Have used for years and guys still don’t know our names. Have asked about text appointment reminders for years and nothing. Have asked about wifi for years as I sit and wait for my car would be great to do some business while waiting. No tv in lobby. Can’t count the number of times they have forgotten to reset service lights. If they don’t really care about you as a customer or your desires it does make you question how much they care for your vehicle.

These guys are the best. We have 4 cars from Toyotas to Cadillacs in our family and they have kept us on the road for several years. Auto service and repair is always top notch. We highly recommend them.

The folks at Coombs are the finest group I have ever had the pleasure of working with in car repair or really any service related business. They are as honest as the day is long. I lost count of how many times I thought I needed something major and they corrected me to a simple yet comprehensive solution.I wish they were doctors as my medical bills would then be much less. Even though I have relocated to Tucson, I still rely on these guys for anything important, it is worth the trip. Thanks to all of you guys for being the best a guy or gal could hope for.

Spoke with Leo trying to get a quote said we could they could do just labor called me to give me a quote and wanted to charge parts and labor after he already said they would do just labor since I have the parts. Total waste of time and they want to charge $30 to reset the service reminder which takes 1 minute to reset on the dash no special scan tools needed just a rip off place if you don’t know about cars

Very friendly and thorough. It was my first time getting service here I was scared because of it being North Scottsdale that the price would be high but I felt at the end I got more than enough for the pay. I dont remember who I spoke with but he was exceptionally nice and explained to me more than I needed to know. My car was making noise when turning and it was the plastic from the wheel well rubbing on the tire. $60 was the charge to get that fixed but they did an inspection and warned me of possible future problems including an explanation of how it should get fixed. Will be going here in the future.

We needed a radiator leak repaired on our Jeep Grand Cherokee, on short notice, and they came through with same day service (on a Saturday and without a reservation, no less) and at a very reasonable price (lower than my general Google search for similar repairs for my vehicle).Considering that our experience was consistent with the other outstanding reviews we read for them, I will trust Combs with all future repairs and service needs for my vehicles, and wont give it a second thought!

My brakes were squealing when I went to back my car out of garage. Called Eric and said probably tire dressing got on the calibers but bring it over, he would check it for me. Eric saw me right way and confirmed the brakes were fine and squealing had stopped on the drive over. Visit was complimentary.

My mother-in-law went to get her oil changed a couple of days ago. The Combs personnel were very kind to her and told her she really didn’t need to yet. Even though the mileage sticker (that automatically spits out) suggested it was time, they told her because if how she used the car, waiting a bit longer would be fine. With so many scams out there involving older folks, she was delighted at their honesty and integrity!!!

This was my first visit and I was totally impressed. I was greeted promptly on arrival and the work was completed in a timely manner. The estimated charges were very accurate and reasonable. First time I have ever had a mechanic/service center that actually tries to save me money. I know? Ridiculous right? Honest opinions, solid answers, affordable labor and parts. I love these guys. Combs Automotive has been my mechanic of choice for 25- 30 years. They have over that time cared for dozens of our family cars - during the years our kids were in high school and college they were maintaining our fleet of 5 vehicles. A few years ago, I entrusted Combs to do a complete mechanical restoration of my vintage 1970 Mustang. I went by there on a Saturday afternoon to look in on it, and found the mechanic WAXING my car...........just because he was so into the project!I trust Leo and Eric to always look out for my best interest while my car is in the shop, and have never been let down. I moved to Chandler a few years ago, but if I need something important done to my car, I still make the long trip to Combs in north Scottsdale. Their prices are always fair, they stand behind their work and that is why they have been there for longer than I can remember!

I rarely ever give reviews but, I definitely want to thank Mark and Leo for fixing the Jeep Cherokee. I was there to get some front end work done and upon learning I was recently swamped in the Verde River they gave the jeep a solid look and helped me fix many fluid issues. Ive taken my wifes Audi and our pickup trucks there, weve always had prompt, polite and competent service. They are faster than the dealerships and cost significantly less for the same work. We found them after the Scottsdale Audi dealership missed a nearly dead battery during a pre-trip service check up. Combs had the oddball battery and got it installed with only a slight delay to our trip.

