Such a quaint, homey shop. The food was reasonably priced and delicious. My iced coffee was the perfect ratio of sweet and full. Will be returning!

What a wonderful gem. Great food and an entertaining establishment to visit. A young lady played piano at the front. I had a very nice conversation with the owner who is the living embodiment of the American dream that FSU has to offer: work hard and success shal follow.We’ll be back upon our upcoming visits to the campus.

Consistently tasty beverages and pizza bagels. My go-to spot to study if Im on this side of campus or need an easily recognizable landmark to meet up with someone new. Just dont get the boba or bring outside food or drinks.

Great place to grab coffee and breakfast close to campus at FSU. Iced coffee was not weak or watery. Egg and Cheese breakfast croissant was hot and cooked to perfection. Love supporting family run businesses. Looking forward to coming back. Go Noles!

We had a fun and delicious lunch! The manager (or maybe he was the owner?) invited our two younger kids to come back and learn to make a snow cone. He even gave it to them as a treat!! Highly recommend Sweet Shop!

My absolute favorite place to go! This is the first cafe I came to when I started college at FSU because it is close to campus, but now I come here almost every day and I never get tired of it. The food and drinks here are amazing, no matter what you get. Theres so much to choose from on the menu, the environment is nice, and the owner and staff are super sweet. I have several friends who have come here and have had the same experience as me, and thats why we have become regulars. I HIGHLY recommend The Sweet Shop.

Nice place just off FSU campus to grab a quick bite. Good selection of teas and coffees,shakes,smoothies, sandwiches,.... I like their ham and egg on a croissant. Simple but tasty. Manager (owner?) a nice guy too. Offered to take me back to the kitchen to show me how to make the sandwich.

Honest cafe experience expensive menu and comfortable, quiet seating. Ideal for a hearty breakfast and getting some work done.

A must stop when visiting FSU, based on location and tradition. Dont expect food to be more than basic and as described. A smile would make the place much more welcoming, but I guess dealing with teenagers all day would errode that smile a bit. 🙂

Selection seemed limited. Had to eat elsewhere. Great location. Quaint place with cool history. Parking was too complicated and a waste of time-- had to download an app only to find out Sundays were free.

The manager/owner lacks ethics and professionalism to treat clients. While he kept verbally harassing me, I tried to explain that I did not see the sign of no outside food/drinks but couldnt communicate with him from all the yelling and rudeness. I always buy a smoothie when I go there to study to help the business, but today he just lost a regular customer due to his lack of interpersonal and ethical skills. Although I threw away my starbucks coffee, it was not enough for him, so he kept yelling at me until kicking me out. Sadly, the owner creates hostile a environment to study or to eat. I hope this does not happen to anyone, so please be careful on going there.

Sweet shop is that cute little coffee shop you see in the movies. With its warm and welcoming atmosphere I can see why its an FSU favorite. The first time I came in I was shocked by the huge selection of items they have. Ranging from fruit smoothies, to bubble tea, Italian sodas, and every type of coffee imaginable, Id say it would be pretty difficult not to find something. In addition to their drinks they also have a ton of food items, from the classic muffins to wraps, paninis, and sandwiches.If I had to give my recommendation, I would urge you to try the cafe con leche with the egg and cheese bagel. I have not had a good cafe con leche in a long time and this one is so good Ive found myself ordering 2 in one day!Last but not least, the owner is incredibly nice and welcoming, you can tell he cares about his business and wants to provide the most for his customers.I cannot recommend this place enough! Please support your local businesses especially now due to the pandemic making it so hard for places like these to survive.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I used to be a regular customer, but after today I will never step my foot at that establishment ever again. I went to a different coffee shop earlier today that only offered outside seating. It started raining, so I had to leave that place and go somewhere else. I went to sweet shop because its on campus and I also go there to study. I could not leave my table, because I was watching a live lecture and I was just finishing drinking the coffee that I bought at the other place, so I could buy food and more coffee at Sweet Shop. A man, who I believe is the owner or a manager, approached my friend and I in a very aggressive way, yelling at us and hitting his chest. I was in shock and honestly scared as that big rude man was getting really close to us and being very aggresive.I completely understand that outside food is not allowed, but both my friend and I were literally about to buy food and drinks. We were just waiting for my lecture to be over.I really did not appreciate how he approached the situation. He could have simply told us that it was not allowed, or if we were going to buy anything, but instead he chose to yell and be extremely aggressive towards two 5 foot tall girls who are regular customers...EDIT: It is very easy to call other people liars when you are the liar yourself. Please learn how to be polite to people and accept your customers feedback, either good or bad, instead of calling everyone who posts a negative review a liar and using the same broken record liar liar pants on fire.Also, Id highly recommend you to get medical help. You have serious anger issues. Karma is real. Have a good day.

