I ordered a green tea names Gunpowder, a friend of mine treated me with it at her house and we both enjoyed its bold character. I got a very light cup of tea, very hard to tell what it actually is. Green teas, like dragon well, Biluochun, gunpowder... are all with unique tastes. The other drink we ordered is cold brew, very good. But cold brew doesnt need any skill or not even need any fancy coffee grounds. They ask/mandate for tips, on the cashier machine. Not a bad place, just no specific reason for me to come back.
One of my favorite places to go for coffee and bagels in the mornings. I like the way inside area is divided into rooms suitable for private conversation and quite reading/studying. They seemed to have increased outdoor seating to take advantage of the mild weather in the winter. The staff is friendly and helpful. That said, the parking is a little limited being close to downtown.
Very eclectic vibes which is awesome. WiFi worked great, so it’s a great place to study. I think this building where the coffee shop is located in, used to be a bank, so there’s a large vault inside where you can sit in which is neat. Not a lot of independent coffee shops have iced coffee (many of them only have cold brew in my experience) so it was nice to see that in the menu. The day I visited, their credit card machine was down, so luckily I paid cash, but overall this is a great place!
Best coffee in Tempe. Also they have amazing breakfast items. Friendly staff great place to have coffee and a walking breakfast.
The atmosphere of this place is very different and I like. Very relaxed, but at the same time they have a drive thru. They do a very good job insulating that sound. I worked in coffee shops where that didnt happen and it was stressful to be in there. Not the case here. I really enjoy getting espresso tonic bit its hard to find places that serve it. They were willing to work with me and found a good substitute thats tasted similar. Awesome place.
Great coffee shop! Happened to see this place after leaving walgreens and decided to come give it a try with my grandma. She ordered a strawberry smoothie for herself and my grandpa and son and I ordered an ice blended coffee. Everything was so tasty! Love the environment/atmosphere and especially the fact that they have a drive thru!
Xtreme bean is the spot! Been coming here for a good 5+years now! Can hit the drivethru for a quick caff-fix or stop inside. Every once in awhile like to go inside get an iced latte sit down with my computer and do a little bit of work. They have plenty of tables to sit down and get some work done. Usually there are people there but Ive never had trouble and getting my own table. Come on by and get you something tasty! ✌
Went on a first date here. Went very well. Coffee was good, atmosphere was cozy and quiet to hold an in depth conversation. Would love to one day down the road be able to say this is where I met my significant other and also maybe one day make coffee dates with him a tradition here.
I love the wait staff people. They are so kind and welcoming. I get the same thing nearly every time, a large Iced Chai Tea Latte, and every time it tastes soo good. As I sip - Peace fills my taste buds and a better way starts. Come and enjoy some Zen at Xtreme Bean.
I love their food, coffee, and spacious tables.Their inside roaster set off so much smoke they had to prop open the doors to air the place out.Was with a friend with asthma so we had to leave quick as it was affecting them. This isnt the first time either.Great food, great drinks, but its a coin toss if youll be breathing in coffee smoke at your visit.
Great place for breakfast. Their breakfast sandwiches are better than any fast food and worth the short wait. Hipster vibe on the atmosphere.
Great bagel sandwiches and comfy place to stop if youre stuck getting a tire fixed at Discount Tire! Strong coffee too! Would certainly stop here again!
It’s a chill place to study with very eclectic and diverse type of crowd. It’s not super glamorous but it has a cool vibe. Prior to COVID you got to hear random folks on the piano. Some very good. I’m waiting for it to be open past 8 again as I do most of my work into the evening. I wish they had vegan options. Tempe is a progressive city with lots of vegan restaurants and restaurants with veg options so I think they would increase clientele by having veg options.
Well I was looking for a coffee place apart from regular starbucks and thats how discover this place.. They’re open for dinein, takeout and also drive through.. I was looking for matcha frappe which was not there so had to settle it with cookies n cream quite decent taste wise..Also tried there caramel coffee, thats also good.. I felt its need little more care as decor wise, probably less foot fall due to covid made this place look like a shady n old cafe
If you enjoy loud and obnoxious music, run down furniture, and trash-strewn floors, you will love this coffee shop. The coffee is alright, a touch dark/burnt for my taste. I honestly don’t understand the appeal of this place. Maybe I caught them on a bad day; we all have those. But I get the sense that they’re trying too hard at not trying. It’s terribly uninviting, haphazardly designed, and the dirty kind of grungy that’s probably best avoided. gods only know what their coffee equipment looks like 🤢
I really like this place, I usually pick it as a place to meet up with friends. Great environment for visiting with people and also for getting work done. Any coffee or tea Ive tried has been good. I did have a friend whose order was incorrect, but there are humans behind the counter and humans make mistakes sometimes. They were happy to correct it right away with an apology and for no charge. I would definitely recommend this coffee shop.
