Nick, Jason and the crew did a great job working with me to figure out the issue I was having with my Jeep and it came out to be regular wear and tear. Instead of charging me for services I didnt need they were very honest and didnt charge me a thing. Highly Recommend.

Nick and his team are absolutely top shelf in how they interact with and treat the customer. We brought our 2013 Acura RDX to AAMCO after visiting and speaking with other auto repair shops and the dealer about what could be causing the engine to hesitate shifting when the RPMs reached the 1500 to 2000 range. The other garages and the dealer all wanted to just put in a new transmission. Not even bother with diagnosing whatever could be happening. One of the garages we went to highly suggested visiting Nick at AAMCO, to take a look. We did and the experience was excellent! Nick took the car for a ride with me and he recreated the issue easily and knew exactly what it was. There were several possible fixes. He explained the problem in plain English and it has to do with the torque converter and the tuning of transmissions from 2011 on. Theres another whole component to the conversation that would be best stated on another forum. Anyway, he explained the issue and gave us a measured plan to fix. The hesitation was fixed with an $8 tube of transmission fluid additive. The car has been driven a few hundred miles since and no hesitation at the RPM rate stated above. Nick and his team have earned my loyalty and business going forward. Extremely knowledgeable, personable, honest, and straightforward. I highly recommend AAMCO in South Burlington.

They took good care of me, they didn’t give me the run around or try and sell me anything that wasn’t needed in order to diagnose my transmission. They were up front and honest from the start.

Great service - I was seeking a second opinion on some engine and catalytic converters issues and they got me in right away and walked through all of my options with me after thoroughly inspecting the car.

Nick kept me in the loop throughout the entire diagnostic process with potential costs and all of the options at hand re: transmission issues for my Jeep. Originally he thought it would be a transmission rebuild ($$$$), but after breaking it down he called me with great news that it was the clutch, with that repair saving me a ton of money. Full repair was very timely and it feels like I am driving a new car. Refreshing to come across a good, honest, shop like this one. Could not recommend them enough!

On vacation in for a week in Vermont. The brakes on our car started squeaking the day before we were to go back the next day. Took the car to one shop, it would take a whole day just to get a diagnosis. Called AAMCO and they got us in within minutes, Maybe two hours later our car was good to go. Love this place! Nick and the guys are super friendly and personable. They looked at my 2015 Subaru of which I thought had an exhaust leak and then proceeded to call me telling me that I had to take it into the Subaru dealership. They did not charge me for looking at it! They put a lot of effort into looking at what my options were, and didn’t charge me a penny for it. They didn’t fix the exhaust themselves, which would have cost me $1200 dollars- instead they looked into the problem and saw the part was on recall at the dealership. They are just amazing, definitely take your car to them!

Excellent service both in the shop and towards the customer. They took great care of me and were exceptionally fair. Despite my issue being headache inducing they still got the job done effectively and did a professional job. Nick is a great guy to do business with and will treat you with a customer-first attitude. I took car in for transmission problems. They went above and beyond. After identifying the problem they call Subaru and and found that the transmission was under warrantee and suggested I take it there.Good and honest people!

Went here because I heard a noise coming from my wheels. I called and they took my car in right away. I was met with polite and respectful workers that walked me through the inspection and soon enough they figured out the issue. .

After one visit to AAMCO in South Burlington, Im asking myself why Ive sunk so much money into maintenance of vehicle through the dealership! In ten minutes, Nick performed a simple fix and saved me over $10,0000 that the dealership estimated to replace my entire transmission! I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee which needed a new torque converter. I dropped my Jeep off before my three week vacation and picked it up when I landed.Nick is extremely easy to deal with. I’ve used his services three times now and completely trust him. He did the work and I like the way the Jeep runs now. I also noticed that my averagemileage is up. So I guess a good torque converter is important.I would highly recommend Nick and AAMCO👍🏻😊

My 2011 Chevy express van had a blown transmission. Nick was very knowledgeable about the issue and was open and willing to explain the issues with the transmission and gave me a detailed explanation of what needed to be done to rebuild it. A few weeks ago my 2006 car stopped moving with some horrible metal grinding noises. I was sure that the transmission was gone and not looking forward to a huge repair bill. I had towed to AAMCO based on a recommendation.I was shocked, I got a quick diagnosis of a failed CV joint : much cheaper and easier repair. It was done quickly.Honest, knowledgeable and positive I cant thank them enough.

