It took 9 days for my car to be serviced... that was not a big deal for me! The BIG deal for me was upon picking up my car it was hit and damaged by a tow truck on their property!!!😤 and they (Sam & Baker) did NOT take responsibility for the damages! Whats even worst is they own an auto parts garage a block from the shop... and wanted to charge me for the head light part! HOW DO THEY NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR MY CAR THAT WAS DAMAGED ON THEIR PROPERTY? 🤔 Sam especially, attitude was horrible! He was insensitive, dispassionate and very well unconcerned about the incident! He told me that his lawyer said, that the shop is not responsible for damages to vehicles on the property! What sense does that make? I drop my car to be serviced, cost me almost $700... and pick it up with over $2k worth of damage done! They did not and will not compensate one bit!!!

I love this place and Dave is AWESOME! This place is like a family! They work together and they are a ten star, honest and reliable department! They fixed my air conditioning, brakes, radiator, and did an AWESOME Job! This a professional and highly recommended auto care place and all the suburban and inner city car owners give it five stars because it is a very honest and hard working department! Had a lot of work done on my 04 Lexus Gx470, Nadia and Baker were delightful to work with and the machanics did a great job on my vehicle.

I just bought a used Mercedes from a lady who had it for 4 years and never did any maintenance to it just driving it for style with no desire for the upkeep at all in all that time nor detail interior and had to take it to these people after paying $85 for extreme deep cleaning and put $1,700 into the car including a tune-up that was never done in the four years and now my car is running like new. They made sure I would get the best use out my experience and I will use them again. They fixed gasketsand oil leaks and all! I bought the car as is and it definitely was just that and not worth a dollar more for what I had to do, but now its worth the money I paid for it not just the name or shell. A car is nothing without good mechanical maintenance and for foreign cars if you can afford the work one this is the place to be! Now my car is getting the respect it deserves from its owner and mechanic. Cant be cheap owning a 🗣foreign!

Ladies stay away from this place, they will rip you off!! I took my car there for a starting problem (cutting off) and a oil change. I was charged $760.00. A few days later, my car was doing the same thing (cutting off). I took my car back and was told to come back in a few days because they were busy. It took almost a month before they were able to see me again and when they checked my car out again, they told me that it was going to be $1000 to fix. I told them that I already paid them for that problem, how do they think that I owe them another $1000. They said that what they fixed was a DIFFERENT problem. I didnt ask them to fix the DIFFERENT problem, I was there for the starting issue. I ended up paying the additional cost, but the kicker was that I later found out that they didnt change my oil. I will NEVER go back there!! EVER!!!

Very respectful staff

They claim I had a transmission issue basically saying I needed a new one. It took 2 days to put one in, which is unheard of but what really got me was when they did my brakes and rotors. I drove the vehicle and couldn’t stop. So I took it to the nearest mechanic shop. I let them check out the brakes and was told that all my brakes front and back were on wrong.. the front in the back and the back in the front. I could have been in a horrible accident due to this. I don’t recommend anyone to get their car repaired here it’s a accident waiting to happen.

Really helpful guys. My parents were visiting Detroit with their BMW when the check engine light came on for another shorted ignition coil at 4:30. Sam stayed late as we raced to get the parts and get to the garage. He replaced all ignition coils for a reasonable price and got my parents back on the road home. Very nice and helpful.

My car wouldnt start and I spoke to the owner of Southfield Import on the telephone. The owner was instrumental with helping me to figure out how to place my foreign car in neutral without power and how to unlock my steering wheel without power.The owner sent two tow trucks to help me resolve the situation. The last tow truck driver, looked under my hood, located a port that connects to my battery, in the trunk. My trunk wouldnt open because I didnt have any power in my car. The tow truck driver jumped my car, in order to unlock my steering wheel, and to tow my vehicle to Southfield Import. This tow truck driver was excellent and understood foreign cars!Sam was my mechanic and he talked to me on the telephone and explained how to place my car in neutral without power. I followed the instructions and my car was towed after the tow truck driver jumped my car and unlocked my steering wheel.I was contacted the same day with a diagnosis of the problem of my car and a fair estimate. The next day, in the morning, my car was ready for pickup. The service and repair were fast. I will be a loyal customer for life! I appreciate a business that is fair and honest.I called the owner after receiving my car and thanked him for helping me. I recognized integrity, honesty, and a willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty to help me.I originally contacted another repair shop that didnt put forth any effort to help me unlock my steering wheel or help me place my car in neutral without power. Great mechanics, great customer service!!! Dave, the manager, is awesome!!! I had intermittent electrical problems where all the lights on the dashboard came on and the gauges went down to zero while driving. A frightening experience. Brought my car in twice and they could not find the problem. They did not charge me. After a couple weeks, the problem started again. Brought my car back and Dave suggested I should disconnect a remote starter I had installed years ago and bring the vehicle back to the original factory specs. I told Dave to do it. After driving my car a full day, it seems that solved the problem. Oh, by the way, Dave did not charge me for the work. He said he wanted me to be safe. Great customer service!!!!

