Not only do they have a great selection of products, but they have a very understanding, helpful, and dedicated staff. I went in there in search of supplies for my Girl Scout Gold Award project (painting murals and new shelves at Greater Waterbury Interfaith Ministries food pantry), and they made sure I got everything I need. They will take the time to help you find what you need. Nuts and bolts are their specialty. Unlike big box stores, where you wait to find someone available, who then point you to an aisle, here they will come with you and look with you. They also have a propane filling station. Bring your tank. They have very reasonable prices.

Is great customer service especially in the parts section tosection gave me time trying to fix my problem and came up with a solution thanks to them back to business is act of business highly recommend.

Exceptional customer service and very knowledgeable staff, they are very helpful and will be delivering our order on Tuesday. They also service the machinery that they sell to you, for a fee. They are a good old fashioned hardware store and their prices are competitive with the Big Guys, but their service is so much better in my opinion.

They have a wide variety that home depot may not and they fix lawn mowers, snow blowers, etc. I went for screws and the gentleman gave me exact size. They are a little pricey but you will find what you are looking for.

I shop here every year for the last 13years and I have yet to be disappointed! Good quality plants...

This place is awesome. It looks small, but somehow they have everything !I was really excited when I found Bonide and Espoma brand products for caring for my garden. Excellent selection.And the staff is very accommodating and friendly. I’m always happy to set foot into this store.

This is by far the BEST store in Waterbury if not Connecticut! You can get any common item here or not so common an item. The quality of their poroducts are outstanding. The SnS team really kmows their products and will give you sound advice without overselling or selling you something you dont want. The staff will go out of their way to help you in any way they can. Dwayne is awesome on the paint section. Rich and Laurie are in the power tools dection (Stihl and BCS are my favorite), Jeff and John are in the garden shop and grills section abd gave a ton of knowledge, Lee, George, Sharon and Julie are in power tool repars and Bev has a handle on everything! There are too many employees to name personally but they are ALL fabous! It is like going into Cheers where employees and customers all know everyones name. You can get everything you need here and it is a quality product, not a cheap knockoff. SnS backs their products. They even specialordered an Ariens Razor lawn mower for me because it had a feature that Toro fid not have that I wanted/needed!

I recently bought my first zero turn Toro mower at Schmidts and Serafines. Rich Everett in the back selling and servicing all the power equipment is so friendly and knowledgeable that when he was talking and explaing I 100% didnt want to interrupt him so I could learn everything I could about the new equipment I was thinking about buying. Rich is a vast welth of knowledge when it comes to this stuff for sure

The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. I was away from home and I had a problem with two bolts on my car that were broken and I had no tools. They took the time to help drill out the broken bolts and re-tap the holes for me. Of course I bought new bolts from them, but they refused to take any other money from me. You only get this kind of service from a family owned business. I am so happy with this experience that I had to share it. Check them out if you can. You will be happy that you did! Awesome people and an awesome business!

Highly recommend this place. I bought a weed string trimmer from them today. Great service. Did my warranty registration for me. Elijah, one of their associated tested and wked through the basic operation with me. Before you shop at big box stores, consider your small business first. The same make and model at Home Depot sells for $20 more.

Much more convenient and easy to get service than Home depot or Lowes. Just park your car and walk right in and someone is always right there to help you. They always have everything I need and the prices are very good.

This place is great. It is fully staffed. Many employees have been there for years. Lots of young employees doing the legwork. Very helpful though sometimes can seem a bit imposing, when you just want some space to think to yourself. A diamond in the rough. Pro quality power equipment department very nice. The service department is in a different part of the city and I would never go there again. I could write a page on my bad experience there in 2003/2004 but suffice to say everything that could go wrong did. The place was chock full of anything with a combustion engine- pocket bikes, rc airplanes, you name it I saw it there stacked to the ceiling. They never turned anyone away, just kept taking more and more than they could ever be able to manage. Lost, forgotten, unaccounted for, yeah that bad...so I wouldnt go there if it was free but the hardware store you cant go wrong- its the best! And I worked in a hardware store when I was in high school so I know.

Two thumbs up! Chain came off my chainsaw today that I didnt even purchase there. Very nice girl by the name of Jackie brought it in back and put the chain back on for me. Everything took less than 15 minutes. Ive never been here before but Ill surely be back!

Love the people there and always go back. Unfortunately I purchased a mower for $500 and it didnt last an hour. Went back to them and they said deal with the warranty. I have purchased my past mower from them and get all my parts from them.The mower was obviously sold defective. Unfortunately I must advise to go to Home Depot where they back what they sell.

This is the neighborhood hardware store everyone should go to, in my opinion. They only sell the best equipment, chainsaws, snowblowers, lawn mowers etc... There is always someone close by to help with any hardware or home project needs. You can not get this kind​of service and help from anywhere near Waterbury, especially not from Home Depot.

Slooooow service. It took 3 weeks to get my warranty repaired mower back. And they still charged me for replacing oil- $130 dollars. I could have argued that I would expect that to be required with a major engine repair, and for all I know it was. Playing both ends against the middle is how you make a good profit I guess.

Always helpful staff that goes above & beyond to assist the customer. You can hardly ask for better service.

Rude young man named trè claimed he didn’t see me waiting in line for 20 minutes. Even went and hopped on another register to help two other customers. Then told me I should have told him I needed help. “Why else would I be standing in line.”

Love this place. Only been there twice and thats because the first experience there with rich who is very knowledgeable helped me out and qas very friendly and helpful that I ended up going back the next day to make a large purchase. I will definitely be visiting tgis place more.

This place is absolutely horrible. They are very rude. I went in to buy a backpack blower, the guy said on the phone he has some in stock. I went down and there were none. He then called the service dept. and they said they would have one by the end of the day, again they lied, they never had one comeing in. This place sucks

I called inquiring about a mower and they were out of stock on the mower I wanted. They suggested a mower $60 more expensive and I asked if they could move on the price. He was not friendly in refusing to make an accommodation. I found the mower I was looking for at Home Depot.
