First time using Genesee Energy for our propane fill-up (south of Olympia) on August 9th 2021. They were 45 cents cheaper per gallon than the others so saved $160 (350 gals, two tanks). Courteous and professional when I called for a price quote. She inquired if I was a senior or military for an additional 7 cent discount. Delivery and billing all handled very promptly and professionally.

Have dealt with Genesee Fuel for decades. They always give me the best quotes, quick and professional service. You can be confidant their bid is their lowest possible bid. You can also be assured their workmanship is of the highest quality.

I used Genesee Energy for propane delivery. After shopping around, I found them to have the best price on propane consistently and they were always quickly able to get a delivery to me when I needed it. Even when there was snow on the ground. I ended up having to close my account because I moved and no longer needed propane...but I would highly recommend Genesee.

Our oil furnace reset button was tripping so we called Genesee Oil to have a technician come take a look. The woman I spoke to on the phone was courteous and professional. She got a tech out to us in less than 12 hours.John was our service tech. He was on time, professional and very informative. This guy knows his stuff and doesnt lose you in furnace jargon. He explained why the system had an issue and let me know what was needed to fix it. He also didnt try to oversell me. John repaired what was needed and tuned the furnace up. We have been purchasing propane through Genesee Energy for the last 1.5 years, and every time they are great. We are not scheduled for repeat deliveries, and instead call around for the best price. Genesse always has the lowest price, and despite not refilling every set number of months, they checked the integrity of our propane system and ensured we had no leaks.They are quick to answer and return phone calls, show up soon after we request a refill, the delivery person is pleasant and professional. This business supplies our propane gas to heat our home, water, and provide fuel for our cooktop. Propane is expensive and to get it in bulk, you need to contract with a supplier to bring it to you in a truck with a pressurized tank on the back. We were contracted with a different supplier for over 20 years and they arbitrarily increased our per gallon price by over $1.40! I shopped around and found Genesee Energy. Their price for propane was much less than the place we had been using and their records showed their price had not increased for more than a year. We changed our supplier to Genesee and we have not been happier! Theyre great! Easy to work with, a pleasure on the phone and in person, a very professional business indeed! I highly recommend Genesee for your propane needs!

While I have been a loyal customer since I bought my home in 2015 I decided to go with another servicing company. I needed my oil heater serviced and I explained my work schedule allowed me to be off by 3pm. I asked for service to be after or around this time. They were not able to accommodate a working mother. Thankfully I was able to find a new oil service that was able and willing to put customer service as their #1 priority. I won’t have to miss work to get my heater tuned up and running efficiently and safely.

This is our heating oil company and will be as long as Im here. Genesee is a Seattle institution and theyve been around all these years because they do things right and they treat you right.

My son and daughter had a problem with their propane tank and level over the Thanksgiving weekend. Genesee Energy came and supplied them with fuel on Sunday evening at 9:00 pm.The customer service that I received from the office and from the driver were 5 stars. Thank you again for the help.

We have a service contract with them. Our furnace is 3 yrs old and was not installed by them. It was off the one yr warranty of the installing company. We have had numerous leak problems resulting in oil which has gone under the bulkhead and makes heated air from our ducts very smelly. None of that is due to Genesee.They have been out several times to help us solve the problems. When I call, they are here either the same day or the next day. Their technicians are top notch. This furnace is the typical Monday morning lemon.I recommend them to anybody considering a new furnace or a service contract. They have a genuine customer service ethic which shows in their actions. I give them an A.

If I could give a zero I would. They could not offer me a time frame of when they could fill my tank up. My concern is with the 4 dogs I have and them being in the yard. The lady who answered the phone was friendly but not very informed so I was transferred to the Office Manager, before I was able to talk he said they dont offer windows they will get there when they get there and to chain my dogs up. After I expressed how cruel that would be to leave a dog chained up for 12 hours he recommended that I shoot them.I wouldnt waste your time with these people.

When my gas furnace would not light I called Genesee. They came for service in very short order. The technician determined the trouble very quickly and followed up with some tests to do additional verification. Since I am a technician of sorts I was allowed to make the easy repair myself and only paid the service call. This was the second time Genesee has been here to work on my furnace. The first time I called for an inspection of the furnace system and received excellent service and a very thorough inspection. The technician made some minor adjustments and the furnace has been running much better than when first installed.

We started with Genessee in 2016, when we bought our home. (continued using the same service as prior home owner) Right off the bat, we didnt really like how they handled billing - they would send us notices that we were behind when we had signed up for the automatic service. (Our card was on file) Annoying, but they figured it out.THEN, they started to miss delivery of oil without notifying us so we only found out when it was freezing in the house. First time was in Dec 2018, and just 4 months later, they forgot again. We ended service after the second lapse.

Dont even think about doing business with this company. Unprofessional and the worst customer service. Had a contract with them that I terminated when they wanted to charge me $600 + Tax to change a burner hard that cost between $6 and $24 and change the filter (another $10 ?)

Jeff was fast to fix our furnace and did not try to charge us more than needed. He was courteous and took the time to explain the problem.

Technician was respectable of home. Explained services performed and functionality of furnace. Described options for additional products without any pressure to purchase. Very satisfied.

