Ulta staff were so unprofessional with a disabled woman last night. They refused to refund her with her returns with original receipts. They insisted on store credit even though the items were bought few days earlier. Don’t like the staff over there in Tempe marketplace. All snooty selfish and they don’t care about customers at all. They refused to give me a name of staff who purely gave me attitude for returning 3 little items. Took photos instead. The manager is a little white Karen named Sharon. They belittle and give attitude to the disabled women who love makeup.
The rating is considering many factors. Some might be a little better, some not quite as good. The selection is excellent and widely varied. Prices include staff who actually help you. Each visit there is a high number of staff. My impression is they each have one or more strong areas of knowledge and experience. On a prior visit a person began with us and then asked a specialist to assist us.Same on priot. (3 recent visits. I feel they are well trained in assisting customers. Each person is smooth and persuasive.Today the person we started with asked D to help with peel off face masks. He recommended what he personally uses and his scin plus a secondpossible choice. Obviously good results but most impressive was his understanding of ingredients. Non harmful. The prices are highly competitive but are actually a much better choice. How much is good and sincere advice. The only thing that might be thought about is qualifying.With D I asked, why? He was well prepared. I also appreciate having males who are well versed professionals. If I had an interest in cosmetics, as a male it would be helpful to see results on Ulta male staff. I never have been well dressed, am old and out of shape. It has no bearing on treatment by staff. They work through their ears and perceived needs.The person I go with is simply dressed, handles a number of products but no one follows either of us around. Being the largest they probably have security cameras. Staff are plentiful but strictly available. Today I happened to see many staff assisting a wide variety of shoppers. Since it was the third good recent visit I wanted to do a review that mirrors my respect and appreciation. Each cashier was excellent and reminded me of specialty shops where the add to the shopping experience. Today there seem to be numerous negatives and I personally take enjoyment in observing a positive, successful, vibrant business. We looked for something. I had no issue with their not having what was required. It was impressive how polished they are. I looked at Fashion Square which strengthened my regard for this Ulta.
I became very uncomfortable while shopping here. I was looking for lipstick made with human and bio friendly ingredients. I was constantly being asked if I needed any help. I did ask when I needed the help. I was taking my time shopping and deciding on what to buy. I guess that made me look suspicious. However, at one point an associates was just standing next to me, eye me as if I was going to take something. I wanted to be left alone. Then I was told I can go to Target to find what I was looking for. Look Ulta associates I understand youre just doing your job but youre overbearingly annoying. I can assure you most of us just come in to shop. Not to steal.
Ulta Beauty is one of my favorite stores. The experience today was priceless all of the sales associates were warm, welcoming, friendly and ready to assist me find everything I needed. I especially appreciated how knowledgeable the sales associate was that helped me. He made my shopping experience quick and easy. I found my Ulta Ill be back again!
This is my least favorite Ulta location. Ive never had a good experience with the employees. They do say hi when you come in, but after that it feels like youre in their way. The layout of the store is so different from other locations that I needed help finding a product. After approaching one of the employees, she ignored me for about 20 seconds before sighing and asking if I needed anything. This is a typical occurrence and its a little disappointing. Giving three stars because they do have a decent amount of products.
I requested a moisturizing SPF for everyday and the only they wanted to show me was everything over $50+ and when I told her my price point they wanted nothing to do with me ($20-$30). This has happened, before when I was looking for foundation, get your commission, but please remember people are people regardless of their income.

I Wasnt dressed nice and was not wearing make up. The employees kept following me around making sure I do not steal. making it uncomfortable to shop. Also, too many employees aggressively asking if I need help multiple timesand getting made when I say no thank you. I knew what I came for, I was going to drop around 300 dollars today but with the annoying experience. Ive decided its not worth it. Instead, I went to my favorite Ulta ( not this one!!) Ive been to other locations. I shop at Ulta ALOT and this one was by far is the most unpleasant location yet. Not sure if they are trained to only trust people that look nice and are white but since I didnt fit the criteria they lost my business. It honestly is the worst experience I had at an ulta
Very rude employees.This lady who I think is the manager was very rude. My friend and I were looking at the shape tape concealer and we had the stick out of the bottle just looking at it to see if it would match the skin. Never once did we put in on our skin. We also didn’t find any swatch testers, and the bottle said “try me”. The manager walked up to us and said “we just took off our tapes on the bottles. But you cannot use it on your skin. You need to find swatches if you’re gonna use it.” She said this very rudely. She also didn’t even offer to help us. After she had said that I said “okay thank you.” She replied with “umm okay”. I will not be coming back.
I am new to this whole beauty thing and felt pretty overwhelmed coming in. My skin has been freaking out since moving here and I needed new everything. Briana was really amazing. When I came in they were incredibly busy and even though she had a lot to do/juggling a lot she still took the time to get to know me and my needs and I cannot thank her enough. All of my other experiences with Ulta have been pretty bad. I will be coming back to her, she is so knowledgeable!!! Thanks again for the great and refreshing change in customer service.

