Super cute bakery, went for the Friday the 13th macaroons they were selling for today. A bit of a drive from me but well worth it. The macaroons are very flavourful and so well made. The employees were super friendly and there wasnt much of a wait. I would recommend this shop to my friends and family
This was my first time here and everything I bought was so gross. My macaroons tasted like pure sugar and and stale ( like it’s been sitting for days ) and my mini cake was hard as a rock and dry I couldn’t even hardly cut into it. It was that bad. I don’t understand why so many good reviews when there items is this horrible. I’ve been dying to go here forever and now I have a huge disappointment. The service was excellent but the whole reason I came was for there good looking treats.
Ordered my birthday cake here. Also before ordering came to try a sample, they had a samples for the owners birthday. They had samples for the champagne strawberries flavor. I ordered that for my birthday and i didn’t like it cause it was lots of frosting on the outside and inside is very cakey and kinda hard. I should have probably got chocolate flavor but didn’t think about it. It does look cute but the flavor I picked wasn’t my favorite. Also the gold dripping wasn’t my favorite, I thought it would be a different color drip that I sent a picture of but this is the 2nd cake I had with drip style and I think it just makes the cake to heavy/hard.Also I got a croissant sandwich. It was good but messy. Its super cute inside.Theres a pick up window too.Theres seats outside as well.
I had an incredible experience with Sweet Dees! I placed an order for my mother’s birthday, 1 dozen custom Mickey macaroons. They had a TON of flavors to choose from and I was able to get exactly what I hoped for! Danielle was so sweet and had a cute idea to bring a little bit more magic to my mom’s birthday. Our macarons were delicious and I’m already trying to think up my next excuse to place an order with them. Thank you so much!
As a dessert person, Im always looking for a great new treat. So,...I purchased 4 items to try out. 1) Brownie -absolutely delicious 2) Sugar cookie - great! 3) Slice of Pumpkin spice bread pudding - love! and 4) Cupcake/Jelly filled muffin called Crufin - so GOOD! Prices are a little on the high side, but I always say, you get what you pay for! Will definitely be stopping by again soon.
This bake shop is my “house of worship”! Not kidding, between the atmosphere and the ambiance this place feels like something from a fairytale. Not to mention that everything I’ve been drank or ate there is out of this world amazing. The staff is friendly and sweet, the foods are fresh and colorful. I love this beautiful gem of Scottsdale. Thank you for giving us this experience and sharing your lovely gift with the world ❤️😘💕🥰
Tried this place a few time’s.. drive pretty far to get in my sweet treat.. the prices are very high for vegan and honestly this last time I feel like I was judged on my tip .. I spent a roughly 80 bucks for my food, drinks and desserts, served out of window I’m not using your restaurant to eat in ..? I throw my trash away. It’s not a restaurant. It’s a bakery that serves to go!!
Everyone was really nice and it was cute inside, even let my dog in! There lemon and lime treats unfortunately, are too sweet. I wish there was a break in the flavors
Came here to pick something up for a friend and ending up trying some of the cheesecake out. Absolutely delicious! No matter how hard I try to resist, I know I will be back for more. 😂
Love this place. All of the desserts are so pretty & so delicious. And the place is always decorated so well & is such a cute instagram spot. They have also been wearing masks which is lovely during this pandemic. I would say it might be a good idea to get there a little early so they dont run out of the best goods. It is also a little more pricey of a bakery, but I think its totally worth it!