I heard great things about the place, but I was disappointed. The place was dirty. I stayed there for about an hour and half and no one came to clean the mess that some people have made. A homeless man came in and sat on the chair and no one paid attention. The coffee was not that great on top of it. I know it gets busy on a Saturday afternoon but maybe adding one staff to look out the spaces where customers actually sit and enjoy coffee would be great.
Super friendly staff with great coffee and food. Get a farmer on green chilli with jam. It is the closest thing Ive had to a legit NYC bodega bagel sandwich here in AZ.
This place has been around for over 2 decades cause I used to come here all the time as a teenager & now I come here with my 18yo.Definitely a cool atmosphere, chill & quiet. Drink menu is simple & not over whelming like some coffee joints. They serve breakfast as well as select sweets. This is a cool hang out to grab some coffee or tea & just chill.I definitely recommend this coffee shop.If you enjoyed this review or found it helpful, please give it a LIKE!
I always love getting their peppermint mocha frapes. Theyre on point and the coffee will give you the adrenaline rush you want. The people are great and remember how I like my favorite beverage.
Xtreme Bean Coffee is an exceptional place, with amazing coffee, great food, and top notch service. I have been coming here for a long time and it has managed to keep its great charm and personal vibes. It has a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating and I never have been there without at least a couple people in there, which can attest to its great service. I think it used to be a bank or something, they have a cool vault door that is opened up with extra space for tables and outlets for computers. If you are in the area definitely stop by and check it out!
Went for the first time and really enjoyed it. Great drinks and atmosphere!
Best coffee in town. Fast and friendly employees.Love this place and great prices
Had a great experience at a unique local owned coffee shop. I ordered an iced coffee and a bagel and my associate ordered a latte and a bagel. The coffee and bagels are great thats whats a service. If you havent tried it check Xtreme Bean.
I love this place! Always have, always will. Please dont go there tho. Haha. Best place in Tempe to get some studying done.
I really like this place and the staff is friendly, but I’m giving three stars because our orders almost never come out right. Ordered two fire in the hole sandwiches today and there was no spicy cream cheese on them (part of the reason we ordered them).Edit: we were given the regular egg/bacon/cheddar sandwiches, not the fire in the hole at all. Also, when going through the drive through, we have to remind the staff what we ordered because a coffee or sandwich is almost always forgotten. Again, I really enjoy the coffee, food, and friendly service but the lack of accuracy earns a three star review.
It used to be my favorite coffee place. Its sad that they cant make their own drinks. Anywhere I go Starbucks, Its a Grind, Dutch Bros knows what a vanilla frap with two shots of espresso mean. Its just impossible to get what one is asking for it seems... I have describe it and paid extra and still they suck so hard. Best luck! I gave up. ✌
My wife introduced me and to them that was my first time and Im sure to return . The drinks were fantastic . I had a large and it was a good price also was twenty percent larger than star bucks and lots better.
The drinks are great, I have been coming here for years, but the fly problem inside has gotten really out of hand.
Went in for breakfast and coffee. The sandwich was delicious and the coffee was good. The service at the front counter was disappointing. The menu was incorrect and displayed items no longer carried. The front counter person was rather curt and rude. They mixed up our sandwich order and the seating areas were not very clean at all. There was torn up and furniture. It was interesting there was a lack of female customers dining in. I was the only female in the cafe for the entire time I was there having breakfast and coffee. I would consider returning for coffee to go but, not for dining in.
Great vibes, a well split up space with 10/10 study and work vibes. Its not quiet at all with the blenders and stuff going though. Definitely a place you can chat without feeling like youre bothering anyone. I often find chocolate coffee drinks disappointing, but I actually love their Rolo drink. Im also a big fan of their bagel breakfast sandwiches. The last two times I came here I really intended to go to Back East Bagels across the street, but they were out of bagels both times. Xtreme Bean came in clutch. Ive even messed around with their cold food and liked it. Definitely one of my favorite coffee shops in the area, maybe my favorite even.
