocre coffee, this is the place for you. No handicapped parking, no ramp to entrance, and an additional set of steps you have to use to get to the counter and order. Told that I couldnt wait inside on their one bench for my coffee order, even after I told staff I have an autoimmune condition that causes me to have a horrible reaction to the sun. I was the only one asked to leave and not allowed to wait inside, despite at least four other people standing in the same area waiting for their orders.
Portions are painfully small, do not come here if you are hungry! Our order also took over an hour. The owner was nice enough to give us something from the pastry case but honestly my $16 breakfast burrito was 6 inches long and 2.5 inches wide… not worth it, at all. A whole scam.Update: from looking at pictures, it seems the to go orders get smaller portions. Will not be coming back but I would recommend if you have at least 40 minutes to wait and aren’t that hungry- maybe try it out, you could have better luck than me.
Great food, worth the inevitable wait a justifiably popular place like this will have.
We ordered the breakfast burrito and the squash pancakes.Their food selection is good and creative
Perfect spot for morning coffee! We had banana bread and cappuccinos and the outdoor seating was lovely.
Holy Heck! Ive lived right around the corner from this place for YEARS and didnt event know it was there. Its a little bit in the middle of an industrial area and a school so its hard to miss but you definitely dont want ot miss it. Had brunhc there with a few friends theyve set up a lovely area out front of their space. The food was a little small in portion but BIG in flavor. Id be careful about parking here. There are spots dedicated to businesses and they will tow. I want to go back for that breakfast burrito now!
Dreamlike experience... would have put 5* if it werent for lack of parking. Food and experience definitely a 5*Nestled in a street-industrial zone. Getting there was tricky, parking was not easy as all spots featured no bondi harvest parking. The place looked like a private coffee joint for offices and studios around.Place was cozy and charming like you were stepping in a Aussie beach dream. Staff was sweet. Food a bliss to the soul. Thanks to the owner and staff for the dreamlike experience🌈❤️😊
Cute little breakfast place hidden in a corner. Squash pancakes taste healthy and delicious. Avocado spread between layers of pancake introduce a super interesting flavor combinations. Avocado well used! We also got chicken sandwich with fries and their fries were amazing as well! This place can do healthy and unhealthy food right lol. And the outdoor seating area is so adorable!!!! Breakfast here in a sunny morning is one of the best experience I can ever recommend
Really good food, I just wish they sold beer so I could come for an after work drink!
What an absolutely awesome find! I am Australian and as much as I try, I just cant get that ahhhh moment at Starbucks or Coffee Bean and the like. Yes I am a coffee snob! I like quality with a taste and aroma that reminds me of our unbelievable coffee culture in Melbourne back home. The staff are super friendly and the service is awesome. The menu is very nice as well. I visited this place twice during my stay in Santa Monica. Genuine real coffee pleasure is hard to find in North America, but this place is a real gem. 5 Stars is simply not high enough.
Visiting from NZ so when I saw aussie themed I thought I might as well try. I was not expecting it to be so busy and happening. Nice food, nice coffee.
Im no expert on Australian cafe culture, but I recently spent about 3 weeks staying with a cousin on the Australian coast, close to the border of Queensland and New South Wales. After my extended Aussie trip, I can say this: Bondi Harvest comes very close to capturing the breakfast experience I fell in love with down under! The flavors didnt necessarily wow me but the freshness, vibrancy, and authenticity were all there. Would happily return when I find myself on the Westside.
Very nice place with outdoor seating and great food
The pancakes are delicious! Coffee is also great and orange juice too, however be ready for a long line, and you first have to order and then find a table. So take your time and wear comfy shoes to wait.
Really enjoyed brunch here! I got the fried egg sandwich with soyrizo added and it was delicious!! My dad got the breakfast burrito also with soyrizo and loved his as well. The outdoor space is distanced and the ambience is great! I also got a lavender latte which was delicious as well. Very aesthetic and hipster brunch spot which is exactly what I was looking for :) will come back!
Best breakfast ever! I loved that place... Such a cool location and for me it was the perfect way to start in the day. They have a lof of different breakfast and they do have delicious coffee, fresh juice and more. Everything seems to be quiet healthy. Tjey are good organised and you will find this pöace always clean and proper.
Meh. I dont get the hype. I left completely underwhelmed (and hungry). I met my coworkers there for breakfast after hearing how good this place was. I ordered the squash pancakes and was initially encouraged by the impressive plating. Enthusiasm quickly turned to disappointment as I tasted the overly sweet albeit flavorless glop. As a native southerner, I grew up eating Michelin-worthy breakfasts for under $10 at humble roadside diners. So I was bemused by this overpriced, vapid restaurant version of a California-cool insta model. It looks impressive but theres little going on under the surface. On top of the disappointing culinary experience, there was no parking, no table service, and the lukewarm tap water was served in a carafe. The coup de grace was the ambience. Yes, the restaurant itself is boho-chic, but its situated in a depressing industrial park and there was construction happening right by our table. What, pray tell, was the point of dining out? I suppose the only redeeming part of my experience was that I wasnt responsible for picking up the tab.
