Fantastic service. Amazing vibe. Delicious coffee. They make their syrups/flavors in-house, and they also have a housemade almond cashew milk as a dairy milk alternative. I got the seasonal apple latte, and the classic vanilla latte - both with milk alternatives. I loved the fact that they made their own flavors because it was a super unique experience and the flavors were some I wouldn’t get anywhere else. Both of the lattes were delicious, and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area.
Do you like leisure mornings to relax and enjoy a good cup of coffee? The Vibe District of Virginia Beach is a locals favorite. Make Three Ships Coffee a priority located at 607 19th Street Virginia Beach, VA 23451! Enjoy their hand pies, pastries, flaky egg biscuits and fresh roasted coffee especially, steady hands coffee or a lavender almond milk latte!
I meant to go to the brand new location that just opened.. but I’m still happy and satisfied. Branched out with trying the Pungo Latte with the apple flavor after a suggestion from the barista and I’m so happy I made the decision. Also grabbed a vegan wedding cake cookie and I truly wish I got more. It was so flavorful. I truly enjoy the decor and the name “Three Ships” is such a cute nod to local history. And this business is sustainability-conscious (paper cups and straws, encourages in store experience to minimize single use to go cups, etc). Seriously checks off all the boxes in my list. I’ll be back again soon!
I was excited to try this coffee shop out since coffee is something I love. They offer one size (12oz) which is tiny for the price of $6.30. I dont care how good the coffee is, at that price I wont be back. I can get triple the size for less money at Starbucks who will continue to get my money, lol.
This place brews using a la marzocco and mahlkonig grinders. They provide a spoon and sparkling water with their espresso shots. They use fruity and acidic beans in their espresso. Theyre a good choice for a third wave coffee place in Virginia Beach. The staff is also very friendly. Even bought some beans from them. All that said, they lose a star because the music is way too loud and the tables are too close together. The atmosphere doesnt have a relaxing coffee shop vibe even though the interiors are very well decorated. Plus the food is way too overpriced for what it is, lacking flavor and quantity.Overall a good choice for coffee if youre into fruity light roasted third wave stuff.
I will surely drop by here again! Im so thankful that finally, I was able to find this spot for some good coffee just in time. The atmosphere inside this coffee shop was very vibrant and relaxing. I will definitely rate them a five-star for everything that they provided. Truly amazing! Thank you so much, guys!
I visited three ships coffee roasters this week (august 1021) and also in the Spring. The staff are friendly and efficient, even in the Spring when they were under construction and with COVID restrictions. In the Spring, I did a cappuccino test, sampling cappuccino from a bunch of different shops. Three Ships was the clear winner. Theirs had a strong coffee taste with just the right amount of milk and foam. Yum. A bonus is they make these great biscuits that you can either eat there or order to take home in a box of 6 or 12. I recommend doing both.
Fun little place a couple of blocks off the boardwalk. Worth it though. The coffees and teas were great and the staff was super friendly. Check out the custom handbag shop next door too! Great, high quality merchandise. These two shops make the trip from the boardwalk worth it.
Very cool ambiance with equally great coffee and food. House made biscuits are buttery perfection and make for delicious breakfast sandwiches. Cold brew is smooth and flavorful. Highly recommend as the perfect start to a beach day.
This place is a MUST!!!!Honestly 3 Ships takes the trident crown for coffee & hospitality. It’s such a soothing spot the staff bring a great dimension to the coffee drinking experience. Congratulations on being AMAZING!!! Special thank you to Lazelle, Addi & Kat … there were 2 other women that was very kind to a few guest as I was sipping my drink & ensuring they were happy.Awesome job crew.SincerelyAnthonyI.g@THASMgallery
Good local coffee shop with limited menu of biscuits and fixings a few other items.
Very good place to grab some coffee whenever you need some energy. Great selection and great variety of flavors. The tote bags here are also cute and the coffee bean blend bags they have for sale are a great souvenir to bring home to other coffee lovers if your not from the area.
Popular for a reason! The location is great, just a few blocks from the ocean. The interior and decor is SO unique, fun and interesting. I ordered an iced matcha which was delicious. A little pricy but great drinks!
Really disappointed that the music is so freaking loud. It doesnt have coffee house vibes at all. Came out to enjoy a cup and it was so loud and annoying. Its a rainy day and just not cozy. Small tables and not comfy chairs. Sorry guys just not my style. Coffee house vibes are off for me.
Best coffee in town. They have some excellent staples and great variety when you’re trying to mix it up. Hands down best biscuit in the oceanfront area. Helpful staff and cool decor.
Okay, did not really live up to the hype. We heard great things about this coffee shop but it just did not hit that sweet spot for us. Smaller than average selection, taste is definitely different than others, so some people may enjoy the difference.
Only small sized coffee served that comes with a large coffee price. Ordered 2 different flavored lattes but they tasted exactly the same. Not impressed
A bit pricey - two small lattes and one biscuit - $15. They have great coffee and really good hot, fresh biscuits! It was my first time having a hot biscuit with honey smothered in for breakfast. Its definitely heavy but was surprisingly good.I wish they had more savory options like toast and bagels.Covid-19 update: as of end of July, no dining in but they have outdoor seating.