Ive noticed that the level of service I receive varies on whether I go in with or without makeup on which can be a little frustrating. Good products and good help when they choose to be helpful at least. I had scheduled a haircut a couple days ago and they called me today 10 minutes before my appointment as I was driving there to cancel since it was double booked. Is that really not something that I could have been told about earlier? I had to block out my day for this and take off of work. No apology just cancelation right before and asked if I wanted to reschedule but not great customer service. Ridiculous. Hopefully other people have better experiences.
The store was clean and organized. Plenty of helpful staff to help you find what youre looking for. Dont forget to clip the digital coupon if ones available. I did and saved $3.50!

The customer service here is horrible. I witnessed an associate not willing to help a guy out who was trying to return an item. He had a receipt but the associate was throwing the worse attitude at him and when he requested for a manager. She wouldn’t get her/him for him. She said she was the lead cashier like her title overrides asking for help. I didn’t catch her name because I literally got out of line because of how rude their “lead cashier” was to this guy. Please tell your employees “they don’t have to work here if they don’t want to.”

Too many strong smells, not following safety recommendations, most of the staff cant help you find what youre looking for. Thankfully theyve gotten better with online orders but you can FORGET ABOUT customer service if you ever have to cancel or return an order.

I don’t ever write reviews however the lack of customer service and professionalism at this store is of extremely low quality you would think that they would hire some delightful pleasant women to give is quality service but this particular store is all over the place and it’s such a shame that the problem here is the manager’s especially Sabrina she needs to get educated in the mange net field and do a better job of training her cashiers.
I came in into the store today and ended up spending almost $700 on make up, but I was profiled the entire time in there by all the employees because I was wearing sweatpants and a baggy shirt with my hair in a messy bun. I was looking at a pallet and one of the alarms went off and they came over and rudely grabbed it from me and I told them I was just looking at it and it went off and all the employees sat around staring at us talking about us right in front of us and the entire time I was in the store was followed around. Maybe you should train your employees not to judge people based off of somebody’s appearance. I should be able to go into Ulta on my day off since I work as a full-time MUA without being profiled that I’m going to “steal”.To add: I didn’t even bring my purse in or any bag with me, just my wallet.

One day a lipgloss was on sale an customer inquired about the same lipgloss but different finish was on sale. The manager advised it is not on sale. When the customer walked away the MANAGER YES THE MANAGER! Started talking about her rudely to the other employees on her walkee in front of me right next to her. As a customer I thought it was unprofessional and disgusting especially as a manager who is supposed to set a positive example for the beauty advisors however she is creating an atmosphere of negativity as she demonstrates poor customer service! She should no better! She is definitely the manger ( blonde long hair) for other customers beware because they smile in your face and are rude the very second you turn away
Please train your employees not to discriminate customers based on how they look. I came in and was followed around and was asked 5 different times if I needed help and they kept staring like I was gonna steal. I felt so uncomfortable I just left... I was looking at makeup and an employee was just standing close to me doing nothing just watching me ??
I accidentally grabbed the tester and the girl at the register told me to put the tester back and get the actual product. That doesnt seen like very good customer service. I would appreciate it if the associate could do that instead. It was close to the register, it was a NYX lippy.Also she wasnt friendly at all.It seemed I bothered her for her telling me that I needed to go back.And she asked if I wanted a receipt emailed and I said sure.Well I never received the email.As a result my points were never applied to my acct. No email, no proof of purchase.I suggest everyone get a copy of the receipt if they want to verify their purchase and points.
I walked in here not knowing absolutely anything about Ultas skincare products and I was looking for something that could brighten up my complexion. However, from the moment I walked through the door from the moment I left about an hour and a half later, I did not get acknowledged by a single employee here. Not even a hello or a welcome to Ulta or whatever. I dont know, maybe Im being a bit dramatic. I was overwhelmed by the choice of moistures and toners they carry that I ended up leaving empty handed because I didnt want to drop the money on a product that I knew nothing about! This experience was very disappointing. There were so many women who walked by me and a simple can I help you find anything? wouldve meant a lot to me. Thanks, for nothing.
I did an order for pickup for here and the app said curbside unavailable so I went inside for my order where the line was like 8 people long & was told I need to wait in the regular line for my order. So what’s the point of ordering online then? Cancelling my order & I’ll just get it somewhere else.

