I came to Hector when I needed a transmission. I hoped it wasnt, but I knew it would be. Here is what he did above and beyond.He got me into an affordable rental. He was able to match the quote for a basic transmission rebuild, although my unit was an SS. He offered to fix the broken motor mounts and motor oil pan leak at no additional labor. He offered me financing and was very clear on how to avoid the financing charges.Overall, he very professionally helped me through a repair we all dread. Worst service ever!!I went in to see if he could tell me why my engine check light was on.When i went in he was on the phone. I waited over 10 min just to come to find out it was a personal phone call. He then asked me if i could bring it in tomorrow. I reluctantly said yes.I went over to AAA service center. They read my code and said it was solenoid switch in the transmission. They informed me they dont work on Transmissions.I dropped my car off the very next day at Aamco. when I came back he said it would cost me anywhere from 2100 to 3500. He said my transmission fluid smelt like it was burnt and that it was time because of the mileage it had on it.Come to find out it was a bad connection. I cleaned out the connection and replaced my transmission fluid. The light has not come back on. Runs like a champ!!

Since moving to Scottsdale in March I have had two major situations go wrong with my vehicle at the worst times too and both times Hector and everyone who works at this AAMCO came to my aid. As a customer I was treated with honesty and exceptional service, professionalism, and fair pricing. I drive an 2003 Chevy truck...over the last couple of years i have had to have my transmission rebuilt, clutch work (having trouble finding a piece that in now NOT manufactured, they somehow managed to make it do with what they had on hand...reminded me of something my uncles would have done) and most recently suspension work done. They do quality work and have superb customer service, that is why i am a repeat customer.I am thankful that Hector and his staff have always been nice, willing to service my vehicle, even when it runs into issues and go the extra mile.I appreciate that the business will provides tow service for my Beast and that they makes sure that if i need a ride and or car rental, Im accommodated.Hector is also helpful in working w you in setting up financing any repairs, if needed.

Absolutely horrible! Extremely unprofressional. I needed to fix my transmission so i was referred to them, and the first day i talked to Hector he told me hed call me the next day (Tuesday)to let me know what he needed to do. Never called so Wednesday morning i called to see what was going on, and they hadnt even looked at it and told me they would call me later that day to let me know. Never called. So Thursday morning i called to see if they had made any progress, nothing. Then, called Friday after not hearing anything, once again, to tell them not to do anything to my car and that i was just going to pick it up and take it somewhere else. Then and only then did they decide to actually look at it. Told me it would be ready on Tuesday because the parts would be there monday.....fast forward to Friday i had to call to see if they had made any progress and said they would have it ready friday afternoon. You guessed it, had to call them again, was put on hold for 10 mins!!! So, i just said forget it, and showed up there so they can tell me to my face why they were holding my car up. My car was actually already done, but no call to tell me. Worst experience ever. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

I needed a lot of work done on my car and Hector was awesome, originally. Everyone there was very helpful the first time I was there, but I had to go back within a week because not everything was fixed correctly. Hector refused to give me any prices anytime that I was there, always stating - Ill take care of you.. That does nothing to help me plan for what is coming, nor does it do anything to reduce the stress that I felt during this time. THEN, when I asked him why the second problem was not fixed the first time my car was there, he just shrugged his shoulders and said - Its a car.. Again, doing nothing to explain what happened nor did he do anything to help me. He also said Ill take care of you. when I had to rent a car - again - because they could not fix my car quickly. He did NOT take care of me. I paid the full rental price for the car and am still paying off the loans that I had to get, to get my car fixed. I have also had to take my car somewhere else to get things fixed that he did not fix. So, not only did he NOT take care of me, Im paying twice for things that he should have fixed on my car. If I could give a lower rating than one star, I would!

The service here was amazing. Im not from phoenix, i live five hours away and I came down for a visit when My 2005 GMC started to have major transmission issues. I found AAMCO online and decided to bring it in at about 9am and I needed the vehicle done the same day. hector the manager told us he was able to finished the service the same day . I picked up the vehicle at 5:30 and could not believe the results. I definitely recommend this place.

