Great presentation, decent variety of menu items consisting of vegan or vegetarian items. A bit pricey - youre paying a premium for the vegan/vegetarian fare. The cafe produces some great looking beverages as well. Good atmosphere, pretty busy, and the food tastes alright - nothing to write home about but its certainly good and it probably is good for you, as well.
We were excited to try this new place with my husband and I can not be more happier that their opened. This is far far the best vegan restaurant in town that offers good quality food. I cannot wait to go again, the service was excellent. They did almost lose our reservation and the host could be trained a little bit better but it is a new place and I will forgive them. Otherwise just excellent place.
Proper & Wild is THE place to eat in Winter Park!! Wildly delicious food, crisp/clean aesthetic, and delightful service! The Proper & Wild staff keep it fresh and interesting by having a featured menu thats always evolving. My very first meal from P&W (see first image) was the P&W Scramble Bowl, and it did not disappoint! Also, shown is the Chickpea Fry (my latest obsession!).Proper & Wild is the perfect fit for vegans and non-vegans alike. You can tell that the creators of these meals took their time in preparing the perfect flavor profiles to match with a beautiful presentation that will make you go, Damn, I need to post this to Instagram!.
Love Proper & Wild. I live in Tampa but went here with my son when I visited him. I am neither vegan nor vegetarian but love their food. They bring you a popcorn snack, for a treat try a Lavender Latte. I had a Bianca Flat Bread which was great. My son had Black Rice Scramble he loved. Service and atmosphere are top notch. Will go again, wish there was one closer to me.
I love this place- I love the food, the decor and the whole concept. I know it is very difficult to run a business that is unique and it really takes a special kind of person and system to pull off this high quality. I am not a vegetarian or a vegan and I really enjoyed going here 2 different time. Really looking forward to being able to go back.Thank you for whatever it has taken of you to make this possible for the rest of us. Your commitment to people being healthy is clear! 🐝
Food was delicious, but the prices are definitely inflated and the portions are small. Place is beautiful, great ambiance and service. I would go back. The chickpea ‘fries’ were amazing. The price will keep me from becoming a regular but it’ll be a great date night spot.
This place has been on my list for a little while now.Thank you for being open for lunch today! When I came here today, the service was excellent! The greeter and waitress were very friendly. They helped us with menu options and recommendations.I got the cold brew of the month, and it was delicious! It had a nice cinnamon and turmeric flavor, and I loved it!I had to start with the chickpea fries. Wow, these are amazing! The sauces they came from complimented the flavor of the chickpea fries perfectly!I got the Heart on Park salad. The “Crab” cake was the center of the meal! It was delicious! It was very close to the flavor of an actual crab cake! The salad it’s self was very tasty too!I’m already planning my next visit! This place is too good for just one visit!
I love Sanctum and once I learned that this place was opening I couldnt wait to give it a try. The decor, location, and vibes are fantastic. Drinks were superb as well! Definitely recommend the beet drink and the refreshing sake drink.. unfortunately, I cant remember their names :( but they are hard to miss on the menu! And they are soo good!Food wise we ordered the pea fries, a little salty for my taste but delicious nevertheless and the sauce was really really good as well. For the main course I order the Wild Burger with cashew cheese, and my friend ordered the Proper Burger with buratta cheese. Both burgers were very delicious in flavor, the Wild Burger was more earthy, while the Proper Burger flavor profile was more complex. I think the Proper Burger was my favorite. Both delicious at the end of the day 👌Like I said, I loved the vibes, the decor, and the food, but the reason for a 3- star review was the service. We ate at the bar, and food was served to a couple sitting next to us even though we had arrived first, we had to call for someones attention to place an order. There were rarely any check-ins for drinks or to give us a status on our food. My friend LOVED the beet drink I referenced earlier and she wanted another one, but no one checked in with us for refill while we waited for the food. The food took a while, and while I completely understand is a new restaurant, just checking in with us and giving us a status would be nice every so often. I will say after the food finally arrived, they did ask us about the food and how it was, but honestly it was a little too late given the lack of interaction with us prior to the foods arrival. I think the service is definitely an area that can improve. I do look forward to going back for lunch.
