What a fun museum. Such a beautiful layout of Route 66 memorabilia and archives. Delvin is a volunteer whom we had the pleasure of speaking with. He is so knowledgeable about the route and has fun facts to share with anyone who wants to listen. He is very friendly and his excitement to share his stories is contagious. He is great at pointing out some of the smaller details that might get lost in this plethora of goodies. The museum has several cute little photo ops and some larger ones too. This museum is put together well and they take care to display their items so it isnt a bunch of stuff just put in a corner. Would highly recommend the California Route 66 Museum for all ages.
Awesome place even for the locals.Love the old maps and pictures.Do your self a favor swing by check it out make a donation keep route 66 alive.
The personnel at the museum were wondeful and love their job! We were visitors from Seattle and Los Angeles and we had such a great time at the museum! 9-5-2021
This roadside attraction is fee free and managed by volunteers, and is a little gem of a place that reminds us of the lost era. The artifacts are amazing and well maintained.Overall, an outstanding and well decorated place which deserves much more accolades, especially being the non-profit venture it is. (Note: Previously stated as Family owned. Updated this misinformation after response from the owner).
Definitely worth a visiting! Cute, kitschy museum with great artifacts and local history thats definitely worth visiting if youre in Victorville, CA on one of the days its open.
Cool and interesting memorabilia and couple of old vehicles. The souvenir shop is very nice
A historic walk down memory lane. There is much history in the high desert, and museum will show you much of it. I enjoyed it very much!
Just had to share my superb experience here. Every volunteer is so engaging, interesting, and enthusiastic at this delightful museum. All lovely people. It has a wonderful collection of Route 66 items, along with those of its Western heritage, local telephone exchange equipment, radios and other a myriad of other things. Thanks to Lou, a US Air Force veteran (who was based in the UK for a while), I learned the origin of the car transistor radio. Its financed by donations and sales in its shop; so do put some money in the pot or buy some R66 related merchandise to let it continue its work.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Nice display and information.
Great information displayed. Lots of local mementos. Cash if purchase in under $10.
Small museum filled with Route 66 memorabilia. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. The museum had so many items that jolted my childhood memories. Most kids today would not have any knowledge of many of the items here. Great museum to visit. Have been to museums across the country, big & small & this is definitely one of my favorites.
This was such a great find. The staff are the friendliest and show a true love for Route 66. They welcomed us, showed us around, answered questions and told us about other great stops on our trip. Plus, they let you sit on some of the displays for pictures like the old Ford model T. We will definitely be back!
Fun place to visit and stretch your legs
I cant believe Ive lived here for 20 years and never visited this Museum. Its a cornucopia of so much history in our area. It made me realize how old I am since I recognized so many of the objects including an outhouse. My friends and I couldnt have felt more welcome! The docent there was amazing! Its a completely free museum run by volunteers but donations are appreciated. Ill definitely go back now that Ive found this fantastic Museum in the high desert.
Super cute nostalgic stop, the kids enjoyed it.
Very good and interesting the objects that it has 👍
This place is awesome. I stopped by here back in October to find a Geocache, and ended up inside for over an hour. There is so much history about the historic Route 66 as well as local history and automotive history. It’s amazing how much stuff they can fit in this place. If you have the time to stop by, I highly recommend it, and make sure to give yourself plenty of time to wander around!
Nice people, must see.
I didnt get to see it
Small place but with many little things to see. Very friendly staff.
Everyone that works there takes you back in time. You need to experience it for yourself.
This is a nice little museum with a variety of information about route 66 and all the surroundingareas. Good place for a walk down memory lane.
When you walk into the museum, you might be welcomed by Lou, one of the tour guides. He will greet you with a nice smile and will give you directions. Lou likes to talk to you about the history of route 66 and his own personal life. Lou was in the Air Force which makes the experiance a whole lot more interesting. The entrance is free and there is gift shop too. There is lots to see and the museum is mainly themed to Route 66 Over all, my experience was great!
Very friendly atmosphere. Small, but interesting.
Bill was very helpful and informative. Awsome place!
Great place for a bit of history and nostalgia
Fun time with several photo opportunities.
Shows the era...worth a quick look..
Lou, Thanks for the tour!!!
