I took my sons car in for a third opinion. We had to spend a great deal of money on a head gasket, but Jessica & Mike not only did it cheaper, they also are willing to work with you on price and made sure the job was done right. I own American Transportation, a taxi company, and now use them to work on our fleet vehicles. Great people. Honest is not normally a word you hear when you are talking about mechanics, but they are honest, fair & reasonably priced.

I brought my truck to this shop in December where I was informed that I would need a rebuild. At first the staff were very professional, but after the fourth time bringing the truck back to them due to transmission continuing to do the same thing their costumer service went out the window. Its now almost April and my truck has been at busy beavers for three weeks. They never call you back with any information. I finally after two weeks of calling got ahold of someone that knew the progress of my truck only to find out that my truck had not even been looked at the last three weeks it has been there. When I asked why are they not getting my truck fixed that i have already paid 3000$ months prior, I was informed that it would be fixed whenever they get to it. I then asked why they could not keep me informed on the progress of my vehicle. I was informed that I would have to continue calling them. I informed the staff member that if they would please try to keep me informed so I would know what to do for a vehicle to get to work. I informed them that even if it took them months I just need to know something then the staff member became very rude and told me itll be THREE MONTHS! And then asked if that makes me feel better!! Im now having to hire a attorney to see what legal avenue I have to take to get my truck fixed. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I MADE CHOOSING THIS VERY POOR BUSINESS TO DO ANYTHING ON YOUR VEHICLE UNLESS TIME AND WORK QUALITY IS NO CONCERN TO YOU!

This company went above and beyond to take care of me. I was on my way to Louisiana and my transmission went out on me. I was stuck on I-10 and they got me a tow truck and a ride to the hotel instantly. they had my car repaired and ready to go in three days. (which is unheard of especially considering the situation at hand) regardless that they were five hundred dollars less than the closest quote. they were very helpful, kind and provided a service with a quality and respect that has been long gone in the automotive industry. I do and will recommend them to anyone around them for all and any automotive repairs and maintenance. Thank you for everything you guys did for me including the follow up call to ensure that I was satisfied with your service. I cant thank you enough for the way I was treated and the service you provided. truly, THANK YOU

My first experience with Busy Beavers was 3 years ago when the transmission went in my husbands Accord. They were able to get the car in and out within 2 1/2 weeks, which is less time than other shops had quoted. I now continue to use them for the Accord and the CRV I bought. I wouldnt trust anyone else with my cars and the prices are very reasonable. They are always helpful and wont suggest parts I dont need. I would and have recommended them to many others.

Mike and Jessica replaced a fuse that had been removed by a good Samaritan who helped me try to restart the car. My car is now able to run, and we have worked out a plan to take care of some much needed upkeep on my 96 Suzuki Sidekick. They were honest and upfront about the diagnosis of my car and gave me reasonable prices for each piece of work.

I did not receive full service for my vehicle transmission. The mechanic test drove, and physically and visually inspected it.I was given an estimated invoice of 800.00 to rebuild transmission.I came back two days later to check status of repair, it stillwas parked as if it was not worked on. I then put a 100.00 depositon the vehicle to ensure that it will be ready. I waited but no response wasgiven. I went up to the shop, the vehicle was now parked in a new locationbehind the building where it cannot be moved unless they moved it.I was the given a brand new invoice that said 1881.00 minus the 100.00deposit paid originally toward the 800.00 estimated invoice. I decided to nolonger proceed with service and request that I take my vehicle off premisesuntil I can discuss with my partner the extra cost. They stated it will be readythat next day. Ultimately my vehicle was held hostage along with my 100.00deposit. I was forced to call the sheriff and the next day the vehicle was readyto leave, but now the battery is dead, and I cannot drive off as I drove on.This business is not consistent and has problems with doing the work andrefunding money. DO NOT FALL VICTIM TO THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICEITS ALL TO BUY TIME AND COVER THEM TAKING YOUR MONEY!

My wifes car (09 Lincoln MKS) was having what we believed to be a transmission issue. We took it to our local Ford dealership and, after an $87 diagnostic check, were told they couldnt find the issue diagnostically so our best bet was to drop $5k on a new tranny....took it to Busy Beavers where they looked at and test drove the vehicle...THAT DAY!...and solved our issue for less than $400....aside from that they called us twice to see how the car was performing two days and again two weeks later. Other businesses would do well to follow the lead on how this business not only timely, efficiently and cost effectively fixed our automobile, but also on how they handle customer service. We will definitely be back should the need arise!