I absolutely loved this place. Its so great to find a restaurant with healthy and delicious food. The ambiance is cozy and the staff is kind. The presentation of its food is gorgeous. I will come back for sure to try more plates.
I had lunch here last week for the first time and it was fabulous! I tried the Sweet Karoline salad and it was so yummy. It was very fresh!
Celebrated my daughters 22nd Birthday in this amazing space. The hospitality was absolutely beautiful and the food is beyond delicious. Cynthia was our server and she went above and beyond with service, it was such a gift to have her at our table this evening. Looking forward to our return and I am excited to try brunch. Thank you Proper and Wild for creating a space where delicious healthy food meets incredible hospitality.
Wow! This place has the magic! I had the P & W scramble and I think I just fell in love. If you’re looking for a classy place with an affordable, health conscious menu, look no further! 10 out 10 for sure. Thanks Proper & Wild for an amazing experience! ✨✌️❤️✨
So we drove an hour to try this new vegan restaurant wed heard about. The food was amazing! Delicious, satisfying, good portions, great selection, although a little pricey. We had good service and the restaurant is clean and lively. I think if the tall tables along the window were swapped out for comfy, high-back booths it would feel a bit more cozy and warmly elegant. It was somewhat uncomfortable having the occupied table outside the window where we sat, literally next to us! Nevertheless, the chocolate monster dessert was also absolutely yummy!! We will definitely return to try other menu options, as everything looked and sounded wonderful! We so wish we had a vegan restaurant of this caliber near our hometown on the east coast!!
I have never had a good experience here. The first time was a few months ago and the second just at the end of May for my birthday. Both occasions, the food was decent and the service was only ok with notes of stand-off vibes. Why did I go a second time if the first was bad? I wanted to give them another try.Thats not even the worse part. They claim the food to be dairy free, gluten free and such, but they still cook and add those items into their dishes!!! Maybe thats why I woke up having food poisoning in the middle of the night this occasion and almost had to call out of work the next day because my body isnt processing the foods that I was hoping to avoid by eating at a place that claims to be free of these items. IMAGINE BEING FOOD POISONED ON YOUR BIRTHDAY! I wasnt the only one who had that issue because my friend texted me the next day how she was too. How can a place say their dishes are dairy free, gluten free and vegan if they dont care to order or cook with the correct ingredients? It speaks volumes to me.
I loved this place as much the second time as I did the first! My friend and I decided to come back and try more of the creative vegetarian goodness that we have yet to see matched anywhere else. We happened to be there for brunch hours today and we got to try the fig flatbread and the breakfast burger and both were outstanding. The combination of flavors and textures work so well in every dish here, it really is mind blowing. We will definitely be back again!
My new favorite Park Ave spot. My husband and I love to go to Winter Park to have a nice dinner and bottle of wine and when my children come into town they always want to go to Winter Park for brunch. Even though none of them are vegetarians or vegan they all adore Proper and Wild for its food, casual make you feel special style and amazing wine and draft offerings. When my husband is traveling for work and the kids are all back at their homes I go as often as I can. The food makes me feel good and the employees treat me like a close friend. I have several health issues that are triggered by food allergies and this is one of the few places I can go to and know that I will leave feeling better than when I came in.
The food has always been great, however we drove down to eat here today and the restaurant was closed, despite the hours on the website, google, and their voicemail recording. Very disappointing. There were no signs about why they were closed on the storefront either. Baffling.
Could not ask for a better restaurant, right off Park Avenue. I always order the chickpea fries. My wife normally gets the crispy fried cauliflower. this most recent time, both of us got their hot fusion soup -- perfect for the cold weather that came in this weekend. Every time we dine here, we are amazed that food can taste this good. Keep up the great work!!!
Different and Delicious! Love the ambiance.. .you can actually have a conversation without having to compete with loud music and noise! Very pleasant wait staff too. This was my 4th visit....I take someone new with me each time. Never disappointed....try the Wild Burger.
FINALLY a cute, romantic and more upscale vegan restaurant. This is definitely what Orlando needed!! I went the week before V-Day and had great service. The food was great and our waiting time was not long. Im looking forward to our next date night here!