A very small museum but if youre in the area you should stop by and check it out (theres no admission fee but please consider donating and buying some souvenir).Staff here was friendly (I think most are volunteers) and they have a Model T you can sit and take a picture. Walking through here, you do see some history (they even have a Motorola phone from the early 90s) including telephone switch board, washing machine and fridge. They have some cool souvenir and reasonably priced. Hours of operations vary so do call ahead.
Whats not to like about this place?! It is filled all the history of not only route 66, but Victorville as well. Its a small museum with a much bigger punch.
Very friendly guides, must see on route 66
Great memories of oh so many things. Sure miss those years. Volunteers here are so kind. Make sure you have a couple hours lots to look at. Free to the public. Free parking. ADA compliant entry and restroom. No ADA parking spots but large front concrete slab entryway.
A small unimposing building pack with so much history. When we went we met two German couples visiting dressed in 1960s apparel, an added plus for our visit. This place had so much history... cars, restaurant settings, books and other memorabilia. Entry is free but donations are accepted. More than one visit is required to really see everything. Lots of Roy Rogers stuff also.
A group of us went over and had a wonderful time looking over everything and seeing tons of items from old cars in the 20s and up. There are many pictures there to see, inexpensive items to purchase. I cant name all the great things you would never expect them to have out for public viewing. I had pictures on my cell phone but they are gone now.

So interesting! Great collection of interesting artifacts! Fantastic staff! Reasonable prices on souvenirs!
Got to enjoy seeing some old stuff from many years ago and I love the tour.
This place deserves more than 5 stars! Another excellent Route 66 icon keeping the Mother Road alive. This place is full of great photos, literature, props, ect. The staff is very knowledgeable. We are from Arizona and passionate about our stretch and these folks are the same way with California! Highly recommended by a family of true Roadies
This is a must stop and see. Not only do they have a great museum with so much to see and much of it hands on (you can sit in the trucks etc) but the staff are so incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. I could spend a few days looking through here!
Very interesting part of Americana. Super nice lady works there that provided great tips about places to go on the route and life in Victorville. Look forward to exploring the route further and seeing America as it once was.
Great fun and really different. Well worth a visit. Plenty of Route 66 souvenirs
Lou is a volunteer here and he made the experience for me! From stories of his own experience to stories from the items in the museum, he really helped to frame my understanding of the pieces of Americana in the museum. I definitely encourage people to check out this free museum.
It was a really nice place the people that work there are very nice.. it really a throw back to see how year ago where so different.
Super informative staff. Lou is a legend... what he doesnt know about the local area and route 66 is probably not worth knowing. Great opportunities for pics and gifts. I only wish we had put more time aside to spend longer in there. Defo be heading back to catch what we missed out on. So much to see in there. Truly amazing place!
A small, but delightful museum. Lots of antiques. Fun pictures and things you young folks would not even know what they are. Like a rottery phone. 😁
Was a great little place to visit. Many interesting things to see. Brought back a lot of memories. Free to visit - donations accepted.
Very interesting things on display, if you like retro/ old things and technology then you will enjoy it
So much fun and facts about the desert! Dont forget to donate so they keep the doors open!
We were greeted by our guide upon entering the museum. The display of items dated back to the 1920s to current brought back a lot of memories when I was younger traveling Route 66 from California to Indiana. Loved it all.
Awesome place. I especially love all the info on the history of Victorville and the high desert. Very friendly, knowledgable staff.
This place is a mandatory Route 66 experience. Heading to Vegas? Stop in. Traveling the road? Plan on staying awhile. Looking for a day trip from Los Angeles with your kids? Make this just a part of your experience
Very interesting museum. Go with plenty time so you can listen to the volunteers amazing stories. (Lou has pretty funny ones)Lovely staff.
A wonderful place full of history! My grandsons and I have visited several times. The staff are very friendly and so knowledgeable.
Really nice museum. Friendly, helpful volunteers. Be sure to buy a souvenier, that how they stay afloat.
A destination stop .. must see
Really enjoyed the museum. Came for a car show but was very surprised by the museum. Highly recommend if youre a route 66 fan.
So many great antique items to see. Nice t-shirts too
Laid back little museum with a staff so helpful and knowledgeable. Some great pieces of history. Can be seen in an hour or less.

Its good for sights and the other places around it.
Kinda cool mish-mosh of relics from a bygone age. A nice blend on nostalgia and kitsch.
