Really bright, friendly coffee shop with fun specialty drinks. We were hoping for the cardamom latte (on a recommendation from a friend) but they weren’t serving it anymore. Bummer! However, the turmeric latte was delicious. The staff is super welcoming and fun, making us feel comfortable from the very start. Good tunes and a farmhouse chic decor. Worth a visit if you need a caffeine fix!

Coffee is good, service is great, great design, great vibe, but the line, though moving fast, could be challenging... one personal wish would be better pastries. The stock products on display are definitely not best in show, though would do for a grab and go. Second personal wish would be just a bit more shade. The big glass windows are beautiful, but with a sunny day can be quite challenging to most skins.

First things first, the coffee is excellent and I really enjoyed the dirty chai that I ordered. Also, I really like that payment at this cafe is quick, efficient, and I have the option to have my receipt emailed to me. I’m all about being green, whenever possible. Coffee rating is 5 stars; customer service rating is 3 stars. Now to my one critique: please minimize arguing with your customers. I made a simple request this morning that my cup not be labeled as “Dirty Pam”. Apparently, the cup naming thing is done a certain way and it seemed to me that this location had never received a critique on this prior to today. It’s not that big a deal but why argue with me on this? If I ask for my name not to be preceded by the word “dirty” then this should be done without being ‘forced’ to explain why I made the request. The lady (I interacted with) gave me a very mean look for requesting this. She was also quite aloof. For me, customer service is more important than the product or service. Please understand that by improving your customer service, you will have customer loyalty. Let’s hope improvement is made on this.

A typical over-priced corner coffee store. The staff are friendly and the coffee (at least the lattes) are very good, but you pay a hefty price. A good choice if your fine spending $5+ on a cup of coffee, but not a great value. There is limited seated inside, and when I went (late afternoon) all the seats were occupied.

Absolutely love this coffee shop. The clarity of the pour over is up there with some of my favourite coffee shops across the states. Theres not a lot of seating, so, if it is busy, dont expect a lot of study room. However, the staff is incredibly fast, efficient, kind, and quality. Bonus points for the boldness to play a boy band station on one visit to hit my guilty pleasure fix.

If youre from NYC and miss those Manhattan coffee shops, make a visit to The Coffee Bar. Dont let the fact that its in the ground floor of a glass office building fool you. Once you walk inside, youre transported away from the stiff, government feel that DC can have (Though this is quickly changing) and into a magical world reminiscent of the Big Apple. Its a small coffee shop mainly designed for people to get their artisan latte or tea to go, but if you want to stay, the atmosphere is inspiring and theres window seating and one long wooden table. Its decorated simply yet NYC artsy. The coffee is good (Their iced latte is one of the best in DC) and they sell an array of pastries under a small glass panel. You cant go wrong at The Coffee Bar.

This is most definitely my go to place for some good (upscale) pour over coffee (and other treats). The store has been popular and busy since they opened a few months back and have managed to offer the same level of service and coffee since the start. They offer a small number of coffee options that are all very good! They do offer coffee from Onyx Coffee from Fayetteville, Arkansas - one of my favorite coffee roasters.Their pour overs are made well with consistently and I even like their cold brew :)Staff is friendly and always ready to recommend a drink if needed.A good addition to the busy coffee scene in DC

Ive followed TCB for a while. As one of the few reputable multi roaster shops in the area, I was super pumped to have this experience. I literally selected my hotel based on its proximity to The Coffee Bar.I arrived at open for a pour over and was told by two employees (who had no drinks up and no customers) that pour overs are not made until 11am, because they are just not ordered frequently.I understand pour overs are time consuming for staff and labor costs are a challenge, but if youre going to offer a product, offer it.If you cant afford to staff properly for your menu offerings, consider changing your menu. This is just poor management and terrible service on the part of the employees working.Tell me it will take 5 minutes. Charge me $6+.If there was a line or any amount of business, I would be so much more understanding.Dont let your customer walk out the door because the baristas are so uninterested in good service and lacking the joy to brew coffee for someone who is clearly pumped to drink it.

Ive had consistently great service here. The barista teams are often quite busy but manage to stay organized, professional, and friendly through it all. Tunes stay on in the background, with styles that vary by the day but are always pleasant. Seating is provided, though considering the close quarters its no surprise that WiFi is not on offer. Sandwich chalk board out front is a fountain of changing humor, doggerel, and visual art. My only request would be the addition of a 20 fl. oz. sized option for the drinks. Thanks, Coffee Bar team!

TCB. Taking care of business. Or the Coffee Bar.The Coffee Bar serves up your coffee from a variety of independent, third-wave roasters, including Ceremony, Verve, Bespoken, Onyx, and Novo (...sounds like an odd cult gathering). So for those who love the aforementioned roasters, fuel your caffeine addiction with some TCB.On tap drip, espresso, (vanilla, chai, dirty) latte, cappuccino, mocha, #dailycortado. TCB makes them all with passion. And if youre not one for coffee, you can get some hot chocolate or teas. They also have a selection of pastries from local suppliers including Hawthrone, Sweet Lobby, Bethesda Bagels, and Paisley Fig. Their milk is sourced from a local farm in Lancaster County. In summary, if youre a coffee snob or pride yourself in repping and supporting local businesses, TCB is definitely for you.I stopped by after a meeting in DC to get some much needed caffeine one afternoon. The coffee counter/bar area is décor goals. Chalkboard menu boards (with some of the most beautiful handwriting), coffee paraphernalia, coffee beans, glasses, succulents, and matchy robin egg blue pendant lights and counter wall. Not a whole lot of seating but there are a few if you want to plop down and get a good short story in before your next class or meeting. Most of the cups that come from behind the counter are to go. Friendly staff who are obviously having fun and love what they do. Thank you for TCB.