Had a ham, cheese, and egg croissant and it was like eating a piece of heaven for breakfast. Was delicious and would recommend all of their foodz and drinks. Their smoothies are all non-dairy, and perfect for a hot fricken day if youre not craving any of their blended coffees, which are also pretty good. Great option for breakfast (and a local joint) if youre in the area and want something fresh + drive thru option.
I have loved extreme bean before going regularly throughout my time at mcclintock high school. I’m 23 now. The atmosphere is SUPERB. The art is Phenomenal! The drinks have always been good. I love the breakfast and the fact that there’s a drive thru. I just had the best green Chile bagel I’ve ever ordered! I am a bagel lover, and these really are top notch bagels. Too much jalapeño in the HOME MADE veggie cream cheese this time around, but it doesn’t bother me!! The chick with the green hair is takin care of business and is kind but not uncomfortably nice!! The baristas always seem to have that same demeanor.
Best coffee hands down. I buy their bags of coffee to make coffee at home to save a little money. There coffee is so good I can drink it black! Only place I can have the coffee black! Super chill vibes inside to great place to meet up and have a coffee.
They have the best staff friendly kind and they always remember you. And they have a totally laid-back atmosphere that I leave my house to go and spend time at
Ive been going here for quite awhile and this is an S tier coffee spot. Drive thru is convenient and all of the folks that work here are 10/10Support local damn it
This is an amazing place! Coffee is always good, the environment is cool and they staff is always 120% on point! Always the best experience
Very nice find for coffee on our trip to AZ. The staff were very nice. They have a great setup for drive thru service as well as indoor and outdoor seating. Coffee selections were good ranging from regular drip coffee to specialty espresso drinks both hot and cold, and various teas including matcha. I was a little surprised that they only out two shots of espresso in a 20oz drink, but the addition of a third provided a very reasonable strength iced latte. They offer a 32oz cup for iced/frappe drinks as well if you really need to blow your calories and caffeine through the roof. They have food items as well though we didnt sample these. Mostly your standard fare of pastries and cakes, etc.Overall, it seems like a very good operation and if your looking for your morning, midday or afternoon shots of spro I recommend it.
This place is by far the best coffee shop I’ve ever been to. I have their sticker on the back of my car and I drive it with pride because of this locations amazing attention to detail, their professionalism, their delicious foods and treats, and their willingness to always go above and beyond for all of their guests.
Best place to get coffee and tea in town. Dont go to the chain places, go here. they are super friendly and always get your order right!!!
Go here every time I head to school or clinic shifts. Great service and plenty of options for dietary restrictions.
Quality coffee products and pastries are a constant here. Options to sit inside or outside and the option to use wifi. About as good as it get.
Just a good place to get some good coffee.
Started coming here during covid, so havent been inside before. I love the coffee, food, vibe and people. But unfortunately, Im going to stop coming here as often because the orders are wrong too often. I dont think its a personnel problem, but rather a bad order taking process. It doesnt appear that the orders are entered when youre ordering. If they get that together, its a 5* coffee place and Ill start coming back more regularly.
An awesome place to sit and relax with your laptop outside and take your coffee ☕...their coffee 👌just the smell wakes ⏰you up lol
This is a fun place to meet and have a coffee.
The girl in the drive-through was so rude that I put my car in reverse and left. I’ll never know.
The best caramel Frappes on Earth! And very friendly staff!
Xtreme bean is a very cool spot. Its often crowded which is a bit of a bummer, but thats good for their business so why complain? Theres always somewhere to sit.Their staff is kind and pleasant, their selection of coffee, tea, and food is abundant. There is no shortage of options. The artful look of the place is awesome, its always nice to hang around. They have alot of shaded outdoor seating as well.Definitely my choice of coffee shop.
We tried this place yesterday and we were not impressed. First of all the staff was very nice. However I couldnt dismiss the dark and dirty feel of the store itself. My wife actually saw the backroom and It was enough for us to meet our friends somewhere else. I would be embarrassed to have friends here. I would suggest a thorough cleaning, or completely convert to drive thru.
