We walk in and the guy says he’ll be with us in a minute. My partner just wanted to know where the bathroom was so we have to interrupt him.After we walk around the lot by ourselves, we find a pickup we like and go back inside to ask if we can test drive. We stand there in the center of the room looking at people to see if they’ll come to us and ask if we found what we were looking for. Mind you, there are plenty of people in there to help us. We we to guys looking directly at us and laughing, possibly not at us but looking in our direction doing so. What else is there to assume? I have to go up to a man to tell him we would like to test drive a vehicle. He says we are third in line. And I’m looking around and I see all these men just standing there talking to each other and not customers so I’m wondering is there only one man I this facility selling cars!I get it, it’s Saturday. But when does that make it okay to not provide excellent customer service? Especially, when customers are buying a vehicle. Something of major value that essentially lead to a good reference. However, that is not the case this time.

Shoutout to Kane Reid, made my purchasing experience, as they say, hassle free. Or as hassle free as it could have been. I went in thinking I was going to shut down, came out with a very decent car, at a very decent price. Runs great and everything. 10/10 would shop again.

This was, by far, the best experience Ive had purchasing a vehicle, in the 35 years Ive been driving. Rocky was amazing. Very friendly, and actually gives attention to the buyer.The last 2 vehicles I purchased, were nightmares, to say the least. I walked into both with internet listings from their site. One took 4 hours, the other was spread over 2 days. (different dealers, different states)NOT the case, at CarMax. I walked in, as they were opening, and was promptly greeted by Rocky. I showed her the listing I was interested in, she took down some info, set my car up for a trade estimate, and handed me the keys to test drive. When I got back, told her we wanted the truck and she immediately went to work, still keeping her friendly demeanor. As I was putting my signature on the final piece of paper, I glanced at my watch. I was amazed, it had only been an hour and a half. Would definitely recommend.

It was time to sell my wifes Mini she bought new in 2011. We are moving and she needed a larger automobile. We decided to sell her Mini to CARMAX. The car was in excellent condition and she received a fair price from CM. The selling process was clean and direct - perfect. We were very happy with the price and the process.

All I needed was a purchase offer from them but it took over an hour and 6 different transfer to get someone to get it for me… then finally when someone finally understood what I needed they wanted me to give them numbers of different things when all I needed them to do is send me a purchase offer… that’s it

Buyer Beware!!!Kane-Sales Person and Bryon (Mgr.?) Lied to me regarding vehicle availability. Late morning I called to verify vehicle would be ready for test drive: told CM was awaiting a battery to be delivered but assured me vehicle would be ready for 5:30 pm pick-up. Ha! Received text around 5:22 pm telling me vehicle would not be available.Had financing set to purchase after test drive! Wont deal with this location ever again! If you do, its on you. Much more detail but you get the gist.

My faith in used car salesmen has been so far restored. My son and I had a wonderful experience in replacing his car over the weekend. There was none of the back and forth BS with a manager. There was no slick salesman double talk. We left there in a nice car and felt we receiced good value for our time and money.

I came to sell my vehicle after receiving a great online offer. The process was quick, easy, and everyone was very helpful and friendly.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. I could never support a business that hires employees that destroy families. I sincerely question the integrity of a person that would have no qualms in being with a married woman with 2 kids at home. If Jacob Valdez has lack of conscience enough to devastate a spouse and 2 children, how could anyone trust him to sell them a car?

My initial experience with the sales process was pretty good. The salesman was responsive, etc. However, AFTER the sale, I learned that my tires were six years old. I bought a 2014 FJ Cruiser, and took it to the local Toyota dealership. Everything was great, except the mechanic told me its actually unethical to commercially-sell any vehicle with tires that old and/or worn.I called Carmax about replacing my tires, and suddenly my salesman couldnt do anything about it. I had to replace all four tires at $1600, which Carmax shouldve replaced, by default, before they even offered the vehicle for sale.Worse, from a simple customer-service standpoint, since my vehicle had no owners manual, I was promised a $200 allowance to buy one online. I had to buy the manual, and the jacket, piecemeal on eBay, which was only $74, well within the promised limit. Carmax actually refused to pay for the $16 jacket, penny-pinching to the extreme, and I actually had to argue back and forth, over their pitiful cheapness, before they, finally, begrudingly ponied-up the $16.After spending $51,000+, with $27,000 down, I expected a helluva lot better service than that.Sure, their smiling faces are great, when theyre waiting to get your money ... but the absolute lack of graciousness (and even ethics) becomes evident really fast when they owe you some money in return.In the end, my FJ Cruiser is great, but thats thanks to Toyota as the manufacturer and the low mileage. If I had it to do it over, in hindsight, I wouldve shopped from a Toyota dealership directly, as they have higher standards in their customer care.