Huge props to the two Aussie dudes who created a beach-inspired cafe that perfectly replicates the brunch culture in Sydney. This place is a really cute, small wooden shack with a rustic surf vibe. You wouldnt think that this place is situated in a lot with other offices and studios.I got the:1) caveman bowl: my FAVORITE bowl of theirs. the chimichurri cauliflower rice is so delicious. its hard to believe that Im eating veggies that have SO much flavor. the housemade hummus has a strong garlic flavor which tastes amazing. 5+++/52) rainbow bowl: this tastes pretty similar to the caveman bowl since it has a lot of the same ingredients so this was another hit. 5/53) acai breakfast bowl: the BEST granola Ive had esp since its mixed with cinnamon. I love that the acai comes in a solid form instead of the liquid ones thats mixed with a lot of fruit juice. you can actually the acai flavor in this 5/54) winter squash pancakes: I was looking forward to this dish the most because it looked really interesting with the avocado. Not sure if they just didnt cook it all the way, but the pancakes were a little too soft/fluffy so I got tired of it after a few bites. the avocado was bland and didnt quite pair well with the pancakes? 3/5PARKING: The first time I came here, I missed the entrance so keep your eyes peeled...Theres a really small sign that says Bondi Harvest which leads you to the middle of a random lot where parking is VERY small and narrow. Theres probably no chance getting a spot so instead go down one block and park in the residential area!Happy brunching! :)
This is a great place for a casual, healthy breakfast. They have a wide variety of healthy drinks and smoothies. I enjoyed the Bondi Breakfast, and my friends got the beet+lentil burger, and the rainbow bowl. All of it tasted clean, light, and delicious. It was crowded on Sunday morning but they have plenty of seating outside.Google maps just kind of takes you in circles because it tells you to turn into a street that doesn’t exist. It’s in a office complex, and parking is available directly in front of the restaurant.
Chicken sandwich on gluten free bread and the berry pancakes are great.
The chicken fried rice is so amazing!! I also tried the watermelon Vamos a la Playa smoothie. So yummy and customer service great!
Blueys is a cute little cafe, fairly priced and with a pleasant atmosphere. I had the hamburger, which wasnt bad, but I dont think Id order it again. Id definitely try other things on their menu however.
Delicious coffee! Super easy to place an order online and pickup on my way to work. Im a picky coffee person and their flat whites are always perfect. Thanks for offering plant based milk options that taste good!
Travelled all over the US last couple of Months. This is easily the best Latte in the US. Highly recommended. Food is great too
Super laid back. Great food and coffee.
Dog friendly which I always appreciate. Everything I ordered was delicious. A little expensive but that seems to be a common theme in Santa Monica.
Really cool coffee shop/brunch place with lovely staff. Be warned though, it gets very busy on the weekends!
Was OK, not my favorite place
Amazing food. A little wait, so if you expect your food in 5-10 minutes, go to McDonald’s.Not sure how people can leave a 1 star review on this restaurant.
OMG! They are awesome.
We stopped at 7pm tonight and they said we have already cleaned our espresso machine and refused serving 4 of us espressos when we drove to the shop for that!
Great bowls and on a hot day its awesome, tables can be scarce and Ive had a few cold coffees unfortunately, I think the drip just gets old. But Ill drive all the way from Venice to breakfast here sometimes.
Delicious Gluten Free Pancakes
Normally I only like fried chicken sandwiches but their coconut milk marinated chicken sandwich was so JUICY and FLAVORFUL! Would love to come back here for brunch one day
Great spacious location and several delicious food choices!
It was a good breakfast. Nice place as well.
Food and vibe is good, but the seating system is terrible flawed. People dont wanna wait in line so they go sit at the unsanitized tables that havent been cleaned yet - hence the waiter thinks the original company at the table is still there so it doesnt get cleaned - which take out actually free tables for the people who have already ordered their food but now cant find a free table because they are occupied by people in line instead - conclusion is that it makes a bottleneck and an unsafe Covid-19 environment. But hey, get it as takeaway instead 😁👌🏼
Portions small takes forever and not very good go elsewhere
Falafel burrito is awesome
Wonderful brunch! Would truly recommend the squash pancakes & Bondi breakfast, but everything looks delicious! Great coffee too.
Exceptional service given with a laidback California no drama style! Love the people here and the food.
Love these guys. Awesome flat whites and cortados! My only minor grip is that their loyalty program is set at $5 per purchase, any my coffee is always just below. But, I suppose my loyalty comes from their great coffee and awesome charm. And did I mention their banana bread?
Nice seating setup in their parking lot. Terrible coffee. Stale pastries. Come for the parking lot...
Food was good.
Amazing Aussie style cafe. The bowls and smoothies are amazing. Great vibes. Will be back
Second time coming to Blueys and of course Im never disappointed with the service or food!Pros: A menu made up of amazingly fresh and snap worthy dishes (to bad I ate mine faster than I could snap a picture 😅)Pumpkin Pancakes, Sweet Squash Pancakes and of course the breakfast bowl/dish and there delicious smoothies.Cons: Definitely a Typical Pricy Cali Hidden Restaurant(2-Smoothies & 2-Pancake orders =$50 ish),Peanut Butter smoothie tasted more milky than PNB, Can be CRAZY BUSY with SUPER Limited seating on the weekends.
One of the best brunch places on the westside
The sweet squash pancakes are to die for! The fried egg sandwich is also incredible.
Just loved it
