You won’t ever regret this place. Known for its cheeses, you will not go wrong with any of the milk products. I’ve tried the original location as well but so pleasantly surprised and glad they opened at this location too. Must try the ice creams for sure

Arethusa farm is well known name in Connecticut. Their ice cream and other dairy products are great. Arethusa main store is in Litchfield, CT however west hartford store is also great.

Wonderful breakfast and lunch items, milk, cheese and ice cream! People at the West Hartford are always pleasant and efficient. My son looks forward to our walks in for a treat here and there and they never disappoint. Glad we can support a local process.

I had the chance to check out Arethusa in late February on a whim as we were already in the Blue Back square on Doggie business. Given the slight off season, the inside was quite quiet compared to how was in August when we visited the area last. The building inside is beautiful and the ice cream is set up like a traditional ice cream parlor with the buckets behind the glass where you can choose your flavor of choice. Against the wall they have refrigerators where you can get some of their fresh dairy products like their milk. We just got ice cream though this time. February what!? I went with Cookies and Cream. I enjoyed it very much. It was creamy and everything I was hoping for. Had it been August it might of tasted even better but the only person I can blame for that is my ice cream craving self. I highly recommend that you pop in for some ice cream on your next visit to Blue Back or this area of West Hartford.

I worked at a creamery where we made our own, high % milk fat (read as *real), ice cream for nearly a decade. For someone who is a non expert, or might not know what real authentic ice cream looks like, you can always tell how real it is by how greasy it leaves your lips/mouth after eating it. This stuff passes the test, and my guess is somewhere above even 12% milk fat which is super premium. My litmus test is always chocolate chip, and theirs is so good I stop in and get a cone if I find I’m near a location, even if I’m not hungry or looking to get ice cream. I also routinely buy their pints from Big Y, and you can also tell these are the same high in milk fat quality because they are solid, and need a good 10 minutes or more to thaw if you aren’t accustomed to scooping *real* ice cream while it’s still cold, which is much more dense then brands that don’t have as much fat. Bonus tip, if you buy their take homes, always make sure to pack your ice cream down (making the whole thing one flat level) to prevent freezer burn and keep it fresher longer. So glad this place is finding success and has multiple locations. The quality is real, unlike many large chains which are lucky to hit even 6% fat and are mainly ice.Also for this specific location, I found it amazingly clean, and the quality excellent. In addition to my usually cone, I had an egg sandwich on a croissant and it was unbelievable. You could tell the egg was farm fresh just by the flavor.

Excellent homemade ice cream at a great price! I will be back to try their selection of cheeses and dairy products, which are made fresh on their CT based farm.I recommend trying the Sweet Cream flavor ice cream!

This ice cream is soooo good. My favorite that I have had in a while by far! I got the double chocolate (chocolate with chocolate chunks in it) and it was fantastic. Really dark and full chocolate flavor that a lot of ice cream places skimp on, and the chocolate chunks were not waxy at all. If I was around here I would be a regular! Be warned that all of the servings are large. The smallest size is two big scoops of ice cream. I wish they had more exciting flavors but it’s good enough that plain ones are fantastic.

I was really excited to try Arethusa in West Hartford after hearing great things about their other locations. I got a cone with almond coconut and pumpkin ginger snap ice cream. Both flavors were delicious and creamy. I love pumpkin and was excited to see a pumpkin flavor offered in summer! Can’t wait to return.

Being their loyal customer for years! So glad they finally open a store here in WH, so I dont need to drive down to New Haven for the scoops any more. My favourite flavor is rum raisin, so creamy and delicious! Beats all types of other rum raisin ice creams elsewhere! The price went up a lot recently, probably since last year. Before the price is definitely a big big plus. But still, the flavor is not disappointing. Almond is my second favourite.

Arethusa Farms West Hartford store is a treasure! We go for the ice cream which is so fresh and lip-smacking good. Try the Peach if it is still available. The service is efficient and so polite, and the decor is very-well, Farm chic. Pictures of beloved cows grace the walls. Did you know they wash the cows daily? The same love goes into the store offerings - which also include light lunch and breakfast fare, and a dairy case. Try their rich creamy yogurt - its a 10.