They previously worked on my 2006 Lexus IS 250. I had both breaks done at a reasonable price. They even gave me an inspection for UBER when my boyfriend was driving at the time. Recently my 2001 Honda Accord has been overheating so I called them to get a diagnosis. The next day they replaced my AC Condensor Fan, & front two wheel bearings. Maggie went the extra mile to make for sure I was getting the best deal possible which saved me hundreds! She even accommodated my situation considering the fact that I am a college student from Chicago. My family was able to pay for the repair over the phone. It was that quick & easy. I dont trust any other auto shop in Tallahassee. They are the best in town & have been in business for over 30 years!

I took my Nissan Pathfinder in for transmission issues it was slipping pretty bad. I had 189,000 miles on it. Its an old truck 4x4 an early 2000-2001 model, it is gonna have problems. Mechanical devices wear out people, and an automatic transmission is a mechanical device. I was given a VERY FAIR estimate for an automatic transmission rebuilding and service only. Not a new transmission, not a used transmission. But the damaged components would be replaced and any other worn parts would be evaluated and my transmission would be put back into a safe and reliable condition. I was given a 12 month warranty. Now here is honesty, before this I had it at another shop because I had a really bad, rear main seal leak. During the panic of not having my truck I had forgotten this. The technician noticed this right away, he could have waited until next visit to tell me about it and charged me a heck of a lot more money. But since he was pulling the transmission out of my truck he wanted to help me out. That saved me a lot of money in labor! That is what costs so much. These jobs are very labor intensive, if you are having slippage dont wait too long. It will just cost more money because more damage will happen. It took 3 days of work to fix this, I trust them and would recommend Busy Beaver to anyone. Just listen to them and take their advice.

Do not bring your car here to repaired!!!!!! They will rip you off. I went to them in August and was told i needed another transmission. Paid them $1800 for a rebuilt transmission and the labor. They were very professional and quick at getting the job done, had my car back in a week. But in April my check engine soon light comes on so i take my car to get the codes ran at autozone and it comes back to a transmission related problem. Next day, back to BB and they told me it was in fact my transmission and i needed another one. Instead of letting them rip me off. I took my car to another mechanic where he told me that they NEVER changed my transmission the first time. Only replaced a few things in the transmission to rig it up to make it drivable.

Busy Beavers did not try to up sell me anything! They replaced the belt and that was it. Also, it was exactly the price that was quoted over the phone. I love it when you dont feel you have been tricked or they are trying to sell you unnecessary services. Thank you Busy Beavers!

So rude. The receptionist, Ashley, hung up on me twice in a row in the middle of our conversation. No warning, no call back, nothing. When I called back she said she couldnt hear me well the first call. In the middle of the second call, she hung up again unexpectedly while scheduling an appointment. As a potential customer, this is far from how I want to be treated. I was calling to enquire a vehicle inspection, but now I will be seeking service elsewhere. Uber recommends using this business for inspections, but I do not. What a disappointment.

Outstanding customer service, I brought in my 2007 BMW 6 series so they could look at my trans cooling lines which i believed need to be replaced. After they put it up on the rack and took the time to take the under bumper assembly apart they discovered that it was not the lines at all. They could have continual with replacing the lines because that is what i told them the problem was. instead they took the high road, they called me and told me that that was not the issue, and on top of that they didnt charge me for the man power they spent on it. I highly recommend Busy Beavers toall my family members, friends and anyone who needs auto repair in Tallahassee . You guys have a customer for life

While I know how to operate a car I know next to nothing about how they work; its never really interested me. As a result whenever my car needs help Im always mildly paranoid Im going to get charged for frivolous things that I dont really need and with good reason - my past experience tells me places like this often benefit from someones ignorance. Recently my car threw itself a temper tantrum and I had to get it worked on. Thru excellent word of mouth I entrusted Busy Beavers to go poking and prodding under there to find out what was going on. I have nothing but praise for these folks - they found the problem quickly and communicated with me in an honest and neutral manner about what my options were, allowing me to make decisions without feeling pressured or confused. Once I made those decisions they fixed the problem swiftly and got me back on my way. I will recommend them all day long from here on out.