I got an honest mechanic that took excellent care of my car. I will definitely be going back when need repairs done and refer my friends to this place.

What a RIP OFF. Combs Auto Repair in Scottsdale over-charges customers, and I will never go back.Not only do they charge too much and lie about what is needed, but the mechanics are ever revolving and the Service Manager (ERIC) is terrible. He always gave me the creepy-vibe - and he appears to be on some serious pain pills, as he speaks about it openly.They always have someone new to work on my car - everyone leaves - not one of them stays for very long. I live in far North Scottsdale, so this was the closest, most convenient place for me, but I recently met someone (and got married) and he suggested his auto repair shop, and OMG! I cant believe the lies and inflated costs that Combs Automotive scammed me with.No one was ever friendly; and the Owner... he was always so miserable and gross and smelled like a cartoon of burning cigarettes. I am so glad to be rid of this place. You owe me a lot of money back Mr Mark Combs! You flat out stole from me. My new repair shop told me that the last repair I got at Combs was not even needed!BEWARE! BIG RIP OFF. This place lies to you. And then doesnt do the work right!READ through the lower star reviews and find consistency with what I am saying. I am not the only one. And also beware; they pay for marketing and internet reputation management - which means fictitious 5 star reviews and the removal of low star reviews. How do I know this? I have tried several several service centers for several years before getting to Combs Auto Repair a few years ago. It was a great find! I have always been pleased with its excellent service throughout for our 2013 GMC Yukon XL and 2008 BMW 528i Sedan since then.

Poor customer service at Combs.I was not informed of a charge until my estimate was complete. They looked at my car for 10 minutes and asked for a $35.00 fee which I reluctantly paid. When I scheduled my estimate the day before my appointment, Combs should have been upfront with their charges and fees. I left Combs dissatisfied and they clearly did not want to earn my business.

I recently took in my 2007 Xterra which had ignition problems - Combs fixed the problem and the Xterra hasnt run this good since it was new. They didnt try to sell me anything extra and stuck to the quote they gave me. I have been taking my vehicles to Combs for over 15 years now and trust them to do a good job!

My 2002 Tahoe was experiencing random bouts of rough running, Service Engine Soon light on etc. It was one of those nightmare issues were the engine would run very poorly and every time I got it to Combs the engine was running perfectly. In the course of all this, all four catalitic converters were ruined. The issue seemed to be a bad injector.After changing the Catalitic converters and a couple injectors I got the car back, it fine for a day or so and then it ran even worse. Upon returing it to Combs it was apparent that all four catalitic converters were again ruined in the 20 or so miles I had driven it, and again the engine was running perfectly. The Chief mechanic agreed to keep the car for a few days and drive it to and from work, it ran perfectly for him until the 7th day when it again began to run rough. The mechanicwas able to immediatly pull over and with his tools and was able to diagnose the problem on the spot.As it turned out a rodent had been chewing on the main engine wiring harness in an area very difficult to view causing the intermittent miss fire due to the ignition not fireing the spark plugs.Combs did not charge me a penny for the second round of new catalitic converters, the time to do the diagnosis of the problem, or for the bypass wiring harness that their mechanics fabricated to correct the mouse caused issue.Since then I have put over 100,000 miles on the car (now 205,000) with absolutely no problems. I recomment Combs highly, they did not give up on finding what the problem really was, and stood by their work.

These guys are the real deal . This is how it used to be . You get scrupulous honesty, fair prices and great personal service . No over-priced dealership slickness or other nonsense . Good people doing good work . What more could you ask for ??

Used their service for years and had a routine oil change done. They nearly blew the engine up as they didnt check their work and ended up having 2 gaskets on the oil filter. They were kind enough to give me the $38 for the oil change but wouldnt pay for the $150 bill from a real mechanic that had to come out and fix it.DO NOT USE THEM!!!