Last visit I ordered the brussel sprouts flat bread in which I loved before and to my surprise $15 got me a little bread sprinkled with some herbs. No cheese, no oil, no flavor. My glass of wine was also more of a half glass. We paid and told the server we had to go somewhere else to order dinner due to the quality we were receiving and she said she understood for they had recently made some menu changes. They must be trying to cut cost. Im disappointed because I wanted to love this place but wont waste money there again.
Food was delicious and a great experience if anyone is curious about incorporating a plant-based diet into their lifestyle. I would definitely encourage sharing if you go with a few friends that way everyone gets the chance of trying many things. There are a few sustainable wine and beer choices on the menu if that interests you as well. Remember, keep an open mind and enjoy the experience!
A truly elevated vegan/vegetarian dining experience. Service is always top notch which combined with an inventive and flavorful menu makes this a go to spot for me.
I would have given it 1 star except for the fact that the first time I went here the food wasn’t bad. I’ve been here twice, the first time I thought that the food was okay for a vegetarian/vegan place. I enjoyed the brick oven flat breads and cilantro knots. I visited again, however the second time my wife and I found the food nearly inedible. The cilantro knots came out raw, the staff didn’t seem very apologetic about serving raw dough. No biggie, they did cook them again. The rest of the meal was underwhelming, my wife had “meatball” stroganoff which was very salty and like a bunch mush - the kale and artichoke dip was this odd color, tasteless but at the same time salty with an odd aftertaste. All in all it was the sort of place that you wouldn’t want to bring a non-vegetarian to as it could put you off Vegetarian food for life. (And I was raised in a vegetarian household). There is a better restaurant that is vegan around a couple minutes away I would recommend you go there, the staff are friendlier, the food is cheaper and most importantly significantly tastier.
I never ever leave reviews online, but I can get enough of this restaurant!! As a vegan, it is so nice to have a place that you can go to for a nice evening, and eat really good vegan food. I will be there tomorrow evening, and that will be my 4th time (1 of which was a brunch) going since they have opened. I just love this place so much!! And I just made a reservation for March 1, for dinner with friends there. This place makes me so happy!!!
This is among my most favorite places to dine, and Im not a vegetarian. My wife is vegan, so its an excellent place for us both to find something we can enjoy. Everything Ive tried has been amazing. I tried the meetball stromboli and cilantro knots on our most recent visit and enjoyed both. The staff is always incredibly attentive and I love the atmosphere. Well definitely be back.
One of the best vegetarian restaurants Ive ever been to. I highly recommend the Number Four smoothie, Chickpea Fries, and the Bad Hunter flatbread. Delicious! Excellent service as well.
Hands down the best mint cocoa Ive ever had. Friendly staff who were happy to answer questions. Definitely coming back!
This place competes well with the rest of the eateries around them. Love that they are vegetarian and vegan. This place has such a great vibe. Date night or brunch it is a place to enjoy thoroughly - from the beautiful decor to the delicious food to the knowledgeable and friendly staff.
I thought my favorite restaurant was the sanctum but after eating here I’m not so sure. :)The staff is incredible the food is so edible. I will definitely be back.
Absolutely delicious! Plant based and so much flavor! Professional service, easy to navigate wine list, and simple but classy decor.
We had dinner here for the first time. It was so good. We really enjoyed all the dishes we had. We ended up sharing our food at the table because it was hard to decide what to have. We will be going back.
I wouldnt bother going. My boyfriend and I went a bit ago and were excited to give it a try.The moment we walked in the service was awful and the seating directions were confusing. Three people behind the bar stared at me as I asked if we were to seat ourselves or wait to be seated. The rest of the dinner they all collected behind the bar and ignored most of the customers. Now to the food. Extremely over priced for something I could make at home and make better. My boyfriend got the curry and it was far too spicy even for myself, so he ordered the burger. Pretty disappointing and plain, not a lot of flavor. I ordered the cast iron pasta all of which was dried, crispy, and stuck to the cast iron. Felt like i was chewing on rocks. This place needs some serious work and not just on the food.
Delicious! The best avocado tempeh sandwich of my life. Everyone is so friendly, zen, and helpful. Great place for a solo lunch!
Unique menu and they live up to their motto: real damn good food!
PERMANENTLY CLOSED...due to owner/management issuesIt was good while it lasted... : )
I LOVE this place! The food is delicious and fresh and the smoothies are excellent too! My favorite is the Seven for smoothies:) highly recommend.