Excellent customer service and very flexible payment plans.Im new to using propane after a new home purchase, not only did Genesee help size the tank I needed, but came out to fill my tank in less than a week.The story doesnt end there, I called yesterday afternoon because I could smell what I thought was leaking proprane and they had a tech visiting my home in Ravensdale less than 2 hours later. It turned out to I did not have a leak and it was a service truck that was idling on the street near my home which was not burning all its natural gas fuel, but the customer service was fantastic.I am a very happy customer and highly recommend Genesee Fuel & Heating.

Genesee contracted to replace my aging but still functional furnace and arrived the morning of 12/8/2014 to do the work.I never received the expected phone call to say the work was done and found the technician packing up after 6pm. He let me know that they had installed the wrong furnace and that he would be replacing it in the morning. A few minutes later the salesman called to say that I would have to go to the back of the line for service and that they wouldnt replace it for three more days. On 12/11, the technician returned and replaced the furnace. I arrived home 30 after he left to find a cold house. The new furnace does not produce heat. I called the next morning and, you guessed it, back to the end of the line. We can send someone out between 12-4pm. I rushed home at noon to try to work in my cold study until the technician arrived at 4:45. He was unable to produce heat and, because he was late, unable to get any parts. He also offered no remedy for the weekend. How hard could it be for this company to do the right thing and send someone out on the weekend with a new and functional furnace?? Still waiting, now six days after removal of my functioning furnace.

Initially they wanted to charge me $600+tax, to change the oil furnace burner head cone, small part that you can buy from $7 to $24. The rest was labor(?) and tune up (they just changed a $5 oil filter). Finally after arguing they came down to $463. Dont even think about calling them for service. I finished the oil delivery contract with them after this awful experience.

Never missed a fueling, Never had any kind of issue with coming out on an emergency call if we ran out before our scheduled time, fast, friendly, and punctual.

They had an average price and a good product, but the customer service was terrible. They tried to leave my house without testing the $10,000 heat pump they installed. When i demaned a walk through of the system, they found 3 things broken and could not demonstrate that the system was working correctly. They have a quality issue. If they come to your house, make sure you double check everything they do.

Despicable service. Careful with these people they are both unorganized and deceptive. Will charge you for more than what they actually give you. They know there are so few oil companies (for oil heat) left that they dont make any effort to be a good business

In four months, Genesee has charged us $1927.23 to heat our 1000 square foot home. $481.81 a month on average. We suspect that one of the oil tank fills, in which they billed us $715.78, was not even completed and is a mistake on their part. Genesee has been completely dismissive of us, and our landlord has spoken to them with no progress made as to how we could have possibly consumed this much oil in such a short time. Our landlord has a vested interest in working this out, as we cant afford to live in this house another year if the winter heating bill is close to $500 a month. Either our oil furnace is EXTREMELY inefficient, or Genesee is overcharging us (or worse).To elaborate, when we moved into our home in October 2016, we signed up for automatic oil delivery through Genesee. The former occupants said their oil costs were about $1200 annually, or $600 every six months. They topped the tank at the start of our contract, which was about $400 for 130 gallons of oil. We thought with a full tank wed be set through the winter. They came back the first week of December and filled the tank again, about $210 for 69 gallons of oil. We were annoyed, as it was our understanding they came only if the tank was at risk of being empty and we werent interested in racking up a balance if there was oil in the tank, but moved forward. The week of Christmas we were out of heat for 24 hours. A contractor quickly came to service the furnace, and took an oil reading at that time. Genesee has not provided us this oil reading, which would objectively tell us whether or not the oil tank was low.On December 29, Genesee billed us for $715.78. We have a temporary above ground oil tank, and when we saw the bill (it was done when we were not home), we immediately called because we could see that tank was at least 3/4 full before they filled it. However, they claimed to have pumped 212 gallons into the tank. The receptionist was helpful and put me right through to someone, who was very much dismissive and unhelpful. We are unable to obtain the service notes from the week before, that would show the oil reading, because the service contract is under our landlords name. For reasons unknown, our landlord hasnt been able to obtain it either. They maintain they put 212 gallons into the tank with no objective data other than their bill.Crippled at the thought of owing $1300 in oil after only 3 months in our home, my husband put out a sign on the tank to not fill. We conserved energy as much as possible, got space heaters, and never put the thermostat above 70. Again, this is a 1000 sq ft house. We closed our driveway gate to further discourage filling the tank.Today, despite these deterrents, we were just billed another $528 for oil. Although this time we can see that the tank was in fact topped off, we cant believe that someone let themselves in through the back despite our car, a gate, and a sign blocking their way. They even left the gate wide open.We are going to be exploring other options at this point, although we feel our hands are tied with a balance on our account and another $500 owed after today. Once this is resolved, we will be finding another provider, as Genesee has lost all of our trust, and trust is important when it comes to utilities and hiring someone to come onto your property when you arent there.

I came home to no heat no oil called my oil co sound oil said I have no oil no heat help. understand its 30 outside and 30 inside, after being a customer for 4 years Im told not today but maybe tomorrow but for sure the next day. REALLY? so I call Genesee and less than 2 hours HEAT thank you genesee Im a customer for life bye bye sound

WORST possible company and experience I could think of what type of people must run a company this bad with that allow such awful service, both slow and not even respectful to the cold winters. Would not wish these company on my worst enemies.

I don’t recommend this company I called on Monday and was told that they was coming on Wednesday so I took the day off to find out nobody’s coming when I was promised that they was coming out till Thursday or Friday the lady was very rude and called to be a manger if you guys want good service I don’t recommend this place I would look for a different company like sound oil