Totally insane, they only allow you to use one gift card per time online! That means if you have a little amt of balance in mutiple gift cards you just cant combine them together.!! You have to spend extra cash each time you use the small balance in each of your gift card! Its the first time I buy gift card from them and will be the last time I shop with them. Sephora is my where to go when it comes to skincare
I reccomend you do not trust the Ulta brand - buyer beware! I have spent thousands with Ulta over the past 4 years, went to countless hair appointments, recommended this company to friends who have bought from them, and recommended friends to apply here who worked for Ulta.Only recently have I had my first issue with them - ulta could have used any of their competitors quality assurance programs but does not do this because they DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER. This is not a company you can trust, one day when u need them based on all the trust you had in them, will not care where they delivered a 156$ order, all they will say is sorry for your inconvenience. After years of dealing with this company I am beyond disappointed and let down, will be using Sephora or Amazon.From someone who invests in my overall makeup, hair, body, and skincare I consider relationships from who I spend whatever money it takes to provide for a need - ulta cannot be trusted with this trust. Its very unfortunate - please dont make the same mistake I did

Went to this location to get my wife a bath bomb (except this one is for the shower). I came to this specific location because online it stated this product was at this location. The other 4 locations in the area said out of stock. As soon as I walked in I was approached and asked if I needed assistance. I said not at the moment as attempted to locate the item myself. About 1.32 minutes later a different associate asked if needed help. Instead of saying I was OK and continue to look myself, I decided to break this obvious never ending cycle and asked if she could locate the product for me. She could not immediately find it. I showed her what it looked like online. She could still not find it. She left to get a scanner to locate it. Came back and scanner did not work. Left again to get a different scanner. During this time a separate associate came up and asked if I needed help. I said no thanks. Came back with scanner just to tell me they no longer carry the product. I asked why it showed online in stock. I got no answer. She left an I continue to find a different product. Another completely different associate came up to me (this would make 4 if you are counting) and I just left.

First off,there was a lack of employees on the floor!The ones that were workingignored me while I was searching for a list of items in the so-called Prestige floor.When going to use the restroom,I was disgusted to see how a so-called beauty store could even begin to have such a mess all over.I did not even end up using the restroom.I gave the store a last chance,until I was rudely scanned up and down by a prestige Beauty Manager named Briana who approached me more like she wanted me out of the store and talked condescendingly.I am a woman of stature and a CEO,not really sure why I was treated with disdain. I saw her attitude towards me and employees and was terribly offput.When I saw the disorder of the floor stock and lack there of,I lost all respect for Tempes Ulta.Needs new management.I will not be returning.Worst Beauty Store experience.
Seth is absolutely amazing. I’m so big about skin care and have not had the patience or time to get my routine together. With how many different products there are in the world and how long I’ve been experimenting it can get frustrating. He helped me understand the order of what products you should do in your skin care routine, what will work with my skin, and the products he likes best too. He sat me down and did a facial for me and took the time to get to know me and my skin and help me figure out what will work for me. Personality is great and such a lovely person to get to know for a few minutes. Go for Seth. Love love love

Horrible service when making appointments the first time I scheduled and showed up “they didn’t have me on the books” the second appointment I made, the stylist cancelled an hour before. Very disappointing that they don’t take peoples time or appointments seriously. I never leave reviews but sadly I’ve never been so disappointed with a salon in my life!!! The worst ulta salon around I loved my old Ulta before I moved!!!

