Have used this shop since we moved own here about 1 1/2 years ago. They have been nothing but professional and responsive! We bought two bikes here, had them serviced and love the bikes.Also recently had an issue with a lost brake pad . I thought it was only 6 weeks since I had gotten tune up but it turns out it was 3 months. Nevertheless, I walked in and they replaced it on the spot. Great service, nice people, would highly recommend!

I dont really understand how people are having an experience where the staff at Popcycles comes off as snobby or rude. I did not get any names. I showed up 2 minutes past opening at 9:02am, told the woman at the desk I needed two tires for the bike,, she stated it would be $95 for the two tires. I brought my bike into the shop. I was not there 5 minutes, and she was more than helpful and pleasant. By noon I got a call from a gentleman telling me my bike was ready, and that he also replaced two bad spokes in the front tire at no cost. I showed up again at 9:02am the next morning. My bike was right at the front desk for pick up. I paid exactly the $95 I was quoted and was on my way again in less than 5 minutes. Quick, accurate, professional, and pleasant business operation. The only thing I thought was that $95 for two tires was a bit pricey, however I did not shop around, nor will I in the future as I know what kind of service I will get at POPcycles. I will absolutely use this shop again if I need any further repairs, or maintenance done to my bike.

This is where I go for everything bicycle. They have a great selection of bicycles and equipment, and they handle everything I need bicycle related. It is where I go for my tube and spoke repairs, and they stock and install accessories for your bike. Class act. Highly Recommended. A+++

This use to be our family bike shop. Lately they have become snobbish. Questions like what kind of bike and we dont work on those. Recently had a problem with a new relatively expensive bike. I was quoted $89 only after she asked how much the bike cost new ($1,500) but when the manufacturer called they upped it to over $200 stating they dont like to fix third party issues (SRAM gear adjustment). Also I recently purchased a couple of items for a family member across state. When I mentioned I may have to return a seat if it wasnt needed Denise said she didnt want to sell it to me if it might be returned. The gentleman who was doing a bike repair told her not to worry about it. The seat was a great gift and wasnt returned. Village Bikes took in the repair on my newest bike with a lot of enthusiasm. My suggestion is to remove the no attitude from you front page or work on it. Please read the No Attitude response coming.

Denise and Dylan are awesome! We rented bikes for a day on the Legacy Trail and thoroughly enjoyed the bike rental. Dylan was knowledgeable about options along the trail and recommended a great tiki bar. Highly recommend for the outstanding service and friendly personalities!

Stopped in to ask a few questions and ask about bikes for my wife. If you don’t know what you want, you won’t find it out by visiting them. Front desk woman was very short and basically told her she needed to research what she wanted before coming in. We will not be back. Not the way to welcome new customers looking to get into biking.

I purchased my bike at a local department store and decided to ride trails at Alafia Park. The trails were too much for the poor craftsmanship and parts, the damage caused needed professional attention, and looking for a near by shop, I found POPcycles. I was heard of my chief complaint, I was explained in detail what the plan of action would be, and given an estimate. Delivery date was ahead of time, I was shown what was removed and replaced, and the fee was right on point. POPcycles delivered an improved and different bike. I am extremely anxious to get back to the trails, thank you gentleman at POPcycles and will see you soon with my love ones bike.

I was lucky enough to find a bike the color and style I wanted during this bicycle shortage. Everyone was extremely helpful, honest, and very informative on sizing and such. I will come back for any future maintenance needed.

My wife and I just purchased two bicycles from POPcycles and what a pleasant process it was. This is not the place if you want to just buy a bike in a box and set it up yourself. And theyve done stuff for us in the past. In an era big chain everything these guys remind you good service can be personal, too. They have good t-shirts too

Another local shop had my wheel for 4 days and did nothing with it after making excuses.I ended up taking it to POPcycles and wish I would have originally. They were friendly and repaired my wheel for a fair price and completed it on time . I will return when needed and recommend them.

Had a problem with a pedal clunking, so took to the shop as it was close to home. I explained what the problem was and was immediately advised that he could not look at the issue as it was a Walmart bike (which it wasnt). As a so called repair shop I find it hard to believe that they are unable to fix a simple problem on any bike. So if you would like to be belittled this is the shop for you. ### Update ### As i cant reply the the very kindly worded reply you just sent me i thought i would add my thoughts here. Ok, my bike wasnt the most expensive bike (only $300). However i would have been happy to pay to get it fixed and riding that day. Went to another local store for them to tell me i just needed to buy a new set of peddles. I was going to do that at your store any way. I cannot say enough about this bike shop. Whether you need a simple accessory or an extensive bike repair, this place can do it all. I have had my hybrid bike repaired here countless times and have never been dissatisfied with any visit to the shop. The owner has serious issues with the way they treat customers. Bullying customers because you dont like a review instead of taking it as constructive criticism can be seen through out the responses to the one star reviews. They also only have about 8 bikes in stock in a small store so the idea that they like to let customers look around is a complete lie.

Great service! I had my 2- bikes back in one day. One is 15 yrs. old and was in need for extensive repair, surprisingly they had all the parts in stock. Their very knowledgeable and friendly. Just regular nice people. They even wax your bike!