Great experience !!! I came in for an extreme vibration in my front end when driving on the freeway. Hector was quick and beyond friendly when it came to getting my car looked at as soon as possible. Within an hour I got a call from him explaining my motor mounts were bad; even though I had just had 2 of them replaced 6 months ago. He informed me that you should get all of them done at the same time or else situations like this will occur. He went above and beyond to contact the shop that performed the motor mount replacement the first time to get the mounts warrantied out so I didnt have to pay for them again. He installed the last one and had the other 2 from the other shop installed within 4 hours to get me my vehicle back in time for me to go out of town.Couldnt be happier with this experience and i will definitely be recommending him to friends and family. BE AWARE. PROTECT YOUR WALLET. Not worth the hassle. Should have went with my gut instinct as I walked in and said hello. Knew instantly that this was a waste of time. You go in for an vehicle inspection because, of your concern for the safety condition, you wait all day and have to call them to get them to remember to look at your vehicle, they tell you that theyre working on it (just as you call), they tell you its ready (just as you call again). Went in to discuss findings, explain that you are getting estimates from other locations with concern in finances and conflicting findings, Hector will try any sad sales technique to bully you in leaving your vehicle. He patronizes your intelligence and budget like they have some sort of status? I grew up in a very well established mom and pop auto body repair shop, the most respected shop in the region back east, and was taught to NEVER treat your customers in the manner that we were treated here. They wont give you an estimate outlining the repairs and costs because, its a free inspection and would have to pay for a print out. Thats a sales trap. Overly suggestive with condescending tone. Guilt tripped sales. Maybe he lives in a castle of $ but, when you get slapped with estimates of 5k on one vehicle, 1.5k on another (that arent even the worth of the vehicle) and then tries to bargain with you until you decide to leave your vehicles is poor, desperate, service. BE AWARE OF THIS SCHEME. They will definitely try to take advantage of you. Walk away and find someone that doesnt outwardly lie, tell you what you want to hear and negatively pressure you into using their service.

From the initial phone call to the time I picked up my vehicle I was amazed. I was taken care of by in my opinion one of the best mechanic shops in town. This was the absolute best car care experience that I have ever had and I have lived in North Carolina and Texas so I have had my fair share of car care experiences. My check engine light came on and I had been to about 3 different car shops who did nothing for me and i was panicking so I decided to call aamco the next morning and spoke with hector who told me to bring the car right over to have a free vehicle check. I went in and they did a very thorough check and told me what the problem was. Hector was able to get me in a rental car while the car was being repaired and took very good care of me from start to finish. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!! I will never go anywhere else.

Im a return customer. I had to get my transmission overhauled last summer and didnt have the money. Lucky for me they had financing that took care of $4000 job. Well, a year later Im back because of a sensor making my drive indicator flash - a transmission issue. Come to find out my motor mounts were broken torquing the entire engine. So I had both engine and transmission issues. I was 1000 miles over the warranty! Héctor was very kind and included the transmission work under the warranty! He was more than fair on the work that needed to be done on the engine. He explained the work by showing me what he needed to order on the computer and the cost along with the labor. Thats important, to make you feel at ease that someone is not overcharging you for something.After the work started, more surprises arose from the initial problem. My transmission mounts had cracked from all the torque. Héctor showed me the problem and only charged me for parts since the labor was already getting performed.Its not like Hector gave me any breaks right away. It was after talking with him and treating him like a human being and trying to understand what was going on with my truck that he became more generous and maybe a bit sympathetic to my situation. But with good reason, I was a returning customer that had spent thousands of dollars. Thank you Hector & Team for your professionalism, kindness, and swift work (1 day).

I took my Jeep in because the transmission pan was leaking. It turned out to be a crack in the case. They replaced the case and inspected the rest of it. It was fixed in about 5 days for about $2500. I work for Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Hector gave me his fleet labor rates which was nice. Overall a good experience but in the future I probably wont have a trans rebuilt I will just replace it.

Aamco had their towing company pick me up at half the price that other towing companies charge and I didnt have to wait until the next day to be picked up. I took my Mercedes there because I was getting a rough vibration everytime I started braking, Hector and team quickly (within 30 mins) diagnosed the problem as a sticky caliber piston. They ended up replacing the piston and swapping the brake pads out as well, and most importantly had it all done in 2 hours! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience with a shop I was so unfamiliar with, they definitely have a life long customer out of me now! Would recommend to anyone. Thank you Hector!