Brought my 4-year-old daughter here for a quick trim and Marcella was a dream to work with. It was all about my daughter and she felt like quite the star getting the grown up salon treatment. Price points are fair, staff are friendly and helpful, and I love the diversity of style between the staff. Always a pleasure to come in here.
Absolutely worst experience I’ve ever had at a salon. I had bright blonde hair, used a red overtone and then had red box dye in it for a day. I went into ulta because as I was browsing online I saw that they had a 20% off for first time visitors so I decided to go there, thinking that since it’s a beauty place they MUST be a good place to go and the discount was just a bonus. I went in with no expectations because I know how box dye can be. I said I wanted to do my left side of my hair dark and the right side blonde only IF it was a possibility and they said yes. After sitting in the chair for 4 1/2 hours my hair was the half and half I wanted but the blonde looked horrible. I truly wish I could post a picture of how bad it was on here. It was hard to tell at first when it was curled but after I showered once (using it’s a 10 shampoo and conditioner that was color safe and recommended by ulta) I saw my hair straight and the toner was so uneven. I went into a different hair salon to get a second opinion and get a consultation to get it fixed and she said word for word “you’re the 3rd person this week to come and get their hair fixed by ulta” she also could have taken my money and fixed it herself, but she said for the $400 I paid for it that it was unacceptable and was an easy fix. She gave me the exact words to tell the stylist of what toner to use and everything. I called to set up an appointment and they told me to fix it, they were going to charge me again! And along with that my “20% off” was only for one half house so it resulted in being a total of only $8.00 off. I then had to go spend another $100 getting my hair fixed at a different salon and now it looks excellent. I am beyond disappointed and it was a waste of money.
I went in, just a scared, confused man trying to find the right shade of foundation to wear in my play. A lovely young woman asked if I needed assistance, which I did. I was, in fact, in desperate need of help. Powdered? Liquid? Creme? So many questions. Luckily, they were happy to help me find exactly what I needed. God bless you Ulta... God. Bless. You.
I dont look like your typical Ulta Shopper but I will sometimes go in for my partner and get her facial stuff. There was an extremely large selection everything is laid out perfectly so you would be able to find what youre looking for immediately. The open concept made it so much easier and fun for me to shop. The reason I say I dont look like a typical Ultra Shopper is because typically I will get less customer service in some stores, the women in the store were extremely kind and didnt make me feel funny for shopping around and looking at all of the different things they had. And greatly appreciated that!

Tons of makeup artists there now. Plenty of kits and specials. But the store is overstocked and hard to navigate if few people are there. On a busy Saturday, I grabbed what I needed and didnt continue to browse. It was a circus but the checkout ladies were helpful and friendly.
The most choices of any beauty products plus I LOVE my hair stylist Marcella! I have paid far more and no one has the product knowledge and cutting and coloring skills as Marcella.
Best service and professional friendly staff with expert advice. Knowledgeable about earth friendly products. I dont wear foundation or cake make up on eyeliner mascara and lip gloss to enhance what God gave me know and then. Unfortunately I wish my eyes stood out on their own, but with blonde eyelashes, eyebrows you can barely see them without a little something... And moisturizing hair and skin is a must in Arizona and they have the best protection products for skin and hair. I recently went into Ulta to replace my makeup collection of several years and decided to go back to Clinique. The young lady, Kim was awesome, she was so patient with me, and figured the correct shades of every thing I needed to buy. I couldnt afford everything, this trip,but she made sure I was going to have samples to try for my next purchase. This was the best experience I have ever had to make a purchase that worked for me. Kim is an asset to this company.😊😊😊
I’m guessing they don’t read these reviews. It’s sad because I used to work at this location as a student and we were definitely held to higher standards that what I’ve seen. The staff just doesn’t seem interested in the customers that come in and when I’ve called (last time I must have called 3-4 times) in the middle of a Thursday, no one answered. This is why I would drive farther and spend more at Sephora. At least I’m getting service
Came in today for something I have saved my money and points for and the cashier made things so difficult. It was so frustrating I walked out. I will never shop this location again. Something that should be so easy was not clearly communicated. I ordered online was able to do what I wanted (thank god), but she never said I online would be the best option for my situation. If you dont know what to do ask someone! The sign did not say there was a limit. There was no sign saying which colors were part of the sale so of course I grabbed ones that werent when it could have been clearly labeled. Bad all around...
The only down side to this location is its always packed with oblivious people. However theyre never outwardly rude, just seem to stand in the way without realizing theyre blocking entire aisles. The staff at this location is on point, helpful and very friendly.

Customer service always hits with me. Went yesterday because I am out of my Estee lauder doublewear. Someone from the front got another woman from the registers to help me find a shade in foundation, because of the Covid stuff there is no sampling of the products. She took her time and didnt rush me. I appreciated it.