A week after they put 2 courts too much oil in my car I noticed and took it in to have them remove some. They laughed and said it would be fine. 3 days later my car sprung an oil leak and 2 days after that the engine blew. After speaking with other auto shops they informed me it is never acceptable to have that much oil in a car. They wont return my calls. The first time I visited them they left oil finger marks on my dash. I didnt think it was a big deal, but i should have taken that as a sign of their carelessness. Also, their push the blame responses to customers on here are all probably crap. The stories I have now heard from one of their past mechanics are lunacy.

Let me preface this by stating that I never write reviews.I have a 2008 Scion xB that recently started experiencing transmission issues. The car would struggle to shift gears and completely refused to shift up to 4th gear. This was extremely problematic since the higher-than-usual RPMs put unnecessary strain on the engine and killed gas efficiency.I took it to Legacy Toyota to get the problem looked at. They charged me a $100 diagnostics fee. I then waited 3 hours before they were able to not only diagnose the problem (which was a speed sensor), but inform me that my insurance didnt cover the cost of the work. I would have to pay $450 to get it fixed.Enter Busy Beavers. Going to them with the results of the diagnostics, they not only double-checked Toyotas diagnosis, but ordered the part and replaced it. Not only that, but I left the premises to find the check engine light was still on, in which I returned, they looked at it again, found that my car utilized 2 speed sensors, replaced the second one free of charge, and completely resolved the issue in a little under 3 hours and for only $200. MASSIVE difference between the two places. I was extremely impressed by their commitment to solving the problem and the courtesy shown throughout the whole process

If youre a hard working, self-respecting individual seeking honest auto repair it is absolutely mandatory that you seek an alternate solution. As an FSU grad and 9 year Tallahassee resident I was simply astonished by their lack of professionalism and blatant disregard for my satisfaction. I had my vehicle towed to their establishment for an engine repair and it was the worst decision of my adult life. After their free diagnostic of my vehicle and speaking with their representative Maggie, I informed them I would be towing my vehicle elsewhere for an additional opinion. Five minutes later I received a call back from the business owner, Jessica Beaver. I was given a heartfelt spiel about how she and her husband started the business to give others the fair treatment they did not receive as college students seeking auto repairs. I was told that they would do the best work at the most fair price in town, and I was given a one to two week turn around time by Ms. Jessica Beaver. My vehicle was allowed to sit for a week (during FSU Spring Break, hmmm...), before my call to inquire about its status prompted their staff to begin. I was told Ms. Beaver had a family emergency which delayed my repair. The remainder of the duration my vehicle was in their possession I was treated with less and less respect. The staff grew increasingly indifferent to my disdain and increasingly cavalier with the truth. At first I was told that my vehicle would be ready the same day my replacement engine arrived. However once it arrived I was still without the vehicle for over a week. After the less than satisfactory customer service experience, I was hopeful that maybe the quality of the repair above average. Unfortunately that is not the case. There is a blatant crack in my thermostat housing (which is impossible to overlook) which causes coolant to leak onto the thermostat. Not only can this negligence lead to another coolant-related engine failure, but the vehicle emits a very offensive vaporized coolant smell when leakage occurs during driving. While this damage was probably pre-existing, its undeniable that the crack needed to be addressed in addition to the engine! Also my fuel injection line was damaged somehow and patched using spare tubing and metal zip ties. (What?!) As a result my vehicle does not accelerate properly and struggles to climb hills in higher gears, which I never had difficulty with before. My engines splash shield is completely missing, making the new part susceptible to damage from miscellaneous items which bounce up off the road. Lastly there was a nail in my front passenger tire, which Ms. Beaver and staff flat-out refused to pay for. In fact, they used delay tactics to keep me from picking up my vehicle and allowed my vehicle to be towed off their property. Afterwards they insisted the nail mustve become lodged in the tire during the tow! Their suggestion was to bring the vehicle back so that they may plug the tire. However their proposed solution was contrary to what I was told at three independent tire stores, which all refused to patch the tire because of its bald condition. The sum total of the cost of the repairs my vehicle needs AFTER paying them a couple grand for a engine repair exceeds $650.Just please do yourself a favor and A) Disregard Ms. Jessica Beavers replies on any of the reviews posted here -- her heartfelt story proves she is intelligent enough to be very convincing. Her refuting any one aspect of this review would only serve to prove her dishonesty, and certainly she cannot refute the hurtful nature of my mistreatment! B) Do not even consider allowing Busy Beavers to look at your vehicle for FREE and C) Do not allow anyone who you (even slightly) care about to take their vehicle to them either!