Just passing through Tallahassee today and decided to stop for some coffee. I had a bees knees (honey and vanilla) and it was delicious! However, I took a star away because the barista made it wayyyyy too hot. I almost burned my tongue. I would ask for it cooler or maybe it was a onetime deal. Also I ordered decaf and 2 hours my anxiety is through the roof so no way it was made decaf :(

We were at the Sweet Shop with our gluten free child twice this weekend. Both days, we asked for the banana Nutella croissant without the croissant. To be clear, we were asking if you could simply put the banana on a plate and drizzle some Nutella on it, no bread please, just put it on a plate. Actually, you don’t even have to drizzle the Nutella, just plop some down next to the banana. Not asking for a price cut, willing to pay full price, just don’t give us the croissant. We won’t even take the croissant, you can sell the same croissant to someone else.The first day, the cashier told us that the manager said there could be absolutely no substitutions on any order. The second day, the cashier actually asked both the manager and the cook and we were told absolutely not. No one told us that you have gluten-free bread, and I suspect it’s because you don’t actually have gluten-free bread but you just said so after a candid review. There was no gluten-free menu. It’s not hard to make a small concession that means a big deal to someone else. The fact that you chose not to do speaks volumes about who you are and how you do business.The coffee is hot though, so there’s that.

We have a gluten free kid in our party and asked for a banana with Nutella skipping the croissant. They said no! They insisted that they put the banana and Nutella on the croissant. They refused to put it on the side even for a kid with a gluten allergy. Sweet shop should change their name to f...ing salty shop. Two thumbs down for this jerk alert business!!!!!

A little unreasonably heavy handed on the no outside food policy. If not for that I would have given them 5 stars. Kicking a group of guests out, because one of 5 had a cup of coffee from a competitor, that just wanted to drop in and join friends, and not even purchase anything, is not good for endearing yourselves to the group of 4 that were customers.

Came here for the first time with some friends who spoke very highly of this place. The food was great, but it took almost 40 minutes for my friends to get their orders even after approaching the cashier about 20 minutes in. They werent compensated or refunded either. I would come back to give it another shot though.

Tried the bubble tea. It was very disgusting. It is just cow milk with some sugar syrup. We ordered two different but it didn’t taste either the mango or the tiger . Very disappointed. Except the tasteless bubble tea, the place is cool to hang out with friends.

I think I might have been the most regular customer during my time here at FSU. It was a pleasure interacting with and getting to know everyone who works here. I always felt welcome and it was nice being able to order my usual and have everyone know what I meant. Ill miss everyone!

Im literally here EVERYDAY! I love it, the food and drinks are great! The owner is very friendly and welcoming as well. You cant go wrong by stopping here for food. Its so worth it! They have a great variety on the menu & amazing atmosphere!

A nice place to hang out in between classes if you are a student. There is plenty of seating, a keyboard, a chess board, and free WiFi. The outside seating would be nice if it werent for a somewhat busy 3-way stop right outside. The food and coffee is definitely overpriced for what it is. It would be much better if the prices were reasonable.

