There arent words to express our gratitude to the whole crew at Tackers. They have gone soooooo over and above to help us out. We are hotshot truckers. We were traveling through to a stop still hours away, when the rear end went out on our truck. I had my truck toed to Tackers on Monday, Nov 30.Karen was good at getting back to me the following day. Karen told me I needed a intake manifold gasket and new alternator. Reasonable price. Karen called me on Wednesday and told me my truck was ready at end of the day. 3 day turn around.👍I told Karen I would be there the next morning Thursday Dec. 3rd. at 8am when they open and pick it up.My wife and I were in a rental car and showed up at 7:45 am.We waited for 25 minutes til 8:10 am and no Karen. My wife had to be at work at 8:30am in Memphis, Tn.My truck was parked outside of Tackers and I took my truck home, to turn in my rental and get my wife to work at 8:30 am being she is a hair stylist and had 8:30 appointment across the river .Karen called me at 8:25 am as we were crossing the bridge and I told her our situation and we waited for her as long as we could, being we had to get the rental back and get my wife to work on time, and I would be back after I dropped her off, no later than 9:30 am.I did as I said, and I was back to Tackers at 9:20am that same morning an hour later.The West Memphis police were there as Karen had called them accusing me of taking my truck which was parked outside, and not paying.I walked in and said jokingly to the police, “ I bet y’all are here for me.”I paid my bill and left, after explaining what had happened to the West Memphis Police. The West Memphis police were understanding.Later I called Karen at Tackers and told her I really appreciated Steve doing a great job on my truck.I shook Steve’s hand when I came back at 9:20 am, and thanked him as well. Good man!Later that morning after driving back to Memphis and home, I called Karen at Tackers.I told Karen over the phone what a great job Steve did on my truck and I was sorry for the way it all went down but wanted to thank Steve on the phone if he wasn’t busy.Karen just said, “ Yeh”, with attitude.I then said, “Karen, are you ok, you don’t sound like it.”Karen then says, “ That’s no way to do business.”Wow!Karen was 20 minutes late getting to work and called the police on me after I told her I would be back in an hour to pay her for the work.I did as I said I would.I will say, Steve, I’m assuming her husband did a great job on my truck and was priced right.Karen, you could have handled this so much better than you did.I did hang up on her after I was trying to give Tackers a compliment and to say I’m sorry if I stressed you out, and instead of saying, “ it’s all good. Karen says, “ That’s no way to do business.”Steve, I know she’s your wife, Maybe she could use some empathy and understanding.Thank you again Steve!Truck runs great!Good compression!! - G. Higgs

Took care of the problem at a reasonable price

I regret forgetting to give this review till now. Two of our vehicles broke down on the West side of Memphis. Tacker Automotive sold us the cheapest spark plugs on the market for a premium, which had to be replaced three months later. The water pump and head gasket had to be replaced on the van. The water pump leaked immediately after. They installed the wrong thermostat, which resulted in more costs down the road. And the head gasket is leaking within a year of their replacement. Talking about poorer members of the community, the owners wife, Mrs. Tacker, referred to them as monkeys. This was said while we were paying. And we are sad to have given racists our money.

Some of the best customer service I have ever experienced, we broke down along the highway they went out of their way to get us going down the road, and even placed it in a convenient location for us when we came back through to pick it up. They’re definitely gonna treat you right. Thank you Tackers for all your help, and may the Lord bless this business!

We were traveling from Tampa to St Louis, when the bearings went out on our truck. Tacker took us right in, even rescheduling other appointments to make room for us. They did the repairs quickly and at a very reasonable price. Thank you Tackers!

As we traveled to Little Rock Arkansas from Alabama we ended up breaking down right as we crossed over the Mississippi River bridge. The day started out ok but became increasingly stressful as the miles added up. Crossing the Mississippi River and have the car just quit on you while in the left hand lane was the last straw. Trying to get trucks and cars to let us over as we coasted to a stop was not the most pleasant experience. Finally we were able to get off to the side of the road. After securing the tow truck and the cab we finally made it to Tackers Automotive. It had already been an extremely stressful day and this event was just nerve wracking. A few minutes later the car showed up. Tackers was full to capacity; 3 rows deep in each bay. Cars were pulled out and ours was pulled in immediately. Within a few minutes it was fixed and we were told no charge. Fuel line had came loose and it was a simple fix. We were stunned at the kindness shown to us and the fact that they didnt charge us for their time and effort. We cant recommend them Highly enough. I love this place I recommend this place to anyone. They have great customer service skills and they dont just want your money they tell you the truth about price and if they can fix the issue.

We were on the road and had a water pump fail. Towed to tackers and they had it fixed in less than two hours. Very knowledgable and friendly

I took my 2003 Ford Expedition to them they told me my part was 550.00. I called Ford they told me the part was only 192.00 so basically I was ripped off. They fixed my truck but I suggest you buy your own parts. They are a big rip off !!

Rip off I call them and they said $1000 to replace a.c. compressor on 2007 ford fusion but I talk to another mechanic Sanders auto center they told me if I buy my own compressor with the kit they only charge around $300 or around 500 less without me buying the compressor