This is without a doubt one of the best bake shops in the valley of the sun! My sister purchased one of her reception wedding cakes from Danielle and it turned out magnificent!Usually cakes can either taste out-of-this-world or look out-of-this-world... but never both, in my experience. The materials needed for the fancy frosting usually tastes like cardboard, but Danielle somehow found a way to decorate her cakes to the extreme, all without sacrificing the exquisite taste. While being new to the scene, owner and master baker Danielle O’day continues to put out innovative and delicious food from her cozy, sheek little bake shop in old town. I’m excited to see what she has in store for us moving forward😋
This is an amazingly lovely bakery. Whether you are wanting a simple treat, a full cake or a full breakfast/lunch meal, SweetDee’s is able to provide all that! I will say that their bakery goods are what you should especially be focusing on. While their breakfast/lunch meals are of notable quality, they are a little basic. However, their bakery goods are anything but ordinary! For one, they have unique offerings on a daily basis, including vegan and gluten-free options. Personally, I had an apple pie macaroon, which was honestly one of the most indulgent and decadent baked goods I have ever had (best of all, it was large enough to be enjoyed, but condensed perfectly to limit guilt). My advice is to ensure that you do not come here on your cheat day. Yet, if you are able to resist any temptations, you ought to consider your self-control your utmost quality
I bought a magic hour ticket for the Disney event today and was completely underwhelmed by the whole experience. I got there at my allotted time and still had to wait in a 30 minute line outside. But the most disappointing part is by the time I got inside to pick out some of the items, they were already sold out of quite a few things. If youre going to sell a special ticket for an event at least make sure that you have enough items prepared for those who spent 20 dollars per person for a ticket. And if you cant keep up inventory, then cut down on the amount of tickets you sell for each time slot. If I wouldve waited 30 more minutes I couldve easily got in the front line for opening and had the exact same experience. This seemed like a money grab to capitalize on disney fans love for all things disney. And for 20 dollars a ticket, people should be guaranteed a little more than just a drink of their choice. Not left feeling that they wasted their money before they even walk through the door.As for the desserts, very creative and cute but you definitely pay for that. Each item is very expensive. Because of the price tag, my expectations were high. Unfortunately the taste did not live up to the hype. I bought cookies, a brownie, rice krispy treat, cake pops, macaroon and a mini cake. Everything was just okay. By far the worst part was the mini cake. Very very dry. The worst cake Ive ever had.The highlight of sweet dees for me was the Winnie the pooh drink. It was excellent. But unfortunately thats not enough for me to ever come back again.I dont know what this place is like normally and I can only judge their desserts so maybe this was an off day. But, If youre going to buy a special event ticket, make sure you buy a ticket for the opening time slot and be prepared to wait in line. Or better yet, just get there 30 minutes before opening.Final verdict, If youre going just for the cute photos for your Instagram feed you wont be disappointed. But if youre expecting the taste to match the cute designs and high price tag, you will probably regret spending your money.
Really cute bakery that seems to be a local favorite. I really appreciate that they offer gluten free items, but from my personal experience the items I tried werent good; the flavor was a bit off. It mightve been an off day for them, so I look forward to going back sometime in the future. Regardless of that, my husband enjoyed all of his normal gluten-filled items.
BERRIES AND CREAM BERRIES AND CREAM IM A LITTLE LAD WHO LOVES BERRIES AND CREAMMM
Super cute little shop! I’ve been here two time and I haven’t been disappointed. Sweets are yummy, drinks are good, and the Bacon Jam Panini was so delicious! Jenna helped me both times and she is just the sweetest! They serve different drinks and desserts quite often so it’s always exciting to see what they whip up next! Definitely worth a try if you are in the area or just want some cute cookies and tasty macaroons.
I went to the Star Wars day in May. I was served a drink causing anaphylactic shock after staff ensured that it did not contain the ingredient we were allergic to. I had to use emergency medication for this and I’m so grateful my child did not take a sip as he is allergic to the same ingredient. No answer for days from the owner about this experience where we wanted nothing but to ask that staff are mindful of cross contamination. Which she stated she “never thought of that” in reference to cross contamination. The owner, Lynda, never really apologized for the experience (nor did the person who initially responded to my email) and I’m sure it’s because they were nervous we would sue and swore she was sending us a gift certificate (that we did not ask for and was half of what we paid to be poisoned) and it never arrived. There was never any follow up made. Personally, if I caused anaphylactic shock in someone, I’d probably reach out in one of the various contact options I had. The worst part of it all is that they actually had a good vegan dessert.
I absolutely love love love this coffee shop, the drinks are always cute and delicious. Pastries are so good staff is so friendly and very kind, I highly recommend this place.
Shut the front door... Lavender creme coffee and lemon ricotta cheesecake?! Sweet Dees knows!
I absolutely love this place. We went for their Harry Potter eve t and even tho we waited 1.5hrs in the heat, the owner Linda let my mom who has medical conditions wait inside on a chair and gave her free bottled water and a chocolate crossiant
Had an amazing breakfast sandwich (substituted bacon with ham), still thinking about it. We also had the waffle and it was fantastic too. Plus, couple small deserts to complete the picture. Great experience. Highly recommend this place.
Not one to usually write reviews, the shop is cute and the products are cute but the service is awful. Would recommend avoiding any custom orders as they will not get back to you. There is no point in calling in orders ahead of time when you still have to wait in line even if youve already paid. It seems like too much time is spent on themed bakery items to drive media hype that the rest of the store suffers.