Such a great small business. Great coffee - make sure you try one of their house made pop tarts!
I had a wonderful experience! The homemade pop-tarts were very tasty. Not surprisingly the menu is largely focused around drinks with limited food options.
First time at Three Ships Coffee Roasters. Have been hearing about it for quite a while. They make their own biscuits with every option you can think of. I had their Becky biscuit (bacon, egg, cheddar), which also comes with a homemade sugar cookie on the side. I was half way through my wonderful cappuccino and had to remind the staff about my biscuit (new guy took my order). He ran back and got it for me and the barista brought me a second cappuccino on the house and apologized for the oversight.Everything was delicious. I arrived a little after one and the place was hopping. Major bonus: An outlet for your device under ever seat on the bench. Individual tables (2 seaters), seats at the coffee bar and around the perimeter of the coffee shop.A big draw...their homemade pop tarts!Very friendly staff, pretty chilled vibe. Definitely a hipster fav in the 757. Its definitely worth the hype on the streets. My new favorite coffee shop with free WiFi. If you arent a coffee fan, they have tea options and other beverages. On a nice day, they have a cool little patio with 4 or 5 tables, where you can bring your fur buddy. You will definitely want to check this place out!
Excellent place just down from the convention center. Great coffee house experience!
Best coffee in Virginia Beach. Always hot/served to order, and its great to just sit outside at their tables and enjoy it. Have had some great conversations there. Also great is their breakfast sandwiches, which are better than what youll get at most cafes.
I LOVE their coffee. They make one of the best cappuccinos Ive ever had!! They have done a great job with serving customers while keeping everyone safe/socially distanced. I try to stop in any time Im in the area!
The venue and art was very unique. But the menu was extremely hard to order from because all menu items were not included/displayed. My husband mentioned the quality of coffee was good but unfortunately we were not happy with the 2 of the 3 drinks we ordered. Because of the inconvenience of not understanding our ordering options we will not return.
Been going to Three Ships since 2014 and I will always be a supporter. In my opinion they were the very first third wave coffee shop in the 757 area, and they have done a phenomenal job of making great coffee and serving it well. Hats off to Brad and the crew 👏🏻
Delicious food and cozy atmosphere, Ill definitely be going back here again. The coffee is delicious, especially the espresso. I also had the apple tart and the spinach and egg pocket, both are foods Ill definitely have again! Best part is that the food was reasonably priced, but the coffee was pricy.
We have come out here the past few weeks. The employees are so kind. The coffee is great, but the biscuits, Nutella pop tart and blueberry like muffins are show stoppers!!! Amazing!
Locally lightly roasted coffee. Northern East coast coffee drinkers will love this place!
Great cold brew and great breakfast food. The staff here is very nice and helpful. To go growlers of cold brew are available and well as different juices if the coffees dont tickle your fancy.Plenty of places to sit inside and out. Make sure you get the Beckys biscuit so good.Even some other to go coffee options with grounds/beans tou can take home. Give them a try.
Three Ships Coffee Roaster is one of the best coffee shops in Virginia Beach. Heres why:1) Coffee: Its very good and their menu diverse. They have lattes, espressos, anything. They also have seasonal simple syrups like butternut squash and all kinds of sweeteners and milks.2) Space: Its a beautiful space thats gutted during the pandemic. They have outdoor seating.3) Service: The barista was super nice and welcoming.4) Food: They have a variety of better-for-you foods and pastries like biscuits.
Great food, great vibe but horrible cold brew. Get coffee at badass then grab food here
Great service, food, and coffee. Will definitely visit again before my trip ends
Liked the au lait but the cheese on my sausage egg & cheese biscuit was the best.
Without a doubt in my heart this is the best coffee shop in Virginia. Not only do the baristas have excellent knowledge on coffee and its origins, they roast the coffee in the back and you can physically see it. They also have tremendous skill making drinks talking and giving excellent customer service. If I lived closer I would submit an application immediately because I love the place so much.
Has amazing coffee and avocado 🥑 toast i give 4 stars because only small size coffee
Ugh! Slowest service ever. Ordered coffee and breakfast burrito to go. Tool over 1/2 hour to receive even though the place wasnt crowded and there were at least 5 employees working. Will not revisit on my next trip.
For those with an anathema for corporate coffee, this is your lighthouse in the storm. The bean reigns supreme for the team at Three Ships, this is one of the best cups of coffee youre going to find in the region. From onsite roasting, to an inspire selection of serving methods, youll find the perfect cup brewed right here, in one of Virginia Beachs cooled neighborhoods. The buildings vibe and neighbors make you feel like youre part of an authentic experience there, they you really are supporting the little guy.And boy does the little guy serve up some BIG eats. Fluffy and delicious biscuits and homemade hand pies would be reason enough to swing by, if the coffee wasnt so dialed in!
