Came in to get oil changed and Darren (big bald dude) informed me that the noise I was hearing was one of my bearings going out. Also got 2 new tires. $846 and 5 hours later, Im back on the road. And the noise is gone. I appreciated Darrens straightforwardness and got the feeling from him that hes a good guy. Ill be back

Finally an HONEST mechanic. I had bought a Groupon to have my rear brakes replaced because Meineke said I needed new brake pads. When I dropped off my car at Car Tech they said they would check my brake pads and let me know if they needed replacement yet. They checked it out and said I didnt need new brake pads yet. I so appreciate the honesty and transparency!

We were in a bind and needed brakes ASAP. We could not find anyone willing to do the job so close to closing. The men at Car Tech said no problem. They were fast and efficient. They didnt overcharge either! I highly recommend.

DO NOT USE THE GROUPON (for front or rear brake replacement). You pay $60 to Groupon and then the shop gives you $30 off parts and another $30 off labor- you basically just split the payment between the shop and Groupon and don’t save anything. The Groupon states it’s a brake replacement service valued at $199 (you pay $60 to Groupon, redeem your coupon at the shop and get your stuff taken care of). The shop said the Groupon is worded improperly and that it’s really just a coupon for $60 off the service. We went back and forth explaining that we’re happy to pay for the additional work (rotor replacement, labor of such, and oil change) but that we shouldn’t be paying anything for the front brake replacement service. The shop just told us to talk to Groupon (who is taking a long time to respond and find a resolution). Can’t tell you about the quality of the work at this point, but based on this whole debacle we won’t be back.

Went for diagnosis of a small oil leak after smelling what I guessed was burning oil. After I had two completely different estimates from two other shops (both at about $2,800), Darren showed my from underneath that the leak was so minor its not worth the expensive repairs (given the age 11, and my avg miles driven 5K/yr). I felt like this was the first honest assessment; will be going back as a regular. Thanks.

I had a Groupon for an oil change at Car Tech on a VW Jetta, but neglected to read the fine print which excluded European cars. However, I had called the day before and made an appointment and informed them that I had Groupon for a VW and they didnt mention any exclusions. So when I got there a big argument ensued, but they finally relented and honored the Groupon. However, upon leaving the manager told me that Jews should not buy German cars. I informed him that I was not Jewish and that his comment was probably not appropriate. I dont think the guy was bigoted, just insensitive.

These guys are down-to-earth, honest and get the job.Go to these professionals and get the job done RIGHT!

Came in to get an oil change that i bought on Groupon. There wasn’t a single car there being worked in the guy told me they were fully booked. This was the most depressed looking man with the worst attitude and horrible customer service. Getting refunded on Groupon and will never be returning. Would avoid

Found out about this place through groupon but they won me over with there awesome service. They schedule their appointments well. I drove from flagstaff to get my tires changed here. Way better deal than discount tire and I was in and out. Highly reccomend.

Had groupon for oil change and tire rotation...Was told that they would not do the rotation because i did not actually pay for it Dont know what that means because i paid for a Groupon that includes it....anyway i marked a tire with a pen and it was never done.....so beware...will not be going back here..cant be trusted

Fantastic shop. The owner, Charlie really knows his stuff. Honest reasonably priced mechanic. While I waited for my car I watched him carefully explain to several customers what was wrong with those vehicles, the cost Be the time frame before those problems became serious. Highly recommend taking your vehicle here for oil changes, diagnostic or serious repairs.

I was in a bind when my car died and heard about Car Tech from another shop I had brought my car to for body work. I got my car directly towed to Car Tech and Charlie immediate started to help me figure out what was going on. Long story short Charlie took care of me, treated me like family, and didn’t gauge or take advantage of me with prices and doing stuff the car didn’t need. I highly recommend car tech as they are the first car place I can say I actually trust.

Charlie is a lifesaver. I walked in without an appointment urgently needing a new coolant reservoir and he immediately pulled my car into the shop.He was very helpful in explaining exactly what went wrong and what needed to be done. He even offered to replace a bulb that was out in my headlight, and a belt that was damaged.He ordered all the parts that day and within hours it was fixed. And most importantly, the price didn’t break the bank. Now I won’t go anywhere else to get my car worked on. Thank you Charlie!

Car Tech was recommended to me by a friend and she was absolutely correct when she described the great service, the immaculate service area, the generously fair pricing, and the honesty and forthrightness of Charlie the owner. My father was an auto mechanic with this same strong sense of great customer service and I wont be going anywhere else for my automotive needs.

