Really nice shopping area with some great little shops. There are a couple of art galleries in this area that I highly recommend checking out. The prices are decent for the pieces I saw and I thought they were fair. You can also book a horse and carriage ride around the historic district here. When I went, this area wasnt as crowded as the shopping down by the river. I wouldnt pass up the chance to go back and see more.
So many choices for Meals, candy, ice cream etc. The atmosphere is pleasant and seems safe. During the day, no problems. But, at night my wife was a little uncomfortable. I never felt any threats ! FANTASTIC Place !
Cute little shopping/dining block in the historical area. Our favorites were Woof Gang (dog treats/toys) & Savannahs Candy Kitchen. You have to try the house-made pralines & ice cream/gellato. Yum!
Nice friendly market type road you can walk around and shop and eat. Tried the wine tasting and loved the historic scene.
Spent four days in Savannah with my friends went here every day. So much to do in and around. We used the trolleys to get everywhere. No car rental needed. Buy a hand made rose from Benjamin, he sits on the river front every day making them. Very nice man.
City Market is a must see/must experience if youre in Historic Savannah, GA. We have traveled to Savannah several times, but always did the River, historic sites, etc....never shopped, until this latest time. My daughters and I loved City Market. Its very walkable, safe, and has something for everyone. There are some small museums, great restaurants, boutiques, and souvenir shops. Everyone is sure to find something to buy, eat, or experience here. Highly recommend City Market!
Loved the atmosphere but it was very crowded and every single restaurant had an hour plus wait.
A lot of Changes since my last visit. Seems to have lost some of its historic charm. I was able to purchase yellow rice & a Gullah woven basket.
Nice atmosphere and scenery but bring lots of money. Tourist prices prevail.
The city market center in Savannah is awesome. Whether it be daytime or night time its a very interesting and entertaining place to be. Vangos probably has probably has the best pizza in Savannah.
TONS OF HOMELESS WANDERING AROUND. I wouldnt want to drink too much and end up being a crime victim. (WE LIVE IN DOWNTOWN CHICAGO...WE KNOW THE SIGNS)
This was such nice area with a lot to do. There are so many beautiful little shops and variety of places to eat at.
I had an AWESOME time! I met so many different people from other Cultural backgrounds and races EVERYONE was so friendly. I will definitely be back! SOON!
The city market is a nice place to walk around day and night with plenty of places to eat and grab a drink. There is many things to see and this is an epicenter for tourism information and tours. Definitely worth more then a day to explore especially if taking any tours or walking off to tour yourself. Talk with people from the area and find out key places to experience.
Lots of shopping to experience with many artists displaying their wares. Its more of an outside market, its a good place to go and just browse or to grab a beverage from one of City Markets bars.
Bring your walking shoes great place to walk shop and you step on cobblestone I mean water ships you see it all no problems all types of foods
Lively area with tons of things to do. Loved that we were able to walk down the street while drinking. It gave me a New Orleans vibes. A lot of the people were friendly but we did notice some ill mannered comments when we went out and our group was less diverse. The business owners along the strip however were nothing but friendly and upbeat. I would visit this area again.
Wow...Savannah is awesome...12 squares w businesses bars and restaurants surrounding them...a great spot for 1 to 7 days...amazing city organization!!
A bunch if little shops with niche fits. Got some dried meat and a dog toy from a couple. Visited on a Sunday. Need to go back on a Friday or Saturday to feel full ambiance.
Had an amazing time at the City Market. So many great shops and restaurants, I had a ball.
Gone down hill in the last decade, used to be wonderful. Never know when you will need your bullet proof vest
The place is very historic, has victorian style and brick structure homes, cloth boutiques, bars, art galleries and restaurants all kind of around a historic park. Gave a four star because I was expecting to see more since the whole city market is a small area.
Absolutely love this area. Love going to Vinnie Van Go Go for some awesome pizza to seeing the horse drawn carriages.
Lots of shopping and restaurants. Wish we had more time to explore them all. Would happily return.
It is a gem. There are so many stores and art galleries it was amazing.
The market was not as busy as I thought. However it was vibrant and fun as usual. Great tips would be to go there on weekdays. I went there on Monday right after the next day if the 4th of July. Huge difference in terms of crowd gatherings.
Great place to walk around, lots of food options and tons of adult beverage place. Cute little stores; an entire doggy boutique and an ice cream store connected to a candy store are just some of the highlights. Added bonus there is a black owned steak and seafood restaurant.
Waited 45 minutes for a 30 minute wait; no problem. Ordered Wings, They were overcooked and dry. The Mile High Nachos were flat, and greasy, Fried Mushrooms overcooked. Cook may need to turn down the heat on the grease!! Flies buzzing all around us. Wish I knew how to contact the owner!! This used to be my favorite place when in Savannah, never again!!
Great place to walk around or just sit and people watch...
This was a cool little area to shop through. Has some restaurants and art galleries.