Aamco was absolutely amazing! They saved me $1,000 on repairs, I was told 3 weeks of work at another shop, Aamco handled in 4 days! AAMCO will take your money with a smile but when it comes time to honor their warranty, they want to charge for two hours of diagnostics - even if other reputable shops have run that (AAA shops). AAMCO will not honor their warranty or take responsibility for their work.

Total rip off. Charged me way more then it cost. Financed my repairs and said my payments were only for a year and extended it. Then changes finance companies where no one can answer my questions. Keeps sending me in circles. Car still broke down and now Im making payments for a car I dont even have.

Worse place ever. They will lie to you and take advantage of you by telling you, you need s new transmission when in fact you dont. They will do a bait & switch.... Avoid at all costs and dont agree to anything...

BUYER BEWARE!!! I dont normally write reviews, but it is needed to warn the public about this location. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE FOR REPAIR! Brian the manager will not tell you the truth about there $395 inspection and dissemble fee that is to be applied to the cost of repair. If you dont like the cost they give you, they sent you home with your transmission TOTALLY torn apart, holding your car hostage. And when my husband got angry, they called the POLICE! Horrible customer service, and lying about services they can perform ... please, do not trust this location!

From the moment I called to have my car looked at - Hector welcomed me in and started the review of my transmission immediately. I was referred to AAMCO by my other car repair busines, so I felt good with that, However Hector makes you feel very well taken care of and knows the pain of a transmission that needs repair. No little fix, and its a huge decision...I needed to hear the knowlege and honesty in him, and I did, he made me feel comforatable with the decision. And then low and behold they find more and more....yuk...but with confidence that I felt from him and his team I continued on, he made sure I had a car to drive, and continued to diligently work on my car. So as I go to pick it up..ding ding...still something not working right...my nerves were whacked out and I lost it...but I know in the big picture he and his team were digging deep to get to the bottom of the car issues. End result....I have my car and it is driving wonderful, the whole time Hector was polite, respectful of feelings..as I saw him in action on a busy Friday before the Holiday, when everyone wants to get out of there, he handled and multitasked many isuues and customers...Thank you to AAmco and Hector and his team...Im sure you will find the same confidence in this team!

NIGHTMARE ON BUTHERUS DRIVE...IF YOU DONT KNOW YOUVE BEEN FOOLED, ALL IS GOOD!TRANSMISSION REBUILD $5,377!FYI, THE WORD NEW IN FRONT OF TORQUE CONVERTER ON THE INVOICE IS A TYPO ACCORDING TO THE AAMCO MANAGER, HECTOR. ONE OF THE MANY SURPRISES EXPOSED OVER MONTHS OF QUESTIONING AND RESEARCHING EVERY ITEM ON THE INVOICE.JAGUAR XJ 40,000 MILES - ORIGINAL OWNERVehicle had shifting problems after transmission rebuild.AAMCO manager advised to drive vehicle for 100 miles.Shifting problems continued.Defective ABS module was blamed.Repaired at another shop.Shifting problems continued.Defective throttle body was blamed.Repaired at another shop.Shifting problems continued.Valve body replaced again by AAMCOShifting problems continued.Defective cooling system was blamed.Repaired sticking thermostat at dealership.Shifting problems continue.AFTER ALL OF THIS AND MORE, I WAS PRESENTED A GAG, YES GAG, AGREEMENT REGARDING NEGATIVE REVIEWS ON SOCIAL MEDIA. I REFUSED TO SIGN IT! THE AGREEMENT IS STATED BETWEEN THE VEHICLE CONCERNS. CLEVER!PHOTO OF INVOICE POSTED.Filed Attorney General Office complaints for loss of original low mileage valve body and torque converter. They were replaced with remanufactured parts without my knowledge. Once I was informed, it was too late to recover them for repair. My valve body needed a $50. updated pressure valve and reboring. AAMCO did not have the tool to repair it. Instead of contacting the brand authorized rebuilder, which charges $125. to rebore a valve body case, the manager purchased the remanufactured valve body and charged me $1,295.00!Fyi, I was not shown a detailed breakdown of parts and labor until after the transmission rebuild. But, I did receive an email from the AAMCO owner, Mike, to approve the charge of $5,377.88!Copy of email posted.NO TRUST, NO POINT!