Oh my!!!! “Best cake I’ve ever had”, said my groom! Light and fluffy, the combination of flavors, the strawberry filling (FRESH, not gooey gel), vanilla frosting.... not to mention it was so incredibly beautiful. It was almost too gorgeous to cut into - but, so glad we did!!! Tasted heavenly! Taking the leftovers with us on honeymoon! Thank you so much for helping make our special day even more special.
Cheese. Haha line is hella long, better bring a towel for all that wait. But hands down worth the 3 hour linr wait.
If you’re going to have theme days freaking PLAN FOR THEM. I come here a little after 11.... by the time it’s 1130 and I finally get inside. There’s no macarons left..... absolutely zero baby yoda treats left despite all their advertisements. LITERALLY WASTED A HALF HOUR OF MY LIFE. extremely slow with drinks in the past on a normal day. Sure it’s a small business but you’ve been around long enough to KNOW people will come here. Hire more employees. Bake more food. Figure it out. Don’t lead customers on.
Simply incredible! Visited twice, was impressed both times. Excellent coffee, try the Cardamon Orange Latte its is lightly sweetened and subtlety flavored. Do not miss the Avocado Toast, a feast for the eyes and the tastebuds. Beautifully balanced with a light vinegarette on the microgreens, radish salsa, thyme infused cottled egg, and an edible orchid. So beautiful you almost dont want to eat it! Start your day with art for your mouth.
I dont usually talk bad about places but after so many attempts I just dont see the hype about this shop! Ive given this place LOTS of chances and each time I get disappointed and regret it. :/ Its in a convenient spot and its super cute and instagramable but the food and coffee are not it. Im not sure if they just dont know how to make coffee properly or just order low quality ingredients? Either way my thoughts on this place are set!
Its very cute but they have a pick up window but you are not allowed to use it. You have to stand in a long line inside. What is the point of calling in and paying ahead of time if you cant pick it up and still have to wait?
If you are looking to order a mini cake similar to those they have on display do not order in advance as it will not reflect what their mini cakes on display look like. We were to pick up an order placed a week in advance at 8:30am the day of p/up they asked if we could p/up an hour later as they had an issue with the batter. Red Flag! My ultimate reasoning for writing this review is the owners rude attitude and lack of interest. Instead of listening and attempting to empathize with the situation she deflected and blamed everything on us, when we told her we should have just picked up a cake from their display instead of ordering in advance she simply said why didnt you do that? Never have I experienced such lack of customer service especially coming from an owner! Good thing there are plenty of other options in the valley that offer better tasting desserts and friendlier owners. I would like to add the staff there are very friendly, the owner should take a few tips from them as she could learn a thing or two.
This bakery is such a cute hidden gem! I love coming in to try their seasonal coffee drinks, macaroons, and avocado toast. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Awesome local spot to visit if youve got a sweet tooth!
I bought their wonderful treats at the Day of Mischief event. Absolutely the cutest Sorting hat cookies, Snitches and Chocolate Frogs! The chocolate frogs were the best. The chocolate shell was wonderfully crisp and the chocolate ganache filling was superb. Wish I didnt live so far from this bake shop, or Id be frequenting it often!
I would suggest that since your hours say open until 3 you not start your closing at 230. Having windex sprayed over the glass while ordering $14 for 2 drinks is not cool. Very off putting.I felt very rushed and as if I should not have come in so although very hungry I did not feel as if ordering food would be acceptable. The drinks tasted wonderful although the tatooie sunset did not look like the others I saw. Just btiwn and yellow :(- in a rush? Or out of the other ingredients?
Excellent experience from the friendly employees to the Paris cafe atmosphere! This is just the tiniest lil bit of deliciousness in Scottsdale! Not only do these treats look beautiful they taste amazing. Best girly birthday cake and yummy birthday cake drink helped make my special day even better! Thanks yall!
Amazing bakery! Was in a bind and needed a cake fast and Sweet Dee’s was so accommodating. They made me such a beautiful cake and it was delicious. I love them, will definitely be back!
This cute little bakery/cafe just opened up and is already bustling. Their bakery selection is diverse and keeps all sorts dietary concerns in mind. With their large array of light flavors, stopping in for a quick bite didn’t leave me heavy only satisfied. But for those wanting a bit more, they do offer larger food options for those with an appetite. The atmosphere is more Parisian and while I usually like my coffee shops warm and cozy this place is nothing but welcoming. This place’s only slight in my mind is the lack of seating but it’s not enough to lose a star over.If you’re nearby I highly recommend giving this place a try.
