Sign says walk ins, no wait. Had to make an appointment for following day. I’ve noticed oil spots in my driveway so I looked up underneath my truck to discover the oil filter was loose and there’s no crush washer on my drain plug. Not thrilled after spending nearly $90 for a simple oil change

Had an issue with my car, I brought it in and they figured it out and even took me in the shop area and showed me the problem. I was in and out in no time. Great people working there. Will go back and will recommend.

I went in for tire replacement. They replaced all four tires and the car drives great. However, they left a lug nut off of my front passenger side tire. Makes me think they didnt bother to check or properly torque each lug nut.

This place is a scam. First off when I went there a few years back they charged me $600 to do my two front breaks. Well a few days ago my brother ( I forgot to tell him not to go there) took his truck up there to get a clutch line bled and front breaks. (2rotors2break pads). They totally robbed him. $1300 almost $1400 later it still don’t run right. Then he called them and They said bring it back up we’ll check it out. No thanks. Shady mechanics for sure. Don’t go there people they are scammers.

This is the only place we will take our cars too. They treat you like family and not just a number. Great prices and will do a full “check up” on your car before you leave to make sure you and your loved ones are safe to go before you leave. Thank you for such great hospitality while we are there. We will always drive the almost hour and a half to this location even when we have one 5 minutes away from our house. We prefer this location.

The gentleman that did my brake line replacement did an outstanding job! They were very prompt upfront and what they were doing and extremely professional. I would highly recommend anyone to go here! And I forgot to add the price was extremely reasonable! I expected to pay much more.

I think for me, Monros was very communicative in regards to all of the questions I had .Even before we ever met, or secured an appointment. They were also helpful in suggestions that I should do prior to our appointment, so that we could narrow-down the issue before I arrived.They were so honest and helpful, and actually told me that I did not need to have the work done right away.They gave me the option, as well as future recommendations for future upkeep. The Techs are very knowledgeable, and solutions orientated. Not to mention an amazing down-to-earth disposition!The Automotive Tech even cleaned up the garage because of the coolant leak. I wasnt expecting that from a Tech! The customer service, professionalism, and the respect that was provided, was very impressive! I highly recommend Monro Muffler for any of your Automotive needs!!!

We live in Michigan and are down here visiting relatives. Had our oil changed before we left home. When we got here today the car shook when we were sitting at the stop light. We stopped in MONRO in Urbana and they found a hose had come loose on the engine. They put it back on and car runs great now. The staff was friendly and helpful. When I asked what I owed them the manager said have a good day and a safe trip home. He did not charge me anything. It is a great feeling To find a shop that does not screw the customer. They could have easily manufactured a story and charged me anything they wanted. I wish they were in Michigan. They would be my new mechanic.

I had to get brake work done on my car and selected Monro in Urbana based on the large number of positive reviews on Google (I live in Springfield). It is rare that an auto repair shop gets a score as high as 4.8 with over 100 reviews. I couldnt have been more happy with the service that Rick and Chris gave me. I had previously taken my car to another shop for tires and they gave me a price to change all the brakes on the car. Monro looked at the vehicle and said I only needed the rear brakes done. They gave me a price, I agreed to the work and the car was done the same day. When I picked up the vehicle, the invoice was for more than I was quoted, but Rick called Chris at home and Chris told him exactly how much he quoted me and the invoice was changed. There was no attempt to BS me into paying more. I immediately made an appointment for my other vehicle and once again Rick and Chris gave me a price for the work and stuck to it. It is rare to find such a knowledgeable staff that are honest and do what they say when they say it. I will be back for my other auto maintenance needs in the future.

After experiencing a problem with another provider in town, we took our car to Monro to repair the damage. Monro was great. They were on time, assessed the problem quickly, called everywhere imaginable to find the part, and completed the repair at a lower than expected cost. The service techs are very professional and treat the customer well. I highly recommend this business for its customer service, for its trustworthiness, for its pricing, and for the skill and ability of its staff.

First time coming to this shop and I will tell you, they are up front and honest with you. Took my car in yesterday for an alignment and tire rotation. They told me my front tires were too bad to rotate and ordered me a new set. Took her back in today, they put the tires on, did my alignment, no issues. Rick, the manager, is very friendly, and easy to talk to. Marine Corps Veteran to boot. Will definitely keep going back!

