U-Haul on Livingston St. in Allentown, PA is absolutely terrible! I put my belongings in storage in May 2021 and have since moved out of state. Since then, I have tried to make payments on line. I always have a problem logging in and have to speak to someone to make my payment. As of this review, I have been on hold for 25 minutes. I had to ask my sister to pay for me because I couldnt get through to anyone and didnt want to be assessed a late fee. Once I clear out my storage, I will NEVER use them again. And I will discourage any and everyone I know from using this place!

Incredibly unprofessional staff. Lazy and will argue with you instead of presenting a solution. Reservations are never on time, ESPECIALLY if it is first thing in the morning. The workers refuse to do their job and help customers. Waste of SO MUCH money and time. I will never use this service again.

Wish I could rate this place no stars. The customer service is horrible, the manager has no customer service skills and she is rude and disrespectful. They charge me for miles I didnt use and when I call the manager said it was my fault for not checking the milege before leaving the property and she wasnt giving me a refund. She was totally rude and nasty not only to me but my mother as well. She needs to be fired because the reps not doing their job correctly. People being charged for milege they arent using and they are robbing people. Please dont give this location your business. They are horrible. 😡😡😡😡😡😡

This is not my first time renting from this particular uhaul. But I will say it was the first time I encountered such a rude manager. I walked in without a mask because I forgot mine at home. Now everyone knows moving day can be hectic. So I asked if I could cover my face with my shirt. She rudely said no I have to leave. So I found one laying in the floor board of my car. This particular manager has no people skills. I then called because I needed more time and she rudely cut me off and told me she needed it back at 3 pm. At that point I just hung up. I was fed up with moving and I’m fed up with her rude attitude. Never will I rent from here n

If I could give no stars I would. This place is unreasonable, unprofessional, and definitely not cleanly. The GM Chelsea is disrespectful and misleading. The staff is not thorough at all with directions. While the representative was in front of me trying to close my contract, Chelsea was more concerned about bothering him for ordering U-Haul clothing and apparel. I had a storage unit here for 2 years. They are quick to lock your unit, but slow to unlock it once paid. They are not cleanly at all, my stuff had dead cockroaches and what appeared to be bed bugs on my sofa, tables and furniture. Chelsea claimed it was time for them to exterminate and it wasnt her problem. What wonderful caring and respectful staff they have here. STAY AWAY.

Decent MoversI will say that James did a pretty good job with the estimate (which was very reasonably priced), and was upfront with all of the fees that would be charged. He did understand the needs for my move to my new location (Philly.) They knew that they would have to double park, he asked me about how tight the street parking was, etc. Also, I did like that there was a 10% discount if you paid cash. In general, the movers were very helpful. I wasnt 100% done packing, and one of the 3 guys actually helped me finish packing while the other 2 moved stuff out of my apartment. They moved very quickly, which I also appreciated.The big issue that I had was that the movers actually damaged my 40 in TV, despite be wrapped and packed by the movers. I only found out on the day after the move, when I was having my cable set up. I contacted James, and he had me fill out an investigation form, and he talked to his movers. Even though the insurance I signed up for only covered damage for pennies for each pound (and it was a super light TV), James agreed to contribute half the cost towards a replacement. Although it was not the full value, and I had to shell out for a new one, I appreciate the fact that he was a man of his word, and wanted to rectify the situation. That is really hard to find at so many companies, and is something to be commended. So BEWARE! If you have valuable stuff--get the best insurance possible and do some of the wrapping yourself.

Decided to purchase a unit with U-Haul because I figured there would be a consistently positive experience. I recommend looking elsewhere. Elevators are faulty and its an ongoing hassle to retrieve items. The payment portal is also misleading. Looking forward to when I dont need a storage unit anymore 😭😭

Fast. cheap and easy. Just the way I like it. Brian the attendant was very polite, calm and helpful. The rates were so reasonable that I chose the most expensive insurance coverage because I felt like they werent making enough on the deal. I rented a trailer for 6 hours. Would definitely do it again. Thanks.

Still waiting on a manager call after waiting on a contract and a code for 2hrs to pick up a Truck I reserved and paid for that made me miss my storage time to store my stuff while my belongings sit on their truck very argumentative unprofessional customer service.

There is a giant sign, hung up, and bolted to the wall stating that you can leave furniture, clothing and other household items for others to take. We did just that and someone named Chelsea followed us around the entire unit to let us know we could not leave our stuff there “because people aren’t taking it these days”.......sounds like a personal problem Chelsea. Then proceeded to watch us on the cameras and chase our car down to let us know that even the chest we left was not considered “furniture”. I think even the staff may be confused on their policy. Luckily we were cleaning out the unit so we no longer have to return there. Unfortunately i am unable to add photos to the review. Just terrible and embarrassing on their end.

Make a reservation at this location and they schedule you for pickup at a different location or try to get you to get a smaller truck. (even after confirming the reservation online)That way they can make more mileage fees when you need to make more trips with a smaller truck or more mileage fees traveling across town to get the trucks.

I rented a U-Haul to take my daughter back from college. We ordered a 9 foot cargo van one month before the move date. Our receipt clearly notes a 9 foot cargo van. Apparently that was not good enough because they changed us to a much larger truck. I indicated I was not comfortable driving the much larger truck. Their story then changed to this was a free complementary upgrade and that we should be happy we got upgraded.I do not think I am the only person or customer of U-Haul who would not want a much larger vehicle that I was not comfortable driving. They were rude, and totally unhelpful. They then suggested we speak to corporate. Corporate was equally rude and unhelpful. We then had no way to take my daughter back home from college. They are awful, their customer service was awful, there was not one helpful or polite or even remotely sympathetic individual that we encountered at uhaul. Thank goodness one has an ability to write a negative review when service has been below par.

