Delicious food & drinks! Cheap products with a great flavor. I had the best iced vanilla latte of my life here - so good! The BEC on a bagel was also great. Muffins are full with a savory flavor as well. Recommend to anyone in the area. Saxby’s is also a chain, so there are many great locations to grab a good breakfast or lunch!
Had an issue here recently, which was strange and out of character, and management went way out of their way to fix it. Love that. Love the place. Keep it awesome!
Took forever to get food (wasnt packed at all) which was only a bacon grilled cheese. When the individual who was done making my order they didnt even bother to call my name. My sandwich wasnt even cut through all the way and when I asked if someone can cut it I was told sure then another worker rudely pointed and said there are knives over there. The coffee wasnt really something to come back to as well.
Great low key coffee shop. Quality coffee and pastries. Good place for students to hangout.
Rude, forgetful staff, burnt grilled cheese. Forgot all about my coffee (isnt it a coffee shop?) This is what happens when you throw a bunch of kids into a coffee shop and expect them to run it. Dont waste your time or money here!
Coffee and food are good. But it is always full of smoke from the kitchen. You will get a frying smell.
Frankly, the coffee wasnt so great. The staff was super friendly and Saxbys is an it place in Georgetown, but the quality of the coffee was average at best both times that I tried it (a cappuccino and a cold brew). Not sure if it was the beans, milk, or water, but the coffee was definitely not it.
Pastries baguettes cofffee all fresh and reasonable prices.
When someone comes in saying they need to use the facilities because they have IBS, you’d think any place would be understanding and allow them to relieve themselves. The rude staff of this shop turned down my bf who needed to go. It’s a pandemic but we are human and sometimes need to go. Learn to be compassionate people. So disrespectful.
Are you in the heart of Georgetown and miss Interstate gas station coffee? The coffee here is slightly better than that. Servers are friendly enough.
Quick service conducted by staying outside the building.
Service was awesome
Just left. Service was impeccable. Food is delicious 😋
Who serves a croissant cold? Also the coffee is subpar. Basic bland American food. The one person at a time policy is a bit annoying too. This place isnt worth waiting in line in the cold.
Easy to see right off of O Street servicing Georgetown and the adjoining areas of Washington DC. Parking on the Street is available but it fills up fast especially at night and on weekdays. Moderately clean facilities. Public Restroom. Staff is nice. Reasonably priced. Credit cards accepted. We will most likely be going back.
I love Saxbys. The food and drink is good, and its cheap which is helpful. I enjoyed studying here while I lived at Georgetown. Its got a pretty chill atmosphere for just hanging out too.
Excellent smoothies
A great neighborhood cafe serving Georgetown University, Visitation, Holy Trinity Parish, and all neighbors. Jim, the manager, is responsive and friendly. Staff is well trained. Good specials like grits, mac and cheese, and soups. The Southwest veggie burrito is the best breakfast option. Only wish there was more seating to stay longer.
Nice people, relaxing vibes, and great soup!! I come in almost every other day and I always enjoy the interactions I have with the staff or the good music thats playing, placing me in a great mood. I must say Id visit more often if I had the time.
Excellent and cheap coffee, food wasnt bad either for a breakfast/lunch place. The only downfall is the lack of seating due to so many students sitting around on laptops. Works nice for a grab and go coffee.
Tasty coffee and friendly staff is to be expected here. Very cool and relaxed location, in a quiet street just minutes from all the action.Stop by for a cup of cappuccino or mocha and you wont regret it.
Fantastic coffee, though Im inclined towards their hot chocolate. It is such a great atmosphere to study or read.
Great eats and coffee. Always nice staff and a fun atmosphere. A little pricey at $5 for a smoothie.
Cute place filled with people working on their devices. Quiet and clean. Friendly. Relaxing. I got the macadamia almond milk late. I am normally a Starbucks late or mocha drinker. Being from out of town I wanted to try an authentic Washington cafe. I found the coffee bitter and had to add a lot of sweetener. (It did not come sweetened.) I gave this place four stars instead of five for that reason, but real coffee lovers would love this place!