Really impressed with this vegan restaurant in downtown Winter Park. The food was flavorful, well prepared and properly seasoned. It was nicely plated as well and the perfect lunch. Service was very friendly too. Looking forward to coming back.
I would like to give this eatery 10 stars. A superb place, where a Vegan-veggie person can truly eat and enjoy a meal in happiness. I will be returning for more delights..
I had a flatbread from here about 2 weeks ago, it was dry and basically just tomato sauce and bread. It was honestly disgusting.
This place is fantastic! A vegan/vegetarian restaurant with a more upscale vibe, and the food will appeal to everyone, including carnivores. Tasty, inventive menu items. We will go back very soon!
Very disappointed. Burnt bun on the burger and the soup was ok just incredibly small and entire meal over priced! I have eaten at PLENTY of vegan eateries and this was very underwhelming.
Super cute and chill atmosphere! Everyone is kind and made great menu suggestions. Food was awesome!
Such a cute and quaint place! Service was fabulous and the food was amazing!
Had dinner at Proper and Wild tonight and it was fantastic! If you are looking for a plant-based establishment with well rounded flavors this is your spot!We had the Animal Lovers flat bread, the chick pea fries, the kale and artichoke dip and a side of the kimchi brussel sprouts. The service was great, the decor is inviting and vivid and the food is delicious! Definitely a must try in the Winter Park area!
Just had brunch there today with my husband and a friend. They got us seated quickly without reservations. My husband and I split a cinnamon roll. It was delicious. I had the Heartcake Benny (like Eggs Benedict) which has a chickpea egg (my first). It was very tasty but a smaller meal than others, which is what I wanted. My husband had the Margherita Flatbread, (think pizza) which looked a little blackened, but he said tasted fine. My friend had the Avocado BLT, which is a good-sized sandwich, and she said was excellent. The restaurant is not very large. It has appealing decor, and there is seating inside and out. The only issue we had was a mix up in who was serving us. Rachel stepped in and took our orders, answered questions about the menu, and did a superb job. Most of the menu is vegan, with noted exceptions. They serve beer and wine and a large selection of coffees. Great new spot!
The only things I am able to get excited about at our visit were the ceasar salad and our service. Tara was lovely and I really enjoyed the bitter, salty, lemony dressing on the salad but that was it. We tried the kale and artichoke dip. Total miss. My wild burger was flavorless on a cold untoasted bun. The crispy eggplant dish we ordered was fine. No salt. Would not recommend.
Amazingggg. Always great staff interactions, plus the food is realllly good. Jalapeño poppers and fungi flatbread were wildly proper. Cant wait to see what they will dream up next! 🍄💗🤞
Amazing. She definitely outdid herself again. The restaurant, ambiance, staff, food, drinks, desserts, everything. Beautiful, tasty, healthy, quality, clean, friendly, etc. I cant say a bad thing about this place.
This is the kind of place where you can tell that the wait staff are proud of the food and beverages coming to your table. They should be. (Paige was our server and was very warm and took great care of us)The menu is exciting. The combinations of ingredients challenged my imagination to try to figure out what it was going to taste like and every plate was better than I could have dreamed. The presentation was stunning and the richness of flavor deserves an aesthetic beauty to match.Neither myself nor my girlfriend are vegan/vegetarian and we had an amazing experience that beats any meal weve had in recent memory. Seriously, go look at the menu right now.
Nice decor, attentive staff, diverse menu, excellent food combined with the perfect location all make this a great restaurant.
Unfortunately, we left this place hungry. We arrived around 2pm to eat. Our server provided an underwhelming experience and barely checked in on us. We told her wed start w appetizers. They came out and we ate. One of the apps was ok but I wouldnt order again. The carrot lox were delicious. When we let our server know we wanted to order our entrees she stated that the kitchen was closed and we could not order our main meal. Her only solution was coffee. Very dissapointed in the lack of customer service. Felt no sense of courtesy or care for those supporting the business.
The staff was super knowledgable about the menu and the food was delicious! I highly recommend Proper & Wild. Try the chickpea fries and Lavender Latte. You wont be disappointed!