We unfortunately didn’t come for the sweets. We were staying in a hotel nearby and needed some quick breakfast and coffee. We saw this place and got the breakfast sandwich and A chocolate croissant. The breakfast sandwich was totally not worth it. It came with a sad amount of eggs, avocado and weird goat cheese and a dry croissant. Total rip off for the price. Only good thing was the chocolate croissant. So come here for dessert and not breakfast.
Great customer service and really good baked goods. Staff was super friendly!!!
Great place for a bite to eat or grab a caffeinated beverage. I love when they release their seasonal specials like the peppermint mocha or eggnog macaroon. The only downside was that our cupcake was slightly smashed upon being taken back home due to the container.
Wow, I had their birthday canolli and it was amazing.
What a find! We stopped for desserts and ended up grabbing lunch too. Slightly high prices but for quality food so we felt it was worth it. Great lemonade, tea and macarons!
Cute place with some unique items. Very glittery and love the edible flowers on some of the items. Avocado toast was presented beautifully and tast was good. Cappuccino was ok.
Okay what’s the hype about? I ordered a specialty cake (funfetti with pink frosting) and it was absolutely gross. The cake itself was heavy and tasted underdone, the frosting was inedible completely! Sweet, yet hardly any flavor! I was very displeased to have paid $38 for this cake and to have traveled over half an hour just to receive a mediocre cake that would have tasted 100% better homemade.
Their pastries are fantastic and I always wind up bring something home. Their coffees and other beverages great as well. Personnel is friendly and helpful. A real cute place also serves a small breakfast menu...not sure about lunch since I only have the cappuccinos and oh, such great pastry. Stop in and try their cinnamon rolls and their out-of-this world brownie..forget the name...but too much to eat at one time. Their is also some seating outside....sometimes I feel like being at an outside cafe in Paris.
Really cute bakery shop and creative sweets and drinks. I tried it for the first time to pick up Valentine’s Day treats - I visited to buy the Kim K inspired chocolate heart that comes with a mallet. Cute idea but super overpriced at $30 each for its small size and the cheap chocolate and candy that included 3 pieces of Hershey’s kisses and the 3 candy hearts. You can buy the mallet online for $2 and full bags of kisses and candy hearts for $3 each. Also, I ordered the Love Potion drink and they didn’t have the rock candy anymore that they used as a garnish - that’s fine but don’t charge me for the regular full price if you aren’t even including all the ingredients that accounted for that original price. I love supporting local businesses but felt robbed that day.
Great staff the Harry Potter themed day was so cute and the sugar cookies were delicious.
I am obsessed. I havent found a place quite like it in the East Valley and anytime Im in Scottsdale I make it a mission to stop in. The lavender latte is insanely delicious and I try not to think about it too often because ill start to crave it! Its such a stellar drink, the lavender is refreshing and delightful, not too overpowering. The cupcakes and pastries tend to be more seasonal and with so much variety there will always be something to try.
The avocado smoothie is divine, and the staff are friendly . Great spot!!
A little pricey but some of the best donuts youll ever eat! Kinda different, and very tasty!
It was a great time. I was glad that everything was as delicious and fresh as I have been anticipating. Had some people hype me up on this spot and we finally took a trip out after staring at their Instagram for a couple weeks LOL...I recommend the caramel apple creme doughnut but everything we tried was great.
The Harry Potter concept is amazing, especially with universal studios and such closed. The butterbeer was great. I’m not sure why it’s not letting me add photos, but I ordered a package online. After waiting nearly 30 min for pickup (15 min in the hot sun)..I was a bit underwhelmed. The photo online made it look like I was getting more than I did. I got the tiniest package of the fudge and popcorn. Where on the photo it looked like I’d get more than 5 measley fudge pieces!! It also made it seem like I’d get wizard cards with the chocolate frogs.. no wizard cards! The treats I’ve tried so far all taste good, and I don’t mind paying a decent amount, but I’d like a decent serving size.
If you love sweets youll love sweet Dees. You can count on her unique and whimsical macaroons and donuts plus pies, cookies, cakes, cake pops, bars and sometimes cheesecake. Treats run $3-6 each which is well worth it. I work down the street so Ive become a regular and have never been disappointed. She has smoothies and coffee creations too. Treat yourself and stop by or treat a friend. She boxes all treats nicely so it feels like you gifted yourself.