What a fun morning. We visited the Prohibition Museum in Savannah. It was a blast. At the end of the self guided tour, there is a speak easy, to have an old timer cocktail.
Savannah’s best activities location. This is a must when you’re visiting. There’s something for everyone and plenty of guides to help you pick something that caters to your interests!
Fun place to walk around & drink. You can get cocktails to go in every bar/restaurant. We went in for the day. Id like to go back and spend more time in the area.
The food was soooooo good. The shrimp, grits, and collards tasted like Mamas except with a little heat. The grouper BLT makes you wanna sing. The prices were great. I just want to take the cook back home with me!
Went to Vinnie Van Go Go...Best Pizza...Oh my so Yummy
Quaint little shops throughout. Nice morning shopping.
Had a good time wandering around the shops and historical places.
So much fun! Many shops and restaurants. Live music and fun nightlife. When I was young, this was the place to be. We do love bringing our children here as well.
Nice and quiet place to sit and enjoy quick eatery locations.
Cool experience in Savannah! You can carry alcohol open in historical district. There are many neat places to go and see. Plenty of restaurants and bars downtown. They have horse rides downtown as well. Ghost tours at night. We went to a couple plantations outside of Savannah which is a very neat experience. Alot of history I never knew about. Also everyone was very friendly in and around Savannah. Looking forward to visiting again soon.
A few of the shops that were open had some nice stuff. It was a bit rainy so Im sure that kept a few folks away.
We visit this place just about every time we are in Savannah. Lots of unique shops and a nice variety of restaurants to choose from.Parking can be an issue, but we try to park at the First African Baptist church if there’s a spot available. (Parking fees help them with their ongoing renovations).
Definitely worth checking out. We didnt stay long but we browsed some of the shops. There are some interesting shops, art galleries with beautiful art work and the scent of food being prepared by the restaurants was amazing. There is live music in the evening.
Took the Old Town Trolley Tour. Our drivers were informed in their own unique ways and we enjoyed the explanation of history and remarkable architecture.
Fun, fun, fun! Come here on an empty stomach! Enjoy the food and music!
A unique shopping, dining, and drinks area of Savanah. A must visit
This was our highlight of our time in Savannah Georgia. There is so much history and places to learn about it was hard to take it in with just 2 days there. The restaurants and scenery was one of the most beautiful southern places Ive been too. The culture of this area was breathtaking. The people that lived there and even the people that were visiting were friendly and true hearted I could just tell by the smiles we received. 💜 thank you Savannah for everything!
Cool little area! Only thing is I wish there wasn’t so many homeless people laying around.
This place have a little bit of Everything. A very Historical Place to visit with alot to see. We took the Trolly Ride To see different Museums,Shopping, Great Restaurants Belfords Service and Food was Awesome. The Lady and Son was Great as well. Parking was Free
Cute couple of streets to stroll in Historic Savannah. Mostly restaurants, gift shops and tourist oops.
This city has a great open outside shopping and hang out space. With music in the evenings, you can just sit down with a drink and just chill.
Beautiful buildings, and tons of shops! If you come to Savannah this is a location that will not let you down!
A little underwhelming early in the day. Lots of art. Would be curious to visit late afternoon.
City market is loaded with shops and restaurants, my wife and I had a blast for our anniversary. we even went to the club that evening
We stopped here for a bite to eat after first arriving in Savannah. It started out fine but after a while, our server came out and asked us what we ordered for dinner. REALLY?!?!? He said they lost our order. The place had mostly cleared out from the dinner rush and they lost our order. I just dont get that. Our food was an Alfredo looking meal that was supposed to have a Cajun spice to it for my wife and mine was a simple burger. The burger was meh and the noodles for my wife had no Cajun spice whatsoever. Try someplace else. Not recommending this place.
Variety of markets in the area. Great place to go and experience a little of Savannah at each of the shops. Theres something for everyone.
Cute place but every other person was smoking and the whole place smelled of urine and alcohol.
If you are an art fan this place will suit you fine. But we were not impressed. Expected more like City Market, Wilmington. It is not.
Lots of fun tourist type shops and restaurants here.
Its a nice open outdoor mall with some live music and performers here and there. Only thing that sucked was finding a parking spot, so prepared finding one beforehand!
Fresh donuts I side the outdoor mall area.
I never visit Savanah without shopping and dining here. A lot of great finds.
We love city market, the kids play in the water and we get to shop!
So fun to visit, shop & eat!! This is a place Ill return to when family comes to visit because I know theyll enjoy the experience too!!
Neat place. Nice local art and gift shops
Savannah trip is great. City Market is just outside my apartment for this week. Ill be in City Market tonight. Take the Old Savannah Tours, 16 stops with Hampton. Mexican at Tequila Town Burgers at B&D Burgers are the food highlight so far.
Cool place to hang out and get a bite.
Alot of walking but it was nice.
WOW! Words cant describe how much of a good time my wife and I had!
