Founders planned and installed all cabinets in our new home, including the kitchen, the bars and 7 bathrooms. The sales person Shannon was very professional and knowledgeable. She went out of her way to measure and draw and revise to our fullest satisfaction. She made many trips to the worksite both before, during, and after the installation. The installation team, in particular the lead installer, Mario, was amazingly capable. They showed up each time at the time they said they were going to show up, finished everything, and offered to come back to redo something because they felt (not we felt) that it was not 100%. My husband and I could not believe the level of customer care we received, particularly at todays environment. The cabinets we ordered are mid tier in pricing but of very good quality. I highly recommend this company! It was truly a five star experience.
I was pretty happy with the cabinet designer, but it did seem like I kept having to fight my way back to the colors and designs that were MY ideas. She kept trying to infuse her opinions, especially on colors, telling me that the ones I liked were boring. They are extremely expensive, so know that going in. They will tell you its because of the quality of the cabinets, but who knows? Cabinets are a commodity. We met many times to design several rooms, from the kitchen to every bathroom vanity, homework area and dining room. Once I received the final quote, it was a lot higher than I thought it was going to be and told them to sharpen their pencils and get the price down as far as they could. She did get the price lower, but it was by taking every bell and whistle away from the cabinets. So then I was left with really expensive plain cabinets. I was then pressured to put a deposit down, so they would continue to work with me. They didnt have me sign anything, and there wasnt any big deal made of it. I shopped their prices at this point and found two other companies right off the bat that were over $100K cheaper! And the competition INCLUDED all the bell and whistles. So I went with another company to do the majority of the project. I left 3 areas for Founders to do, since I had placed a deposit. They refused to do those areas because I had used another company and were mad, I guess. So instead of accepting any business from me, they took my deposit money and told me to take a hike. So of course I asked for it back and they said no, because it was for the kitchen area. Then you are directed to talk to the 2 bozos that own the place. Bottom line: those 2 do not care about customer satisfaction. If you give them money, you will NEVER get it back if the deal goes any other way than the way they want it to go. Reminder: there was no signed contract or any information anywhere that stipulated what the deposit was even about. I looked into legal help and found that many people have had similar experiences with Founders. My husband and I are too busy and exasperated to pursue the legal route, reluctantly. We saved enough going somewhere else to make up for the theft of the deposit! My advice is to go elsewhere for cabinets. You will find really nice people that are fun and easy to work with AND youll save a ton of money! With no weird deposits until you place the order.P.S. Their receptionist is really nice, though :)
They have wonderful design support and a great product line. Theres a lot of flexibility with their design and product selection. We are probably going to go with a medium quality wall/base cabinet selection, and a high-end huge island.
Like many, I actually started researching my kitchen renovation by going to Lowes.Thankfully, their cabinet rep was so unbelievably annoying that I looked elsewhere. My experience with any number of other contractors has left me skeptical at best coming into these situations, but I called and asked for Julie, and from that moment on, I continued to be pleasantly surprised. I literally kept waiting (and waiting, and waiting) for the asterisk...the fine print...the excess charges...Those things so common to other contractors never came. What did come was a beautiful kitchen remodel. The cabinets look exactly the way I wanted them to, and Julie did an absolutely wonderful job listening, providing advice, and coordinating. So much so, in fact, that I actually ordered more cabinets for an adjacent laundry room mid-project!And it wasnt just Julie. The guys who did the install (Dan & Dom) were great, too! From start to finish, the whole team was genuinely concerned with getting me the product I wanted.
Blanche did an awesome job adjusting my cabinets and I wish I remembered the name of the other technician who replaced a cabinet latch. He was awesome as well! I would definitely recommend them!
The best customer service as I didnt even have their cabinets in my house. They still sent out a service tech to level, polish, and fix everything about them. Great people !
I wish I had listened to my gut... When reaching them after wed agreed on a design became a hassle, I should have known everything afterwards was going to be downhill from there. Quality of the cabinets we ordered was decent, certainly for the price. But getting in contact with our designer was virtually impossible, and with the actual installation contractors even more impossible. They DO NOT CALL when theyre coming out, so you MAY get a date at best for installations/repairs/follow ups. And we were roped into a shelving design that was NOT what I asked for - I signed off on them so thats on me, but at that point it was taking 2 weeks + to even reply to an e-mail so I didnt want to wait another 2 months to move forward on my new kitchen which was waiting on them. After this, a number of mismeasures (FOUR! FOUR mismeasures that caused delays in our kitchen even though they never make these mistakes) caused them to overcharge us and I had to fight to even get this money back despite it being 100% their mistake. The worst part, perhaps, is if you have an issue you might as well not bother talking to the founders. Both Billy and Robbie will tell you (quite rudely, in fact) that they have good business and customer service even if you didnt receive it, and they Dont. Do. Refunds. Once youve given them youre money, you can rest assured theyre going to keep it even if they didnt meet your expectations. This I might understand if these were small issues but I didnt appreciate being told I wasnt a valued customer simply because they had failed me and I dared trying to get my moneys worth. If you have good customer service as you claim, sirs, then you correct it when you dont. You dont pretend that customer is in the wrong.
If you are going to stamp your name all over your work vans....recognize what you are representing when you are rude and stupid. I would never use this company. Their driving surely represents their work.
I didnt do business there but the people are knowledgable, thoughtful, professional and I would consider using them for a bigger job.
We bought our home in 2009 and have been very pleased with our maple kitchen cabinets, installed by Founders. I found a signficant crack in one door on our island, called Founders, spoke to Gordon who offered me several options to honor the lifetime warranty. I decided to let one of their craftsman repair the cabinet. Mitsy contacted me two days after I droped it off to update me on the status and two days later, I picked up my masterfully repaired cabinet door. It looks like new! I walked away with the peace of mind that they stand by their products. GREAT JOB by everyone at Founders Kitchen and Bath! I
I reached out to Founders to get a quote on a small Aristokraft cabinet job at our home. I originally reached out to Aristokraft directly, but they pointed me to their Dealer Locator option, which led me to Founders. I first reached out to Founders on Sep 5, 2018, via email from their website. 5 days went by without a response. I then reached out to a sales contact directly on Sep 10, 2018 (again via email) - she responded the next day indicating that someone from her office would be contacting me if they have not already. Fast forward 1 week, still without a response (Sep 17), I follow back up with her. I then receive a response from the Owner indicating that this is not something we do. What, install cabinets?! Cmon - if this was not something your company does, then why didnt the first response from the sales person indicate that? Instead, I wait for 12 days to get that response? Disappointing. Back to Aristokraft we go... this time I hope to find a responsive dealer.