I called before hand to ask how much a 40lb propane tank would cost to refill and was told $20.I had a 40lb and 20lb tank filled and the total cost was $52.80.When I inquired about the price I was told there charge for propane is $3.81 a gallon. Propane cost more then premium fuelI advise people to go to Liberty Propane on union blvd cause there cost to fill a 20lb tank is $12 and $24 for a 40lb tank.UHAUL IS A RIP OFF

I would never go to this location again. They lack customer service. When I walked in, one rep was busy with a customer the other two were doing nothing and didnt even acknowledge me until I walked to the register and asked for help. I made a reservation online and once he (I forgot his name) pulled up my acct he added more things on I did not ask for. During the move our truck got stuck in the snow (the tires were not built for snow) we called uhaul corporate for assistance. We had the pleasure of speaking with Christine from Phoenix AZ. She was unable to get a tow truck to pull us out of the snow or bring us a new vehicle so she offered us to stay in a hotel because of the snow plus I had my 5month old with. We had to leave the tow trucj on the road with our furniture in it and walk to the hotel, we were grateful. Later on that evening she called again to make sure we made it there and we were safe and informed us we would receive a call in the morning once they had a tow truck for us. That morning we received a call like Christine said we would, they informed us the tow trucks available had to assist with pulling the emergency vehicles out first. We were fine with that. My husband and son decided to try to move the truck again since some of the snow cleared up. No luck. I received a call from a rep at this location. I answered the phone and she said ....you have one of our vehicles that you need to bring back as if she didnt know it was a snow storm the day before. I said hi good afternoon. Did you not realize it was a snow storm yesterday? Did you not check your messages? She said well we just got here I guess you can keep it until 5 and hung up. Uhual itself great company for what they did to assist my family but I will NEVER do business at this location. Hopefully others have a better experience than I did. I gave two stars because the location was clean and they had the vehicle I reserved available. I give CHRISTINE from Phoenix, AZ FIVE STARS.

Ray is our hero. He provided great bilingual customer service. He always had a friendly charasmatic demeanors and the brightest smile that always lighten up my cloudiest of days. It was sad to discover he nor Amanda were no longer with the company. Lucky for us the new team also had some talent But they were no match to the Amazing Amanda or Ravishing Ray thank you both for your unmatched service

Just want to Make an Honest Review about this UhaulAs a CSR myself I will have to side with the employees.Customers want Service, at whatever priceThey are always in a rush, always trying to rip off Uhaul for Fuel and complain constantly for Discounts.I Had a Issue returning my Jh 26 ft Truck from Brooklyn NY to North Miami Beach FlAs we all know Life Events Happen.I Had to return it to This Location in Allentown Pa.Their CSR Stephen was very Busy and I understood his Dilemma it was very difficult for him to prorate and close my Contract outBecause it was not a normal check in.He did provide me with Traffics phone Number in Brookly New York and I Resolved it with them.But it was not fully resolved.I called Allentowns Location and The GMMs Chelsea Grube was very ProfessionalAnd resolved my Issue very Quickly.CUSTOMERS! Avoid this place. They have the most unprofessional and unwilling to help staff you can possibly deal with. I have dealt with many of them (including the manager) for over a year and have had enough of their rude and brut attitude across the board. THEY ARE IN DESPERATE NEED of CUSTOMER SERVICE Training.

Go elsewhere! Staff is rude. Unprofessional side conversations going on, at the same time no one helped when they saw I was struggling getting my boxes to the car. No one offered to help me when I was shopping. I felt like ME and MY MONEY was not welcomed here.

This is the worst location EVER. Chelsea Grube is the most unprofessional, unpleasant, and lackadaisical version of a Manager I have EVER coordinated with. The lack of follow-up via email and telephone is absolutely appaling as is her attitude. She continuously stonewalls when you request to speak to a District or Regional Manager. Also, the phones are NEVER answered at this location. It always bounces to Reservations who then needs to transfer you to Customer Service who leaves her an E-Message which she claims to never receive. Also, my unit received water damage last year and they had to cut my lock. I have now been waiting for almost a year to receive the replacement keys from the new lock. #disgusting

I rented a van from this location with nothing but problems. I spoke to management and she definitely is not management material. Didnt care about my issue and was very nasty and no people skills. Im very surprised with U haul that they would allow this at one of there locations. I would stay away from this place in the future.

Worst service ever. Cam in to buy a new hitch ball from them and asked if they can take off the old ball from my hitch and they said no because the old ball wasnt bought at their store. I asked why? Just because was their answer... Stay away.

This is the absolute worst storage unit EVER! we paid for 24 hour access and the people working there screwed up and never did it properly so on multiple occasions we tried to go pick up items and were denied. And if the facility had normal after work hours we wouldnt have to be scammed into shelling out more money to pay for 24 hour access. We also got screwed with our one unit because it had a huge pillar in the middle of it taking up space yet we received no discount for getting less storage space. When I contacted the manager about this issue he never got back to me. If you want to be scammed out of your money then sign up. Otherwise Id say its worth it to even pay a little bit more money to go to another storage facility. The manager of this place is absolutely incompetent and should be fired.

I rented a cargo van @ the U Haul on Livingston Street in Allentown ( just off Union Blvd) last Sunday, Nov 7th and had a fantastic experience! Brooklyn hooked me up quickly and had us on our way in no time! She was very friendly, helpful and knew her stuff! When we returned she came out, adjusted the amount lower (we didnt use as many miles that I estimated) and once again had us on our way quickly!