I cant say enough nice things about this store. Despite being incredibly busy, Brad took the time to really assess what we needed and fitted us with the perfect bikes. They didnt have a color that I particularly loved, but told me one was coming in a couple of days later (Friday) but since it had to be assembled, it might be Saturday before it was ready. Friday 1pm I get a call that the bike is ready! Underpromise, overdeliver - love it. The store is the epitome of a small business with people doing what they love and sharing the good vibes with their clients. Would recommend them any time!

We rented bikes from POPcycles for a group of eight rowers and coaches to use as transportation between our hotel and Nathan Benderson Park . Denise and Jeff, the owners, were incredibly accommodating and friendly. The bikes were clean and well-maintained, sized appropriately, and with locks and helmets provided. We will be renting from them if we are able to qualify for this regatta again next year.

My wife and I went into pop cycles to look at getting a pair of bikes for the legacy trail. We did not have a lot of knowledge for what particular bike we would need. Denise and her husband Jeff were incredibly helpful. They let us test ride a few different bikes that would be well suited for the type of riding we want to do. The shop atmosphere is clean and comfortable and you get a sense of professionalism due to their vast knowledge of bikes and their components. Five stars isn’t a high enough rating for the folks at Pop Cycles Sarasota. Jeff, Dylan, and Denise have each helped transform my rookie cycling experience since moving to Sarasota into a beloved passion. When I first walked into the shop and asked them to help me make an old bike road worthy again they didn’t hesitate to jump in an meet me right where I was. I was using an older model bike to commute to and from work and just needed a safe and reliable ride. Not only did they set me up beautifully with adjustments and customizations, but when I was hit on my bike by a careless driver these lovely people took it upon themselves, without being asked, to go way above just restoring my bike to its original state. They spent their own time and money to upgrade several performance features out of the kindness of their hearts at no additional cost! When I went to pick up my trusty ride I was filled with emotion and moved to the core by these amazing members of our community. I got a Pedego bike for a steal at an estate sale. After going to a specialty shop and being quoted $375 to get the mechanical stuff done to it, I brought it to POPcycles. I provided them with that same quote which they could have agreed with to make some extra money, they quoted me and fixed the bike for $93. I’m not good with names but the three people working were awesome people who made me feel very comfortable, the exact opposite of how I felt at the “specialty” shop. Couldn’t recommend them enough!!

Just had my road bike tuned at POPcycles. Jeff not only got it running smoothly again, but he cleaned the whole bike like new. He and Denise helped me make a service appointment so that I could drop the bike off after my morning ride and then pick it up later the same day. I needed a few replacement parts, and Jeff patiently explained the options. Very friendly and honest - my bike store of choice.

We are from out of town and stopped in to get my daughter a bike helmet. The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. They took the time to fit the helmet for my daughter and even suggested some places around town for our family to visit. Will definitely return when we are in town for any of our cycling needs.

This store is why you buy local. I just needed a basket for my Electra cruiser. They must have every basket available in their shop, the selection was amazing. On top of that, the customer service for something as small as a basket was top notch. She wanted to see a pic of my bike to help me pick the right basket. I ended up with the perfect basket, a new bell, and a cupholder. Its the little things. Definitely getting my next bike here.

Excellent fast bikes service. My bike broke down while I was in the area on vacation and needed it fixed fast. They fixed it fast. It was not a simple a job. We also bought another bike while we were there. Wonderful friendly place.

Friendly staff and nice quality bikes. From the bike shop, it is a short 2 mile ride to the Legacy Trail. You can ride on the bike lanes or sidewalks. We had a very nice ride to Venice and had lunch at Cafe Venice. The total mileage is 27.8 miles

POPcycles did an outstanding job of tuning up 2 bikes that had been sitting in my garage for almost 2 years. Jeff is extremely knowledgeable and went above and beyond in tuning up and repairing both bikes. I took each of them out on the trail for a 20-mile test ride and both ride like brand new again! Very reasonably priced and convenient location for Palmer Ranch folks . . . I highly recommend!

Couldnt fill my tires with air because they had their compressor blocked off. I asked if I could use a hand pump and they said it would be 7$. I said yes but the dude was giving attitude and wouldnt do it for me anyway. Lazy people 👎

I already left a 5 star review but after the service I received I had to update again. They not only fixed my bike for 1/4 the cost i was quoted at another shop, but Jeff went WAY above and beyond for me and my bike. After trial and error with the janky electrical set up that my bike had, he was able to order random parts that werent from the maker ( throttle and display screen) and managed to hook that up which if he wasnt able to than I was going to have to spend another 800- 1100 for a new battery. It was a total of $40 + labor for this last ditch effort to save my bike!! Thanks again!