Give your business to another vegan restaurant in Orlando! The harassment that went on at this establishment to their employees is disgusting!
What a great gourmet gem in Winter Park! The flavorful food will delight your palate, and the cozy atmosphere is perfect for date night.
Came during happy hour it was a great alternative just wish I had more options
Heartbroken to find out who the owners really are. I cannot morally support this business any longer.
This is our go-to spot for brunch on the weekend. We have probably visited over 10 times in the past year and have never had a disappointing experience. My wife is ovo-vegetarian, but I will eat anything. My favorite dish is the P&W scramble which is a hearty dish. She likes the heartcake benny which tastes just like a crab cake and eggs benedict. Highly recommend to all!
Food is pretty good but their rose latte with almond milk is PHENOMENAL
Expensive, but its all vegetarian and most vegan. Delicious as well, I just wish there was a few lower price items
We were excited to come eat here tonight noone was there but a couple this was around 5pm the place was emtpy.. the lady told us we needed a reservation and that they were not taking walk ins and were completely book. Again mind you there was only a couple there and all these empty tables. Nowhere on their website or social media mentioned valentines day not taking walk ins you must call to reserve only. Hangry i was we left and went to Ethos which was a much better customer service experience. Never going back to this place again the lady wasnt really friendly and seemed like she didnt want us there attitude written all over her face. Was very shocked about this situation as this was one of our fav spots to eat at. They lost two customers because of this with their terrible customer service.
Red curry was too hot, taking away from any taste.
Fantastic flatbreads, delicious lattes, nicest staff around.
Ate here a couple weeks ago with friends, the chickpea fries are disgusting.Kind of like other things they promote that are disgusting. The pricing is outrageous and the food wasn’t good. Won’t be back.
This place is amazing.I got the Shitake Skillet and a pizza and it was freaking delicious. One of the best bites in Orlando for sure.
It is clean nice place, but as a vegan people we didnt like entrees. We think they need to improve their menu. We was disappointed.
Great variety on menu, delicious food and drinks, friendly and efficient staff
Incredibly nice ambiance. The menu may not be for everybody. My dish was not listed as spicy, but it turned out to be way too spicy for me.
Must try this restaurant.Everything we tried was delicious. We tried the kimchi Brussels, kale and artichoke dip, chickpea fries and the animal lovers flat bread. Everything was so good but you HAVE to try the animal lovers flatbread 🤤
Good food, friendly staff.Waiting times after ordering can be cut short.
Vegan friendly, great food, tons of options, and awesome health drink selection.
Great vibe and creative plant based food. The coffee is world class and the smoothies awesome.
Great service, crispy crust pizza, the offered a free glass of wine with our lunch pizza.
Delicious food, great service, nice atmosphere
Lovely place, professional service, food is so tasty - worth finding your way here.
Wonderful ambience. Staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. Food is scrumptious!
Great service and a variety of good entrees
This place is extremely overpriced for the quality of the food. I had the burger which was quite difficult to eat because it was just a bunch of grains mashed together and it was falling apart when biting it. The tempeh bacon didnt taste anything like bacon. This is not what a vegan restaurant is supposed to be like. My wife and I make vegan food at home that is much better than this place.
Excellent food and drinks! When you are there try the lavender coffee
I’m not vegan but I love the seasonal menu and the cocktails 👌
Incredible, affordable food in a fun and romantic atmosphere! Favorite new spot in Winter Park!
Great service, very pricey
Drove an hour out to come here because I heard about it from Instagram and was interested. We arrived a little past 3 only to find it dirt empty inside and hear from a worker that they have happy hour from 3-5 and only serve drinks then, no food. Very annoyed and disappointed because this wasn’t advertised on their social media’s or google. Was really excited about this place and now I probably won’t even be coming back to try it out because of the inconvenience they caused.
I enjoyed trying out this restaurant. Great service, love that they leave a carfe of water on the table. We ordered 4 items and my (very unexpected) favorite was the charcuterie board. Those smoked olives were amazing. The flatbread entree was ok, I would try the burger next time. Thanks!
Love their lavender coffee! Something you must try!
We needed a place like this in Orlando, great set up, amazing recipes, fabulous presentation and the service is outsatnding!! Thank you for creating such an atmosphere!!!