This place is horrible. I would not recommend this place to nobody. Took my car to them they said it was the starter. Picked up my car two days later I was stranded. They charged me over 300.00 hundred dollars for a starter come to find out it was never my starter. I had to take my vehicle to another shop they fixed the problem. This was my first time taking my car here, someone actually suggest I take my car here. Not only did the shop do a phenomenal job fixing my car. They have a program where you can do ninety days same as cash, no credit check. Which I think is awesome since the repairs to my car were above $1000.00 dollars.

I went in to get brakes put on my car and when I was dropped off at home to begin repairs, O ended up needing brakes, rotors and 2 brake lines. Sam, the owner walked me thru the shop to my car to show me the actual repairs needed. He was really nice and informative. Even though I spent $460 that I didn’t want to, it was well worth it. My 2007 BMW X3 3.0si needed lots of work. The mechanics not only corrected the mistakes of the BMW dealer but also was patient and fixed all other overlooked issues. My truck runs like brand new. I came here to get my water pump fixed on my Beamer and they guys here were really professional and timely. My headlight even went out after the fact and they fixed it no charge! I honestly recommend here because they don’t try to rip you off.

It’s important for you to know that you can trust the excellent reviews for Southfield Imports. I found out about this place because my older brother had his 2005 Honda Civic repaired there and loved the service. Last week he recommended that my younger brother have his wiper blade motor repaired there on his 2013 Chevy Malibu. That same week, my Honda Civic 2007 began leaking oil mysteriously and rattling. Southfield Import discovered that the valve was not sealed properly during the last oil change;the arms needed to be replaced; and it needed a new gasket. Do you know that I left the car at 9 am on Friday and it was repaired by 12:45 pm. In what world do you know of this happening!!! Nothing short of a miracle! Nor was I charged an arm and a leg. The prices are fair. To top it off, Dave (who is FANTASTIC) gave me a considerable discount on 4 new tires and an alignment. I took it back today for the tires and alignment and was SUPER satisfied! I am an educator and a mental health therapist. I travel through the tri-County area each day, so it is important that I have my vehicle functioning properly. Thanks to them, I will hold off on purchasing a new vehicle. They have won me over as a loyal customer. Try them and they will win you over too. There are still honest mechanics in the world.

How come 2 ignition coils and 6 spark plugs cost $380, non stock products?Quoted $750 for throttle body change when they could have just tried to clean it and do throttle body alignment which actually worked, through a different auto shop and saved me big bucks.I was told that he would charge me $100 for diagnosing what went wrong with the car, if I do not go through with the repair with them, while many have told later that Southfield Imports wouldnt charge anything for diagnosis if they choose to not go through with the repair after diagnosis. Double standards.All the while I have been talking about my car taking multiple takes to start, they never figured out that the reason was a bad starter motor, which I found later.

I had a very good experience at Southfield Imports. My Infiniti QX56 was repaired and returned to me the same day. The staff was very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. Sam explained in detail what was wrong with my vehicle and it was repaired to my satisfaction. I will return to Southfield Imports if I have another issue with my vehicle and I would also refer my friends and family.