Trek bike became hard to shift. Took it to Pops for a tune up and repair. Turnaround was quick and the problem was fixed. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended

Honest, trustworthy, and fun bike shop! I am not a savvy bike shopper, so I was nervous when I found a decent used Giant cruiser bike and had to find a shop to get it cleaned up. My dad warned me to look out for people just looking to take advantage of my lack of knowledge, but I did my research beforehand, followed the good reviews, and ended up at PopCycles where I had the BEST experience! The owners are friendly and cool people, the shop is beautiful, and they have all of the accessories you could ever want! I added a beautiful white basket and matching white bell to my bike, in addition to getting it tuned up, etc. Their pricing is reasonable, and their work is superior. My bike was ready several days early and its been perfect for a couple of months now! Thank you, PopCycles!As an aside: They also had to deal with a small mishap of giant biting ants living in my bike (I had no idea as I had picked it up the night before and it had been in my car overnight) and they couldnt have been nicer or more professional about the whole ordeal. Im still really sorry about that, guys!

I was recently looking for a new bicycle and visited several stores in Sarasota and became frustrated with the aloof and pretentious attitude of most shops in town. Then I found Popcycles! This small family run shop is located in Palmer Ranch and is amazing. The shop is run by a husband and wife team. They are knowledgeable and extremely customer service friendly (but not at all pushy) and the mechanic department in the rear is really incredible! This man is like the bike whisperer and can clearly fix anything! I will never walk into another bike store and highly recommend Popcycles!

At POPcycles Bike Shop I was blown away by the service I received. At first glance the shop is very well put together with quality bicycles on display complementing a nice bright Floridian color scheme, hand crafted detailing, and a roomy floor plan. I brought in my 1984 Bridge Stone road bike which I had been riding daily and had previously performed all upkeep myself. After a reliable local bicycle enthusiasts suggestion I decided it was time to take proper care of my bike and see what work could be done to better the ride. After speaking with Jeff briefly I realized he is extremely informative and I found myself learning a lot about my bike, and bikes in general, in a very short amount of time. I left my bike in his care to be assessed and the same day I he called me letting me know in detail what he thought my bike needed, what could be done, and what the pricing would be. I followed all suggestions and was very pleased by the price he listed especially after having pricy run ins at other local shops. Not even 24 hours later I received the pleasant call that my ride was ready. I could immediately tell Jeff went the extra mile in caring for my bike as it was glowing a brilliant red I had never seen on my bike before. I was taken through the tune-ups performed, shown the parts I had replaced, and was explained what could be down in the future should I choose. When I took my bike out for a test run I immediately could feel the wheels were rolling smoother, there was no excess clicking or clacking that I was so used to, and when I mounted the bike and rode around the block it felt like my 30 year old bike was replaced with a new age Specialized. Every function on the bike felt brand new from the shifting levers to the brakes down to the hubs. I had no idea my bike was capable of reaching such improvement and will absolutely return to Jeff for all other cycling needs. We also had good conversation over converting classic road bikes to fixed gear rides and was shown an impressive number of projects he has worked on before. I will definitely keep this in mind next time I find a vintage road bike for a steal that I wish to restore and turn into a one gear no fear road warrior. I have a good number of cyclists I will be sending to Jeff and I promise anyone who pays POPcycles a visit will walk or roll away with a big smile on their face. I brought my kind of beat- up Electra to Jeff after my local bike shop in Bradenton told me to put it out at the curb because it was unrepairable.In one week, Jeff made it look literally brand new. It rides like a dream! Weve since taken 3 other Electras for tune-ups and I cant say enough good things about Jeff and Denise.

Popped into Popcycles on a whim after driving by during a errand run. I wasnt really in the market for a new bike, however my 20+ year old Trek 7000 mountain bike while still in amazing condition was starting to cause me a lot of discomfort every time I rode it. My wife and I really enjoy riding our bikes casually which was becoming more and more difficult with my Trek 7000 as the riding discomfort was really making the rides unpleasant. I already knew my next bike was going to be a beach cruiser because that suits my body, and the casual riding my wife and I enjoy doing. Jeff was extremely helpful, and answered all my questions. Im 66 and weight 225 pounds so my options are always limited, but Jeff was able to point me in the right direction. At 1st I was a little skeptical of the Electra Lux 1 Fat tire beach cruiser he recommended, and honestly was almost dead set against it until I took it for a spin. The bike handled, rode and looked great! The bike originally had cafe style handlebars which we changed out for some ape hangers as I wanted a even more upright riding position. Soon as Jeff installed the ape hangers, and took it for another spin I knew that the bike was coming home with me. I completed the purchase with Jeff installing a basket on the front of the bike which is where one of our 3 dogs rests when we go on our bike rides. If your in the market for a quality beach cruiser give Popcycle a try. Jeff is very accommodating, knowledgeable and easy to work with. I felt very comfortable with my Popcycles beach cruiser investment, and now Im riding around with my wife (and dogs) with zero discomfort. Thank you for making bike riding fun, and enjoyable again! My wife and I (and dogs) really look forward to our nightly bike rides!

Living in Sarasota for many years, I have never taken a bike tour nor explored our magnificent Legacy Trail. Had it not been for PopCycles close proximity to the Trail & Jeff & Denises attentiveness patience in answering my many questions & fitting my friend & me with new Townies to rent for the day, I wouldn never have discovered this part of Oscar Scherer State Park (Osprey, Florida) or the lovely new places to dine along the way to Venice. I highly recommend your visiting PopCycles & taking a test ride on one of their many very cool new models!