I brought a vehicle I purchased at an auction to them and they could have told me a lot of work needed to be done but they were honest and told me to spend money on another vehicle. Would be happy to go back to them!!

Its nice to finally find a mechanic you can trust. I dont remember exactly how we ended up calling Aamco, but Im so glad we did. Nick and his crew are honest, experienced, and good-natured. I genuinely cant think of a better combination. We had originally taken my car to my Honeys regular mechanic for an estimate, and I think maybe there was something they couldnt do which is why they suggest we go to Aamco. Well, what a good move that was!! Not only did they end up finding something that the first shop didnt, and they pointed it out to me so I could see it with my own eyes, but they then came up with a less expensive fix for the original problem, and the whole thing ended up being less in the first place had quoted us for one procedure less. I can only say good things about these guys and I cant recommend them highly enough.

Trustworthy, honest, straight talking, knowledgeable, will not charge for diagnosis alone. Best possible mechanic experience, I cant recommend Aamco highly enough.I brought my 2014 Ford Focus to them after having transmission issues for the lifetime of the car (bought used 4 years ago, now at about 115,000 miles). The Ford dealership repeatedly pushed for expensive repairs, for what Ive since learned last 10-15,000 miles before something else will break down. Ford is handling the issue poorly, and this car just isnt worth new parts.I joined the class action lawsuit against Ford last year and have decided to save on repairs to get a different car; the owner agreed that this was the best action. Because Aamco only charges for work done on the car, not diagnosis, they refused payment for this invaluable information.Im extremely happy with my experience with them, and highly recommend their work.

Nick and his staff took our vital delivery vehicle in on a Thursday and we had it back the following Monday afternoon, ahead of schedule!The estimate to rebuild the transmission in our 2012 GMC Savannah was accurate and lower than others. It is back there now, for a look at something related, and they will have it back to us without losing one day of use.

My van was not shifting while accelerating. I was sure it was low transmission fluid however my van has a closed system and I did not have the tool to check it. Nick and his team checked it, saw it was low, filled it up after finding a leak. They explained where the leak was and after talking a bit, Nick explained where to buy the part I needed and that with access to a mechanic shop that I could do it myself. Diagnoses was free and he didnt charge me for the fluid. He will always be my first stop for transmissions. He was professional, treated me with respect and did not discount my knowledge of vehicles based on my gender.

Thank God for these guys! I was so relieved to have them taking care of a major issue with my car. I previously had my GMC at the dealer and they were very negative about what was going on with my car and more focused on trying to get me to buy a new car than help me out. I called Nick and he was so positive about taking care of the issues and took the time to explain what the problems were to be corrected. He repaired the car for 1/2 of what the dealer was quoting me. It highly suggest utilizing this great team!

Im literally writing this on the ferry back to New York but my goodness am I grateful to Nick and his staff. I came in extremely upset after being unable to find a reliable transmission shop in Plattsburgh. I chose to come to Vermont because Nick actually gave me prices over the phone which I truly appreciated. His tech helped me figure out my transmission was perfectly fine and it was really my exhaust. Nick then replaced a part on my exhaust for free. Seriously thank you so much for the awesome conversation, the m & ms, and for fixing my exhaust for free. Overall, the staff is very knowledgeable, personable, and the customer service is top notch. I walked out of there smiling and feeling great. Im forever a loyal customer.

I want to thank Nick the owner of Aamco in So. Burlington and technician Kevin for working on my van. They went above and beyond to fix my transmission. I took the van to Gross Dodge for a transmission diagnosis. They gave me the run around and just wanted my money. They wanted to charge $1800 to $3600 for the repair. As they were not sure what the problem was. So I went to the guys at Aamco, they are professional, friendly and fair. They charged $460 to fix the problem. GlennTook my deville 04 in to have Nick test it for what I thought was a bad transmission noise. After he drove it he recommended I replace the left wheel bearing. After a new bearing install, problem fixed and all the lights are off. Great people the work with.

20180420- AAMCO replaced my REAR BEARING on my 2006 Chevy Suburban 4WD. Previously ~2012, they replaced the transmission on the same vehicle. In both cases, the work was done well.New 4wd Suburbans are EXPENSIVE and its nice to have fairly priced, quality service.
