I write this review after 1000 miles driving. My conclusion is Peter Boulware Toyota of Columbia is trustworthy and I recommend this dealership with confidence. A specific story of my car purchasing process is as follows. I didnt have a car before my new Corolla. Since Im risk-averse, I decided to buy a new car, not a used one. I spent nine days getting a OTD price as good as possible. I sent a lot of emails to Honda and Toyota dealers, and then Casey got my business. I visited the dealership, talked with Carson to secure a white Corolla because it was on the way. In two days, Frank helped me with a test drive like family. They were all nice. No number changed since Casey had got me the best quote. Since Im very satisfied with their service, I even keep Franks business cards in my wallet all the time just in case I meet someone who consider buying a car. Meanwhile, it feels like specifically describing the quality of my Corolla is a waste of my time. Just Corolla you know! Smooth driving, Good mpg, and..I love both exterior and interior.

This place is amazing. As soon as we meet Nicholas he made us feel like no other car salesman had. He listened to exactly what we said we wanted and what we didn’t want. He has unbeatable customer service. He is willing to work all day on you if that is what it takes. He told us he would stay till midnight if that is what he needed to do. Now not only was Nicholas awesome but the finance manger Trey will talk to you no other. He sat with us and explained all the numbers and made sure we were very comfortable with everything before we signed any paperwork. This is the best place to shop anywhere for a car!!

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I paid good money to have the tires rotated, car detailed, premium car wash, and appraised. I came back 8 hours later, and the only thing they actually did was rotate the tires. They said that was all they were supposed to do. I kindly showed them my email confirmation with the services (tire rotation, premium car wash, detailing, appraisal). Left my car there overnight. Came back the next afternoon, and paid full price for what was honestly mediocre work.Side note: there is a Highlander on the lot with 106,000 miles they are trying to sell for $40k.

Paul in sales is the man you definitely need to see. I walked in yesterday frustrated and didn’t know where to start. Worst experience with a car dealership service center ever! I had an appointment today at 8am. Was quoted two different costs for labor, with a $400 difference. No one knew the parts I needed. They didn’t even order them after I talked to parts and have the parts ready for service. When I got there they didn’t even know the price of the parts they quoted me. I feel like they were trying to rip me off because I’m a woman. Ever since they changed names they’ve just deteriorated. They all blamed it on miscommunication on their part. I’m definitely not going back.

This place has been an absolute NIGHTMARE!! they STILL have not fixed the audio in my car after an entire month and i now have to wait 3 more weeks. they somehow missed the issue THREE TIMES and now my car has to go back in for a FOURTH time. do better toyota, this is absolutely unacceptable. do NOT come to this location. this place was much better when it was Fred Anderson.

I purchased a vehicle from this dealership a month ago. I drove 8 hrs to get the vehicle and I greatly appreciate they held it for me. But it’s been a month and my temporary tag has expired. I haven’t received my tags in the mail and I have been calling for the past 2 weeks explaining this issue before they expired and they keep shuffling me around. By this time they should have memorized my phone number and name since every times someone answers the phone they request my information and tell me someone will give me a call, but they never call. I have a fifty thousand dollar vehicle I can’t drive. I asked today if they can issue me another temporary tag so I can move around, I explained, I went to the DMV and they said they can’t do anything the dealership is the ones that can help me and again they said someone will call me. I am still waiting on calls.I feel like they just don’t care, I called the bank and they haven’t received the tittle as well. I need answers.

Overall, this was not an ideal experience as a buyer. They backed out of a deal that was agreed upon by internet sales. They switched the salesman midway through our visit. Prices were increased if we traded in a car. Required protection packages that are company policy. Many sleazy tactics including disappearing with our keys. We were able to purchase the same vehicle for multiple thousands less with a much better buying experience from a different dealer. Don’t walk but run far away. Value yourself as a customer. Do not shop here.

I just received my brand new 2021 RAV4 XLE! Carson Boatwright has been an AWESOME salesman & made this car buying experience the best I ever had! I previously went somewhere else & did not receive the best customer service & advised Carson how much of a painstaking ordeal it has been. I would never speak for anyone elses experience so I wont question why they have 4.5 stars. Seems a bit unrealistic for a dealership full of scammers but it is what it is. I wish I could give negative stars because they wouldnt have any left if it were up to me.Tried to lease a vehicle through them. I put money down (via a debit card) and we get to the end and they claim that it was too late at night and Toyota wouldnt have an answer until the following day. I was excited so naturally, I was willing to wait. The next day I go up there and come to find out Toyota didnt approve me due to my credit. I found this interesting, as I had just got my credit report, AND a credit card through a Federal Credit Union. I knew what it was prior to going up there. But, you know what? I left disappointed and thinking, maybe it wasnt as good as I thought. Jump to the present. I go to JTs in Lexington because they have a vehicle I am interested in. They pull my credit...approve me...get me in at the payment I want with zero issue. Literally no issue. I didnt even have to put money down. Ironically, my credit was exactly what I said it was. I wont point any fingers or make accusations, but you can rest assure I will never do business with Peter Boulware Toyota in my lifetime and I will do everything in my power to make sure that my friends and family go elsewhere. But hey if you had a good experience with them then congratulations. These people took my credit down several points AND I didnt get the money I put down until a week later. Just a sorry and bye was all I got. I wasted my time and my credit score because they probably just wanted to make more money off the vehicle.

Everything seemed smooth when I purchased my used vehicle ok May 1st. But now it has been months and I still do not have my title and plate for the vehicle. I have spoken with the dealer approximately 20 times over the summer and they have done nothing but send me temporary license plates to mask the issue. I am beyond frustrated at this point and am in the process of filing a complaint with the SCDMV.