What a wonderful selling experience. We had a truck that no longer suited our life style and we needed to dispose of it. I reached out to the dealership who treated us like an inconvenience and made us a derisory offer. So we tried CarMax instead. This was a totally different story. They mad a good offer on line, and set up the appointment. We were greeted cordially, shown to the finance area, and told of the process. Everything happened as described and in less than an hour we left CarMax with a check. I cannot imagine a better process, and I completely recommend CarMax.

Horrible experience at CarMax. I finally found a car I was extremely interested in and it was in California. I paid to get it shipped to the CarMax here in Tucson, AZ since I found out I was pre-approved I thought well why not. Anyways the car was in Tucson for about two weeks, they still didn’t have it ready. I sent my pay stubs, references all online and because it took a whole month to even go see the car (getting it shipped took over a week in a half.) Then they finally contact us saying that it’s ready and when I would like to set up an appointment. I live an hour in a half away. My family and I go at the scheduled time and we didn’t get attended until an hour of being there. So finally Antonio comes up to us and tries getting someone to help us instead of just helping us out himself, and sure enough he did. We had to reapply for this specific car, and finally we pull out the pay stubs and now there is a problem with the dates of my pay period. I get paid every two weeks and I make more than enough to be able to finance the vehicle. Didn’t even bother to send in the pay stubs to the bank because “they’re not going to accept it.” So he says if we bring in some bank statements that shows how much money you bring in a month than that would help. We leave very sad, and the next day I end up calling CarMax financing team and the lady explained to me that it would help my situation. I set another appointment for the next day but Antonio made sure to contact us just to let us know that yeah those bank statements may help but won’t. I truly felt he didn’t want to help us out at all. He didn’t go out of his way and put the effort in to at least try and help my family and I out. The whole team at this store didn’t even bother to go out of there way and ask if we needed any help or anything after waiting for a whole hour. So, the end result is that I waited a whole entire month, just to be told that the bank won’t accept any of my pay stubs and sure enough I didn’t end up with a car. I’m very dissatisfied with CarMax and everyone else there and I don’t want to ever go back. I will never recommend this place for anyone just a waste of time.

This was hands down, THE BEST car selling and buying experience ever. We have horror stories about the other guys, but this was not one of those. From the moment walked in the door, until the moment we left, it was pleasant, not stressful, nor demeaning. I drove 2.5 hours to get a car here. I told before I went that I only had to put a certain amount down. When I got there I was told I had to put more down and needed up making a trip for nothing and walked out of the store with no car.

Victoria was absolutely professional and was being very helpful, but I got disconnected from your end after 20 minutes on the call with no resolution to the problem.

I made an appointment and came in to have my car appraised. It didnt take long and Eileen attended me that day. She was great. I received a fair offer but ended up selling the car myself. Still pleased with my experience!

The staff is great. Very friendly. However, the service is questionable. I went to take my car for appraisal. It was a seamless procee and I was given a dollar amount. My car is a lease and they asked me so they knew. The amount the offered was enough to cover pay off. So I made arrangements to take two hours off work which is not an easy process. To find out at the end that they never mention that they ask for a payoff amount and that amount is totally different from the one I received and I would be in hole 3000.00. My issue is that they never mentioned this possibility to me. I would definitely not have wasted my time there. I will not be dealing with car max in future

My wife and I were RELUCTANT to shop at CarMax because I thought it would be a typical used car lot experience! I was totally surprise to find how well we were treated and the professional approach of all the personnel that took care of us. I have been affiliated in various ways with the car industry and I found CarMax as the best experience I have had buying a car. The people are caring, responsive and well prepared to help. The car we bought was taken to my local mechanic and he gave it very high marks for the care of the vehicle. You want a great customer service experience and buy a quality vehicle, I highly recommend you shop at CarMax.

Every person I dealt with was polite and personable and every question I had was answered exactly as I had hoped. The 24-hour test drive is a wonderful idea and greatly appreciated. Two issues came up: the tires were worn more than I liked, and there was a slight smokey smell in the cabin. They replaced the tires, replaced the cabin filter and did a full interior clean. All to my satisfaction. My salesman Alex was just great as were the rest of the staff from finance to the mechanics. I have always despised shopping for cars and had dreaded it, but this was a breeze. I love my Audi Q5! No one else in town had one with the great features mine has.

