I like harbor freight although the portland maine location is a joke ive been going there once a month when I have to go to drs. In town and have tried to purchase a manual tire changing mechine with the motorcycle tire attachment and they have the mechine in stock and the attachment on display they have tons of purchase tags for both but since the beginning they havent had the attachment in stock and refuse to stock it or have one brought in from warehouse and give me attitude when I inquire about it .....ill travel to the next location than go back to that store they give all the rest of the stores a bad rap.....

I like the idea of getting tools for a cheaper costs. I also like the ease of availability of when I need a tool, I can find it on their website and go pick it up. One star deduction for how many times Ive had to go back and replace or repurchase faulty or broken items.

When you dont want to pay for a tool that will out live you. Remember to bring the flyer.

Ive been to a different Harbor Freight before but this one was really nice. I spent a lot of time looking around at the tools. Ended up getting a nice belt sander to make my shop little more fancy I suppose. I found everything I was looking for and some things I wasnt looking for all right very good prices. I realize the quality isnt top of the line but I Im okay with that. I like the layout of the store and the variety of tools. I felt like a little kid at Toys R Us.

Great place to buy tools,,only if they actually have them in stock,,went to buy a wood chipper and they said,,none in stock, asked when they would be getting a new inventory in,,was told couldnt tell you that,, I called this morning and asked if they know when the chippers would be back in stock,,I was told that the truck didnt show up form yesterday to today and theyre not sure when the truck will be in,,I spend a lot of money in this store and like the deals they have,,but as far as the service and the way people are treated,,I think I would be better off spending the extra hundred bucks and just go across the street to home depot,,

I went in there to pick up a gift card, after waiting in line for a bit I was informed that they ran out of them.How do you run of gift cards two day before Christmas?So I went to another store and bought an Amazon gift card instead (plenty of those in stock) and this is one of the reasons Amazon is winning.Gift cards arent perishable, theres no real excuse for running out other than poor management...They got two stars because the clerk was empathic and it really wasnt her fault, otherwise they get a big ole one...

Can get good quality tools (most with manufacturer warranty). Personally tend to get tarps, storage, hand tools here but do have a planer, jig saw, plunge router(with 3 interchangeable shank sizes) and heat gun that have held up to repeated use without issue. They do sell mechanic tool boxes and tool sets, storage systems and everything in between. If I cant find something in Portland or Auburn location I can easily order online.

My husband loves this place. Anytime he needs a certain tool,we come here to see if you have it. Most of the time we buy something here. Today he needed a mitre saw and picked one up for a good price.

No use asking employees anything, they seem to just hire teenage girls that have never used a tool in there short lives, there’s never anyone on the floor working but if your there for inexpensive tools that you don’t need forever it’s great. You will find a ton of fun stuff and there’s coupons if you sign up.

We have been to several of these stores and have not been disappointed yet. This was our first visit here. There was an excellent sale going on so we picked up a few items.

Decent selection, great prices. Some items arent of the best quality, but you really cant best it for the price. You can also exchange items that dont hold up for a replacement. Sign up for their rewards program for a bunch of great coupons.

I would only buy simple tools here theyre more complex items are not so great.

Candy Store! This place has a little bit of everything! If you like tools, hardware, etc, great place! Landed a 3500 watt generator and some hitch parts. Worth the trip!

Very good prices for home owner grade tools

Its a nice place to get cheap tools. Cheap doesnt always mean good quality at a good price. But if you just need something as a hobbyist, then this store is probably good enough. Easy to notice from traffic and has plenty of parking.

I just got back from Harbor Freight in SOPO & am very disappointed. I bought one of those little red pumps (hand operated) some months ago but havent needed it until this past weekend. I needed to pump a small amount of gasoline to change the fuel filter on my boat. The pump would not work, this pump was brand new never been used. I brought the pump back to HF and the first guy told me if the package was open they could not take it back. He referred me to the next guy in the chain of command he told me they dont take pumps back, but I could call a help number. Completely unacceptable. The very least he could have done was to make the call himself. Ive been around for a while and I know what good customer is, this was definitely not it. If this is company policy they really need to take a good look at to see if its worth losing a customer over.

Harbor tools is great. I know the quality of tools is not great but the availability is great. The prices they have are reasonable and I always feel like I get my money out of them because they last. For a person who is in the trades the quality just isnt there, get something more durable. For a hobbiest such as myself these tools are perfect.

It is great to have a Harbor Freight store in South Portland Maine. I am a average homeowner that needs tools to perform repairs and maintenance to my home. I frequent harbor freight when I need a specific tool for the job. If you like tools this place is like a candy store. Great prices and terrific inventory.

Tools are decent for any non professionals or hobbyists... The coupon game is gimmicky... I dont enjoy playing the games... Stop wasting money on publishing Coupon books and put that savings into better pricing for ALL.

Management is not willing to enforce the mask mandate, and asks customers to stop complaining when the customer is asking that the mandate be enforced.

Obviously not Top Quality Brand name tools but for the DIY projects these tools are more then enough. Dont beat on them and they will last many many years. I have bought many items for Gas engines. Pumps, electric tools, pumps. Pneumatic compressors air tools, hand tools and many many other items all of which have lasted and have presented me no problems, in closing for what I have spent and accomplished with these items I am more then pleased.

Wanted an item they were advertising on the floor. They brought out the wrong item. The correct item was not in the store after I had paid for it. I was told it was an item they were not going to stock any more. There was no appalage and blamed corporate for the issue. To make matters stranger. I stood in line again to get a refund and when I got to the cashier he asked me to let a person go that was behind me, because it was going to take a long time for the refund. Hard to say something nice.

I went in for a motorcycle chock for holding my motorcycle on a trailer and yes they had one. They have everything. But if you have a coupon you better carry it because they are not very good at offering you that discount without it.

Harbor Freight is a great place for buying tools of reasonable quality for awesome prices. For the average Joe Q Homeowner such as myself, I dont need or want to spend hundreds of dollars on a fancy set of wrenches. Im perfectly happy with the $19.99 set from Harbor Freight that turns nuts and bolts just the same as pricey competitors.I only have two gripes about the store. There frequently are not enough cashiers stationed at the checkout area, leading to lengthy waits before you can pay and leave. There also is little to no outreach from associates to answer questions or see if customers need help finding anything. You are largely on your own for finding the product you want. With that being said, I still love shopping here!