Came to grab a few stocking stuffers for my daughters. I was overwhelmed and out of my element. As soon as I entered I was bombarded by a smorgasbord of sights and smells. I had associates approaching me from behind, asking if I was finding everything okay. At the register I was asked for my full name, phone number, and address. I might as well have filled out a credit application with job history, social security number, and personal references. Unreal. Also couldn’t tell if the cashier was human or robot, so thick was the makeup and dull the personality.

Tori said she was a manager yet yelled in my face telling me a couldnt do two different transactions with a coupon. I asked to see policy since every other location plus this one has never said that before. She said Im not looking for that and Im not risking my job. I then asked for customer service # and she said she wont give it. I then ask the closing manager Emily to give it to me and she did. I called and made a complaint against Toris customer service and requested them to watch video to show her slamming her hand down on counter and leaning over computer to let me know shes not going to do another transaction. She called her GM Mike to let him know as I was also on phone with customer service and he had Emily honor my coupon.Tori was willing to risk the company $30 just for a $3.50 off coupon. Bad service in my opinion!!! Emily as the closing manager didnt have the training skills to step up and control the situation. She continues to let Toris voice to escalate . She said she cant do anything about Tori until she hears what Mike has to say (guy Tori called saying he was GM).If ulta is hiring managers to give customer service and gain sales for the company why was I yelled at for using a coupon for a $30 sale?
Need more products for men.,i.e. colognes, soaps, and general good hygiene products. Contrary to popular belief, its men will spend a lot of money to improve our appearance and smell. All in all Ulta is pretty good. Competitively priced products that you can buy without the need of a Beautician and/or Cosmetologist license.
Very nice ladies that work at this ULTA that know their products! Its overwhelming for me to sometimes walk in there because of the huge selection they have of makeup! Which is not a bad thing at all. I asked one of the girls to sample some of the product to make sure it match my skin tone and I liked the colors I was picking and she did this for me for free! They also have appointments that you can set up to have your makeup done professionally by them. I also found out that you can attend classes or certain release parties for brands that they show you how to apply, from beginners to Advanced. I recommend this location to anyone, the customer service went above and beyond.

This is a typical Ulta Beauty store. Well stocked and the employees are always available to answer any questions or help find specific items. Employees seem knowledge about current make-up trends and its nice having someone around to get a second opinion from.
Went in with highlights done about 6 weeks ago that were way too light for my darker brown hair. I had read up on Demi permanent glosses that will darken your highlights and leave the rest of your hair the warm brown color I had. The girl showed me a Carmel color and told me we could get that result fir the highlights.. let’s do it!Well, my highlights are complete gone. My hair is almost jet black and has that purple sheen in the sun you get from cheap box dyes.Read up some more on this, and she left it in way too long and chose a way to dark number... obvious in the results.I guess what really bothered me most was when she saw that she had completely removed my highlights, she didn’t even acknowledge it. And the woman who booked me with this stylist is booking more challenging “fix” jobs with a green stylist. Very unprofessional. I’ll never go back.
I really like this ulta! The staff are super nice and friendly, and a lot of times very knowledgeable about certain things. Helped me and my mom out when we were wondering what skincare items my mom should get! Wish I got the name of the employee who helped us but she was a nice older lady (about mid forties to fifties with short white/blondish hair).Every time I come here, I never feel like I’m being watched or judged as if I were stealing something which is what a lot of makeup stores do so badly. Even come here with my friends (college aged kids including me).It’s also a plus that since this Ulta is right at a very popular place, they’re often one of the selected stores for certain brands and stuff which is cool! Had gotten shade matched perfectly, may try out the brow bar and the store is quite big tbh.Love going here!
I love this store because it has great customer service and its always so nice and clean! I love it when I go inside a store and smell something really good. I have been to other ultas where they would not smell as good, or not smell good at all. It gets a bit busy after 5pm but parking does get hectic on a Friday or Saturday night.

I would love to give this place five stars yet ever time my wife comes home she is so upset with all the assistance not given and all the staff including manager gave her a hard time over prices that they gave her to begin with. Its like a war on make up.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! Do not hire young girls that are entitled!! Absolutely rude!! Have owned my own store for 20 years & would fire on the spot someone that made my customers feel less than!! Off to AMAZON to shop!!
This is a great cosmetics store. My girlfriend spent a good, long hour here searching through the huge variety of products, from eye liner to nail polish. And they even have chairs around the store for guys to sit down when they dont have the energy to keep going!The service here was also friendly and polite and it was an in and out once we picked our purchases.