Xtreme bean was my go-to coffee shop. They make exceptional drinks, I will give them that. However, these last few days I’ve been going Ive experienced horrible customer service. The first day I went, the barista that took my order was very rude, and also overheard her saying “ if they wanted me to make this right (a drink I ordered) they would have hired someone with more experience. “ The comment was off-putting and she evidently didn’t realize her headset was still on. The next day I went back and asked about the varieties of loaves they had available since it was on the menu. The barista who took my order told me that “ he didn’t know what I was talking about “ and that he “ never heard of the word loaf/didnt know what that is”. I would think that you would be knowledgeable about the menu because it displayed loaf ( ask about varieties). I paid for the separate orders I placed and went on my way. The next day I went I had asked if I could place two orders again. Mind you, Ive been doing so for the past two years I been going to this coffee shop. Never had an issue. The barista tells me it was the same barista that I overheard complaining a few days ago “ I rather you not (place two orders)…so what do you want to get?” It was very rude and snarky. The following day I went back and ordered my regular drink. When I pulled up to collect my item, the barista hands me an iced coffee. The drink that I ordered is a blended drink. I always order the same thing. When I noticed that the drink was iced I politely asked if he could blend it. He says “ uhmmmm yea, our machines are down and its going to take 30 minutes for it to reprogram so…sorry about that...do you want it or no?” Why didn’t you mention that when I initially ordered my drink knowing that the drink is a blended item. If a machine is down, it should be stated in the beginning before I place my order. Or mentioned after I order something that is a blended beverage. And then today when I went to order the drink, I had asked for two separate orders and the barista who took my order stated “ yea, we cant do that, you can come in and place to orders but not through the drive-thru…so what will it be?” When I pulled up to pay, she just stared at me from the behind the window which made me really uncomfortable. And then when she opened the window to collect the payment she didn’t say hi, she gave me no eye contact and I even joked around with her and said I will just drive through the drive-thru again for the second order. She stared down at the pos machine didn’t say anything, handed me my card, and closed the window. I was taken aback. This other barista opens the window and hands me my drink ( it was a gentleman), and I say thank you I appreciate it and that I will go through the drive-thru again to place a new order, the barista just looks at me and says ok with a smiley face. So I turn around and go through the drive-thru again to place an order which was the same order and the barista I just encountered says “ well we ran out of caramel sauce because I had to use the rest of it on your drink, so yea sorry we cant make that drink for you because we ran out of the sauce “ The worst part was that he had a such a snarky attitude about it. First off, you are a coffee shop, you mean to tell me that you have no backup sauces. The truth of the matter is, is that you didn’t want to make it and you were just being rude. All these incidents happen within 4 consecutive days. At the end of the day, I know you might not like your job or just don’t care about exuding customer service, however, no one is forcing you to work there. Common courtesy does not take much. And customer service should be the number 1 priority in displayed in any business aside from being knowledgeable of the menu. Which was neither demonstrated within these past experiences. Im not saying the baristas have to be as enthusiastic and helpful as the Dutch Bros coffee shops but it doesn’t take much exude decent customer service and common courtesy.
First time here, not quite the relaxing atmosphere I was looking for, the music was way too loud, but my iced latte was refreshing.
Everything Ive had from this place has been wonderful!
Pretty good coffee.. out door and indoor seating.
If I could make this zero stars, I would. Ordered food via Grubhub and my order was incorrect. I called the restaurant and the gentleman was extremely rude.I told him my order was wrong and that I want a refund. His response “the manager isn’t here today and I’m gonna draw a hard line on that refund. You’re gonna have to call Grubhub.” He went on to say dealing with Grubhub is a nightmare and that he couldn’t even say they made my order wrong that they could’ve gone in and picked up the wrong thing. Extremely rude. First and last time I will order anything from them. Or Grubhub for that matter.
Excellent service, warm welcoming, always smiley face and very clean and comfortable. Make you feel like you are in Europe.Lue, Ryan, Katie, Madi and every single person who work here is extremely nice behaved and sweet. They have huge menu for coffee and snacks. Everything is out of world.Price is very reasonable. I live in chandler, I went one time accidentally this place, now I come here at least four times in week.Best coffee place in Phoenix metro.
Its amazing!! Weve been going there for years . The coffee and frappuccino are awesome. And the large is 32oz s of goodness!!