Owner is extremely rude and disrespectful. Brought in a Gatorade from home and ordered a panini from counter while doing homework . He rudely came up to me and told me I had to throw out any drinking objects from outside. After him coming up to me and telling me I politely dumped out the Gatorade in the trash and sat back down on the couch to continue studying. He then rudely came up to me seeing the Gatorade bottle and told me I was disrespectful and started pointing out all the different objects in the restaurant he owned. Including the couch I was sitting on. I’ve never been so disrespected in a restaurant. Keep in mind I was previously there for an hour studying. Good drinks, good food, nice employees. TERRIBLE OWNER!

Ive been to the place three times, each time worse than the last. There is no chime on the door or bell on the counter. Since the employees are goofing around in the kitchen, they have no way of knowing if there is a customer waiting for them. When they do finally get around to poking their head out of the window to see a line with three people in it, they act as if doing their job is some sort of inconvenience. The food and coffee is incredibly average in quality and certainly not worth the wait, the rudeness, and the price.Todays conversation after waiting a minute for service.How big is your wrap[rings me up for one gyro wrap]No, how big is it?It is pita.Yes, but how big is the pita. Cozy and a big part of any FSU freshmans day. Unfortunately, its pretty expensive, which keeps me from going very often. But for the atmosphere and the location, its just about worth it.

Love this place! The paninis and sundaes are the top items on the menu, and the root beer float is amazing. Dont like the banana split or burgers all that well though. Coffee is good too.

I absolutely love this cafe shop. The owner is a very nice and friendly man, he usually mans the front counter. Ive visited this establishment many times over the last 6 years and have never had a bad experience. The teas selection is phenomenal as well as are the various cafe style food dishes. My favorite is probably the grilled cheese. It goes really well with a Tzatziki like style spice blend that the owner once offered me to try with the grilled cheese at his recommendation (after having bought the pita sandwich a dozen or so times). My favorite tea is probably the mint tea, unsweetened (hot or cold). I really loved the hot saffron tea that used to be offered, but it was discontinued several years ago because of high saffron prices making it too cost inefficient for sale as a tea flavoring, but that just shows good business sense, at least. This is one of my favorite local shops by the FSU campus. I definitely recommend this place.

Bought a sausage egg and cheese croissant, and a cup of cubed watermelon. The sandwich was pretty good, but nothing to get excited about. The cup of watermelon was a cup of watermelon. The price tag was $11 and change, which seemed a little steep for what I got, but w/e.

The food isnt the best. The drinks are great. A bit overpriced if you ask me, and the WiFi doesnt work well most of the time.

First off, practically everything Ive ordered here has been overpriced. Their coffee drinks are priced higher than Starbucks and yet the quality pales in comparison. The other issue is the management. For a company located on campus, youd think theyd understand that their majority demographic will be students with backpacks and waterbottles. I have seen the manager kick a student out who was trying to buy a drink simply because she also had a waterbottle on the side of her backpack. She quite resonably said but Im buying a drink? to which the manager replied buying a drink doesnt justify bringing one in. I cant think of a faster way to lose a customer.That said, I believe most people choose this cafe because of its convenient location and study atmosphere. While it does have these elements, there are TONS of quality coffee shops around campus which are much more worthy of our business. If you specifically want to go local, I highly recommend Calvins, Lucky Goat, and Black Dog which all feature quality drinks, reasonable prices, and comfortable atmospheres where you are in fact welcome to bring in your water bottle.

I believe the Sweet shop Manager was racially profiling me because he had absolutely no good reason to get flustered and to be obnoxious towards me when I was talking to his employee cashier about my order. He ended up not giving my request about less ice in my drink and rejected it even though I told the cashier twice before he made me the drink. He was talking very rudely and made it seem like I was unwanted, and unwelcomed then I requested for a refund. He made his cashier stop giving me a refund while she was in the process to and told them to put up a sign. Beware and warn others of his malicious ways. Also this place is overpriced and the WiFi sucks.

I love this place! Their food and coffee and boba tea are very very good, and the owner is very nice (if you arent a complete jerk). I hope this place stays a long time; I come here and do homework or study all the time! Try the caprese croissant or the witchs brew latte.