Best coffee ice cream. Actually tastes like coffee. Pumpkin ice cream tastes like the perfect pumpkin pie made from scratch (not out of a can)

Such a great little shop with so many different options, each of them were terrific. Cheese selection was terrific, milk was amazing, butter, ice cream really everything. You should try this place for sure.

The Bantam location is way more consistent! They actually give you what you pay for. We’ve been here a few times and we get a different outcome each time. This time my husband ordered two bagels with EXTRA cream cheese, what we got was a joke. Barely any on it at all. I highly recommend going to the bantam location where they pile on the cream cheese and you don’t feel ripped off. They also forgot a donut and this isn’t the first time. We walked out spending $60 paying for missing items and no extra cream cheese. I really hope they can get it together.

This is our new favorite ice cream place in West Hartford center. Good sized scoops at a reasonable price. I highly recommend the Pumpkin with molasses ginger cookies.

Straightforward, easy process: cashier asks what you want to order, then you pay!! No need for a take out window during the summer! Most delicious is the all of them (sweet cream and pistacho!). Yes more! Twice as happy as I was a year ago thanks to Arethusa. Yum.

I love this place in Bantam but the west Hartford location isn’t consistent and could use some service training from the Bantam staff. Not very welcoming and recently payed $18 for two slices of quiche and there was no cheese in it. It was basically egg and tomato. I usually love the quiche but this time was a fail and isn’t always great and make sure you check your to go orders cause they have always forgotten something but I catch it before I leave

Such a great addition to the West Hartford Center restaurant mix. Tasty light luncheon fare and fantastic dairy products including their fabulous ice cream. We just came back from a late summer ice cream cone with some new seasonal flavors. 😍🍦

I just tried this place for the first time at the recommendation of one of my coworkers. I had almond toasted coconut and maple walnut ice cream. those two flavors complement each other perfectly. At least in my book. I tend to be critical when it comes to my ice cream and this was excellent! The flavor was great and it was the perfect texture and creaminess. The portions are extremely generous and among the lowest prices I have seen around here for the amount of ice cream you get. The server I had was very friendly and helpful.

The smell of baking waffle cones is enough to make you swoon. The coffee is excellent and the ice cream is even better.

Breakfast sandwiches perfect, doughnuts are not too sweet and are delicious, pastries yes, high end ice cream. Dairy case with cheeses, half n half and to go ice cream.

If youre looking for great ice cream look no further. Arethusa Farms ice cream is rich and flavorful. Be aware their ice cream is not meant for a ice cream Sunday. Adding toppings would would be an insult to this ice cream, so dont expect your run of the mill ice cream shop experience.

A really nice place, I liked a lot the store design and finishes, the almond coconut milkshake was delicious. Good to have a place like this with local fresh produce in the middle of a ton of commercial restaurants. The ordering process is a little disorienting

This is without a doubt one of the best ice cream ive had. The flavors are pronounced and the sweet perfect. I tried the Coffee and Chocolate and will be back to try more. This is something that should not be missed if you live around the area.

Great! Expensice, but worth the money

My wife and I have been a big fan of Arethusa for quite some time, and love their restaurant up in Litchfield. Weve stopped by the Farm Dairy shop in West Hartford a few times now and love it. The ice cream is rich and extremely flavorful.The sandwiches are fresh made and are neatly made. Theres a great selection of their cheese and other dairy products if youre willing to pay a bit extra over the larger brands (it IS worth it to do so).Definitely will continue to stop by.

I am very disappointed with this place the ice cream flavors were very limited and not to mention just the whole ordering and paying process was confusing. Neither my friends nor i were satisfied with our ice cream. The thing that upset me the most was when we got to the register they told us we could only pay with card and not cash which was not specified anywhere. Luckily i had my card number and i expressed my frustration to the cashier but there wasn’t much of an explanation. Wouldn’t recommend this place or come here again.