Theyre always so friendly and kind when I come in. Ive been going here since 2015 and never had a complaint c: love the employees! The morning crew is the best crew though
I would think twice before getting any coffee or drinks here. My sister was trying to order coffee and saw 2 employees outside smoking and came back inside making coffee without washing their hands. I will not be surprised if the Food and Drug Administration shuts this place down.
Oh man they make some good coffee!! But best of all their sizes are HUGE! You totally get your moneys worth here. I am a coffee lover but often feel guilty spending so much money on it. When I go to Xtreme I dont feel so bad. They have flavors here that other coffee shops dont carry so that is another bonus. I dont think youll be disappointed!
My new favorite coffee spot
I tried the CBD cold brew and honestly wasn’t a fan. My bagel also tasted extremely burnt, even though it wasn’t, leading me to believe the toaster being used is dirty and pieces of food are burning off. The service was awesome though, and they were super nice when I let them know about the bagel. Probably would pick another place over this one in the future though.
Best coffee Ive had. Great place to relax and do work.
AMAZING. IF UOU LOVE COFFEE THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO
I almost cried. Im from Ohio where Tim Hortons is available on every street corner. I really miss getting coffee from there and Ive been trying to find something similar since I moved here. Obviously, Starbucks is terrible and Dunkin Donuts just doesnt do it for me. I just happened to stumble upon this place, read a few reviews, and ordered a Cookies n Creme Frappe. Not only was the service quick and friendly, but the frappe was amazing! Reminds me of being home! (Very similar to an Oreo Iced Capp for any Tims fans out there wondering)
The best coffee and Arizona.
I love this coffee, but I really ENJOY Space station Red Bull Fusion. The workers are friendly and appreciative. Forever customer.
New years day 1pm 12 cars in drive thru and 8 people inside but only 1 person at drive thru and 1 person at counter. Waited over 15 minutes in line. Go somewhere else unless you have all day to wait. Several people came in and left because slow line very very slow line.
I love it here! The staff is always so nice and the food is always warm and fresh ❤️
Rollo latte, iced. Nuff said. Great place to drink coffee, grab a snack, and chill out.
Great coffee drinks, hot and fast with better prices and quality than Starbucks.
Friendly service with a relaxed and cozy aesthetic (especially at night!). The food is great and and reasonably-priced for the most part. One unique item they have on their menu are red bull infusions (Red bulls infused with flavored syrups basically). Unfortunately, flavors are limited and so far they only have 3 flavors on their menu. Anyways, they have a printer if you need to print something, free wifi, a bookshelf filled with various books to read, and a piano. As for studying and doing work, I personally wouldnt 100% recommend it here. It can get pretty crowded, and you cant guarantee yourself a good spot.
This place is great! Everytime I get a sandwich and coffee from here my girlfriend gives me extra love 😏.The service and food are both excellent. You dont have to trust me though, just head over there and theyll show you whats up.
Love! If you see a huge line it’s worth the wait. Highly recommend the toffee coffee frap and the jalapeño bagel with jalapeño cream cheese.
This place has a neat atmosphere and a good drink selection. I love tea and they serve their tea extra hot which does tend to over brew the tea. I would say that this place is a bit average though. The restaurant and the bathrooms could be cleaner and the walls could use a good coat of new paint. The great thing is that they open early and stay open late. Not many places in the area are open this early or stay open this late. It has a good quiet atmosphere for studying or getting work done.
Coffee was warm and returned and got a fresh cup of Joe. AWESOME.
Best bagel sandwiches in Phoenix! Im not much of a coffee guy tbh, but the chai latte is to die for!
Great coffee and dirty chai!
Great carrot cake
Always my go to coffee place! Been going here for years!
Good coffee and snacks.
Love this place. They have fresh food, bagels, muffins, mmmmmm more. And a line of drinks for those who love the stuff. I dont drink coffee but I got a Mocha X sans the mocha! It was chocolatey good.
Went today through their drive thru and the man at the register making and handing out drinks had no mask on. I get masks have now been made political, but put on a mask... especially if you’re greeting and serving customers.
Amazing coffee place, bigger than most of the other coffee places in the area, and mostly quiet. If thats not quiet enough for you then they even got a really quiet study room! Ive tried most of thier menu over the years of coming here, and can say most of the menu items are very good tasting. And to top it all off they got great live music on weekend days.
Great service, great food and great coffee! Always a pleasure to stop here!