I have been a CarMax supporter from the day they moved into the Tucson market. Luckily it is only 1/2 hour away, but it could be 2 hours away and I would still go there. I have purchased two vehicles from them, and I have sent at least 6 of my musician friends there as well. Great salesmen who want to actually help you find that vehicle you need or want with no pressure. Very Fairly priced, beautiful condition, well maintained vehicles. Going elsewhere is simply a waste of your time and effort.

I have purchased several cars from various dealerships over the years. Car Max, by far, was the easiest, low pressure, simple purchasing experience that I have ever experienced. With the exception of a couple of issues with the vehicle we purchased, the process was enjoyable. The vehicle price was more than competitive, and the service department corrected the issues with the car.

Came in to see about getting into a vehicle to test drive and fully capable of buying or doing monthly payments around 1000$ per month. Have insurance but im under a family name paying insurance of 200 dollars plus my other vehicle payment of helping out. Sales rep said sorry cant allow me to test drive a vehicle thats in there lot of what i want to get to. But its okay lost a good customer that would be good with them and been there many times. Bye worst experienxce and there carmax care or extended warranty doesnt cover nothing if anything with motor or trans go out. Not worth the extra 250 ontop of the payment plan. Just do the monthly thats it. Just a fyi

I had an extra car sitting in my driveway that was drivable and not in use. I decided to drive to Carmax and see if they would offer me a fair deal. I had never been there before but the first thing I noticed as I walked in the door was the cleanliness of the building was outstanding, and the friendly greeting I received. The evaluation was fast and the offer was fair. As I waited for my check to be printed I looked around the show room floor and their cars were fairly priced and very clean. Give this place a try and they earned my respect.

They sold me a 2017 Nissan Maxima with oil over filled and then retracted the deal cause the motor had sludge in it, and had me choose a different one. Purchasing a car right now is already frustrating enough as is working full time but having to do it 2 times with the second vehicle purchase taking twice as long is just something to consider when choosing where to buy a car. CarMax does have great deals on cars that’s why I’m not giving them a 1 star, but that’s all I’m gonna say about the Tucson location.

Drove my car over and one of their appraisers came out to evaluate it in person, which passed with flying colors.They actually decided their original appraisal was off by $1200 in my favor so they bumped it up - my car is rather unique not too many on the road and in high demand. Worked with someone at their business desk to do the remaining paperwork so they can cut me a check. After waiting for about an hour I noticed that someone in the back decided to take over my “file” as he was pacing back and forth as if he ran the joint -I told myself this was likely due to the amount of the sales price which was pretty high so I went along with it.At any rate the guy who took over my file decided to start a questioning the whole transaction and really started to scrutinize it all including my clean Arizona title.Since I paid it off recently it was only about a week after the MVD printed and mailed my title. In case your wondering, in Arizona you can now only receive a printed copy if you go online and request it as they are now an electronic title state. The guy who took over the process was curious why I got my title only a week ago to which I told him the car is no longer for me and I am looking to move on from it, I thought that was pretty clear by now.He then replied that the state will allow owners to “cancel” a title within 30 days of a printed version and reissue in their name in the event a seller decides to cancel a transaction - so I replied that’s nice to know but how does that apply to my transaction?He said they were not able to continue as it’s only been about a week since the state printed the title - and to come back in one month for another appraisal.What the heck?I didn’t argue rather took my keys, paper title, and left the location completely puzzled. It only occurred to me after I left that he was trying to save the day by making up a story to back out of the transaction. I went home to do some light research and could not find anything about what he was taking about from the state, so this must have been some company policy he made up on the fly.I went to carvana.com to do the same thing and they came out 48 hours later and gave me more anyway.Waste of time, they will make anything up on the spot, including this silly explanation if it doesn’t benefit them.Go somewhere else! Prices are way too high on their lot anyway..

Bought a 2015 charger rt from them. Day 1 the brakes squealed. Brought it to them and they said they “fixed” it. 20 minutes after driving it off the lot it started squeal again. Brought it to a shop I trust and they said no work was done and the brakes were really low. Had them do the work instead of Carmax. Now it doesn’t squeak. Their customer service rep told me that I have to make sure the techs due their job! Buyer beware. Will not do business with them again.