Great place for a hot cup of tea on early Sunday morning in Georgetown.
Very good place for students or commuters to pick up a very smooth morning cup.
Saxbys is a fantastic coffee shop in the Georgetown area and is in a really convenient location for either students or people shopping on M Street. The interior is a bit cozy, but its comfortable and is a great place to either get your morning caffeine fix, grab a bite to eat, take advantage of their free WiFi to work, or meet with someone. All of their iced teas are pretty good, but Im a big fan of their raspberry tea. I also love their chai lattes (the regular, cinnamon, and vanilla are all solid choices) and their breakfast sandwich is a solid meal option. The service can be a bit questionable at times, but the staff is generally super kind and helpful.
Love this place. I Usually hang out here before the classes. Good coffee and almond croissant. Yummy.
Saxbys is a small coffee shop which is very nice.
We were on vacation & chose Saxbys over Starbucks every day we were there. The cold brew is delicious & perfectly made. Food was good, only complaint I have is that the only staff that we encountered to be friendly was on the first day out of three. Everyone else seemed to be annoyed to be dealing with customers. Would still recommend.
Great atmosphere, pretty good coffee. Fun place to hang out or study
Good cheap coffee and friendly staff. Inside tip: if you’re planning to stay, ask for your coffee in a MUG. You’ll get a much larger serving and you can ask for a free re-fill! (It might be $1 but sometimes you get it for free). Only downside is limited seating and unless you get lucky or come early it can be hard to find a table!
Coffee’s great. staff’s hit or miss. they have TVs with college football on, which is rare for coffee shops.
Very fine coffee, and friendly staff. Often a rather long line -- crowded with the young university crowd. Can seem a bit claustropbic, but definitely better drinks than Starbucks.
Nice coffee.. But overpriced .. I am not a big fan of Aluminum chairs in a coffee shop too!Otherwise it’s a nice place but again I would prefer Starbucks as a place to talk, study.
A nice, quiet place to chill/get work done. Wifis good, coffee drinks are nice too. Not many outlets, but seek and you shall find.
I liked the place, too bad they let ppl bring their pets there, customers are mostly college kids, they don’t care what they drink. I asked them where the coffee is from and they said they don’t know, next thing I was told to leave the store !
Love their coffee. It is less bitter than Starbucks. I wish if they serve gluten free pasties or cookies.
Lots of late night studying was possible because of Saxbys coffee!! Cant thank you guys enough!
Nice place, good food and excellent service!
The British Islander is one of my new favorite coffee drinks. Beats Starbucks coffee hands down. Great coffee, fast service, and an unbelievably awesome location.
Nice spot for a cup of coffee near the university. We went there while waiting for a play and it was nice not to have to walk all the way down to George Town for a moffin, which was also delicious.
Consistent experience every visit. Excellent selection of quality coffees and coffee drinks (hot and cold), pastries, salads, and snacks. Excellent customer service - friendly, polite and intelligent staffers always providing courteous and prompt customer service. Everytime. Excellent. IMHOP.
Its a cozy place with enjoyable coffee. The staff are professional and helpful.
A break from the Georgetown main campus, but near campus, quiet in the summer. There are a variety of pastries under $3.00 to go with your coffee. I appreciate that The coffee wasnt burned or bitter, thats a step up from Statbucks.
Cozy coffee shop. Plenty of space to get work done. Friendly staff.
I came here looking for a warm place to sit for a moment and enjoy a coffee on a cold Sunday morning. I was warm and there was coffee but the only place to sit that I could find was in the bathroom! The place was totally full of Georgetown students who were fully entrenched at every table. I finally found a pseudo seat in an awkward location after about 15 minutes and not one of the students moved in the remaining 45 minutes I spent there. As for the coffee, if you decide to get anything other than black, I recommend asking them for half the sweetener as they go way overboard. But, if drinking pure sugar is your thing, this might work for you. After all this, I cant say Id go back to this location because of the crowd and Im hesitant to go any other location because of the overly sweetened drinks.
