I live at the apartments above and I would love to be able to like this place. The staff is all super friendly and nice but the coffee is awful. Any iced drink I’ve gotten tastes like if you mixed milk and water and just put a tiny splash of coffee in there. Any hot drink I’ve tried tastes like burnt espresso and burnt milk poured into a cup. I’ve really tried multiple different drinks and they’ve all just not been good. Not sure if baristas really know how to properly use the espresso machine so it’s not burnt or what’s going on (I used to work in a coffee shop so I know that it can take a while to get the perfect espresso press and timing all correct, but it’s been every time I’ve tried it). As far as food items I’ve only tried one with egg and peppers and onions and the middle of my egg was a little cold and when you bite into the egg it’s almost like water is coming out of it🤢 and just the smell of the one little sandwich made my whole car smell like B.O. but like I said, the workers are all very sweet and happy in the mornings, maybe just need some proper espresso training.

Always love Sidecar. Reliable coffee staple of the Cedar Valley and still one of the best coffee shops weve had country wide.

It’s a hit or miss on whether you will get what you ordered. This morning I ordered a WCM with extra white chocolate as always and I even repeated it again at the window (as asked) and still got a bitter cup of coffee. Pretty disappointing.

Terrible service. It was a bigger for the barista to explain their types of smoothies, she served drive through who came after us while we sat and waited. We will not return.

Just waited 25 minutes to be handed the wrong drink first then finally get the right drink but the WRONG sandwich. Coffee tastes horrible will never go back. I will go to Scooters its way better and faster.

I go to the Side Car on ridgeway and havent been disappointed yet. Ever since the caribou closed in waterloo, I have been looking for a solid replacement. Being I am not a big bug fan of Starbucks.. I decided to try sidecar. Lines are quick. Decent prices. Nice pick me up snacks. Today I got the BlackBerry Mocha and omg it is so good. Might be my new favorite.

Always weary to try iced drinks from local shops when traveling but this one did NOT disappoint! One of my favorite iced lattes I’ve ever had!!! So yummy...if I ever pass through this area again, I’ll be sure to stop!

Good quality with good price

I visited Waterloo for the classic car show last weekend and stumbled across Sidecar Coffee Shop. I had the spinach tomato quiche and it was fabulous, although quite pricey for the amount you get.The blueberry infused green tea with honey was ordered as a hot beverage but was made iced. The barista was willing to remake it but I was short on time. As it turned out, it was delicious and next time I return to Waterloo, I’ll have it again.

Very good latte that was very creamy! The drive through was quick and efficient.

I loved the mocha I got here several months ago. Leaving a review now because they deserve it. Hopefully have time to get one this weekend too.

Favorite coffee in town!

I had an awesome honey latte with soy milk and cinnamon! I was greeted with friendly faces and great customer service. I hope you will open one in Des Moines or come visit with your trucks this summer ;)!

Great coffee prepared properly. The place was clean and the woman who helped me was very knowledgeable.

My wife made me try this Sidecar a couple of years ago. Now its the ONLY place I buy beans. Highly recommend it. Especially if youre into fresh, light roast beans. Super fresh, and so flavorful. With multiple locations in the cedar valley to choose from, theres no reason to go anywhere else for coffee.

I came in before school one morning with my mom, we had a vanllia and mocha iced coffee they were very delicious and I had a #1 breakfast sandwich and it was so yummy. I will definitely be back here again. But next time Ill try the drive through!

Very hip place. If school is in session you will be lots of college kids here. Love that they serve coffee and beer. I come here to work.

Intense dark roast. Fab sugar cookie. Cleanest restrooms ever. Friendly staff. A good place to work on a laptop for a few hours.

My carpool and I come here almost every Wednesday morning on the way to work. Typically its pretty decent. Last week I had a hot chocolate that tasted like hot milk without chocolate, and this week I had a Frank Sinatra that tasted the same. Weve also experienced inconsistencies with breakfast sandwich bread. Not a huge deal, but we are never sure what to expect. We try to support local and give benefit of the doubt, but Im definitely not looking for an overpriced hot milk.

This is one of my favorite places to work, or meet up with friends. Great selection (although not quite as much as the CF location) and wonderful atmosphere. Be advised, they close at 4 on Sundays during the summer!

Sidecar is my absolute favorite coffee shop. Great brews and awesome staff.

Its a decent small coffee shop. Isnt real cozy, and there isnt a ton of comfy seating. Drinks are fine and reasonably priced. Definitely worth trying, but might not be amazing.

Stopped on the way through. Fun, tasty choices of lattes (I had mine iced) & my husbands cappuccino was exactly as expected. Friendly barista & clientele.

Cinnamon roll latte is great!! Food is questionable how they prepare, beware of eggs.