My husband got in an accident in 2015 and Southfield Import Auto Repair quoted $950 for the fix. Since my deductible was $1000 I decided to go to my dealership. The dealership took nearly 4 weeks to fix it, and we discovered that they didnt connect my brake lines and other wheel components correctly and I was driving an incredibly unsafe car for months! Their work was wrong twice and my insurance went up in the end. I wish that I had taken my car to Southfield Import Auto Repair.So after learning my lesson, in late 2016 I needed to have my wheel bearings replaced as my car was getting about 15 miles per gallon due to me avoiding the fix for so long. Southfield Import Auto Repair replaced the wheel bearings for $500 less than the dealership quoted, and it was done same day. Prior to replacing both wheel bearings, they called my husband to let him know they replaced one, drove the car and felt it best to replace the other, and would my husband give them permission to complete this fix. My husband approved, but he is an engineer and fixes cars himself (but didnt have the time, nor patience to fix this) and made the gentleman at Southfield Import Auto Repair show him the wheel bearings they replaced to make sure they didnt lie to us about needing to replace both. The wheel bearings were completely worn down, and he was very happy with their decision to replace both. After the fix, my car immediately started getting 40 miles to the gallon again!In 2017 my car needed a new intake manifold according to the Audi dealership. Their quote was about $1500 with parts and labor. I took my car to the Southfield Import Auto Repair shop to see what their quote would be. They quoted about $950 for the part alone, which was the exact same price as the Audi dealership. They were fantastic in explaining that there was no after market part available. I voiced the fact that I didnt want to replace the part because the car is part of a recall and I dont want to spend money to fix the car if I plan to give it back later this summer. The gentleman was fantastic in explaining what could potentially happen to my car if I did not get the fix, and overall told me that I could keep driving it safely for now, and I could always bring it back to them at any time if I started to worry about it again. ***As a woman I find it difficult to find men who respect me and will not lie to me to take my money.***I will repeatedly take my cars to this repair shop, as well as recommend them to my friends and family, as I trust them, they respect me, they have never steered me wrong, and they do quality work at a fair price.

I was on my way to work when I hit a massive pothole near 8 mile and Evergreen. I was able to drive my car down to Lasher when I discovered Southfield Import. I walked in and spoke to Dave. He was very friendly and efficient. I left my car there to be looked at and he called me and stated that my rim was cracked and they couldnt fix it but offered to put my spare tire on for me at no cost. He was really concerned about my safety. He even called the number on file to check and make sure I made it home safely on the doughnut tire. I was very impressed and would recommend anyone I know to patronize this establishment. Dave showed that it isnt always about the money but that their customers safety is also a priority. I wish I could rate my service and experience with 10 Stars. Thank You Southfield Import and Dave for a great customer service experience.

Very good auto work with No return

I had to take my car back to this location 4 times to fix a problem that should have been fixed right the first time... I had to take off work 3 times.. the only reason why Im giving 3 stars is because the owner decided to eat the cost of the part by ordering it new as oppose to trying to rebuild the part and only at this time was the issue resolved. Also I had my brakes pads replaced twice in 4 months and my rotors replaced once and my brakes have recently started squeaking again... Idk if the supplier they use is selling faulty parts but its a hassle to constantly take off work to have them fix repairs that should have been completed the first time... However the men who work at the shop are always nice and respectful... The prices are a little bit higher compared to other shops in the area. They have completed other work on my car with no issues afterwards but the issue with my brakes and drive train left a bad taste in my mouth... This is just my experience...

I bought a bmw in terrible condition and these guys rebuilt everything on the engine for me and replaced everything and got it right from the first time. I would recommend these guys to anybody.

This place had me fooled initially, but their true colors came out when I took it back to have my fuel pump done. After picking it up, my engine in my Porsche was ticking, when it wasnt when I took it up there. Now I need an engine. I had to take it back after the fuel pump was done, because something still was wrong. Not to mention I went up there for an oil change, and the bolt on the oil pan was stripped, but instead of them trying to get it off and just get me another bolt, they tried to get me to buy a new oil pan for $600 - $800. I took it to another place to get an oil change and they got the bolt out and charged me $10 for a new one.

I had them work on my car on two separate occasions and both times they didnt repair it correctly. The first time I had them do the brakes on all four wheels, I dropped the car off and they worked on it during the day, went to pick it up after work just before closing, I drove maybe 3 miles down the road before one of the brake shoes on the rear brakes fell off. Took it back to then and had them fix it and gave them the benefit of the doubt, things happen sometimes even to experienced mechanics. The second time the thermostat went bad so I took it to them to replace it. The thermostat itself ended up being an expensive part but they gave me a deal on labor to compensate. I picked the car up afterwards and everything seemed fine until it started getting cold out and I went to use the heat. The car would only blow hot air while moving (air flowing through radiator) so I checked the coolant level and it was almost empty. I filled the car with coolant and discovered that there was a coolant leak coming from the thermostat that jad been replaced months prior. I took it to a different mechanic this time because I was skeptical of Southfield import autos work and my suspicions were confirmed, their mechanic had pinched the thermostat gasket during instalation which was what caused the coolant leak. Both repairs that they attempted on my car are very common and any automotive shop should be able to perform without problems, this was not the case for Southfield Import Auto. I originally decided to take my car to this shop because they quoted me at a better price than other local shops and the guys that worked there were always nice but, having to take my car elsewhere to have it fixed a second time ended up costing me and for this reason alone I would not recommend this shop to anyone, even if they give you a better price than any other shop around.
