Great! I got the “vegan rolls,” which consist of injera rolled up with one of their vegetarian/vegan fillings, such as lentil stews. It was a great option for if you’re not hungry enough for an entire entree.

Definitely opt for the Ethiopian cuisine. Big portion comes with the perfectly-cooked breakfast tibs. The vegan rolls are yummy and easy to eat on the go. Great spot!

The kitfo sandwich here is one of the best kept secrets in the expansive DC Ethiopian food scene. Its perfectly spiced, warm, comforting, and SO rich!!!! Truly a special lunch time treat!

Great spot for breakfast! They have traditional American breakfast items like bagels and cream cheese and pastries, as well as Ethiopian breakfast and lunch items. They also have great coffee and frappes. The bathroom is always clean and there are three tables outside on the patio.

I just left this place- first of all I can’t believe it took me this long to find this place, the family loves to be there and they are super super friendly, I got a cold brew and vanilla latte and 2 capresse sándwiches and everything was above my expectations, I def recommend this shop to anyone looking for good coffee and good atmosphere

Fantastic little family-owned spot on a stretch of Petworth that desperately needed it. Bomboloni was great but I cant wait to come back with a bit more appetite because they have a really enticing collection of breakfast sandwiches and Ethiopian classics. They have a lot of thoughtful little design details like an antique Coke refrigerator, whole bean coffee for sale from a local roaster and importer of Sidamo beans in Springfield, and a great selection of extremely caloric baked goods, plus a nice little patio I am rooting for them to somehow expand.

Love the ful. Cant beat that price for a dish that fills you up and is delicious.

I come here every day off I have because it’s absolute paradise! The coffee & espresso it TOP notch, the owner is always there greeting customers and talking about the neighborhood, and he’s also always talking about the history of coffee and Ethiopia (if you don’t know about it, def stop in and he’ll get you hip!) last but not least, the FOOD IS TOO DIE FOR! And they have everything from classic breakfasts to lunch to vegan meals. You’re making a mistake if you’re not stopping by Büna & in NW. Stop in next time you’re there, and tell em the dude in the Steelers jersey sent you!

It’s just what georgia avenue needed. A warm mom and pop cultured coffee shop with breakfast and desserts. There wasn’t a coffee shop walking distance for residents in the last 8+ years! I’m so excited I can walk 2 blocks just for a nice cup on my way out to Petworth! Love it.

This is my favorite coffeehouse in Petworth. The nitro cold brew is perfectly balanced with no need to add cream or sugar. I’m not much of an iced coffee person but I keep coming back for it because it’s so enjoyable. The vegan rolls make for wonderful anytime light meal or snack. The breakfast bowl is packed with flavor and so generously portioned that I can get two meals out of it.This morning the shop was busier than I’ve seen it in a while. I ordered six vegan rolls and waited a little longer than usual but thought nothing of it due to the volume of customers. Upon receiving my order I also received an apology for the wait. When I opened the box I found three extra rolls inside. The quality of the products and the quality of service is a true joy! Thank you, Büna!

Little to no experience with Ethiopian food, but this was great! I got the habesha eggs (the picture that looks like chorizo with jalapenos on top - although theres actually no meat in it) with injera bread, a tiramisu and a cortado. Eggs were fantastically flavorful and quite a large portion; tiramisu wasnt the best Ive had, but if you prefer it lighter and less sweet then youll enjoy it and the cortado was great! Ill definitely be back.