Dropped in for a quick bite early Sunday afternoon. Found a table while hubs ordered a bagel with egg and bacon and a coffee. These were pretty good and fresh. My broccoli cheese soup was a congealed lukewarm mess. It was an off shade of tannish brown with teeny flecks of green. Smell was not great. Hungry so I tried to eat it. This is without a doubt the worst broccoli cheese soup ever. It was even worse than canned versions from the grocery store, including the generics. The menu states that saltines come with the soup, but when asked for them to see if they would help, the uninterested server said they were out. We also had an apple fritter, which was on the stale side, not particularly soft, and had one tiny bit of apple in it to lend it the apple name. It was overly sweet with a thick glaze. I realize that the soup probably was was mass produced somewhere, but they need a better supplier. The fritter was also outsourced, but it was a real disappointment. We did spend $20 for the meal, but they could do much better for a location in Georgetown. Just because they have a captive audience of students should not allow them to be so cavalier about service and their product.
Very nice café in quiet neighbourhood
Good spot. Has all the coffeeshop standards with some small food items. Sometimes is hard to get a seat because of all the students.
Great apple fritters and coffee before u hit the campus
Can only love the outside. Its empty inside😥
Great place for a coffee break. Easy walk from campus and hospital. Lots of study space and a pokestop right across the street.
Cute little coffee shop with decent selection of coffee teas and eats
Nice coffee shop with great service
Fabulous vibes, coffee & baristas. 10/10 do recommend. 💁🏻♀️☕️
Young vibe for the Georgetown area. The latte was just alright but the poppy seed muffin was quite tasty. Overly crowded with students with mac computers :) Nice environment though.
Awesome coffee selections. Highly recommended!
Friendy staff, good coffee, reasonably priced but lacks seating which being in Georgetown can be expected.
Cute coffee shop! The coffee tastes great and the baristas are exceptional.Sending love from Minnesota.
Love their coffee and love how they make an effort to waste as few drinks or food items as possible.
Just an average coffee shop, it is just popular with college students and has good wifi
Fun staff. Amazing cold brew. Chill fibe. Best Saxbys in DC.
Nice. Very student place. Good Coffee too
I had so lovely Breakfast here with friends 💙
Close to campus and better than Starbucks
The best cup of Joe!
Some of the best coffee in the city, with a nice chill vibe
It’s $5 for a SMALL cafe mocha
Ordered a simple latte. I got hot milk with bad shots. Teach your staff to pull shots and steam milk properly.
Good quality food in a fun atmosphere.
Great place, their fruit with yogurt in a cup (dont know how its called) is amazing.I go here everytime I visit Georgetown.
It was fine for a cup of tea and a spot to get some work done.
Good coffee + personnel
Best coffee ever. I’m a coffee fan and trust me, this is the best coffee that I ever tested in my life.
Great coffee but always crowded.
Great spot. Our favorite out of town story happened at Saxbys.
Great local coffee spot! During school year, always packed with students.
Great coffee and good music too 👌🏼
Good place, nice and very friendly staff.
Too many Gtown students, should have known given its proximity
Great spot for coffee, very friendly staff, very crowded best to take and go.
Great coffee and cafe foods, a bit pricier than I like to pay, but standard for cafes in the area, and a regular hangout spot for Georgetown students.
Good coffee, good food, excellent environment
Creamy, non acidic, coffee served by the friendliest staff!
Gunmetal gray uncomfortable new furniture!!!What are they thinking ??? Still a classic location and interesting patrons but be careful not to lose your fan base.....
Lively and busy place, popular with students.
Great place to grab a drink and sandwich.
Great location to enjoy coffee away from M street
Good coffee, location, and service
Saxbys is great
The Daily Grind drink is phenomenal
The Chocolate Monkey Frappe is SO good.
Normal coffee shop atmosphere, fast service, hot coffee.
Its not star bucks so its good coffee
Good coffee. Mostly Georgetown Students.
Great cold brew!