I explained that I was already along in the process knowing what I wanted and all they had to do was sell me the vehicle. Because of the chip shortage, we had to pre-order. Financing was easy. I got exactly what I asked for. No pressure, nothing hidden, and I left confidently understanding the agreements.The most important part of the interaction was everyone that I interacted with, from sales, to financing to even service treated me with dignity. My goal was to buy a vehicle. Everyone I interacted with listened to my needs and met them reasonably and professionally. I recommend this dealership to all of my friends, especially my female friends.Looking at the other reviews, I see there may be some issues with titling, so I will keep an eye out for that

If youre thinking of buying, check out the FB reviews (I added mine there and saw some other folks having the EXACT same problem over the last month or two.) Take this seriously, it can kill your loan rate. Heres the scoop.My sales experience seemed excellent; I used the buying service the penfed and everyone in sales was super helpful. However, the paperwork was apparently not done correctly and my bank never got the completion of lien, and they apparently werent listed as a lienholder. I reached out several weeks ago and left a message. I called back and left a message, was told someone would call me the next business day, they never did. So I called and was connected with the same person I originally left a voice mail for. She said it was too late to call the DMV (around 2pm), she would call the next day and call me back the day after. Well, its the day after. I never heard back so I called and cant even leave a message because the voicemail is full. The receptionist number never answers, just goes to a message saying this number is not available so I have to go through sales every time on the phone tree. Anyway, now my loan rate could get jacked up to the highest unsecured rate, and I cant get ahold of anyone. Even tried a FB message, no response. Hoping that potentially with a review, itll catch someones attention so they can respond. And at least warn other buyers to be careful!

EDIT: I bought this car on August 3rd, 2020.It is currently September 15th and I still do not have a license plate. I paid for tax title registration... all of that, at the dealership. DMV still has no idea I own this car. I called the dealership and they told me to drive illegally and if I get a ticket theyll pay for it.I am starting to wonder whats going on. If they just took my money for titling registering and tagging the car and just pocketed it.Its not cool at all. Ive been driving illegally for 2 weeks now and they wont send me another temp tag.Will update if and when its sorted out.At this moment in time, I do not recommend this place.

I understand this dealership just changed hands........well good luck..........its the worst customer service imaginable. No one does what they say they will do.........absolutely no one. I just wired them $63000 for a car that they said they would FEDEX me the title and the other key FOUR TIMES....still dont have it. Next call.........SC Attorney Generals office.

Worst place to buy a car from. They put me in a 2017 RAV 4 haven’t even had it for long and I’m having problems with it already. Lee is no type of help at all. I called him with my problems and he acted as if he did not want to help. Regret buying a car from them. Should’ve stuck with Jim Hudson. I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING ANY KIND OF BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!

I was on the lot an hour looking at cars. No one had not even came outside. I thought they may have been closed. So I called the sales line. I tell them I’m interested in buying the highlander. The sales guy said someone would be out. We waited 35mins. No one. We call again he verified where we were as I told him. Waited another 6 minutes. After waiting so long I didn’t believe they needed our business!!!! I was going to buy the grey highlander on the lot tonight! I will take my money where it’s wanted!!!!

DO NOT GO HERE! Go to Google and Facebook reviews. Be sure you sort for the LOWEST reviews first. Thats where the truth comes out for this dealership. We ALL have the same complaints: TAGS, TITLE, & REGISTRATION!I purchased my new car on 06/05/2021 and finally received confirmation that it was registered to the NC DMV on 09/03/2021. It took 90 days for me to get the confirmation. Im still waiting on the physical tag.I rode around on an ILLEGAL tag from my trade unbeknownst to me and was provided with two temporary tags (also ILLEGAL) from the dealership in attempt to silence me on the issue. Thats 3 BAD tags!On the rare occasion that I was able to talk with a manager about my situation I was fed the same line: Were overnighting the information to the DMV first thing in the morning. Which was a blatant LIE every time. It took a trip to the dealership to get my hands on a bogus/generic tracking number after I couldnt get them to send me one via email.All it took was:- 10+ calls to the dealership- Numerous unanswered calls- Numerous voicemails to the management team and title clerk- Speaking with 5+ dealership employees/managers- Unanswered emails- A complaint with SETF- A trip to the dealership (a 4 hour round trip drive from my home)- A call to the NC DMV- A complaint with the SC DMV- A call to SLEDJUST TO GET THE ISSUE RESOLVED!I took the deferred payment option but intended to begin paying as soon as I got the first bill. The first bill came promptly within two weeks of purchase but wasnt due until 09/03/2021. I decided to wait to pay because I couldnt feel good about paying for a vehicle that wasnt registered to my name and the NC DMV.I find it very fishy that my car was registered after I made my first payment on 08/31/2021...and on the same day as the payment due date (09/03/2021).Do not walk. RUN from this dealership. If youre looking for a new Toyota let the Folks at Florence Toyota in Florence, SC or Griffin Toyota in Hamlet, NC take care of you. They know their stuff!The only reason I went to this dealership is because they were they closest dealership with the car that I wanted in stock. Hindsight is 20/20. I should have waited until I could buy the car from a REPUTABLE dealership instead of pack of criminals.FYI:The 5 Star reviews that jump to the top of Google are PUSHED while youre in the dealership and PAID FOR by the company. Dont take the 5 star bait! The true issues come out 30 days later when your temporary tag has expired. DO NOT LET THEM PRESSURE YOU INTO A REVIEW UNTIL YOU HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED!
