I had an emergency situation. All the indicators went on and my engine started shaking. I had no mechanic I was familiar with so I asked my nephew and he knew of someone since he worked in the car industry. Brian recommended John at Meinkeke Car Care Center, West Hartford, CT. This was on a Sunday. By Monday at 3:30 PM my car was repaired and ready for pickup. John explained all the details about the problems and was able to get the parts and get it all fixed in one day. He is an expert mechanic, a delight to work with and a true professional. Besides having my car repaired quickly and reasonably priced, I now have the comfort of knowing I have a place to bring my car that I completely trust. I can not recommend John more highly. We were in a serious bind, on a road trip and the engine blew up in my 1984 school bus, we ended up having to go through the warranty process and John was incredibly patient and communicative, following up on getting the new engine shipped to the shop and having it installed. 100% recommend his shop, they’re amazing guys.

I had a 5 pm appointment. Even had a text reminder. Got there at 4:59 and they were closed. No notice or anything. Apparently they close at 6. Had to run to a different shop for oil change prior to a road trip. So disappointed.

I called so I can have my vehicle inspected for a noise. I was able to drop my vehicle off. The owner was able to diagnose the issue and complete some other work in a moments notice. He provided me with excellent customer service and the vehicle was repaired the same day. I am definitely coming back for future repairs.

I had called 5 different Toyota shops trying to get my 06 scion TC in since my car needed new spark plugs and an ignition coil. (When driving I had to baby the clutch while keeping my foot on the gas or it would completely bog down and/or stall.) I’m so used to having my late fiancé fix my car he had been a mechanic his entire life and could fix anything but once he passed away I was lost at where to go to get the right things done.After spending hours calling everyone under the sun I decided to call my local meineke and they had me come down right away. They told me it was going to be a couple hours so I decided to go get Dunkin’ and come back expecting it to take at least 3 to 4 hours. By the time I got back (easily 30 minutes tops) they already had fixed the problems on my car. Mind blown! I couldn’t believe how well they did and how quickly they took care of it. They’re extremely professional. They booked me another appointment for 10am tomorrow to fix my gas cap that’s got a crack in it. Even though they said I should be fine to drive on it for a while I figured I mind as well just get it done now rather than have a problem later.Not only did they quote me easily below everyone else they also truly know what they are doing. The owner has been doing this since he was a kid and his son(who’s now also an adult) has been doing it since he was little.I seriously will not take my car anywhere else ever again. They go above and beyond and I just seriously can’t say it enough on how great of a mechanic shop it is. If I could I’d give them over 5 stars. They truly deserve it.

I need to get a price to fix my AC/Heater I got several quotes all of which were off the wall $1100-1300 one of which was just down the street at midas they gave me a price with out even looking at my car. I was about to give up and started to go home when I saw. The Sign for Meineke so I pulled in they were just about ready to close up.But I was Pleasantly Greeted by Joe the Owner I explained my problem him and told him my situation Im disabled and diabetic it was the first week in winter and it was already freezing out. He said Im a little busy can you bring early tomorrow and let me take a look at it.So the next morning we drop it off and Hoping for some good news I knew what was wrong with it but I wanted and Estimate not Guesstimate... He said we traced your electric and its all good, It Your Blower Motor its not cheap but I can fix.I said whats the price... I almost passed out it was 5 to 7 Hundred Dollars cheaper then everyone and I had a really diagnostic... So I said when can you fix he said I cant promise anything I can try to fit it into day but not sure if I can finish it... I said go ahead see what you can do. This was a Saturday around 1pm so I wasnt expecting anything but my car would have heat again Thanks to Joe...Around 4:30 got a phone call Joe said Its All Set Come and Pick It Up!!! It works great toasty warm and just in time Winter is Here... From now on Im going to Meineke for work on my car... Thanks Again to Joe and The Boys... Great Service and Cant Beat Prices!!! A1 OK...

I love getting by car repaired here. Once I get my car fixed, its fix. I dont need to revisit for the same problem. Before I met John, the owner, I went to Hartford Toyota about a curious noise coming from my wheels. They told me I needed new tires, so I bought new tires but the noise continued. Didnt have the time to schedule another appointment with Hartford Toyota so I dropped in at Meineke which was close to where I lived. He checked the wheels and discovered that I needed brakes, not tires. He was right. The noise went away after he was finished. Needless to say, I have been going to him ever since and was never disappointed.

The service was great and John (owner) is honest and will get things done in a reasonable price manner. I bring my car to John for all service work and I do not live in the area.

I had an appointment for an oil change at 5:30 pm, and it only took me 5 minutes because of the traffic and when I arrived there was no one, and it is supposedly open until 6pm. Terrible service.

John is the best mechanic and can do anything your cars need. It is a standard meineke shop plus all his other talents. He gives a square deal and is accommodating to any requests. Great place that does great work including any antique cars for reasonable prices!

I went here a few years ago when I was younger. The old meat head behind the counter who I assume owns the place was the most condescending man I ever met. I went with my friend because he needed brakes and I knew a bit about cars so he just wanted to make sure he didnt get robbed. When we were told we needed 2 calipers at a cost of $500 not including the pad slap I asked to see the problem. He brought us back and said Okay master mechanic do you see the problem now? without showing us anything. Okay Mr. God Complex thief, have a good life. Took it to the dealer who slapped some pads on, and recommended new rotors as expected (broke college kids dont replace rotors though). Id recommend having one of the homeless people that stand around the car washes and wipe down your car for $5 take a look at your car before bringing it to this guy.