Great place for coffee and some delicious bakery items on the menu!
Wide selection, awesome staff, great taste. Gluten/dairy free options. Highly recommend.
Fresh, homemade, yummy.
Terrible, terrible, terrible experience with customer service. I wasnt even able to finish my order because I couldnt get them to follow up. I wouldnt waste your time going here because you will end up chasing the owner to try to get your order finished and they wont follow-up either. I ended up going to another bakery and was treated respectfully!
Coffee is excellent. Had the croissant, excellent. I recommend it.
This my new favorite place in Old Town. I have visited Sweet Dees several times and it has not disappointed. I HIGHLY recommend you try this place out. My favorite is still the Naughty Milkshake. I will go back again and again. What an awesome addition to the Old Town community. Cheers to your success.
Everything was delicious and everyone is so nice as well!!! I love the Disney theme!
Came for the baby yoda cookies, stayed for the breakfast sandwiches!
The chocolate croissant is so good! 5 stars!
Always above and beyond. The baked goods are incredible, everything is fresh and tastes great. I HIGHLY recommend the breakfast sandwich, it takes a lot of willpower to not stop by and get one every morning. They even offer room service to the residents of Camden Old Town.
Went by two days early to try to order 3 mini cakes or 1 small cake and they said they’re just too busy .... Such beautiful photos on the website and Instagram... Site says give 2 days, maybe change it. I am GM to a hotel here in Old Town and I was very excited about possibly using them for several things from gifts for guests to employee surprises. I won’t be back, too many to choose from for one to flat out give you a NO. Best wishes!
It was good. A couple Macron really did have any flavor, but a couple were very good.
Was great breakfast food. Not big on sweets honestly, but Id go back
I LOVE Sweet Dees Bakery! Best kept secret for coffee/espresso, yummy treats, and especially for breakfast & lunch-- which youll expect to have paid much more for afterwards. Amazing down to the small details. Great place to bring others to impress!
Went in for an iced coffee but then saw brown butter chocolate chip cookies i had to get one, so delicious 😫 i even got a second one. worth it. also the people working there were super chill.
The best cinnamon roll that ever had, and Ive tried a lot of cinnamon rolls in my life
Stopped in for a quick treat and ended up staying for an hour because it was too beautiful to leave. The coffee is strong and refreshing the pastries are sweet and beautiful. Sweet dee her self was there making my latte and was the sweetest (lives up to her name).
It might look like your average neighborhood bakery, but sweetDees bakeshop is anything but! I wandered into the bakeshop with my boss, and immediately greeted by the friendly staff and incredible aroma of baked goods. I order the avocado toast and a Lavender latte. AMAZING! Today, Im going back for a tumeric chai tea. Once your inside dont forget to look up at the ceiling. Charming hidden jewel ... Highly recommended
Great bakery. We had the Eggs Benedict Donut and it was amazing!Im going back.
Breakfast was expertly done. cappuccino was amazingly well balanced. This is an experience spot
The coffee here is exceptional! Possibly the best I’ve ever had.The sweets are good.
The cutest chic pastry shop just a corner away from all the action... Great pastries...neighborhood cafe feel~
My friend and I decided to give this place a try when I learned of their Harry Potter event. After reading the great reviews, we braved the hot humid weather and waited the 1 1/2 hours to get into the bakery/cafe. Unfortunately this experience left a bad taste in our mouths literally. She ordered a croissant donut where the icing completely fell off after biting into it. A golden snitch cake pop with no flavor. Finally a Sorting Hat macaroon that had a one dimensional flavor of plain buttercream. I’m ashamed to admit that for nearly $50 I ended up throwing away most of the goodies I purchased. There was the wonderful bitter taste of burnt toffee inside the shape of Dragon Egg. A chocolate frog where an actual frog covered in chocolate may have tasted better than the chemical caramel inside. Finally ending with both my boyfriends and mine stomach on an ache path. The only thing preventing me from giving a 1 star was a beautiful little jar of Dumbledore lemon drop candies and a semi decent butterscotch cupcake.
Friend and I wanted to go somewhere different. Came here for lunch and it was amazing! Had the turkey club and took home some desserts for the whole family. You have to try the blueberry pancake muffin. ;)
Absolutely perfect chocolate croissants. And regular croissants. Also something beyond perfect called a cruffin (I had the apple pie cruffin... baked apples in croissant dough shaped like a muffin) which was delicious. I’m sure anything you try here you will like!
