Went in to check it out looking for a place to park my parents RV. Michelle was super nice and helpful even though they dont have what I needed. The place is clean and well maintained.

Things went perfectly with the agent (I’m terrible with names, I think it was) Jennifer and was easy as 1,2,3 getting one of the last a/c units at the size I needed. Spacious property, easy access and clean.

From the first day we used their space till now and we have changed room size three times already, it has been a terrific experience. Clean, safe, and secure storage facility. This facility certainly accommodates my storage needs. BUT my only disappointing response is the rental agreement increased every year on the anniversary of my rental date since 2011. My concern and question is did Big Jims costs go up Every Year proportionately to justify increasing fees for long service customers!

We used the Big Jims on Fruitville near Cattlemen Rd. for almost 5 years. Our unit was a 5 x 10 in the main building. We started using it because it was climate controlled, protected by fire sprinklers and unbelievably clean. They treat for pests regularly for added peace of mind. The security is great, but not too crazy to be a pain. During the 5 years, the billing was always accurate and on time, the space stayed immaculate and both of the managers went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. They have hand carts near the doors to make loading and unloading as easy as possible. If I had another need to store anything, Big Jims would be first choice hands down.

I highly recommend the Big Jim Storage on Fruitville Road. Paco was easy to work with and he made moving, storing and emptying a breeze.

I searched for self storage near me and found this GEM ! This is not the typical storage place. Service is amazing, the place is super clean, always carts available to transfer my stuff to and from my unit, but my favorite thing was the PRICE !!!I dont usually review places, but they truly deserve FIVE STARS ~ Thanks

I help a friend pay off his unit an move his thing out including a motorcycle that was in the unit. When we got there they wouldnt let us in an we had to call the cops on them finally the cops told them they had to open the unit an we were able to clear it out after 2 hours of waiting

We have used other storage units in other states and this is the best. Great facilities, service, security, and accessibility.

HORRIBLE! I was trying to be a good samaritan and help a poor man who unfortunately got incarcerated retain a few of his belongings. His wife had a power of attorney with permission to gain access to the unit. We were told it was sufficient and drove from punta gorda to sarasota only to be told the manager has to be present. This was after back and forth on the phone with a different story each time. Bottom line was because the unit hadnt been paid for, they were trying to aucton off his things despite us bringing the cash! If they could stall us a few days longer they could sell his things successfully! They had already cut the lock off despite telling me WE could not cut it off or it would damage their building. THAT was a lie. They had taken it off already and accessed the unit! After calling the police, we were allowed access to the unit. However, this was after an extensive wait. I realize people have policies, but you dont tell people one thing, make them rearrange their day only to not follow through on your word! Sorry my friend was upset, but it was due to the lies we were both told. Shame on you Miss Michelle for locking the door and pretending to be a victim! If they were your items, you would be upset. I truly hope you dont recieve the same service you give! While my friend may have been acting upset, I was not and you were rude to me from the start. Customer service goes a long way. This place did not have it. Sorry to have had to inconvenience the sheriffs department with this nonsense. Hopefully we didnt take you away from someone who really needed assistance. Police should not have needed to be involved. A nice attitude from an employee who could read would have worked.

We have been storing with them since their opening, the standards for security and cleanliness have only gotten better. Our wine is secure, but available, so we can be fairly spontaneous.

Excessive use of gate codes, to get to the second or third floors of the climate control building. Otherwise it will not gain access to the elevators. You can access every other thing on the property without it. To exit the property guess what you have to have your gate code. God forbid you go there and forget your gate code or a power outage.I had to call Sarasota finest to exit they happily showed me to just lift the gate up. Another thing that grinding my gears I complained about the similar set of issues within the first month and nothing ever seems to of changed six months later. Another thing that seemed very unprofessional was that their own staff will tell you how they feel overqualified and overworked at least at this location. Im both upset and happy that they at least have the Memorial day holiday off the unfortunate part was that I could not get a hold of anyone not even a call service they just got a colorful message from me on their voicemail. For someone to label their business big they sure do have a lot of big dumb issues.