I brought my car in for a basic oil change, it was the first time I’d ever been there, and I was treated like a regular. They got it in and out in less than a half an hour. I was so impressed I asked if I could bring my other car in, and was told they could take me back that afternoon. Best muffler shop in the area period

I called to get a price quote for a brake service. They gave me the quote and at no time did they mention that I would have to call to make an appointment versus making one online. After getting quotes from several different shops, Meineke was the cheapest. I went online and made an appointment and got email and text notification. This morning when I went to drop it off I was told (by a man who wasnt wearing a mask) that they dont take online appointments. I told him I received confirmation and he told me that they told corporate to take the online appointment system down and they hadnt and that it wasnt his fault or problem.

I stopped in to have the car checked before taking it on a 1500 mile drive. John was very friendly and helpful. I felt comfortable with his recommendations and repairs. I would definitely use them again.

When I entered this location I had already predetermined I was going to be upset since for the last week I’ve been met with the worst mechanics on earth from other locations! Not here! This family owned and operated location went above and beyond. They didn’t try to convince me other things needed to be “fixed” and was done on time. This will be my families new place for oil changes!

Took my Chevy here to get work done on the motor. One of the few places around that’s open/took me in on a Saturday which was convenient. Took them about an hour and a half to work on my car and then I was all set. Jon is great and a pleasure to do business with.

I decided to take my Camry to Meineke because they had coupons on both an A/C recharge and an oil change, both of which I was in need of. When I got there, I asked them to do these two jobs in addition to replacing my radiator. When I tried to redeem the two coupons, however, John, the owner, said I could only use one. Meineke - is this your policy? Because an oil change and A/C recharge are two separate jobs.... He then told me not to be cheap and that the full price oil change was only $7 more. Note to owners: when someone is willing to give you $400 worth of work, dont call them cheap. Thats when I should have walked away, but instead I agreed to his terms and let them do the work. After they were finished and I picked up the car and drove it home, I smelled burnt oil, which means they probably dripped it all over the engine. When I looked under the hood, I saw that they not only left an old piece of the radiator in there, but they did not replace the oil filter! I am not a car person, but luckily the last person that changed my oil wrote the date on the filter, so I was able to tell it was not replaced. When I called them, John told me it was an honest mistake and to come back in the morning, so I did. Online, the Meineke website indicates that the store opens at 7:30. I got there at 7:45 and John was there smoking a cigarette with a friend in front of the shop, which was opened. He then told me I was early and would have to wait until 8 for him to start the work. Thats when I knew I had to write a bad review. Its one thing to make an honest mistake, but to then make your customer wait around for 20 minutes while you have a chat and smoke your cigarette before you get around to fixing your screw-up is an example of terrible customer service.

John and his crew have always treated my girlfriend and I like family and always gives us top notch service and care. I just wish I could give him more than 5 stars.

There were other egregious one star reviews from other people but now they are gone. The owner of this shop, the guy at the front desk, seems to be a total crook. He charges 3x the price of each part. So for a $75 part from parts stores literally right across the street, he charges you $225!!Just look for yourself. Get the estimate from him, then do a quick google search for the part for your car and youll see. Hell tell you himself what he charges. Dont let him sweat talk you. Hes a real talker. In my case, not only did I pay wayyyyy too much, the part failed just a few months later in an very obvious way that it seems that the part was never replaced to begin with. Thats when you go in for the part warranty and find out they dont warranty the cost of labor after 90 days!!! Definitely go elsewhere, this guy could have a dateline episode about him

Worst customer service ever. Very rude representative/owner. Walked in and in less than a minute of explaining that I wanted a brake inspection, I was already told that I should either pay $29.99 for my car to be inspected so as not to waste his time nor the time of his employees. A mystery shopper from the corporate office should honestly visit this center. You are losing business to other auto mechanics within this environment.

No decency or humanity to help someone just take out a license plate screw that has no grip left anymore. it was ONE screw and i didnt mind paying a few dollars to get it done. instead they wanted me to book an appointment to take out one screw. It took me some time but i got it out without no appointment and with multiple tries with the wrench. But this review is to show that these people are only interested if you are going to empty your wallet for them. otherwise expect no humanity from them

Worst customer service ever. They wont take you, if you dont g have an appointment witch is ok. I called to schedule an appointment for oil change at 1:00 pm, the lady on the line told me they got me in for 4:30pm. When I arrived at 4:30 the guy told hes not going to do my oil change because he doesnt do oil change after 4:00pm and trying to tell me because I book it online thats a cooperate issue. Not only is the service here absolutely on point, but the customer service is unbelievable. I needed work done day of and had a way too small budget, and was ready to give up and they turned around and said, dont worry. Were gonna work with you. And they got everything done. I made an appointment online for 3 p.m. later the same day (made the appt at approximately 11 a.m.). I received the confirmation email from Meineke within minutes and then even received a reminder email about my appointment leading up to 3 oclock.Yet upon arriving at the location, the owner asked me when I made the appointment and I told him earlier this morning and he responded Couldnt have been this morning, Im not taking appointments today. I told him I did it online and showed him the confirmation email, to which he responded Oh corporate handles those, thats not us. Im still backed up from yesterday. I can get you in tomorrow if you want.Had I known they didnt have appointments today, I would have gone somewhere else. Its an absolute joke that the owner of the store openly tells you that they dont honor appointments made online. Turns out this location also has problems with people making appointments at Noon, only to show up and be told that all the mechanics are at lunch from 12-1, but once again, corporate doesnt take those appointment time slots off the website, so theres nothing they can do.Dont bother making an appointment online and expect to actually be seen at this location.

Dont be foolish like me and not considering the low rating for this guys shop and take your car there. I was scam and said I have holes in my muffler. I ask them to saw me when they remove it and repair it and they agreed but fail to saw it as a proof. I went there just to get oil change and this guys scam me out $500 bucks for muffler change.