Was at Neptune park and wanted to grab a coffee to go so I stopped at this one which my gps found near by. It had great reviews and the photos showed amazing looking coffees. I ordered, got in my car and when I grab my coffee it tasted really horrible, strong and burnt as well as the cup feeling extremely lightweight. I open it to see ( picture ) is what I got. I honestly did not feel like turning around to ask for a redo or something else. It was $4.07 for what I got. I refused to toss it so when I got home I mixed it with some coconut milk, a spoon of sugar and it was good enough to drink. Will not be coming back. I gave it 2 stars as the location is convenient and the decor was cute.
Excellent coffee, very good food options and is one of Virginia Beachs most cool/hipster coffee shops!
Very upset that the BECKY was BEYOND delicious. Great great motivation for a long run!! Although... Thats not what Im doing today, sadly. Looking forward to earning another one! 👍❤️
I wasn’t blown away by the coffee, it seemed typical, but the desserts were AMAZING! Especially the Nutella pop tart! The service was great, and the venue was comfortable.
Fantastic coffee. This is my favorite place
Service was nice and the baristas seemed happy to help. I did not enjoy waiting outside for my coffee. I felt like I was missing a huge part of the experience by not being able to watch my coffee be created. Getting down to taste, the espresso has an earthy flavor with the resemblance of green beans, if youre into that kind of thing. The pour over was definitely the best part of my experience. Offering a lighter and more charming blend of flavors. Id happily wait outside in the rain for another pour over.
Delicious and high quality coffee! I am dairy free and love that they make their own nut milk. Top notch service and drinks. The price may be a little higher but the quality is equally as high. Will be back for sure!
Came into Three Ships on a rainy cold Sunday morning and had a very relaxing experience with good coffee and chill vibes. Would definitely recommend stopping in here over the 46 Starbucks and other chain coffee shops in the area. Much higher quality coffee and the baristas were very warm and friendly. They serve sparking water when you order espresso and even roast beans in house! I haven’t bought the coffee because of the price though it’s pretty pricey.
Ordered at 3:58. I was told the order would be ready at 4:15. I didnt receive my lattee until 4:28. Its hard to be a loyal customer when you treat us this way.
Good coffee. Fast service. Awesome and fun holiday drinks! Friendly staff and customers. Clean. Good location. Good parking. Though we came a few days before Christmas... I am not sure what the parking would be like in peak seasons.
I love this place for their coffee. I have had so many from them and it is always excellent. The strawberry cold brew is one of my favorites, ever. Outstanding!!!
Yessss the service was excellent. I ordered a mocha latte and a bacon egg n cheese, and everything was fresh.
If you are a real coffee lover and are near VA Beach, stop the search. This is the place for you.
This is my favorite coffee/ breakfast spot in VA beach. The cold brew coffee and Becky breakfast sandwich are always delicious and the service is always wonderful.
Really good cold brew and friendly people.
Delicious!! I had the kale pita and some black tea
Travel a ton for work and always try to hit local coffee joints. Had a first-heard I just have to share. Ordered a breve latte (half/half), and was told they couldn’t make it. Not because they don’t have half/half, but because they just “choose not to make those.” They were happy to ask if I wanted to add a tip though. Good to know - such a surprisingly snobbish attitude in VB. I’ll just choose to never stop by again. Gave it two stars because the espresso was fine.
Amazing desserts/pastries. I didnt love the coffee, but to be fair, I got it with their housemade almond/cashew milk. I think I disliked the coffee bc of the milk I chose. Great customer service and very social-distancing conscious.
Great neighborhood shop with an amazing brunch. This shop is very environmentally conscious.
If I could give 0 stars I would ! For the price they charge for a very small cup of coffee the taste and quality was horrendous. My and my family members each got something different and each flavor was worse than the other. The flavors ranged from dirty hamster cage to sour mushroom water . PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE !
The coffee was strong, fresh, and bitter. Black is the only way to go...
Great chai latte. Will be back again.
Awesome place with great outside seating in this super cool vintage building housing other hip businesses. The interior is filled with cool old ship and sailor related items! The staff friendly and stylish. Great drinks I had a horchata berry iced latte so good! Next time I tried a cold brew cant remember exactly what but great flavors!I walked over from my hotel on Atlantic and 19th so go get some greAt local coffee!Def using local ingredients.
Great coffee, horrible wait. 35 minute wait for a fresh breakfast burrito that was frozen.
Pricey af for what you get. Its not bad tho, definitely one of those boujee hipster shops. Would I come here again? Probably. Will I go out my way too? Prolly not.The service was impeccable tho. That ALONE deserves a million stars.
Awesome coffee, great customer service and cool ship ambiance.
Love the environment its a real chill mood.
Pungo latte was so good 👍🏻
Probably the best coffee shop in Virginia beach and not too far from the boardwalk. The shipshake was INCREDIBLE! Its a vanilla shake with multiple shots of espresso.Very authentic and flavorful coffee, we loved it and would definitely go back.Oh and we got a breakfast sandwich to share and we wish we had gotten another because it was soooo good.
Vanilla latte is sublime. Great service and quality.