At first I was pretty nervous, Charlie sounds a little intimidating over the phone for a 20 year old girl! Once I got there he was very genuine and wrote me a mini list of what needed to be fixed, even said I could have my dad call him in case he needed further explanation. I went to Car Tech as I was shopping around for the best price for replacing my front struts and strut mounts on my 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander. The price Charlie quoted me was so good, I was a little skeptical of how the price was so much cheaper than other local shops. This was mostly due to a previous bad experience with an unrelated small auto shop.However, Charlie quickly proved me wrong and went above and beyond my expectations. Charlie could tell I was worried about getting screwed over so, he took me back into his shop and showed me the brand name parts fresh out of the box and assured me that this was not that type of shop and at this shop I would be treated like family. Charlie and his team even finished the job sooner than expected.

I had been here twice with my Honda. The first time was with a Groupon but then he told me to cancel the Groupon and he would give it to me for the same price but then he wouldnt have to pay Groupon. It seemed a little shady to stiff the company that brought me there but he was adamant about it so I went along. That visit was 3 stars because I thought he lacked integrity but I came back because of the mechanic who worked on the car. He was great, very personable and got me in and out of their quickly so I went again.The next visit was 5 stars because the same mechanic was there and he got me in and out quickly and only charged the Groupon rate without a Groupon. The place is clean and it seemed like a place I would like to recommend.I sent my GFs son there with his Jetta for an oil change. VW oil changes cost more so there was no discount and then he mentioned that there was some work to be done the lower control arm and axles. I will give stars for this visit because I wasnt there and the son said everything was good and he felt he was treated well.This leads me to this review and we are sitting at a little above 4 for the rating.My gf wanted to take the car in and get those repairs done so we proceeded to do so and they were able to take us in quickly.When we were ready to pick up the car, the owner called me on our way to say he was waiting for us although it wasnt even his closing time yet but he wanted to go home. We were a mile away and I didnt like the idea of being rushed but oh well.When we arrived, he had his car outside waiting to go and this is where the 1 star review starts.At first, he gave us someone elses bill, on purpose, to shock us. It was $2800 and my gfs mouth dropped. He then said, I bet you will like this one better and handed her a $1900 bill. Nobody appreciates that sort of manipulation. He was trying to make the $1900 bill look not so bad when it was well above what we expected. Neither one of us appreciated him doing that. He tried to make it seem better by saying he didnt charge tax on the parts which we already know are not wholesale prices anyway so thanks?Second, when she handed him her AMEX he said, American Express? like he didnt accept them. She looked in her wallet but didnt want to use a different card. She asked if he accepted AMEX and he said that he did but that he wouldnt get paid for three weeks so if she could pay with something else he would prefer that. She said no and he reluctantly took the card.So, now that we have paid for it, I go to drive the Jetta home for her and notice that there is an empty box of business cards on the passenger side and that inside the glove box were all the business cards scattered around. I guess they dont care if they leave the car in worse condition that when they found it, not to mention the passenger sun visor was on the backseat. So now the sun visor is broke, theres a mess to clean but oh well, we wont come back.Then I start to drive the car. The service light comes on (something they should reset after an oilchange/tuneup) and the brake light comes on as well.Turns out the brake fluid was just below the minimum line. He charged us $1900 and then didnt reset the service nor check the fluids. We paid for a tuneup along with the other big ticket items and we expected the car to come back to us without brake light on.The manipulation with the billThe dumped box of business cards that they should have cleaned upThe sun visorThe brake light due to dangerously low fluidThe lack of resetting the service lightThese are the reasons for the one star rating

At first, he gave me a very reasonable quote on a substantial repair, but when he learned that the problem was not as bad as originally thought, he called me and told me that it would cost about half as much. Considering I was already going to pay the full amount and would have never known the difference, I was shocked. What a class act. There is no other place in Scottsdale I would recommend over Car Tech!

Oil change. groupon voucher fine print said syntgetic BLEND. I missed that. Paid extra for synthetic oil but got no credit for the included blend oil so I think I got screwed. would not go back.

5 Star Standup People! Had smoke under hood and whipped in to Car Tech on 90th St and San Victor. They found a rubber moulding that had fallen on the exhaust manifold - took it out and sent me on my way. No Charge! Granted it was only a 7 minute fix, but most wouldve charged me $20.00 at least Im sure. Thanks Again Guys.

Charlie and Car Tech was recommended to me and I only wish Id known about them sooner. I took my car here with an AC issue and within an hour I was told what was wrong and what it would cost to fix. The car was done that day and Charlie even took me and dropped me off at my office nearby. After collecting the car, I developed another problem which I assumed was the transmission that Id had rebuilt a year ago. Charlie told me to bring it back in. His guys looked at my car and had it fixed (the wiring harness) within a couple of hours, all at no charge. The person who recommended me said that Charlie loves what he does, he treats you like family and is honest with you about what you need or dont need. I could not be happier with the 2 services Ive had so far and I recommend Car Tech to everyone.

Called to make an appointment & then called the day of the appointment to verify.When I got there - the owner? - a bald dude- CLAIMED he had no record of the appointment.He also lied about the cost for a tire rotation.BEWARE!!!