Would not recommend to young women who dont know much about tires. I used a coupon to get my flat repaired for free. The younger gentleman said no problem. And I requested some estimates for tires but decided I cant afford it on the spot.Left my car for the day, upon return the manager told me my tire should not have been fixed and it is unsafe. But they patched it anyway. He told me one bump and my tire can explode. He was okay with me leaving like this. I did not get a call during the day telling me this or offering a new tire. So now Im driving around on tire that may or may not explode.The manager of this establishment is okay with sending young people out on unsafe tires or just enjoys using scare tactics on young girls to guilt them for not pulling out $500 for brand new tires. 👎

Went here for an estimate for a exaust,while lifting. my suv I heard a loud pop the one guy said its not nothing, after getting the estimate,way higher than others I started to leave and though I better check out the running boards I seen them messing with after the loud pop noise.found the running board was broke,yes they lied about, now they had to replace the one that is broken after over 3 weeks of waiting. Cant recommend this place,just dishonest!

Great work by the employees, got me in and had my truck fixed quickly. Been here several times with all being good experiences. Paul is doing a great job and explains and shows you issues that they found.

My boyfriend and I were new to the area and despite hearing some pretty bad things about the teenage mechanics decided to be open minded and took our 2010 Altima here for an oil change along with new front breaks and rotors. After being told it would cost almost $600 for BASIC front breaks and rotors (to which he proceeded to say was the best pricing we would find yet we were quoted $400 TOPS everywhere else) we told them to put our tires back on so we can leave and we would just do them ourselves to save the hassle of trying to make an appointment at another shop. As soon as we pulled out of the shops parking lot, our breaks were making a horrendously loud screeching noise that they were not making before. We get home and take the tires off to find they literally bent the plate that the break pads slide into so it would hit the inside of the wheel well and make noise when we drove, most likely so it would scare us and we would bring it back for their RIDICULOUS prices. Awful place, shady mechanics, will not be recommending to ANYONE in the area.

I recently moved to Urbana and a friend recommended Monro Muffler Brake and Service to me. The first time I came in was for an oil change. I was so impressed with the service I received and the friendliness of the staff that I have now switched over to Monro for all of my vehicle services . They have always gone above and beyond for me!

I’ve been coming to Monroe for oil changes for the past 3 years and they’ve always done a great job. Their crew is very welcoming and they’ve never gave me a list of 100 items that need fixed on my car when I go in for a simple oil change.

Last week they did full brake line replacement and passenger front axle replacement on father inlaws truck. 1500$ was the bill. Now truck is worth scrap weight. Hand bent brake lines 2 rubbing on exhaust manifold. No tube bender was used. Vise grip marks on lines to bend into master cylinder. Used existing old line to rear and quick coupling to connect 2 feet of new line at rear axle. Passenger wheel bearing fell off during driving because they dont know what torque specs are for. So new brake line needs gutted and re-done. New front cv axle is now junk new wheel bearing is junk. They really scrapped a nice truck.

I took my car in to get a oil change and I asked them to check over my car to make sure everything else was ok and they said there was something wrong and it was 1,500 to fix. Well guess what no it wasnt what they said it was and it was only 19.21 part that was wrong and they had me so scared to drive my car if I didnt replace what was wrong. I am so glad that I grew up with a father and he taught me a early age to know knowledge about cars. I just wanted to pass the information.

On monday march 12 2019 my 2001 ford taurus was grinding on metal my pads and rotors as well as my caliphers were gone i was down to bare metal on metal for brakes i had to rely on this car to get myself and a fellow co worker to work and to keep my job. the manager at the monroe brakes and tires was a godsend He had my pads and rotoors as well as the caliphers repaired and fixed at a reduced total price of four hundred and twelve dollars from the original price of five hundred and ninety three realizing i only had four hundred and twenty dollars in my bank account and would not get paid again till thursday he understood the problems of a poor working man and gave me a break i am indebt for his kindness and understanding of my tough situation he was a great person to help me out and i will go to him again and again in the future for my auto work monroe will have me as a reguler customer thank you However a few weeks later on monday april 15th 2018 I called this same monroe muffler and brake service to get the price on a tire i needed to get the gentlemen on the phone informed me that the kind gentlemen that had helped me the last time had been disccharged and fired and was no longer an employee working there so they fired him for his kindness and having a good heart huh!!!! well monroe then tried to sell me their lowest price tire in stock wich just happened to cost a hundred and twelve dollars so monroe chose PURE GREED over helping people well monroe you just lost another customer when you do right by people you gain buisness when you do wrong by people you loose buisness
